The effect of column temperature on the reversed-phase retention of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons has been investigated using various chemically bonded phases. Four solutes, coronene, tetrabenzo[a,cd,j,lm]perylene, tetrabenzo[a,cd,f,lm]perylene and benzo[lm]phenanthro[4,5,6-abcd]perylene, were used as the test probes. The temperature dependences of the retention are almost linear (the logarithm of capacity factor is proportional to the reciprocal of the column absolute temperature) with monomeric C18, monomeric C18 with endcapping and diphenyl bonded phases, while non-linear behaviour was observed with polymeric C18 phases. These differences in behaviour of the stationary phases are interpreted in terms of their structural differences.  相似文献

Theoretical examination [B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), PP/IGLO-III//B3LYP/6-31G(d,p), and NBO methods] of six-membered cyclohexane 1 and carbonyl-, thiocarbonyl-, or methylidene-containing derivatives 2-27 afforded precise structural (in particular, C-H bond distances) and spectroscopic (specifically, one-bond (1)J(C)(-)(H) NMR coupling constants) data that show the consequences of stereoelectronic hyperconjugative effects in these systems. Major observations include the following. (1) sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() -->(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() (Y = O, S, or CH(2)) hyperconjugation leads to a shortening (strengthening) of the equatorial C-H bonds adjacent to the pi group. This effect is reflected in smaller (1)J(C)(-)(H)(ax)() coupling constants relative to (1)J(C)(-)(H)(eq)(). (2) Comparison of the structural and spectroscopic consequences of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) hyperconjugation in cyclohexanone 2, thiocyclohexanone 3, and methylenecyclohexane 4 suggests a relative order of acceptor orbital ability C=S > C=O > C=CH(2), which is in line with available pK(a) data. (3) Analysis of the structural and spectroscopic data gathered for heterocyclic derivatives 5-12 reveals some additivity of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y), pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)(), n(X) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)(), n(beta)(O) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(eq)(), and sigma(S)(-)(C) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(eq)() stereoelectronic effects that is, nevertheless, attenuated by saturation effects. (4) Modulation of the C=Y acceptor character of the exocyclic pigroup by conjugation with alpha-heteroatoms O, N, and S in lactones, lactams, and methylidenic analogues 13-24 results in decreased sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() hyperconjugation. (5) Additivity of sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() --> pi(C)(=)(Y) and pi(C)(=)(Y) --> sigma(C)(-)(H)(ax)() hyperconjugative effects is also apparent in 1,3-dicarbonyl derivative 25 (C=Y equal to C=O), 1,3-dithiocarbonyl derivative 26 (C=Y equal to C=S), and 1,3-dimethylidenic analogue 27 (C=Y equal to C=CH(2)).  相似文献

The electrochemical and spectral properties of some copper(I) polypyridyl complexes based on 6,7-dihydrodibenzo[b,j][1,10]phenanthroline, dmbiq, and 6,7-dihydrodipyrido[2,3-b:3',2'-j][1,10]phenanthroline, dmbinap, are reported. These complexes are [Cu(dmbiq)(2)](+), 1; [Cu(dmbiq)(PPh(3))(2)](+), 2; [Cu(dmbinap)(2)](+), 3; and [Cu(dmbinap)(PPh(3))(2)](+), 4. 3 and 4 may be reduced to form ligand-based radical anion species. The resonance Raman spectra of 3(*)()(-)() and 4(*)()(-)() are almost identical and correspond closely to the spectrum of dmbinap(*)()(-)() and the reported spectra of complexes containing 2,2'-biquinoline radical anion moieties. Reduction processes for 1 and 2 are irreversible. For 1 the electronic spectral changes arising from reduction suggest demetallation of the complex. The structure of [Cu(C(18)H(12)N(4))(2)][BF(4)].CH(2)Cl(2) (3[BF(4)].CH(2)Cl(2)) was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. It crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with cell dimensions a = 14.059(7) ?, b = 15.058(6) ?, c = 16.834(9) ?, beta = 111.56(5) degrees, Z = 4, rho(calcd) = 1.611 g/cm(3), and R(F(o)) = 0.0497.  相似文献

