提出了单层石墨烯包裹双锥形微纳光纤复合波导结构,构建了730~1 700nm超宽带微纳光纤波导全光调制器。通过火焰拉锥法将一根标准的通信单模光纤拉成具有双锥形的微纳光纤,在保证通光率的前提下可以极大的提升微纳光纤处的倏逝波与物质的相互作用。利用石墨烯的"超级特征",即单原子层厚度、线性色散的能带结构、超强的载流子带间跃迁及极短的弛豫时间和超宽带光与物质相互作用等,将单层石墨烯作为可饱和吸收体,包裹在双锥形微纳光纤波导的锥体上,以增强该复合波导表面倏逝波与石墨烯的相互作用。静态和动态全光调制实验中采用传统808nm低功率LD作为泵浦光,对谱宽为480~1 700nm的超连续谱探测光实现了光光调制,其泵浦光功率低于50mW,调制深度大于5.7dB,调制速率达到~4kHz。该微纳光纤波导全光调制器,在保证调制深度的情况下,用更低的泵浦功率实现了超宽带的全光调制,以简单、有效、廉价的方式兼容了当前高速光纤通信网络,打开了一扇未来对微纳超快光信号处理的大门。  相似文献

A simple and robust refractive index (RI) sensor based on a Mach-Zehnder interferometer has been demonstrated. A section of optical microfiber drawn from silica fiber is employed as the sensing arm. Because of the evanescent field, a slight change of the ambient RI will lead to the variation of the microfiber propagation constant, which will further change the optical length. In order to compensate the variation of the optical length difference, a tunable optical delay line (ODL) is inserted into the other arm. By measuring the delay of the ODL, the ambient RI can be simply demodulated. A high RI sensitivity of about 7159 μm/refractive index unit is achieved at microfiber diameter of 2.0 μm.  相似文献

We report on a functional optical microfiber mode interferometer and its applications for absolute, temperature-insensitive refractive index sensing. A standard optical fiber was tapered down to 10 μm. The central part of the taper, i.e., the microfiber, is connected to the untapered regions with two identical abrupt transitions. The transmission spectrum of our device exhibited a sinusoidal pattern due to the beating between modes. In our interferometer the period of the pattern-an absolute parameter-depends strongly on the surrounding refractive index but it is insensitive to temperature changes. The period, hence the external index, can be accurately measured by taking the fast Fourier transform (FFT) of the detected interference pattern. The measuring refractive index range of the device here proposed goes from 1.33 to 1.428 and the maximum resolution is on the order of 3.7×10(-6).  相似文献

We propose a novel fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) that incorporates a length of microfiber as its cavity and two fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) as reflectors. The microfiber FPI is simply fabricated by flame-heated taper-drawing the central spot of an FBG into a section of microfiber. Ambient refractive index (RI) influences the effective index of microfiber, and thus the free spectrum range of the microfiber FPI, resulting in RI sensing. A dual-wavelength fiber laser based on the microfiber FPI is constructed, enabling radio frequency interrogation with high resolution. RI sensitivity of 911 MHz/RIU is experimentally demonstrated for microfiber FPI with equivalent diameter of 1.455 μm. Simulation results indicate that the sensitivity can be further enhanced by reducing the diameter of the microfiber.  相似文献

A particular example of the so-called minimum-configuration fiber ring interferometer whose loop comprises two different-length segments of a single-mode optical fiber with the same linear birefringence but different twisting is used to show that even in the case where the birefringence axes at the loop input coincide with the polarizer transmission direction, the phenomenon of polarization nonreciprocity of the fiber ring interferometer can emerge. It is shown that polarization nonreciprocity can be eliminated by the proper adjustment of the axes of a single-mode optical fiber, but the above adjustment should be changed if the waveguide temperature is changed. It is also shown that polarization nonreciprocity is a function of the light wavelength and the polarization nonreciprocity value in a fiber ring interferometer varies quasiperiodically in response to the temperature change in an optical fiber with random irregularities.  相似文献

研究一种基于光纤Mach-Zehnder干涉仪结构的全光纤傅里叶变换光谱仪(fiber fourier transform spectrometer, FFTS)。设计了光程调制范围可达2 cm的压电陶瓷光纤相位调制器,代替传统傅里叶变换光谱仪中的动镜产生光程扫描。实验中采用1 310 nm DFB激光器作为参考光源,对测试光干涉图进行等光程间隔采样,以消除压电陶瓷非线性光程调制产生的误差。通过对测试光干涉图做傅里叶逆变换得到测试光光谱图。利用该FFTS系统测量了ASE宽带光源的光谱,并将测量结果和光栅光谱仪测量结果进行了对比,结果表明两者所测ASE光谱线型一致。最后,利用光纤光栅作为样品,对FFTS系统的光谱分辨率进行了检测,光谱分辨率达到了0.78 cm-1。  相似文献

