Dioctylarsinic acid, HDOAA, in chloroform solution has been investigated as a reagent for the extraction of iron(III) chloride. The extraction coefficient reaches two maxima, one of 1.5 at 8.5 M hydrochloric acid and another of 7 at pH 2.3. Experiments in the range 4–8 M for sulfuric, nitric and perchloric acids showed no extraction of iron(III) from these solutions for extraction times of 6 h. Evidence for the extraction of H3FeCl6 from 4–9 M hydrochloric acid solutions as [(H2DOAA)+]3FeCl63- is presented. The species extracted from aqueous solutions of pH 1–2.3 is probably a hydroxy complex of the composition [Fe2(DOAA)2(HDOAA)X4(H20)2 ](X = OH and/or Cl).  相似文献

Tri-n-octylphosphine sulfide (TOPS) has been investigated as the stationary phase in reversed-phase partition paper Chromatographie separations using nitric or hydrochloric acids as the mobile phase. TOPS has also been studied as an extractant for metal ions. Silver, mercury (II), and palladium (II) were found to have RF values of zero when nitric acid was used as the mobile phase. These same ions were also selectively extracted from aqueous nitric acid solutions. Gold(III), mercury(II), palladium (II), and platinum (IV) were found to have RF values of zero when hydrochloric acid was used as the mobile phase. However, only gold(III) and mercury(II) were extracted from aqueous hydrochloric acid solutions in liquid-liquid extraction systems. Several separations were successfully performed from 1 M nitric acid.  相似文献

Cross-linked chitosan was synthesized with chitosan and ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether. The adsorption behavior of trace amounts of metal ions on the cross-linked chitosan was systematically examined by packing it in a mini-column, passing a metal solution through it and measuring metal ions in the effluent by ICP-MS. The cross-linked chitosan adsorbed mercury and precious metals (Pd, Pt, and Au) at pH values from acidic to neutral. Especially, mercury in concentrated hydrochloric acids could be adsorbed on cross-linked chitosan quantitatively by an anion-exchange mechanism in the form of a stable chloride complex. This method was applied to the removal of mercury from commercially available hydrochloric acid; more than 97% of mercury was removed, and the residual mercury in the hydrochloric acid (Grade: for trace analysis) was found to be 0.15 ppb. Mercury adsorbed on the cross-linked chitosan could be easily desorbed with an eluent containing I M hydrochloric acid and 0.05 M thiourea. The thus-refreshed cross-linked chitosan could be repeatedly used for the removal of mercury in hydrochloric acid.  相似文献

Dioctylarsinic acid (HDOAA) in chloroform solution extracts Nb(V) and Ta(V) efficiently from solutions containing oxalate and oxalic acid at hydrochloric acid concentrations greater than 1M.The extraction coefficients are 92.5 at 7M hydrochloric acid and 251 at 6M hydrochloric acid for niobium and tantalum, respectively. These metals can be extracted even more efficiently from sulfuric acid solutions. The results of the reagent- and pH-dependence studies suggested that a trimeric, monobasic oxoacid of niobium, associated with ten HDOAA molecules, is extracted. Tantalum appears to be present in the organic phase as (H2DOAA)+ [Ta(C2O4)3 (HDOAAn] (n=l or 2).  相似文献

Silica gel impregnated with a mixture of Aliquat 336 and Calcon was used as chelating sorbent for preconcentration of metals from dilute aqueous solutions and their separation as well as for additional purification of analytical grade sodium and potassium salts from other metals. The relative capacities of sorbent towards 33 metal ions were determined in the pH range 1-9 as well as the concentrations of hydrochloric and perchloric acid eluting the retained metals. It was found that Calcon was not eluted from sorbent with 5M perchloric and 10M hydrochloric acids. The rate of sorption for Mg, Ca, Cu, Zn, Al, Cr(III) and Fe(III) was also studied and it was found that relatively high flow-rates (up to 5 ml/min) can be used for solutions passed through the column. The sorbent was used for preconcentration of traces of some metals from aqueous solutions before their determination by AAS, for separation of metal ion mixtures by column extraction chromatography and for additional purification of potassium chloride solutions used as supporting electrolyte in determination of some heavy metals by anodic stripping voltammetry.  相似文献

A macroreticular polystyrene-based chelating resin with oxime and diethylamino functional groups has been synthesized. The resin is stable in acid and alkaline solutions; no decrease in nitrogen content or capacity for sorption of copper(II) is observed when it is exposed to 3M hydrochloric acid and 1M sodium hydroxide for 7 days. The resin has higher selectivity for copper(II) than for other metal ions tested and the time required for 50% uptake of copper(II) is 15 min. The highest capacity for copper(II) is 2.0 mmole/g at pH 6.0. In a column operation, quantitative recovery of copper(II) is achieved by elution with 1M hydrochloric acid, and the resin can be used repeatedly.  相似文献