The nature of the chemical bonding in the 1:1 complexes formed by the fourth period transition metals (Sc, ..., Cu) with 14 electrons (N(2), CN(-), C(2)H(2)) and 10 electrons (NH(3), H(2)O, F(-)) ligands has been investigated at the ROB3LYP/6-311+G(2d) level by the ELF topological approach. The bonding is ruled by the nature of the ligand. The 10 electrons and anionic ligands are very poor electron acceptors and therefore the interaction with the metal is mostly electrostatic and for all metal except Cr the multiplicity is given by the [Ar]c(n)() configuration of the metallic core (n = Z - 20). The electron acceptor ligands which have at least a lone pair form linear or bent complexes involving a dative bond with the metal and the rules proposed previously for monocarbonyls hold. In the case of ethyne, it is not possible to form a linear complex and the cyclic C(2)(v)() structure imposed by symmetry possesses two covalent M-C bonds, therefore the multiplicity is given by the local core configuration [Ar]c(n)() for all metals except Mn and Ni.  相似文献

The sensitivity of the nu(C)()alpha(-)(H/D) vibrational stretching frequency to hydrogen bonding in alcohols is examined by infrared and Raman spectroscopy, supported by DFT(B3LYP)/6-311++G(d,p) calculations. The model compound studied is (R,S)-n-[1-D]propanol. It is shown that the nu(C)()alpha(-)(H/D) mode can be successfully correlated with the hydrogen-bond strength in a given solvent, provided the O-H group involved in the hydrogen bond is not acting simultaneously as a hydrogen-bond donor and acceptor. In addition, a detailed analysis of the spectroscopic features observed in both the nu(O)(-)(H) and nu(C)()alpha(-)(H/D) spectral regions of the spectra of n-propanol and (R,S)-n-[1-D]propanol, in a series of different experimental conditions, which include the matrix-isolated compound (in argon matrix), pure liquid and low-temperature glassy states, and solution in different solvents, is undertaken. This permits the contribution of the different conformers of the studied compounds to be assigned to the bands observed in the nu(O)(-)(H) and nu(C)(-)(H) spectral regions.  相似文献

The cycloaddition of the dibenzoxazepinium W-ylides, generated by heating of trans-1-aryl-7,11b-dihydro-1H-azirino[1,2-a]dibenzo[c,f]azepines, to the C═N double bond of 3-aryl-2H-azirines proceeds endo-stereoselectively giving regioisomeric cycloadducts in ca. 1:1 ratio, in good overall yields. In contrast to the dibenzoxazepinium ylides, the cycloaddition of the dibenzazepinium W-ylide proceeds regioselectively but without exo-endo-stereoselectivity. The reasons for this selectivity of the cycloaddition theoretically were studied at the DFT B3LYP/6-31G(d) level. Heating adducts, (2aRS,13SR,13aRS)-13,13a-diaryl-13,13a-dihydro-1H,2aH-azireno[1',2':3,4]imidazo[1,2-d]dibenzo[b,f][1,4]oxazepines and (2aRS,13SR,13aRS)-13,13a- diphenyl-2a,7,13,13a-tetrahydro-1H-azireno[1',2':3,4]imidazo[1,2-a]dibenzo[c,f]azepine, with an excess of AIBN in toluene gave new polyheterocyclic systems via a novel aza cyclopropylcarbinyl-homoallyl radical rearrangement-radical cyclization cascade. The energy profile of the cascade was studied at the DFT UB3LYP/6-31G(d) level. The transient imidazolinylmethyl radical was trapped by the use of other radical initiators as the corresponding peroxide or alcohol.  相似文献

