New solid complexes of a herbicide known as dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) with Pb(II), Cd(II), Cu(II) and Hg(II)
of the general formula M(dicamba)2·xH2O (M=metal, x=0-2) and Zn2(OH)(dicamba)3·2H2O have been prepared and studied. The complexes have different crystal structures. The carboxylate groups in the lead, cadmium
and copper complexes are bidentate, chelating, symmetrical, in Hg(dicamba)2·2H2O - unidentate, and in the zinc salt - bidentate, bridging, symmetrical. The anhydrous compounds decompose in three stages,
except for the lead salt whose decomposition proceeds in four stages. The main gaseous decomposition products are CO2, CH3OH, HCl and H2O. Trace amounts of compounds containing an aromatic ring were also detected. The final solid decomposition products are oxychlorides
of metals and CuO.

The application of anodic stripping voltammetry, with a hanging mercury drop electrode, to the determination of zinc, cadmium, lead and copper in airborne particulate matter collected by filtration is discussed. This procedure allows for the destruction of the filter material followed by the complete dissolution (including silicates) of the collected particulate matter. A low-temperature ashing process is described and the recovery of cadmium in this procedure is studied. Analytical data obtained by anodic stripping and atomic absorption for zinc, cadmium, lead and copper are compared. 相似文献

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were used successfully for the removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution. Characterization techniques showed the carbon as nanotubes with an average diameter between 40 and 60 nm and a specific surface area of 61.5 m2 g?1. The effect of carbon nanotubes mass, contact time, metal ions concentration, solution pH, and ionic strength on the adsorption of Cu(II), Pb(II), Cd(II) and Zn(II) by MWCNTs were studied and optimized. The adsorption of the heavy metals from aqueous solution by MWCNTs was studied kinetically using different kinetic models. A pseudo-second order model and the Elovich model were found to be in good agreement with the experimental data. The mechanism of adsorption was studied by the intra-particle diffusion model, and the results showed that intra-particle diffusion was not the slowest of the rate processes that determined the overall order. This model also revealed that the interaction of the metal ions with the MWCNTs surface might have been the most significant rate process. There was a competition among the metal ions for binding of the active sites present on the MWCNTs surface with affinity in the following order: Cu(II) > Zn(II) > Pb(II) > Cd(II). 相似文献

Stability constants of cyanoacetato complexes of cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II), cadmium(II) and lead(II) were determined potentiometrically at 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees and ionic strength 2M (sodium perchlorate). The stability constants were evaluated by a weighted least-squares method. 相似文献

The factors influencing the formation of metal hexacyano-ferrate(II) complexes have been examined and the experimental conditions leading to formation of M(2)Fe(CN)(6), and K(2)M(3)[Fe(CN)(6)](2) have been studied, where M is Cu(II) or Zn(II); Ag(I) yields Ag(4)Fe(CN)(6). and KAg(3)Fe(CN)(6) and Pb(II) yields only Pb(2)Fe(CN)(6). Measurements made at constant ionic strength obtained by addition of K(2)SO(4) show how the potassium ion affects the stabilization of the complexes. The free energy changes and K(sp) values for the complexes have been calculated. 相似文献

The mechanically activated solid-phase reaction of copper, zinc, and cadmium chlorides with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate is studied. The course of the process and the extent of reaction are studied as affected by the parameters of the mechanical activation, subsequent heat treatment of the activated mixtures, and the nature of the reagents. Vacuum sublimation isolated zinc, copper, and cadmium diethyldithiocarbamates from mechanically activated mixtures. The extent of reaction reaches 97–99%. 相似文献

The molar heat capacity and the standard (p 0 = 0.1 MPa) molar enthalpies of formation of the crystalline of bis(glycinate)lead(II), Pb(gly)2; bis(dl-alaninate)lead(II), Pb(dl-ala)2; bis(dl-valinate)lead(II), Pb(dl-val)2; bis(dl-valinate)cadmium(II), Cd(dl-val)2 and bis(dl-valinate)zinc(II), Zn(dl-val)2, were determined, at T = 298.15 K, by differential scanning calorimetry, and high precision solution-reaction calorimetry, respectively. The standard molar enthalpies of formation of the complexes in the gaseous state, the mean molar metal–ligand dissociation enthalpies, M(II)–amino acid, \( \langle D_{\text{m}} \rangle \)(M–L), were derived and compared with analogous copper(II)–ligand and nickel(II)–ligand.θθ

Three types of agricultural waste, citrus maxima peel (CM), passion fruit shell (PF) and sugarcane bagasse (SB), were used to produce biosorbents for removing the heavy metal ions of copper(II), cadmium(II), nickel(II) and lead(II) from a pH 5.0 solution. The properties of biosorbents were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), zeta potential analyzer, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, elemental analyzer and tests of cation exchange capacity (CEC). The result indicated that the selected biosorbents possess rich carboxyl (COOH) and hydroxyl (OH) groups to produce a complexation with the heavy metals. Moreover, the negative surface charge of the biosorbent might adsorb the metal ions through the ion exchange. All of the adsorption isotherms indicated that L-type characters represented complexation and ion exchanges that were the adsorption mechanisms of biosorbents toward heavy metals. Biosorbents with higher oxygen content might generate high adsorption capacities. The adsorption capacities of CM and PF, estimated from the fitting to the Langmuir isotherm, are similar to those reported by others regarding biosorbents. 相似文献

