The copper salt [Cu(H(2)O)(2)(imH)(4)] x Sq has been synthesized at room temperature. Crystal structure of the [Cu(H(2)O)(2)(imH)(4)] x Sq (Sq is squarete dianion (C(4)O(4)(2-)) and imH is imidazole (C(3)H(4)N(2))) complexes has been investigated by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and the environment of copper ion has been identified by EPR. The single crystal is triclinic with the space group P1. The unit cell dimensions of the crystals are a=9.317 Angstrom, b=9.958 Angstrom, c=12.130 Angstrom, alpha=69.99 degrees , beta=76.61 degrees and gamma=78.13 degrees . The unit cell contains two molecules. The Cu(II) atom has an octahedral arrangement in which the Cu(II) ion lies on the inversion canter and is coordinated by four imidazole ligands with the equatorial plane and two water molecules with the octahedral axial. The complex shows a normal magnetic moment and the single crystal EPR spectra consist of two sets of four hyperfine lines of copper. The ground wave function of the hole of the Cu(2+) is an admixture of d(x(2) - y(2)) and d(z(2)) states.  相似文献

Factorial design analysis was applied to the study of the catalytic activity of di‐imine copper(II) complexes, in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. The studied complexes show a tridentate imine ligand (apip), derived from 2‐acetylpyridine and 2‐(2‐aminoethyl)pyridine, and a hydroxo or an imidazole group at the fourth coordination site of the copper ion. The factorial design models for both [Cu(apip)imH]2+ and [Cu(apip)OH]+ were similar. Increasing the peroxide concentration from 3.2 × 10?3 to 8.1 × 10?3 mol L?1 resulted in increased oxygen formation. Increasing the pH from 7 to 11 also increased oxygen formation and had an effect about twice as large as the peroxide one. Both complexes also had an important interaction effect between peroxide concentration and pH. However, increasing the catalyst concentration led to a decrease in total oxygen formation. The obtained results were corroborated by further data, achieved by using the usual univariate method, and helped to elucidate equilibrium steps occurring in the studied systems. In very alkaline solutions, the studied [Cu(apip)imH]2+ complex can form the corresponding dinuclear species, [Cu2(apip)2im]3+. While the mononuclear complex proved to be an efficient catalyst in hydrogen peroxide decomposition, the corresponding dinuclear compound seemed to be able to coordinate with the dioxygen molecule, inhibiting its observed release. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Several novel routes for the immobilization of modified Cu(salicylaldimine) complexes on commercially available silica are described. New pulse electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and electron-nuclear double resonance sequences, which provide more detailed information than that available previously, in combination with continuous wave EPR, allow a definitive assignment of the geometry at the copper center in the immobilized Cu(salicylaldimine). Immobilization of the modified Cu(salicylaldimine) on silica was followed in situ by monitoring the intensity of the characteristic free- and metal-coordinated imine bands as a function of time using attenuated total reflectance IR spectroscopy. On the basis of these studies, the outcome of the Schiff base condensation of Cu-bis(salicylaldehyde) with gamma-aminopropyl-modified silica gel is shown to provide immobilized trans-O(2)N(2)- and O(3)N-coordinated immobilized Cu(salicylaldimine)-type compounds. In addition, trans-O(2)N(2)- or O(3)N-coordinated copper centers are selectively prepared on silica by controlling the aminopropyl modifier loading, thus opening a route to compounds not available by conventional synthesis. The O(3)N-coordinated Cu(salicylaldimine)-type compound on silica was investigated as a precursor for the synthesis of a tethered chiral Cu(salicylaldimine) via reaction of the coordinated carbonyl group with (R)-(+)-alpha-methylbenzylamine. Supported Cu(salicylaldimine) was also prepared via the immobilization of the appropriate silylethoxy-modified homogeneous precursor on silica gel. Precursors and silica-supported Cu(salicylaldimine) materials have been fully characterized. Comparisons are drawn with related Cu(salicylaldimine) immobilized in silica aerogels.  相似文献