Based on DFT calculations (RB3LYP/LANL2DZp), the unexpected single-line 1H NMR spectrum of Zn(II)(nta), nta = 2,2',2'-nitrilotriacetate, can be ascribed to a non-dissociative enantiomerization process (deltadeltadelta<=>lambdalambdalambda) from C3viaC3v to C3 symmetry. The energy barrier is rather low and depends to a lesser extent on the nature of the co-ligand in [Zn(nta)X]2- (X: H-, CH3- NH2-, OCH3-, F-, Cl-, Br-, I-) and [Zn(nta)Y]- (Y: NCH, CO, N2, O(CH3)2), but more so on the overall charge of the complex. The energy barrier for enantiomerization of [Zn(nta)X]2- is between 5.7 and 6.7 kcal mol-1, and for [Zn(nta)Y]- between 2.2 and 3.1 kcal mol-1.  相似文献

The mass spectra of six highly purified violanthrene samples of class A—(benzo[rst]anthro[10,1,2-cde]pentaphen, benzo[rst]phenanthro[10,1,2-cde]pentaphene), class B—(benzo[rst]phenanthro[1,10,9-cde]pentaphene, dibenzo[a,rst]naphtho[8,1,2-cde]pentaphene) and class T—(tetrabenzo[a,cd,j,lm]perylene, tetrabenzo[de,hi,op,st]pentacene) were measured. The dependence of relative ion instensities for monovalent, divalent and trivalent ions [M]i+, [M – 2n]i+ and [M – 15]i+ (i = 1, 2, 3) showed clearly the effect of overcrowding in condensed aromatic rings, i.e. the number of H2 molecules which are readily eliminated from the molecular ions is zero for class A, one for class B, and two for class T. These numbers are the same as the number of overcrowded hydrogen atom pairs for each class.  相似文献

Density functional computations (PBE and B3LYP) in conjunction with 3-21G and 6-31G basis sets are used to determine the energy of fluorine atom and CH(2) addition to the sidewall of (5,5) C(30+10)(n)()H(20) (n = 0, 1, 2.18) carbon nanotube slabs. A pronounced oscillation of the addition energy is found for fluorine atom addition, while oscillations are significantly damped for carbene addition due to the insertion into CC bonds. The effects of introducing nitrogen atoms in the fjord regions and chalcogen bridges on the conformations of overcrowded bistricyclic aromatic enes (1, X not equal to Y) (BAEs) were studied. 9-(9'H-1',8'-Diazafluoren-9'-ylidene)-9H-thioxanthene (12), 9-(9H-1',8'-diazafluoren-9'-ylidene)-9H-selenoxanthene (13), 9-(9'H-1',8'-diazafluoren-9'-ylidene)-9H-telluroxanthene (14), 9-(9' H-1',8'-fluoren-9-ylidene)-9H-xanthene (15) and 9-(9' H-1',8'-fluoren-9'-ylidene)-9H-fluorene (16) were synthesized by two-fold extrusion coupling reactions of 1,8-diaza-9H-fluoren-9-one (19)/chalcoxanthenthiones (24-27) (or /9H-fluorene-9-thione (30)). The 1',8'-diazafluoren-9-ylidene-chalcoxanthenes (11) were compared with the respective fluoren-9-ylidene-chalcoxanthenes (10). The structures of 12-16 were established by 1H, 13C, 77Se, and 125Te NMR spectroscopies. The crystal and molecular structures of 12-14 were determined by X-ray analysis. The yellow molecules of 12-14 adopted mono-folded conformations with folding dihedrals in the chalocoxanthylidene moieties of 62.7 degrees (12), 62.4 degrees (13) and 59.9 degrees (14). The folding dihedrals in the respective 1',8'-diazafluorenylidene moieties were very small, ca. 2 degrees, compared with 10.2/8.0 degrees in (9'H-fluoren-9'-ylidene)-9H-selenoxanthene (7). A 5 degree pure twist of C9=C9' in 14 is noted. The degrees of overcrowding in the fjord regions of 12-14 (intramolecular non-bonding distances) were relatively small. The degrees of pyramidalization of C9 and C9' were 17.0/3.0 degrees (12), 17.4/2.4 degrees (13) and 2.2/2.2 degrees (14). These high values in 12 and 13 stem from the resistance of the 1.8-diazafluorenylidene moiety to fold and from the limits in the degrees of folding of the thioxanthylidene and selenoxanthylidene moieties (due to shorter S10-C4a/S10-C10a and Se10-C4a/Se10-C10a bonds, as compared with the respective Te-C bonds in 14). The molecules of 15 and 16 adopt twisted conformations, a conclusion drawn from the 1H NMR chemical shifts of the fjord regions protons (H1 and H8) at 8.70 (15) and 9.00 ppm (16) and from their colors and UV/VIS spectra: 15 is purple (lambdamax = 521 nm) and 16 is orange-red. A comparison of the NMR spectra of 11 and 10 (deltadelta = delta(11) -delta(10)) showed substantial downfield shifts of 0.56-0.62 ppm of the fjord regions protons of twisted 15 and 16: deltadelta (C9) were negative (upfield): -4.0 (12), -3.7 (13), -3.4 (14), -7.1 (15), -5.0 ppm (16), while deltadelta (C9') were positive (downfield) = +6.8 (12), +6.5 (13), +5.8 (14), + 11.7 (15), +7.7 ppm (16). In 15, deltadelta (C9) - deltadelta (C9') = + 18.8 ppm, attributed to a push-pull character and significant contributions of zwitterionic structures in the twisted conformation. The 77Se and 125Te NMR signals of 13 and 14 were shifted upfield relative to the respective fluorenylidene-chalcoxanthene derivatives: deltadelta77Se = 17.2 ppm and deltadelta125Te = 22.0 ppm. The presence of the nitrogen atoms (N1' and N8') in 13 and 14 causes shielding of the selenium and tellurium nuclei.  相似文献

