Simple gas chromatographic method for furfural analysis   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A new, simple, gas chromatographic method was developed for the direct analysis of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF), 2-furfural (2-F) and 5-methylfurfural (5-MF) in liquid and water soluble foods, using direct immersion SPME coupled to GC-FID and/or GC-TOF-MS. The fiber (DVB/CAR/PDMS) conditions were optimized: pH effect, temperature, adsorption and desorption times. The method is simple and accurate (RSD<8%), showed good recoveries (77-107%) and good limits of detection (GC-FID: 1.37 microgL(-1) for 2-F, 8.96 microgL(-1) for 5-MF, 6.52 microgL(-1) for 5-HMF; GC-TOF-MS: 0.3, 1.2 and 0.9 ngmL(-1) for 2-F, 5-MF and 5-HMF, respectively). It was applied to different commercial food matrices: honey, white, demerara, brown and yellow table sugars, and white and red balsamic vinegars. This one-step, sensitive and direct method for the analysis of furfurals will contribute to characterise and quantify their presence in the human diet.  相似文献

Current methods for quantitative determination of chlormequat residues in food crops are characterized by rather low recoveries and the need for derivatization (in case of gas chromatography, GC), or by high capital investment (in case of liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry, LC–MS). We propose a cation-exchange chromatography method for the analysis of chlormequat in pears. The method is based on extraction of the target compound with 40 mM HCl, followed by centrifugation and filtration. The filtrate is directly injected into an ion chromatograph equipped with a commercially available cation-exchange column and a suppressed conductivity detection system. While the limit of detection (LOD) (0.5 mg/kg) may not be small enough to allow dietary analysis, the method meets all validation requirements and is an alternative for the existing GC and LC–MS methods in quality control.  相似文献

A high-performance liquid chromatographic method for the determination of vanillylmandelic acid and homovanillic acid is described. The method is fast despite the great polarity differences between the two acids. Moreover the sample pretreatment is quick and it does not need complex or expensive equipment. The only requirement is the disposition of two pumps (or at least two eluent reservoirs) operated alternatively by means of a switching valve placed before the injection device. This makes the method available for most routine laboratories.  相似文献

A rapid gas chromatographic method is described for the determination of chlorophenoxyisobutyric acid (the active metabolite of clofibrate) in plasma and urine. The assay involves an extraction into toluene and back-extraction of the chlorophenoxyisobutyric acid and the internal standard (2-naphthoic acid) into the methylating reagent (trimethylanilinium hydroxide). Concentrations of 1 mug/ml in plasma and urine can easily be measured; the precision of the method is 3.3 +/- 0.7% for plasma and 2.7 +/- 0.4% for urine. There is no interference from endogenous compounds or from drugs commonly prescribed together with clofibrate.  相似文献

Six fish species-Cirrhinus mrigala (Morakhi), Labeo rohita (Danbhro), Catla catla (Thalli), Wallago attu (Jarko), Ctenopharyngodon idella (Grass), and Cyprimus carpio (Gulfam)--commonly found in the Pakistani Indus river, were selected for fat and cholesterol evaluation. Fat content was quantified by the Folch method and cholesterol content was determined by a simple GC method. The application of the proposed method to quantify cholesterol content revealed variations among the six breeds evaluated. The breeds studied contained 0.80-1.95% fat, indicating that all investigated fishes were lean; significant variation was found in cholesterol content, and ranged between 72 and 392 mg/100 g. Standard addition analyses showed that the method was accurate, as the recovery of cholesterol varied from 95 to 103%, with a coefficient of variance not more than 5.6%. The results showed that, after the development of suitable calibration, within 11 min, the cholesterol could be accurately determined by GC.  相似文献