The well-known monoanionic Cr tris(3,5-di-tert-butylcatecholato) complex, [Cr(DTBC)3]-, has been studied by X-ray absorption spectroscopy. The multiple-scattering fit to the XAFS gave good correlation (R = 19.8%) and good values for all of the bond lengths, angles, and Debye-Waller factors. The principal bond lengths and angles around the metal center (Cr-O, 1.96 A; O-C, 1.28 A; O-Cr-O, 81.8 degrees; Cr-O-C, 113.3 degrees) were most consistent with the XRD structure for [Cr(X4C6O2)3]- (X = Cl, Br), compared to those in other oxidation states, [Cr(DTBC)3], [Cr(Cl4C6O2)3], and [Cr(O2C6H4)3]3-. The XANES spectrum shows the main K edge at 6003.3 eV and a preedge peak at 5992.9 eV, which is approximately 8% of the intensity of the main K edge. The XANES data were compared to those for Cr-ehba complexes (ehbaH2 = 2-ethyl-2-hydroxybutanoic acid) of known oxidation states (III, IV, and V) and show, in conjunction with EPR spectroscopy and a reevaluation of XRD structures and theoretical calulations, that the complex is best described as a Cr(V) center with delocalization from the catechol ligands. The [Cr(catecholato)3]n+ (n = 1, 0) complexes have similar EPR spectroscopic and structural properties, respectively, to the 1- complex and are also best described as Cr(V) complexes. Such intermediates are important in the redox reactions of catechol(amine)s, and oxidized amino acids (e.g., DOPA), with carcinogenic Cr(VI) and may have relevance in Cr-induced cancers.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes of the potentially tripodal N,N,O ligand 3,3-bis(1-methylimidazol-2-yl)propionate (L1) and its conjugate acid HL1 have been synthesised and structurally and spectroscopically characterised. The reaction of equimolar amounts of ligand and CuII resulted in the complexes [Cu(L1)]n(X)n (X=OTf-, PF6(-); n=1,2), for which a new bridging coordination mode of L1 is inferred. Although these complexes showed moderate catecholase activity in the oxidation of 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol, surprising reactivity with the pseudo-substrate tetrachlorocatechol was observed. A chloranilato-bridged dinuclear CuII complex was isolated from the reaction of [Cu(L1)]n(PF6)n with tetrachlorocatechol. This stoichiometric oxidative double dehalogenation of tetrachlorocatechol to chloranilic acid by a biomimetic copper(II) complex is unprecedented. The crystal structure of the product, [Cu2(ca)Cl2(HL1)2], shows a bridging bis-bidentate chloranilato (ca) ligand and ligand L1 coordinated as its conjugate acid (HL1) in a tridentate fashion. Magnetic susceptibility studies revealed weak antiferromagnetic coupling (J= -35 cm(-1)) between the two copper centres in the dinuclear complex. Dissolution of the green complex [Cu2(ca)Cl2(HL1)2] resulted in the formation of new pink-purple mononuclear compound [Cu(ca)(HL1)(H2O)], the crystal structure of which was determined. It showed a terminal bidentate chloranilato ligand and N,N-bidentate coordination of ligand HL1, which illustrates the flexible coordination chemistry of ligand L1.  相似文献

Fully reversible room temperature dehydration of 3D {Mn(II)2(imH)2(H2O)4[Nb(IV)(CN)8] x 4 H2O}n (1; imH = imidazole) of Tc = 25 K results in the formation of 3D ferrimagnet {[Mn(II)(imH)]2[Nb(IV)(CN)8]}n (2), with Tc = 62 K, the highest ever known for octacyanometalate-based compounds. The dramatic magnetostructural modifications in 2 provide the first example of magnetic spongelike behavior in an octacyanometallate-based assembly.  相似文献