The gas phase and solvent dependent preference of the tautomerization between 2-pyridinethiol (2SH) and 2-pyridinethione (2S) has been assessed using variable temperature Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) experiments, as well as ab initio and density functional theory computations. No spectroscopic evidence (nu(S)(-)(H) stretch) for 2SH was observed in toluene, C(6)D(6), heptane, or methylene chloride solutions. Although, C(s)() 2SH is 2.61 kcal/mol more stable than C(s)() 2S (CCSD(T)/cc-pVTZ//B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)+ZPE), cyclohexane solvent-field relative energies (IPCM-MP2/6-311+G(3df,2p)) favor 2S by 1.96 kcal/mol. This is in accord with the FTIR observations and in quantitative agreement with the -2.6 kcal/mol solution (toluene or C(6)D(6)) calorimetric enthalpy for the 2S/2SH tautomerization favoring the thione. As the intramolecular transition state for the 2S, 2SH tautomerization (2TS) lies 25 (CBS-Q) to 30 kcal/mol (CCSD/cc-pVTZ) higher in energy than either tautomer, tautomerization probably occurs in the hydrogen bonded dimer. The B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p) optimized C(2) 2SH dimer is 10.23 kcal/mol + ZPE higher in energy than the C(2)(h)() 2S dimer and is only 2.95 kcal/mol + ZPE lower in energy than the C(2) 2TS dimer transition state. Dimerization equilibrium measurements (FTIR, C(6)D(6)) over the temperature range 22-63 degrees C agree: K(eq)(298) = 165 +/- 40 M(-)(1), DeltaH = -7.0 +/- 0.7 kcal/mol, and DeltaS = -13.4 +/- 3.0 cal/(mol deg). The difference between experimental and B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p) [-34.62 cal/(mol deg)] entropy changes is due to solvent effects. The B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p) nucleus independent chemical shifts (NICS) are -8.8 and -3.5 ppm 1 A above the 2SH and 2S ring centers, respectively, and the thiol is aromatic. Although the thione is not aromatic, it is stabilized by the thioamide resonance. In solvent, the large 2S dipole, 2-3 times greater than 2SH, favors the thione tautomer and, in conclusion, 2S is thermodynamically more stable than 2SH in solution.  相似文献