提出了单层石墨烯包裹微纳光纤的全光空间调制.石墨烯作为可饱和吸收体包裹在通过二氧化碳激光器加热制备的微纳光纤上,当信号光沿着微纳光纤传输时部分光将以倏逝场的形式沿着微纳光纤表面传递,并与石墨烯产生作用被吸收.同时将波长为808 nm的抽运光从空间垂直入射到石墨烯包裹的微纳光纤处,依据石墨烯的优先吸收特性,通过抽运光控制石墨烯对信号光的吸收,实现了宽带全光空间调制.在1095 nm波长处获得最大调制深度约为6 dB,调制带宽约为50 nm,调制速率约为1.5 kHz.空间全光调制器具有输出信号光“干净”的特点.与传统石墨烯微纳光纤全光调制器相比,输出端不需要对抽运光进行光学滤波而直接获得已调信号.该复合波导全光空间调制器以更为灵活、高效的方式打开了微纳超快信号处理的大门.  相似文献

Nanostructured optical microfiber tips are proposed and experimentally demonstrated to efficiently confine light beyond the diffraction limit at high powers. Focused ion beam milling was used for the nanostructuring of gold-coated optical microfiber tips with both single-ramp and wedge geometries. Small apertures were formed by flat cutting or hole drilling and optical spot sizes of ∼λ/10 with high transmission efficiency were achieved. Numerical simulations were carried out to optimize the device design with circularly polarized light. Enhanced transmission efficiencies (higher than 10−2) were recorded by optimizing the overall light throughput along the fiber tips. The tip thermal behavior was investigated by launching high powers into the device and recording the tip position in a scanning near-field optical microscopy set-up. This nanostructured optical microfiber tip has the potential for applications in optical recording, scanning near-field optical microscopy and lithography.  相似文献

For the adiabatically deformed optical fiber the intermode transmission amplitudes and loss vanish exponentially with the characteristic length of the fiber's nonuniformity. For this reason smoothly deformed optical fiber tapers can have very small losses. However, losses dramatically increase with a thinning of the microfiber down to a diameter much smaller than the radiation wavelength. The theory of nonadiabatic intermode transitions is briefly discussed and, by using this theory, the problem of the smallest diameter of a microfiber that can transmit evanescent radiation is studied. It is shown that even for an extremely high uniformity of microfiber the ability of light transmission does not leave much space for microfiber thinning: the propagating mode vanishes at a threshold value of the microfiber's diameter, that is smaller than the radiation wavelength by only an order of magnitude.  相似文献

The microfiber loop supported by Al-coated silica rod is assembled. The critical coupling condition with a maximum extinction of 23.26 dB in the loop is achieved by tuning the coupling coefficient. The supercontinuum generation from single-mode fiber, optical microfiber and microfiber loop is investigated experimentally. Compared with single-mode fiber, spectrum broadening of optical fiber microwire is larger. We also demonstrate that the flatness of supercontinuum generated from the microfiber loop can be controlled by shifting the cross angle between two ports of the microfiber loop wrapped around silica rod. The properties of microfiber loop may provide opportunities for new application of supercontinuum.  相似文献

A sensing system,with Michelson-type fiber optical interferometer based on single fiber Bragg grating (FBG) as the reflector,is demonstrated.The system used a frequency-matched ring fiber optical laser as the source.The closed Michelson-type fiber optical interferometer system will be helpful in simplifying the developed interferometric sensor by replacing the double reflectors with only one FBG reflecting the doubleside light.The basic sensing properties of the system are demonstrated,with a fiber optic piezoelectric ceramic transducer embedded in the arm of the interferometer simulating the sensing signal.  相似文献

The optical characteristics of transparent lead magnesium niobate titanate (PMNT) electro-optic ceramic, including the electro-optic phase modulation, electric hysteresis property and thermo-optic coefficient, are investigated in detail. Based on this novel ceramic, a polarization independent electro-optic switch by using fiber Sagnac interferometer (FSI) structure is realized. An initial π-shift is introduced into the Sagnac loop to eliminate the effect of the polarization orientation of the incident light on the switch performance. Then an electrically controllable PMNT phase retarder is used to switch the optical signal between the reflection and transmission ports. Some theoretical analyses are given and the switch performances are also discussed, including the thermal characteristic and different switching frequency response.  相似文献