Cis-dioxo-catecholatotungsten(VI) complex anion[W^(VI)O2-(OC6H4O)2]^2- was obtained with discrete protonated ethylenediamine (NH2CH2CH2NH3)^ cations by the reaction of tetrabutyl ammonium decatungstate with catechol in the mixed solvent of CH3OH,CH3CN and ethylenediamine, and compared with its molybdenum anaogue [Mo^(V) O2(OC6H4O)2]^3- by crystal structure,UV,EPR,The results of the UV and EPR spectra show that tungsten is less redox active than molybdenum since the molybdenum is reduced from Mo(VI) to Mo(V) but tungsten stays in the original highest oxidized state Mo(VI) when they are crystallized from the solution above. It is worthy to note that [W^(VI)O2(OC6H4O)]^2- shows the same coordination structure as its molybdenum analogue in which the metal center exhibits distorted octahedral coordination geometry with two cis-dioxocatecholate ligands and might have the related coordination structure feature with the cofactor of flavoenzyme because [Mo^(V)O2(OC6H4O)2]^3- presented essentially the same EPR spectra as flavoenzyme. The NMR studies on the interaction of the title complex with ATP reveal that the reduction of W(VI) to W(V) occurs when the title complex is dissolved in D2O and the W(V) is oxidized again when ATP solution is mixed with original solution and the hydrolysis of the catecholato ligand take places at mean time being monitored by ^1H NMR and ^13C NMR spectra.  相似文献

New copper complexes of DL-methioninoylsulfadiazine (MTS) and L-cystinoylsulfadiazine (CYS) were prepared and characterized using elemental analysis, IR, electronic spectroscopy, EPR spectroscopy, and thermal analysis. The mode of binding indicates that copper binds to MTS through carbonyl oxygen with the amino group nitrogen while for CuII–CYS the copper binds through carbonyl oxygen and SH with removal of its proton. The proposed structures were supported by conformational analysis which showed predominance of the trans form of copper(II)-L-cystinoylsulfadiazine. The two complexes enhanced oxidation of phenol and catechol in the presence of H2O2 under mild conditions. The catalyst shows proficiency toward oxidation of phenol and catechol compared to the auto-catalytic oxidation. CuII–MTS exhibited higher catalytic activity than CuII–CYS. The phenol and catechol oxidation is inhibited by Kojic acid.  相似文献

In the present work we report the reactivity of [LMnII]2+ toward addition of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in acetonitrile solution, where L is a pentadentate polypyridine ligand. Formation of peroxo complexes is evidenced by low-temperature UV-visible spectroscopy, ESI-mass spectrometry, and EPR spectroscopy using parallel as well as perpendicular mode detection. The influence of the medium (basicity, water content) on the formation of various species is investigated. In basic nonanhydrous medium the fate of the reaction mixture solution is the formation of the di-mu-oxo mixed-valent Mn(III)Mn(IV) dinuclear complex. In acidic medium the building of the oxo bridges is avoided and the reaction mixture evolves toward oxidation of the ligand L. This reaction route offers new opportunities for the study of oxidation reactivity of Mn (hydro)peroxo complexes.  相似文献

Type III dicopper centres are the heart of the reactive sites of enzymes that catalyze the oxidation of catechols. Numerous synthetic model complexes have been prepared to uncover the fundamental chemistry involved in these processes, but progress is still lagging much behind that for heme enzymes. One reason is that the latter gain very much from the informative spectroscopic features of their porphyrin-based metal-chelating ligand. We now introduce sapphyrin-chelated dicopper complexes and show that they may be isolated in different oxidation states and coordination geometries, with distinctive colors and electronic spectra due to the heme-like ligands. The dicopper(i) complex 1-Cu2 was characterized by 1H and 19F NMR spectroscopy of the metal-chelating sapphyrin, the oxygenated dicopper(ii) complex 1-Cu2O2 by EPR, and crystallographic data was obtained for the tetracopper(ii)-bis-sapphyrin complex [1-Cu2O2]2. This uncovered a non-heme [Cu4(OH)4]4− cluster, held together with the aid of two sapphyrin ligands, with structural features reminiscent of those of catechol oxidase. Biomimetic activity was demonstrated by the 1-Cu2O2 catalyzed aerobic oxidation of catechol to quinone; the sapphyrin ligand aided very much in gaining information about reactive intermediates and the rate-limiting step of the reaction.

