We examine the question on solvability in the Sobolev spaces of coefficient inverse problems for parabolic systems of equations with the overdetermination conditions on a collection of surfaces. Under certain conditions on the geometry of the domain and the boundary operators, the local solvability of the problem is proven. It is demonstrated that the conditions on the boundary operators are sharp and that, in some cases, the problem is not unconditionally solvable.  相似文献

The imbedding problem for p-groups is considered in which the fields are assumed to be local and the kernel commutative. Additional conditions are investigated under which a solvable imbedding problem has a field as solution. We study the solvability of the Gellerstedt problem for the Lavrent’ev–Bitsadze equation. An initial function is posed in the ellipticity domain of the equation on the boundary of the unit half-circle with center the origin. Zero conditions are posed on characteristics in the hyperbolicity domain of the equation. “Frankl-type conditions” are posed on the type change line of the equation. We show that the problem is either conditionally solvable or uniquely solvable. We obtain a closed-form solvability condition in the case of conditional solvability. We derive integral representations of the solution in all cases.  相似文献

The embedding problem of number fields is considered. It is proved that the problem is solvable if and only if all associated local problems corresponding to infinite points are solvable. It is also proved that the solvability of the adjoined problem with Sylow 2-group implies the solvability of the original problem. An example is given to show that even in a variety whose free word problem (identity problem) is solvable, the free product of two recursive presentations with solvable word problems may have unsolvable word problem. Under some extra conditions on the syntax of the identities defining the variety however, the free product is shown to preserve solvability of the word problem for recursive presentations. The conditions can be checked mechanically, and common varieties such as semigroups and groups satisfy them, as well as many less familiar varieties. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the feasibility and solvability of vector complementarity problems. We prove that, under suitable conditions, the vector complementarity problem with a pseudomonotonicity assumption is solvable whenever it is strictly feasible. By strengthening the generalized monotonicity condition, we show also that the homogeneous vector complementarity problem is solvable whenever it is feasible. The bilinear transformation is used to establish a direct relationship between a discrete-time algebraic Riccati inequality (DARI) and an associated continuous-time algebraic Riccati inequality (CARI). It is shown that under mild conditions, the DARI is solvable if and only if the corresponding CARI is solvable. The relationship between the DARI and the CARI is then used to translate the general solvability conditions for a CARI given by Scherer into analogous conditions for the DARI. It is shown how such conditions can be applied to determine the solvability of a discrete-time H control problem whose solution set is characterized by two DARIs.  相似文献

We investigate the tracking control problem for switched linear time-varying delays systems with stabilizable and unstabilizable subsystems. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of the tracking control problem are developed. The tracking control problem of a switched time-varying delays system with stabilizable and unstabilizable subsystems is solvable if the stabilizable and unstabilizable subsystems satisfy certain conditions and admissible switching law among them. Average dwell time approach and piecewise Lyapunov functional methods are utilized to the stability analysis and controller design. By introducing the integral controllers and free weighting matrix scheme, some restricted assumptions imposing on the switched systems are avoided. A simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.  相似文献

A new model three-dimensional third-order equation of Hamilton-Jacobi type is derived. For this equation, the initial boundary-value problem in a bounded domain with smooth boundary is studied and local solvability in the strong generalized sense is proved; in addition, sufficient conditions for the blow-up in finite time and sufficient conditions for global (in time) solvability are obtained.  相似文献

Let L be a differential operator on whose principal part is of the form , where and , are the usual vector fields generating the Lie algebra of the Heisenberg group . We study the problem of local solvability of these doubly characteristic operators. The whole class of operators splits into three subclasses, depending on the sign of a respective determinant. The operators in the first subclass, when the determinant is negative, are generically non-solvable. The operators in the second subclass, when the determinant is positive, are solvable, for arbitrary left-invariant lower order terms, provided that the coefficient matrix is non-degenerate. This fact seems remarkable, since many of these operators have the property that the values taken by their principal symbol are not contained in any proper subcone of the complex plane. We consider a mixed problem in a half-strip for a hyperbolic system with one space variable and with constant coefficients. The control problem is to find boundary conditions ensuring that the system has a given state vector at a given instant of time. We study whether the problem is asymptotically solvable, i.e., whether there exists a sequence of boundary conditions such that the corresponding sequence of final state vectors uniformly converges to the given vector. We reduce the construction of a family of such sequences of boundary conditions with a function parameter to the solution of a Fredholm integral equation of the second kind and prove a sufficient condition for its unique solvability in terms of the problem data.  相似文献

We study solvability of the Darboux-type boundary value problem for a third-order linear partial differential equation with dominated lower-order terms. We indicate function spaces in which the problem is uniquely solvable and Hausdorff normally solvable. We study the solvability of the Tricomi problem for the Lavrent’ev-Bitsadze equation with mixed boundary conditions in the elliptic part of the domain. On the type change line of the equation, the solution gradient is subjected to a condition that is usually referred to as the generalized Frankl transmission condition. We show that the inhomogeneous Tricomi problem either has a unique solution or is conditionally solvable and the homogeneous problem has only the trivial solution.