Selective recovery and concentration of platinum(IV) and palladium(II) from hydrochloric acid solutions of varied composition was studied using commercial reagents propiconazole and penconazole as extractants. The ranges of hydrochloric acid concentrations for effective extraction and highly selective separation of platinum metals from Al(III) and Ni(II) with propiconazole (toluene with 15 vol % n-decanol as deluent) and penconazole (chloroform) were determined. The conditions for 10-fold selective concentration of platinum metals with recovery of more than 99.9% of metal ions into the organic phase were found. The conditions for quantitative (>99%) stripping of platinum(IV) with a hydrochloric acid solution of thiourea and palladium(II) with ammonia solution were determined. The results obtained can be used for optimizing the modes of selective recovery of platinum(IV) and palladium(II) from hydrochloric acid solutions formed in leaching of alumina-supported platinum-rhenium, platinum-nickel, and palladium catalysts.  相似文献

Sorption of nonferrous metal ions under static conditions by a composite sorbent based on titanium phosphate was studied. The distribution coefficients and exchange constants for Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II) were calculated from the experimental data. The kinetics of the sorption of multiply charged ions from dilute hydrochloric acid solutions was studied, and the diffusion coefficients of exchanging ions were determined.  相似文献

This work focuses on the application of polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) with tricaprylmethylammonium thiosalicylate, [A336][TS] (TOMATS), a thiol-containing task-specific ionic liquid for the transport of Pd(II) ions from aqueous solutions. 0.3 M thiourea in 0.1 M hydrochloric acid was found the most effective stripping phase in the transport of Pd(II) from membrane phase containing TOMATS. Separation of Pd(II) ions was also carried out from hydrochloric acid solution containing Pt(IV), Fe(III), Ni(II), and Mn(II). Pd(II) ions were preferably transported in the presence of these metal ions. The separation coefficients followed the order: S Pd/Pt < S Pd/Fe < S Pd/Ni < S Pd/Mn. [A336][TS] proved to be an excellent ion carrier for Pd(II) from hydrochloric acid solution. The results also showed that transport efficiency of the PIM was reproducible and it can be useful for the development of the simple and highly effective method of Pd(II) recovery from leach liquor of spent catalysts.  相似文献

The adsorption isotherms of MCl(2) (M Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd) and FeCl(3) by silica gel chemically modified with benzimidazole molecules ( Si(CH(2))(3)NC(7)H(5)N) were studied in ethanol solution at 298 K. A column made of modified silica was used to adsorb and preconcentrate the above metal ions from ethanol solution. Elution was done with 0.1 M hydrochloric acid in an ethanol/water mixture having a mole fraction of water of 0.8. The material was applied in the preconcentration of metal ions from commercial ethanol normally used as engine fuel.  相似文献

The distribution of iron(III) between aqueous hydrochloric acid and 0.1M 2-hexylpyridine in benzene was examined as a function of acid concentration in the aqueous solution, the metal concentration being kept constant, and as a function of increasing ferric chloride concentration at a constant acidity of hydrochloric acid. The distribution coefficient of Fe(III) (tracer) is dependent on the square of the 2-hexylpyridine concentration in the benzene phase. Negatively charged complexes of the type FeCl(2-)(5) may be the species extracted. The formation of a mixture of 1:1 and 1:2 complexes with 2-hexylpyridine is indicated. Salting-out effects of a number of salts have been investigated. Separation factors of several metal ions relative to iron(III) in 7M hydrochloric acid are also reported. The results indicate that iron(III) can be selectively separated from a large number of elements, and the method has been utilized for the preconcentration of non-ferrous metal ions in mild steels by selective separation of iron, before their subsequent determination by emission spectrometry.  相似文献

5-(4-Pyridyl)nonane has been evaluated as a solvent for trace amounts (<5·10–5 M) of tungsten(VI) from aqueous chloride-thiocyanate solutions. Remarkable enhancements in metal extractability are observed on the addition of SCN to aqueous hydrochloric acid solutions. Extremal partition coefficients are obtained from 0.1 M HCl in 0.2 M KSCN. Diminutions of the metal extractability are produced by relatively high (>0.5 M) SCN concentrations and increased concentration of the supporting acid. Slope analysis data, under optimal parameters, indicates the most probable composition of the extractable species as WO2(SCN)2·2PYN. Neutral anions do not have any significant effect on the D values. Behaviour of a number of metal ions has been checked using optimal aqueous conditions of extraction. The investigation shows that the reagent has a great potential for the preconcentration of a number of metal ions including the common toxins.  相似文献

A novel unsymmetrical multidentate ligand namely; N,N'-dimetyl-N,N'-didecyldithiodiglycolamide (DMD3TDGA) was synthesized and used as agent for the selective extraction of palladium(II) from hydrochloric acid solutions. A systematic investigation was carried out on the extraction of Pd(II) using DMD3TDGA. The quantitative extraction of Pd(II) with DMD3TDGA in n-dodecane is observed at ~4 M HCl. The main extracted species of Pd(II) is PdCl2. DMD3TDGA and IR spectra of the extracted species were investigated. The extraction of palladium(II) from various concentrations of hydrochloric acid solutions in the presence of metal ions, such as Pt(IV), Rh(III), Cr(II), Ni(II), Fe(III), Nd(III), Zr(II), and Mn(II) was carried. DMD3TDGA showed very high selectivity and extractability for Pd(II). Quantitative back extraction of Pd(II) was obtained in single contact using thiourea solution. The results obtained indicated that, excellent separation of Pd(II) from the investigated metal ions can be achieved. Five successive cycles of extraction/back-extraction, indicating excellent stability and re-utilization of this new extractant can be used for selective separation of Pd(II) from other elements in hydrochloric acid medium.  相似文献