A stable chelating resin matrix was synthesized by covalently linking o-aminophenol (o-AP) with the benzene ring of the polystyrene–divinylbenzene resin, Amberlite XAD-2, through a –N=N– group. Elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and infrared spectra have characterized the resulting chelating resin. It has been used to preconcentrate Cu2+, Cd2+, Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+ and Pb2+, prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. The optimum pH values for quantitative sorption of Cu, Cd, Co, Ni, Zn and Pb are 6.2–7.4, 5.6–7.2, 5.6–9.0, 6.0–9.0, 5.7–7.0 and 5.0–6.0, respectively. These metals are desorbed (recovery 91–98%) with 4 mol dm−3 HNO3. The sorption capacity of the resin is 3.37, 3.42, 3.29, 3.24, 2.94 and 3.32 mg of metal g−1 of resin, respectively, for Cu, Cd, Co, Ni, Zn and Pb. The effect of NaF, NaCl, NaNO3, Na2SO4, and Na3PO4 on the sorption of these metal ions has been investigated. These electrolytes are tolerable up to 0.01 mol dm−3 in case of all the metal ions, except Cl− which is tolerable even up to 0.1 mol dm−3 for Zn and 1.0 mol dm−3 for Pb. The preconcentration factor for Cu, Cd, Co, Ni, Zn and Pb are 50, 50, 100, 65, 40 and 40 (concentration level 10–25 μg dm−3) respectively. Simultaneous enrichment of the six metals is possible. The method has been applied to determine Cu, Cd, Co, Ni, Zn and Pb content in well water samples (RSD≤8%). 相似文献

Summary The sample of seawater (51) is freed from solid particles, buffered at pH 5.6 and percolated through a column filled with ED3A. After sample passage 15 ml 1 M hydrochloric acid solution are pumped through the column to dissolve the concentrated ions. The final measurement using flame atomic absorption is carried out in the hydrochloric acid solution. The total labour time is less than 15 min. The standard deviations (4 analyses) for the determination of Cu, Pb and Zn (in the normal concentration range of 2–6 g · l–1) were 2–5%, 5% and 1–10%, the recoveries 100%, 102% and 104%, respectively. A concentration coefficient of 300–500 was obtained. On leave from Lisbon University, Portugal 相似文献

The interaction of two symmetrically branched tris-cyclam derivatives based on 1,3,5-trimethylenebenzene and phloroglucinol cores with nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) is reported. All four metal ions yield solid complexes in which the metal : ligand ratio is 3 : 1. For both ligand types, spectrophotometric titrations confirm the formation of nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes of similar 3 : 1 stoichiometry in dimethyl sulfoxide. Visible spectral, electrochemical, magnetic moment, ESR and NMR studies have been performed to probe the nature of the respective complexes. Where appropriate, the results from the above metal-ion studies are compared with those from parallel investigations in which the corresponding (substituted) mono-cyclam analogues were employed as the ligands. A structural determination employing a poorly diffracting crystal of the trinuclear nickel(II) complex of the tris-cyclam ligand incorporating a 1,3,5-trimethylenebenzene core was successfully carried out with the aid of a synchrotron radiation source. A nickel ion occupies each cyclam ring in a square-planar coordination arrangement, with each cyclam ring adopting the stable trans-III configuration. 相似文献

A combined standardless method (no calibration of the device against standard solutions or use of the method of additives is required) for determination of lead, copper, and cadmium in aqueous solutions is suggested. The method operates on principles of inversion voltammetry and potentiostatic coulometry. It is convenient for automated analysis of technological solutions and wastewater from electroplating and hydrometallurgical shops. 相似文献

Three complexes, namely Zn(BDC-Cl4)(py)3 (1), Cu(BDC-Cl4)(py)3 (2) and Cd(BDC-Cl4)(py)3 (3) (BDC-Cl4 = 2,3,5,6-tetrachloro-1,4-benzenedicarboxylate, py = pyridine) have been synthesized. Complexes (1) and (2) have been obtained using solvothermal methods. Both have a five-coordinate geometry with two bridging monodentate tetrachloroterephthalate
ligands and three pyridine ligands coordinated to the Zn(II) or Cu(II) atom. The tetrachloroterephthalate ligands bridge the
adjacent Zn(II) or Cu(II) centers, giving zigzag chains. Complex (3) has also been crystallized, each Cd(II) atom is six-coordinated to three carboxylate oxygen atoms and three pyridyl nitrogen
atoms. Two types of tetrachloroterephthalate ligand, featuring monodentate and bidentate carboxylates, connect the Cd(II)
centers to form zigzag chains. All three complexes have been subjected to thermogravimetric analysis. 相似文献

