Scattering theory for the Nelson model is studied. We show Rosen estimates and we prove the existence of a ground state for the Nelson Hamiltonian. Also we prove that it has a locally finite pure point spectrum outside its thresholds. We study the asymptotic fields and the existence of the wave operators. Finally we show asymptotic completeness for the Nelson Hamiltonian.  相似文献

The gauge gravitation theory, based on the equivalence principle besides the gauge principle, is formulated in the fibre bundle terms. The correlation between gauge geometry on spinor bundles describing Dirac fermion fields and space-time geometry on a tangent bundle is investigated. We show that field functions of fermion fields in presence of different gravitational fields are always written with respect to different reference frames. Therefore, the conventional quantization procedure is applicable to fermion fields only if gravitational field is fixed. Quantum gravitational fields violate the above mentioned correlation between two geometries.  相似文献

We construct a modified on-shell BCFW recursion relation to derive compact analytic representations of tree-level amplitudes in QED. As an application, we study the amplitudes of a fermion pair coupling to an arbitrary number of photons and give compact formulae for the NMHV and N2MHV case. We demonstrate that the new recursion relation reduces the growth in complexity with additional photons to be exponential rather than factorial.  相似文献

Classical field theory simulations have been essential for our understanding of non-equilibrium phenomena in particle physics. In this talk we discuss the possible extension of the bosonic classical field theory simulations to include fermions. In principle we use the inhomogeneous mean field approximation as introduced by Aarts and Smit. But in practice we turn from their deterministic technique to a stochastic approach. We represent the fermion field as an ensemble of pairs of spinor fields, dubbed male and female. These c-number fields solve the classical Dirac equation. Our improved algorithm enables the extension of the originally 1+1 dimensional analyses and is suitable for large-scale inhomogeneous settings, like defect networks.  相似文献

We define geometrically two-cluster scattering states by their asymptotic space-time behavior. We show that these subspaces coincide with the ranges of the two-cluster wave operators, or modified wave operators if both clusters are charged. In particular this proves asymptotic completeness and absence of a singular continuous spectrum of the Hamiltonian below the lowest three-body threshold.  相似文献

In this paper we present a study of the renormalization problem in a finite quantum field theory with shadow states for a system of a physical scalar field interacting with a physical fermion field. In order to make the theory finite, two fermion shadow fields are introduced. We observe that the stability criterion of renormalization can not be satisfied simultaneously by both physical fields and shadow fields, if the finiteness of the theory is to be maintained. A physical interpretation of this result is given. Furthermore, we find that the effective complete propagators for large space-like momenta behave like free field propagators without the logarithmic factors observed in the non-abelian gauge theory.  相似文献

Geometric –models have been defined as purely geometric theories of scalar fields in interaction with gravity. By construction, these theories possess soliton solutions with topologically nontrivial scalar sectors. We perform a detailed analysis of the stability of the effective scalar field theory far from the soliton core. It is shown that the requirement for the asymptotic stability is consistent with the existence of massive, static, spherically symmetric soliton solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we give an Avron?CHerbst type formula for the propagator generated by the free Hamiltonian with crossed constant magnetic and time-dependent electric fields. As an application of the formula, we give a result of the existence of the wave operators under some appropriate conditions on the time-dependent electric field and the potential. Finally, in the case where the electric field is time-independent, we consider the problem of the asymptotic completeness of the wave operators.  相似文献

We present a toy model of baryons using singular solutions of the SU(2) Yang-Mill-Higgs (YMH) field equations, which bears some similarity to the Schwarzschild solution of general relativity. The SU (2) solutions are used as a background field into which a scalar, SU (2) test particle is placed. This can be compared to placing an electrically charged particle in a Coulomb background field, except the SU (2) YMH solutions are singular on a spherical membrane thus trapping (confining) the test particle inside the sphere in a manner similar to certain bag models of baryons. An interesting consequence of this model is that the composite system is a fermion even though the original Lagrangian contains only bosonic fields.  相似文献

We study the evolution of the coupled scalar and fermion fields within the classical field theory. We examine the case of N coupled fields in (1+3)-dimensional space. The general expressions for the fields distributions are obtained. The particular case of two fields in (1+1)-dimensional space is carefully studied. We obtain the expressions for the averaged fields intensities and show that in the relativistic limit they are similar to the usual transition probabilities formulae of neutrino oscillations.  相似文献

A covariant quantization scheme employing reducible representations of canonical commutation relations with positive-definite metric and Hermitian four-potentials (an alternative to the Gupta-Bleuler method) is tested on the example of quantum electromagnetic fields produced by a classical current. The Heisenberg dynamics can be consistently formulated since the fields are given by operators and not operator-valued distributions. The scheme involves a Hamiltonian whose free part is modified but the minimal-coupling interaction is the standard one. Solving Heisenberg equations of motion under the assumption that the fields are free for times t 0 = ±∞ we arrive at retarded and advanced solutions. Once we have these solutions we can deduce the form of evolution of retarded and advanced fields between two arbitrary finite times. The appropriate unitary evolution operators are found and their generators are computed. Now the generators involve the same free part as before, but the interaction term turns out to be modified. For a pointlike charge localized on a world-line z a (t) we find the interaction term of the form where the integration is along those parts of the charge world-line where the charge velocity is nonzero. There is no self-energy contribution. Next we compute photon statistics. Poisson statistics naturally results and infrared divergence can be avoided even for pointlike sources. Classical fields produced by classical sources can be obtained if one computes coherent-state averages of Heisenberg-picture operators. It is shown that the new form of representation automatically smears out pointlike currents. We discuss in detail Poincaré covariance of the theory and the role of Bogoliubov transformations for the issue of gauge invariance. The representation we employ is parametrized by a number that is related to Rényi’s α. It is shown that the “Shannon limit” α→ 1 plays here a role of a correspondence principle with the standard regularized formalism. PACS: 03.70.+k, 41.20.Jb, 42.50.-p.  相似文献

We present the relation of the 4-dimensional low energy gauge coupling and the 5-dimensional fundamental gauge coupling of bulk gauge boson in a slice of AdS5, which is orbifolded byZ 2 ×Z2. We calculate the full 1-loop corrections for the case of generic 5-dimensional scalar, Dirac fermion, and vector fields with arbitraryZ 2×Z2. For the supersymmetric case, we obtain the result more easily by using the 4-dimensional effective supergravity approach.  相似文献

We present the gauge invariant and covariant equations of motion for free strings and superstrings, using a simple method of successive gauge transformations. Gauge invariance is enforced by introducing both subsidiary and Stueckelberg fields. We use methods of cohomology associated with the various Virasoro algebras, and derive the cohomology algebras associated with the boson and fermion sector of the open and closed superstrings.  相似文献
