Summary We introduce the notion of homogeneous perfect sets as a generalization of Cantor type sets and determine their exact dimension based on the length of their fundamental intervals and the gaps between them. Some earlier results regarding the dimension of Cantor type sets are shown to be special cases of our main theorem. 相似文献

An approach is given for estimating the Hausdorff dimension of the univoque set of a self-similar set. This sometimes allows us to get the exact Hausdorff dimensions of the univoque sets. 相似文献

The self-similar sets satisfying the open condition have been studied. An estimation of fractal, by the definition can only
give the upper limit of its Hausdorff measure. So to judge if such an upper limit is its exact value or not is important.
A negative criterion has been given. As a consequence, the Marion’s conjecture on the Hausdorff measure of the Koch curve
has been proved invalid.

In this paper we obtain a lower bound for the Hausdorff dimension of recurrent sets and, in a general setting, we show that a conjecture of Dekking [F.M. Dekking, Recurrent sets: A fractal formalism, Report 82-32, Technische Hogeschool, Delft, 1982] holds. 相似文献

For a compact set and a point , we define the visible part of from to be the set (Here denotes the closed line segment joining to .)
In this paper, we use energies to show that if is a compact connected set of Hausdorff dimension greater than one, then for (Lebesgue) almost every point , the Hausdorff dimension of is strictly less than the Hausdorff dimension of . In fact, for almost every ,
We also give an estimate of the Hausdorff dimension of those points where the visible set has dimension greater than for some .

§ 1 IntroductionThe class of Cantor sets is a typical one of sets in fractal geometry.Mathematicianshave paid their attentions to such sets for a long time.Itis well known that the Hausdorffmeasure of the Cantor middle- third set is1(see[1]) .Recently,Feng[3] obtained the exactvalues of the packing measure for a class of linear Cantor sets.Using Feng s method,Zhuand Zhou[5] obtained the exactvalue of Hausdorff centred measure of the symmetry Cantorsets. In this papar,we consider the Ha… 相似文献

In this paper we study a class of subsets of the general Sierpinski carpets for which the allowed two digits in the expansions occur with proportional frequency. We calculate the Hausdorff and box dimensions of these subsets and give necessary and sufficient conditions for the corresponding Hausdorff measure to be positive finite. 相似文献

Suppose a quadratic rational map has a Siegel disk and a parabolic fixed point. If the rotation number of the Siegel disk is an irrational of bounded type, then the Julia set of the map is shallow. This implies that its Hausdorff dimension is strictly less than two. 相似文献

For every prime p and every monic polynomial f, invertible over p, we define a group G
p, f
of p-adic automorphisms of the p-ary rooted tree. The groups are modeled after the first Grigorchuk group, which in this setting is the group . We show that the constructed groups are self-similar, regular branch groups. This enables us to calculate the Hausdorff
dimension of their closures, providing concrete examples (not using random methods) of topologically finitely generated closed
subgroups of the group of p-adic automorphisms with Hausdorff dimension arbitrarily close to 1. We provide a characterization of finitely constrained
groups in terms of the branching property, and as a corollary conclude that all defined groups are finitely constrained. In
addition, we show that all infinite, finitely constrained groups of p-adic automorphisms have positive and rational Hausdorff dimension and we provide a general formula for Hausdorff dimension
of finitely constrained groups. Further “finiteness” properties are also discussed (amenability, torsion and intermediate
growth).

We study the Hausdorff dimensions of invariant sets for self-similarand self-affine iterated function systems in the Heisenberggroup. In our principal result we obtain almost sure formulaefor the dimensions of self-affine invariant sets, extendingto the Heisenberg setting some results of Falconer and Solomyakin Euclidean space. As an application, we complete the proofof the comparison theorem for Euclidean and Heisenberg Hausdorffdimension initiated by Balogh, Rickly and Serra-Cassano. 2000Mathematics Subject Classification 22E30, 28A78 (primary), 26A18,28A78 (secondary). 相似文献

A perturbed Cantor set (without the uniform boundedness condition away from zero of contraction ratios) whose upper Cantor
dimension and lower Cantor dimension coincide has its Hausdorff dimension of the same value of Cantor dimensions. We will
show this using an energy theory instead of Frostman's density lemma which was used for the case of the perturbed Cantor set
with the uniform boundedness condition. At the end, we will give a nontrivial example of such a perturbed Cantor set.

In this paper,we provide a new effective method for computing the exact value of Hausdorff measures of a class of self-similar sets satisfying the open set condition(OSC).As applications,we discuss a self-similar Cantor set satisfying OSC and give a simple method for computing its exact Hausdorff measure. 相似文献

It is known that, unlike the Hausdorff dimension, the Assouad dimension of a self-similar set can exceed the similarity dimension if there are overlaps in the construction. Our main result is the following precise dichotomy for self-similar sets in the line: either the weak separation property is satisfied, in which case the Hausdorff and Assouad dimensions coincide; or the weak separation property is not satisfied, in which case the Assouad dimension is maximal (equal to one). In the first case we prove that the self-similar set is Ahlfors regular, and in the second case we use the fact that if the weak separation property is not satisfied, one can approximate the identity arbitrarily well in the group generated by the similarity mappings, and this allows us to build a weak tangent that contains an interval. We also obtain results in higher dimensions and provide illustrative examples showing that the ‘equality/maximal’ dichotomy does not extend to this setting. 相似文献

Besicovitch (1934) and Eggleston (1949) analyzed subsets of points of the unit interval with given frequencies in the figures of their base- expansions. We extend this analysis to self-similar sets, by replacing the frequencies of figures with the frequencies of the generating similitudes. We focus on the interplay among such sets, self-similar measures, and Hausdorff measures. We give a fine-tuned classification of the Hausdorff measures according to the singularity of the self-similar measures with respect to those measures. We show that the self-similar measures are concentrated on sets whose frequencies of similitudes obey the Law of the Iterated Logarithm.

In this paper we study a class of subset of Sierpinski carpets for which the allowed digits in the expansions fall into each fiber set with a prescribed frequency. We calculate the Hausdorff and packing dimensions of these subsets and give necessary and sufficient conditions for the corresponding Hausdorff and packing measures to be finite. 相似文献

A very important property of a deterministic self-similar set is that its Hausdorff dimension and upper box-counting dimension coincide. This paper considers the random case. We show that for a random self-similar set, its Hausdorff dimension and upper box-counting dimension are equal