The structures, energetics, and aromatic character of dicyclobuta[de,ij]naphthalene, 1, dicyclopenta[cd,gh]pentalene, 2, dihydrodicyclobuta[de,ij]naphthalene, 3, and dihydrocyclopenta[cd,gh]pentalene, 4, have been examined at the B3LYP/6-311++G//B3LYP/6-31G level of theory. All molecules are bowl-shaped, and the pentalene isomers, 2 and 4, are most stable. A comparison with other C(12)H(6) and C(12)H(8) isomers indicates that 2 is approximately 25 kcal/mol less stable than 1,5,9-tridehydro[12]annulene and 4 is approximately 100 kcal/mol higher in energy than acenaphthylene, both of which are synthetically accessible. The transition state structure for bowl-to-bowl inversion of 1 is planar (D(2)(h)()) and lies 30.9 kcal/mol higher in energy than the ground state; the transition state for inversion of 2 is C(2)(h)() and lies 46.6 kcal/mol higher in energy. Symmetry considerations, bond length alternations, and NICS values (a magnetic criterion) all indicate that the ground states of 1, 3, and 4 are very aromatic; however, HOMA values (a measure of bond delocalization) indicate that 3S and 4S are aromatic but that 1S is less so. NICS values for the ground state of 2 strongly indicate aromaticity; however, bond localization, symmetry, and HOMA values argue otherwise.  相似文献

The synthesis and characterization of 10-(o-alkoxyphenyl)phenoxarsines 2-ROC6H4As(C6H4)2O (R = H, Me, and Pri, As(C6H4)2O = phenoxarsine) and their platinum(II) and palladium(II) complexes cis-[PtCl2{2-PriOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (1), trans-[PdCl2{2-PriOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (2), cis-[PtCl2{2-HOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (3), cis-[PdCl2{2-HOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (4), cis-[PtI2{2-MeOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (5), and trans-[PdCl2{2-MeOC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs}2] (6) are reported. The chelate complex cis-[Pt{2-OC6H4As(C6H4)2O-kappaAs,O}2] (7) is also described. The molecular structures of 1-4 and 7 were determined. The short As...O intramolecular interaction found in complexes 1-4 in the solid state was also verified by calculations at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ level for complex 2 and for 10-(o-isopropoxyphenyl)phenoxarsine in the gas phase, and this suggests that the interaction is a characteristic of the ligand rather than a packing effect. Calculations at the B3LYP/LANL2DZ and Oniom(B3LYP/LANL2DZ:uff) levels for complexes 1-4 showed that the solvent plays a crucial role in the crystallization (through geometry constraints) of the kinetically stable cis isomers.  相似文献

We have studied the ground and excited states of the three dendritic polynuclear Pt(Ⅱ) complexes 1-[Cl(PH3)2PtC≡C]-3,5-[HC≡C]C6H3 (1), 1,3-[Cl(PH3)2PtC≡C]2-5-[HC≡C]C6H3 (2), and 1,3,5-[Cl(PH3)2- PtC≡C]3C6H3 (3), by using the B3LYP and UB3LYP methods, respectively. TDDFT approach with the PCM model was performed to predict the emission spectra properties of 1-3 in CH2Cl2 solution. We first predicted the excited-state geometries for the three complexes. With the change of the number of Pt(Ⅱ) atom, 1-3 show the different geometry structures in both the ground and excited states; furthermore, the increase of the metal density from 1 to 3 results in the red shift of the lowest-energy emissions along the series. The luminescent properties of 1 are somewhat different from those of 2 and 3. The emission properties of 2 and 3 are richer than 1. Our conclusion can give a good support for designing the high efficient luminescent materials.  相似文献

Peroxynitrite reacts with 2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-guanosine to yield a novel compound identified as 1-(2,3,5-tri-O-acetyl-beta-D-erythro-pentofuranosyl)-5-guanidino-4-nitroimidazole (6). This characterization was achieved using a combination of UV/vis spectroscopy and ESI-MS. Additionally, 1-(beta-D-erythro-pentofuranosyl)-5-guanidino-4-nitroimidazole (6a) was synthesized by an independent route, characterized by UV/vis spectroscopy, ESI-MS, and (1)H- and (13)C NMR, and shown to be identical to deacetylated 6. This product is extremely stable in aqueous solution at both pH extremes and is formed in significant yields. These characteristics suggest that this lesion may be useful as a specific biomarker of peroxynitrite-induced DNA damage. We also observed formation of 2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-8-nitroguanosine (2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-8-NO(2)()Guo), 2-amino-5-[(2,3,5-tri-O-acetyl-beta-D-erythro-pentofuranosyl)amino]-4H-imidazol-4-one (2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-Iz), and the peroxynitrite-induced oxidation products of 2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-8-oxoGuo. The formation of 6 and 2',3',5'-tri-O-acetyl-8-NO(2)()Guo was rationalized by a mechanism invoking formation of the guanine radical.  相似文献