偏振诱导信号衰落现象的抑制是干涉型光纤传感系统的关键技术之一. 针对法拉第旋镜(FRM)法抑制偏振诱导信号衰落技术的残留偏振相位噪声问题进行了深入的理论和实验研究. 运用琼斯矩阵法建立了基于法拉第旋镜的干涉型光纤传感系统偏振相位噪声的理论模型; 分析了影响系统偏振相位噪声的主要原因: 法拉第旋镜的旋光角度偏差、入射光偏振态调制度、干涉仪两臂光纤双折射; 提出了相应的抑制偏振相位噪声的方法. 详细仿真分析了入射光偏振态调制度对干涉型光纤传感系统偏振相位噪声的影响, 仿真分析得出若法拉第旋镜旋光角度偏差为最大工艺制造误差1°, 当入射光偏振态调制度为1.84 rad时, 系统可能出现的最大偏振相位噪声为0.0815 rad. 最后, 搭建了基于M-Z型偏振态调制器的偏振相位噪声测试系统, 测试了在传输光纤受到外界偏振扰动的情况下, 干涉传感系统存在的偏振相位噪声, 实验测试结果与理论分析结果基本一致, 有力地证明了该偏振相位噪声理论分析模型的正确性.  相似文献

针对熔融拉锥系统制得的熔锥型微纳光纤耦合器,选择适当的连续函数描述其光场分布,采用归一化的三角分布和矩形分布的加权叠加,以及高斯分布和三角分布的加权叠加实现了模场沿耦合器区域的连续变化;利用局部模式耦合理论推导出腰区及腰区附近锥形区的耦合系数计算公式,并得到微纳光纤耦合器输出光功率随拉伸长度的变化曲线.计算结果表明,随着拉伸长度的增加,光能量在两臂中来回交替耦合的程度变小并且呈现包络样,直至腰区耦合功能消失.通过实时监测拉制微纳光纤耦合器的输出光功率,得到火焰扫描宽度以及氢气流量对双纤失去耦合效应拉伸长度的影响:火焰扫描宽度(均匀腰区)越宽,拉伸长度临界值越大;氢气流量(熔融度)越大,拉伸长度临界值越小.实验结果显示,当光纤耦合器腰区直径达到1.6μm时,耦合功能消失,两输出端口光功率相同且恒定,微纳光纤耦合器具备稳定的光学传输特性.  相似文献

A fiber interferometer for absolute distance measurements is presented whereby wavelength variation is achieved via a sinusoidal strain modulation of a fiber Bragg grating to generate a series of beat wavelengths. The interferometer employs fiber laser sources where the design is based on the use of narrow-bandwidth fiber Bragg gratings. The accuracy of the beat wavelengths is improved compared to the use of multiple wavelengths measured with conventional optical spectrum analyzers or available wavemeters. Initial measurements are presented for beat wavelengths of 254.74 mm and 27.4 m over an optical path difference of 200 mm and 3.8 m, respectively. Combined with a two (or three) wavelength interferometer, this technique has the potential for ultrahigh dynamic range metrology ranging over several meters while preserving subfringe resolution and a low system complexity.  相似文献

Tilted fiber Bragg gratings with different tilt angles have been inscribed in single-mode isotropic optical fiber with an increased photorefractivity using Talbot interferometer and KrF-excimer laser system. Their spectra are studied. Using a confocal laser scanning luminescent microscope the images of gratings in transmitted light were obtained. The calculated dependence of the slope angle of the grating recorded in the Talbot interferometer on the angle between the strokes of the interference pattern created in the interferometer and the transverse section of the optical fiber is experimentally verified.  相似文献

采用有限元法仿真了微纳光纤中模式在镀膜前后的能量、电场及有效折射率变化,分析了HE11、TE01、HE21和TM01模式在微纳光纤中的传输特性以及与铂金膜的相互作用原理。采用缓冲氧化物刻蚀液制作了微纳光纤并用离子喷溅法镀铂金膜,得到直径为13.2μm、铂金膜厚度为40 nm的微纳光纤器件,测试了其可饱和吸收特性,调制深度和饱和强度分别为0.57%和0.8 MW/cm2。制作了全光纤锁模激光器,锁模阈值为180 mW。锁模脉冲重复频率为17.93 MHz,脉冲宽度为103 ps,中心波长为1 031.6 nm,半高宽约为3.5 nm。  相似文献

根据液晶的动态响应和位相调制特性,研究了一种利用液晶显示器进行光学检测的检测方法.实验中,把液晶显示器改造为纯位相的空间光调制器,并测定了它的位相调制特性.实验测得:改造后的液晶显示器可实现1 λ(λ=632.8 nm)的调制量.通过引入相息图的方法,实现了液晶空间光调制器的大位相调制量.并产生了调制量为3.4 λ的球面波.最后,利用液晶显示器检测了凸透镜的前表面.检测结果发现,干涉条纹为平行直条纹且PV值为0.32λ.  相似文献