Di-copper chelation by sapphyrin facilitates reaction mechanism investigations and characterization of reactive intermediates regarding biomimetic catechol oxidation.  相似文献

The new poly-imidazole N(8) ligand (S)-2-piperazinemethanamine-1,4-bis[2-((N-(1-acetoxy-3-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl))-2-(S)-propyl)-(N-(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-ylmethyl)))ethyl]-N-(phenylmethyl)-N-(acetoxy), also named (S)-Pz-(C2-(HisIm))(2) (L), containing three chiral (S) centers, was obtained by a multi-step synthesis and used to prepare dinuclear [Cu(2)(L)](4+) and trinuclear [Cu(3)(L)](6+) copper(II) complexes. Low-temperature EPR experiments performed on [Cu(2)(L)](4+) demonstrated that the two S = ? centers behaved as independent paramagnetic units, while the EPR spectra used to study the trinuclear copper complex, [Cu(3)(L)](6+), were consistent with a weakly coupled three-spin ? system. Theoretical models for the two complexes were obtained by DFT/RI-BP86/TZVP geometry optimization, where the structural and electronic characteristics nicely supported the EPR experimental findings. In addition, the theoretical analysis unveiled that the conformational flexibility encoded in both [Cu(2)(L)](4+) and [Cu(3)(L)](6+) arises not only from the presence of several σ-bonds and the bulky residues attached to the (S)-Pz-(C2-(HisIm))(2) ligand scaffold, but also from the poor coordination ability of the tertiary amino groups located in the ligand side-chains containing the imidazole units towards the copper(II) ions. Both the dinuclear and trinuclear complexes are efficient catalysts in the stereoselective oxidation of several catechols and flavonoid compounds, yielding the corresponding quinones. The structural features of the substrate-catalyst adduct intermediates were assessed by searching the conformational space of the molecule through MMFF94/Monte Carlo (MMFF94/MC) methods. The conformational flexibility of the bound ligand in the complexes proves to be beneficial for substrate binding and recognition. For the dinuclear complex, chiral recognition of the optically active substrates derives from weak electrostatic interactions between bound substrates and folded regions of the ligand scaffold. For the trinuclear complex, in the case of L/D-Dopa, the chiral recognition has a remarkable stereoselectivity index of 75%, the highest so far reported for this type of reaction. Here the dominant contribution to stereoselectivity arises from the direct interaction between a donor group (the Dopa carboxylate) far from the substrate reaction site (the catechol ring) with the additional (third) copper center not involved in the oxidative catalysis. On the other hand, in the case of bulky substrates, such as L/D-catechin, the observed poor substrate recognition is associated with much weaker interactions between the chiral regions of the complex and the chiral part of the substrate.  相似文献

The reaction of NO and the immobilized dimer complex (edta)(2)Ru(2)(III(1/2),III(1/2)) on silica gel chemically modified with [3-(2-aminoethyl)aminopropyl]trimethoxysilane (AEATS) produces the corresponding immobilized nitrosyl complex AEATS/Ru(II)NO(+). This compound, a monomer, was obtained by reducing the immobilized ruthenium dimer either electrochemically or with Eu(II) and reacting this species with NO(2)(-) ions. The properties of [Ru(edta)NO](-) in solution and anchored (AEATS/Ru(II)NO(+)) on silica were compared using electrochemical (DPV, CV) and spectroscopic (IR, UV-vis, and ESR) techniques. The results indicate that immobilization does not alter the reactivity of the ruthenium complex and confirm that [Ru(edta)(H(2)O)](2)(-) may be used, either in solution or immobilized, as a catalyst for the conversion of NO(2)(-) to NO(+). Both the anchored nitrosyl complex AEATS/Ru(II)NO(+) and the [Ru(edta)NO](-) species in solution, upon one-electron reduction, liberate NO at comparable rates.  相似文献

The imidazole-bridged binuclear copper(II) complex, [(Cl)2(imH)2Cu(imH)2Cu(bipy)(Cl)2] and the trinuclear copper (II) complex [(Cl)2(bipy)Cu(imH)2Cu(imH)2Cu(bipy)(Cl)2] have been synthesized by direct coupling between [Cu(imH)4(Cl)2] and [Cu(bipy)Cl2] in the appropriate stoichiometric ratios. The complexes show subnormal magnetic moments and e.p.r. spectra, characteristic of the triplet state. The antiferromagnetic coupling constant, J, has been obtained for both the complexes.  相似文献