The reaction of Pd(OAc)2 with bis-iminophosphoranes Ph3P=NCH2CH2CH2N=PPh3 (1a), [C6H4(C(O)N=PPh3)2-1,3] (1b) and [C6H4(C(O)N=PPh3)2-1,2] (1c), gives the orthopalladated tetranuclear complexes [{Pd(mu-Cl){C6H4(PPh2=NCH2-kappa-C,N)-2}}2CH2]2 (2a) [{Pd(mu-OAc){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',3']2 (2b) and [{Pd(mu-OAc){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',2']2 (2c). The reaction takes place in CH2Cl2 for 1a, but must be performed in glacial acetic acid for 1b and 1c. The process implies in all cases the activation of a C-H bond on a Ph ring of the phosphonium group, with concomitant formation of endo complexes. This is the expected behaviour for 1a, but for 1b and 1c reverses the exo orientation observed in other ketostabilized iminophosphoranes. The influence of the solvent in the orientation of the reaction is discussed. The dinuclear acetylacetonate complexes [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NCH2-kappa-C,N)-2}}2CH2] (3a), [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',3'] (3b) and [{Pd(acac-O,O'){C6H4(PPh2=NC(O)-kappa-C,N)-2}}2C6H4-1',2'] (3c) have been obtained from the halide-bridging tetranuclear derivatives. The X-ray crystal structure of [3c.4CHCl3] is also reported.  相似文献

Condensation of o-bromomethylphenylacetonitrile with arylcarbohydrazides gave, depending on the reaction conditions, 2-arylcarboxamido-1,4-dihydroisoquinoline-3(2H)-imine hydrobromides or 2-aryl-5,10-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-b]isoquinolines. Analogous condensation of 4-(2-bromomethylphenyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-carbonitrile and 1-(2-bromomethylphenyl)-1-cyclopentanecarbonitrile with arylcarbohydrazides gave respectively 2-aryl-2,3,5,6-tetrahydrospiro[4H-pyran-4,10'(5'H)-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-b]isoquinolines and 2-arylspiro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5,b]isoquinoline-10(5'H)-1'-cyclopentanes, derivatives of new spirane heterocycles. The reaction with condensing agents of 3-imino-2,2',3,3'5',6'-hexahydrospiro[isoquinoline-4(1H),4'-4H-pyran]-2-amine and 3-imino-2,3-dihydrospiro[isoquinoline-4(1H),1'-cyclopentane]-2-amine hydrobromides, synthesized from the corresponding bromo nitriles and hydrazine, may serve as an alternative route for the synthesis of these compounds. The structure of obtained triazoloisoquinolines was established from IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectra. An X-ray crystallographic study of 2-phenylspiro[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-b]isoquinoline-10(5H),1'-cyclopentane was carried out.  相似文献