Summary Several new complexes of the title ligand (H2MPTS) with CoII, NiII, CuII, and CdII have been prepared. Structural assignments of the complexes have been made based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic moment and spectral (i.r.,1H n.m.r., reflectance) studies. The compounds are non-conductors in dimethylsulphoxide. The neutral molecule is coordinated to the metal(II) sulphate as a bidentate ligandvia the two carbonyl groups. The ligand reacts with the metal(II) chlorides with the liberation of two hydrogen ions, behaving as a bianionic quadridentate (NONO) donor. Enolization is confirmed by the pH-titration of H2 MPTS and its metal(II) complexes against NaOH. A distorted octahedral structure is proposed for the CuII complex, while a square planar structure is suggested for both CoII and NiII complexes. The stoichiometry of the complexes formed in EtOH and buffer solutions, their apparent formation constants and the ranges for obedience to Beer's law are reported for CoII, NiII and CuII ions. The ligand pK values are calculated. The antimicrobial activity of H2 MPTS and its CoII, NiII, CuII and MnII complexes is demonstrated. 相似文献

Metallatriazadiphosphorine complexes corresponding to [{N(PPh2NR)2}M(OAc)] and [{N(PPh2NR)2}2M], (R = Ph or SiMe3; M = Zn, Cd or Hg) have been synthesized under strictly anhydrous and inert conditions by the reaction of the acyclic bis-silylated phosphazene ligand, [HN(PPh2NSiMe3)2], or the bis-phenylated phosphazene ligand, [HN(PPh2NPh)2], with Zn, Cd and Hg acetate in 1:1 and 2:1 molar ratios. These complexes are highly soluble in common organic solvents, but unstable hydrolytically as well as thermally, even under reduced pressure. Molecular weight determinations in benzene indicated the monomeric nature of these complexes. Further, they have been characterized on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral studies: i.r. and n.m.r. (1H, 13C and 31P) that plausibly reveal a trigonal planar and tetrahedral geometry around the metal atom in the complexes. 相似文献

Summary The thermodynamic proton-ligand and metal ligand stability constants of the newN-o-chlorophenylbenzohydroxamic acids with manganese, nickel, copper, zinc, cadmium and mercury have been determined in 1 : 1 dioxan : water at 25°.The stability of the complexes mostly follow the ligand basicity order and also the metal ion electron affinities as measured by their ionization potential. The stability constants of the metal complexes follow the order: Cu(II) > Zn(II) > Ni(II) > Mn(II) > Hg(II) > Cd(II). 相似文献

with benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone), H2BPT, have been synthesized and their structures assigned based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements. The i.r. spectra suggest that the ligand behaves as a binegative quadridentate (NSSN) (CoII, CuII, HgII and UO

complexes) or as a binegative quadridentate-neutral bidentate chelating agent (NiII, ZnII and CdII complexes). Octahedral structures for the CoII and NiII complexes and square-planar structure for the CuII complex are suggested on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidence. The crystal field parameters (Dq, B and
B) for the CoII complex are calculated and agree fairly well with the values reported for known octahedral complexes. The ligand can be used for the microdetermination of NiII ions of concentration in the 0.4–6×10–4 mol l–1 range and the apparent formation constant for the species generated in solution has also been calculated. 相似文献

The kinetics of thermal decomposition of mixed ligand complexes of Mn(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) containing triethanolamine and oxalate have been studied using thermogravimetry (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The decomposition reaction in which the complexes lose one molecule of triethanolamine was found to be first order and the activation energy and pre-exponential factors were calculated using established techniques. The values of Ea obtained for these reactions using a modified form of the Horowitz and Metzger equation were 27.75, 20.54, 18.33, 25.32 and 23.25 kcal mole?1, respectively. Infrared spectral data of these complexes and the intermediates gave additional information about the coordinating nature of the ligands in these complexes. 相似文献

The electrical conductances and heats of phase changes in lead(II), zinc(II) and cadmium(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoates are measured. The soaps are prepared by metathesis in alcohol solution from 10-hydroxyoctadecanoic acid which in turn is prepared from the oxidation of cis-9-octadecenoic (oleic) acid with concentrated sulphuric acid. The Arrhenius plot for lead(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoate shows a maximum, a behaviour that had earlier been interpreted to be due to complex formation. A similar plot for zinc(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoate is linear while that for cadmium(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoate presents a discontinuity which is interpreted, with the aid of the differential scanning calorimetric (DSC) spectra and optical examination, to be suggestive of the formation of an intermediate phase between the solid and the liquid phases. The low conductances of the soaps in comparison with the literature data on some metal caboxylates indicate the existence of extensive intermolecular hydrogen bonding in the molten phase. Both lead(II) and zinc(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoates melt directly from the solid to the liquid phase while their cadmium(II) counterpart passes through the gel-like phase before melting into the liquid. The mesophase of cadmium(II) 10-hydroxyoctadecanoate is transformed to the liquid phase with a relatively low enthalpy change and the behaviour is associated with the cylindrical micekkar structures of the liquid phase that have their formative stage from the gel-like mesophase. 相似文献