Cis-dioxo-metal complex ( NH3CH2CH2NH2 ) 2.5 [ Mo0.5^(V)W0.5^(VI)O2 ( OC6H4O ) 2] 1 was obtained by the reaction of tetra-butyl ammonium hexamolybdotungstate with 1, 2-dihydroxybenzene in the mixed solvent of CH3OH, CH3CN and ethylenediamine, and characterized by X-ray diffraction, UV-vis and EPR analysis. Compared with its analogous complexes (NH3CH2CH2NH2)3[Mo^(V)O2(OC6H40)2] 2 and (NH3CH2CH2NH2)2[W^(VI)O2(OC6H4O)2] 3, the results show that tungsten(VI) is less active in redox than molybdenum (VI) and that the change of the valence induced by substitution of W(VI) for Mo(V) in EMO2(OC6H40)2]n- does not influence the coordination geometry of the complex anion in which the metal center exhibits distorted octahedral coordination with cis-dioxo catechol. The responses to EPR of complexes 1 and 2 are active but complex 3 is silent, and the UV-vis spectra exhibited by the three complexes are obvious different because of the different electronic configuration between the central Mo(V) and W(VI) ions in the complexes. It is noteworthy that complexes 1 and 2 have the similar EPR signal to flavoenzyme, suggesting that the three complexes have the same coordination geometry feature with the co-factor of flavoenzyme.  相似文献

The Schiff base (H2fsal-ohyba) derived from 3-formylsalicylic acid and o-hydroxybenzylamine has been covalently bonded to chloromethylated polystyrene cross-linked with 5% divinylbenzene (abbreviated as PS-H(2)fsal-ohyba, I). Treatment of [VO(acac)2] with PS-H2fsal-ohyba in dimethylformamide (DMF) gave the oxovanadium(iv) complex PS-[VO(fsal-ohyba).DMF] (1). Complex 1 can be oxidized into the dioxovanadium(v) species, PS-K[VO2(fsal-ohyba)] (2) on aerial oxidation in the presence of KOH or into the oxoperoxo species, PS-K[VO(O2)(fsal-ohyba)] (3) in the presence of H2O2 and KOH in DMF suspension. Similarly, PS-[MoO(2)(fsal-ohyba).DMF] (4) has been isolated by the reaction of [MoO2(acac)2] with PS-H2fsal-ohyba. All these complexes have been characterised by various techniques. These complexes catalyse the oxidation of styrene, ethylbenzene and phenol efficiently. Styrene gives five reaction products namely styrene oxide, benzaldehyde, 1-phenylethane-1,2-diol, benzoic acid and phenylacetaldehyde, while ethylbenzene gives benzaldehyde, phenyl acetic acid, styrene and 1-phenylethane-1,2-diol. The oxidation products of phenol are catechol and p-hydroquinone. These catalysts are also able to catalyse the oxidative bromination of salicylaldehyde to 5-bromosalicylaldehyde with ca. 80% selectively in the presence of aqueous 30% H2O2/KBr, a reaction similar to that exhibited by vanadate-dependent haloperoxidases. Their corresponding neat complexes have also been prepared and their catalytic activities have been compared.  相似文献

Copper(II) binuclear complexes [Cu(II)(1-phenylamidino-O-n-propylurea)tn]2 (H2O)2(Cl2)2 (1), [Cu(II)(1-phenylamidino-O-n-butylurea)tn]2(H2O)2(Cl2)2(2), [Cu(II)(1-phenylamidino-O-i-butylurea)tn]2(H2O)2(Cl2)2(3), and [Cu(II)(1-phenyamidino-O-i-butylurea)en]2(H2O)2(Cl2)2 (4) have been reported. The binuclear complexes 3 and 4 crystallize in a monoclinic structure with unit cell dimensions a = 15.252(17) A, b = 14.682(10) A, c = 13.606(13) A, and beta = 111.2(1) degrees and a = 15.278(35) A, b = 14.665(21) A, c = 13.603(27) A, and beta = 111.1(1) degrees , respectively. The EPR spectra of all the solid complexes at room temperature consisted of fine-structure transitions (DeltaM(s) = 1) with zero-field splitting (ZFS) of 0.0500 cm(-1) and a half-field signal (DeltaM(s) = 2) at ca. 1600 G, suggesting the formation of binuclear complexes (S = 1). From the observed ZFS, we estimated the average Cu-Cu distance. From the temperature dependence of the EPR signal intensity, we evaluated the isotropic exchange interaction constant J. It appears that the exchange interaction between the two interacting spins of the binuclear complexes is ferromagnetic in nature. The formation of ferromagnetically coupled copper binuclear complexes was further confirmed from the high magnetic-moment values at room temperature. When the EPR spectra were recorded in the temperature range 300-400 K, it was observed that the triplet-state EPR signal completely and irreversibly disappeared at ca. 380 K with the appearance of a new signal attributable to the mononuclear complex (S = 1/2). Thermal studies of these complexes in this temperature range suggested the loss of two water molecules, which might be responsible for binding two mononuclear species. EPR, IR, and thermal studies indicate a long-range ferromagnetic exchange mediated through hydrogen bonding between copper(II) ions (S = 1/2).  相似文献