Well-defined polarograms of five alkali-metal ions in 0.01M hydrochloric acid were obtained by means of modified normal pulse polarography. The method uses the procedure of anodic stripping chronoamperometry during the life-time of a drop from a dropping mercury electrode, namely preparation of electrode, accumulating step and anodic stripping step of a metal. The instantaneous polarographic currents were sampled only once per mercury drop after the fall of each pulse. The wave heights for alkali-metal ions by the present method are free from the interference caused by 0.01M hydrochloric acid. The present method is applicable to monitoring of alkali-metal ions in fluid acid streams.  相似文献

The extraction of chromium(VI) from aqueous hydrochloric, nitric and sulfuric acid solutions by diphenyl-2-pyridylmethane(DPPM) dissolved in chloroform has been studied. Chromium(VI) is quantitatively extracted from hydrochloric acid solutions in the range 0.1–1M. With increasing acid concentration, the extraction of chromium diminishes and in concentrated acid solutions practically all the chromium remains in the aqueous phase. The quantitative back-extraction of chromium from the organic phase is possible with HCl or HNO3 at concentrations higher than 5M through the use of reducing agents. The composition of the extracted chromium(VI) species was studied in solution. The complexes (DPPMH)+HCrO 4 and (DPPMH)2Cr2O 7 are extracted for tracer and macro amounts of chromium(VI) respectively. The data have been utilized for the separation of chromium(VI) from base metal ions.  相似文献

We have modified silica-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles with 2,6-diaminopyridine and used these for selective magnetic solid-phase extraction of trace amounts of metal ions. The nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Quantitative extraction of trace amounts of Cu(II) and Zn(II) from mixed-ion solutions was accomplished at an optimal pH value of 6 within less than 10?min. The metal ions were eluted from the sorbent with hydrochloric acid. Common electrolytes and chemically related metal ions do not interfere. The relative standard deviations of the method are <4?%. It was successfully applied to the separation and preconcentration of trace metal ions from the certified reference materials GBW 08301 (river sediment) and GBW 08607 (water solution), in natural water, and in samples of vegetable with satisfying results.  相似文献

Ultraviolet absorption spectra of 66 metal ions in aqueous 6M hydrochloric acid were recorded and the spectra of 36 metal ions that absorb appreciably are reported. The absorption of these metal ions is sufficient to permit their detection in liquid chromatography.  相似文献

Sorption recovery of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) in their joint presence in sulfuric acid solutions was studied on new samples of domestic ion exchangers of CYBBER brand. It was shown that the ion exchangers under study have a high sorption capacity for ions of both nonferrous metals, depending on the structure of a sorbent and on the acidity of a contacting solution. It was found that, after Co(II) and Ni(II) ions are extracted from weak or strong sulfuric acid solutions, they can be effectively eluted from the ion exchangers under study with a 2 M hydrochloric acid solution to an extent of 85–95% (nickel) and 87–95% (cobalt).  相似文献

Diphenyl-2-pyridylmethane, a high molecular weight substituted pyridine has been examined and found to be a useful solvent extraction reagent. Its behaviour is similar to amines in that it forms salts with mineral acids. The acid ionization constant (pKBH +) determined spectrophotometrically has a value of 4.41±0.06 at 25 °C. A study of the partition behaviour of trace amounts of gold between mineral acid solutions and 0.1M diphenyl-2-pyridylmethane dissolved in chloroform indicates that the metal can be quantitatively extracted from dilute mineral acid solutions and also from concentrated hydrochloric acid media in a single extraction. Attempts have been made to gain an understanding of factors affecting the extraction of gold. Common anions have little effect on extraction in concentrations upto 1M. Separation factors of a number of metal ions relative to gold are reported for three mineral acid systems; and gold has been estimated in some synthetic samples using neutron activation technique by prior extraction with 0.1M solution of diphenyl-2-pyridylmethane dissolved in chloroform.  相似文献

The sorption of 14 metal ions on silica gel impregnated with a mixture of Aliquat 336 and Eriochrome Blue SE was investigated. It was found that the sorption behaviour depends upon the species and the pH of the loading solution. Alkali metal ions were not retained under any of the investigated conditions. The retained metal ions can be eluted with dilute solutions of hydrochloric or perchloric acid without significant elution of the chelating reagent from the sorbent. The sorbent was used for the separation of metal ion mixtures by column — extraction chromatography and for additional purification of some salt solutions from trace amounts of Zn, Cd, Pb and Cu. The effectiveness of purification was confirmed by anodic stripping voltammetry.  相似文献