We report the preparation of complexes in which ruthenium(II) bis(bipyridyl) groups are coordinated to oligothiophenes via a diphenylphosphine linker and a thienyl sulfur (P,S bonding) to give [Ru(bpy)(2)PT(3)-P,S](PF(6))(2) (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridyl, PT(3) = 3'-(diphenylphosphino)-2,2':5',2' '-terthiophene), [Ru(bpy)(2)PMeT(3)-P,S](PF(6))(2) (PMeT(3) = 3'-(diphenylphosphino)-5-methyl-2,2':5',2' '-terthiophene), [Ru(bpy)(2)PMe(2)T(3)-P,S](PF(6))(2) (PMe(2)T(3) = 5,5' '-dimethyl-3'-(diphenylphosphino)-2,2':5',2' '-terthiophene), and [Ru(bpy)(2)PDo(2)T(5)-P,S](PF(6))(2) (PDo(2)T(5) = 3,3' ' '-didodecyl-3' '-diphenylphosphino-2,2':5',2' ':5' ',2' ':5' ',2' ' '-pentathiophene). These complexes react with base, resulting in the complexes [Ru(bpy)(2)PT(3)-P,C]PF(6), [Ru(bpy)(2)PMeT(3)-P,C]PF(6), [Ru(bpy)(2)PMe(2)T(3)-P,C]PF(6), and [Ru(bpy)(2)PDo(2)T(5)-P,C]PF(6), where the thienyl carbon is bonded to ruthenium (P,C bonding). The P,C complexes revert back to the P,S bonding mode by reaction with acid; therefore, metal-thienyl bonding is reversibly switchable. The effect of interaction of the metal groups in the different bonding modes with the thienyl backbone is reflected by changes in alignment of the thienyl rings in the solid-state structures of the complexes, the redox potentials, and the pi --> pi transitions in solution. Methyl substituents attached to the terthiophene groups allow observation of the effect of these substituents on the conformational and electronic properties and aid in assignments of the electrochemical data. The PT(n)() ligands bound in P,S and P,C bonding modes also alter the electrochemical and spectroscopic properties of the ruthenium bis(bipyridyl) group. Both bonding modes result in quenching of the oligothiophene luminescence. Weak, short-lived Ru --> bipyridyl MLCT-based luminescence is observed for [Ru(bpy)(2)PDo(2)T(5)-P,S](PF(6))(2), [Ru(bpy)(2)PT(3)-P,C]PF(6), [Ru(bpy)(2)PMeT(3)-P,C]PF(6), and [Ru(bpy)(2)PMe(2)T(3)-P,C]PF(6), and no emission is observed for the alternate bonding mode of each complex.  相似文献

The generation of 2-carbenabicyclo[3.2.1]octa-3,6-diene (1) results in the formation of C(8)H(8) hydrocarbons endo-6-ethynylbicyclo[3.1.0]hex-2-ene (4), semibullvalene (5), and 5-ethynyl-1,3-cyclohexadiene (6), and C(8)H(10) hydrocarbons bicyclo[3.2.1]octa-2,6-diene (7), tricyclo[3.2.1.0(4,6)]oct-2-ene (8), and tetracyclo[3.3.0.0(2,8)0(4,6)]octane (9). Focus is placed on three mechanistic pathways for the formation of the C(8)H(10) hydrocarbon fraction: (a) abstraction of hydrogen by triplet carbene 1T to produce an equilibrating set of monoradicals, (b) interconversion of triplet carbene 1T into tricyclic triplet diradical 19T and tetracyclic triplet diradical 20T, and (c) interconversion of singlet 1S with analogous singlet diradical 19S and 20S. Ab initio calculations at the (U)B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)//(U)B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) and broken spin symmetry UBS B3LYP/6-311+G(3df,2p)//B3LYP/6-31G(d,p) levels rule out choices (a) and (b) and are consistent with the singlet diradical process.  相似文献

Ethylenediamine (en) reacts with the polyhedral borane anion [n-B(20)H(18)](2)(-), in the presence or absence of strong nonnucleophilic auxiliary bases, to produce the [ae-B(20)H(17)(en)](3)(-) anion. In either case, substitution is accompanied, to an approximately equal extent, by reduction of the starting material to form [a(2)()-B(20)H(18)](4)(-). As found with similar substituted systems derived from this 20-boron structure, [ae-B(20)H(17)(en)](3)(-) may be conveniently rearranged to the [a(2)()-B(20)H(17)(en)](3)(-) anion. A more convenient synthesis of the known [ae-B(20)H(17)NH(3)](3)(-) ion, which employs acetonitrile as the source of the NH(3) ligand instead of liquid ammonia, is also described.  相似文献