The oxidation of [Ru(II)(tpy)(pic)H(2)O](+) (tpy = 2,2',6',2'-terpyridine; pic(-) = picolinate) by peroxidisulfate (S(2)O(8)(2-)) as precursor oxidant has been investigated kinetically by UV-VIS, IR and EPR spectroscopy. The overall oxidation of Ru(II)- to Ru(IV)-species takes place in a consecutive manner involving oxidation of [Ru(II)(tpy)(pic)H(2)O](+) to [Ru(III)(tpy)(pic)(OH)](+), and its further oxidation of to the ultimate product [Ru(IV)(tpy)(pic)(O)](+) complex. The time course of the reaction was followed as a function of [S(2)O(8)(2-)], ionic strength (I) and temperature. Kinetic data and activation parameters are interpreted in terms of an outer-sphere electron transfer mechanism. Anti-microbial activity of Ru(II)(tpy)(pic)H(2)O](+) complex by inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli DH5α in presence of peroxydisulfate has been explored, and the results of the biological studies have been discussed in terms of the [Ru(IV)(tpy)(pic)(O)](+) mediated cleavage of chromosomal DNA of the bacteria.  相似文献

Three {Ru(p-cym)}(2+) (p-cym = p-cymene) derivatives of [Nb(6)O(19)](8-)-[Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}](6-) (Nb(6)Ru(1)), trans-[Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}(2)](4-) (t-Nb6Ru2), and [Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}(4)] (Nb(6)Ru(4))--have been synthesized in water by reaction between [Ru(p-cym)Cl(2)](2) and the hexaniobate. In the solid state, Nb(6)Ru(1) and Nb(6)Ru(4) have been characterized by IR and EDX spectroscopies, whereas t-Nb(6)Ru(2) has been characterized by IR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (crystal data for K(4)-trans-[Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}(2)].14H(2)O (K(4)-t-Nb(6)Ru(2).14H(2)O). In solution, all compounds were characterized by (1)H NMR and ESI mass spectrometry analyses, and Nb(6)Ru(1) was also analyzed by (17)O NMR. These studies allowed a comparison of the differences in behaviour of the three complexes in water: Nb(6)Ru(1) is particularly stable, Nb(6)Ru(4) decomposes by loss of {Ru(p-cym)}(2+) fragments, and trans-[Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}(2)](4-) isomerizes into cis-[Nb(6)O(19){Ru(p-cym)}(2)](4-). A rational mechanism for the isomerisation of t-Nb(6)Ru(2) is proposed on the basis of a kinetic study.  相似文献

The pyrazole-based diamide ligand N,N'-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)pyrazole-3,5-dicarboxamide (H(3)L) has been structurally characterised and successfully employed in the preparation of [2 x 2] grid-type complexes. Thus, the reaction of H(3)L with Cu(ClO(4))2.6H(2)O or Ni(ClO(4))2.6H(2)O in the presence of added base (NaOH) affords the tetranuclear complexes [M(4)(HL(4))].8H(2)O (1: M = Cu, 2: M = Ni). Employment of a mixture of the two metal salts under otherwise identical reaction conditions leads to the formation of the mixed-metal species [Cu(x)Ni(4-x)(HL)(4)].8H(2)O (x相似文献
