Steady high-Reynolds-number flow of a viscous incompressible fluid past a slender axisymmetric body is considered. The structure of the near wake and the boundary layer in the vicinity of the rear end of the body is studied. The relationship between the maximum relative body thickness and the rearend shape giving a local boundary layer — potential flow interaction zone in a small neighborhood of the rear end is found. The boundary value problem for this region is solved numerically.Translated from Izvestiya Rossiiskoi Akademii Nauk, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 5, pp. 68–77, September–October, 1993.  相似文献

The development of the reverse flow structure in the neighborhood of a corner in a viscous incompressible laminar flow at high Reynolds numbers is investigated numerically. It is found that as the angle of inclination increases the internal structure of the reverse flow zone becomes more complex as a result of secondary separation. The effect of the curvature of the surface is investigated.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 180–182, January–February, 1991.  相似文献

A method is developed for calculating the characteristics of a laminar boundary layer near a body contour corner point, in the vicinity of which the outer supersonic stream passes through a rarefaction flow. In the study we use the asymptotic solution of the Navier-Stokes equations in the region with large longitudinal gradients of the flow functions for large values of the Reynolds number, the general form of which was used in [1].The pressure, heat flux, and friction distributions along the body surface are obtained. For small pressure differentials near the corner the solution of the corresponding equations for small disturbances is obtained in analytic form. The conventional method for studying viscous gas flow near body surfaces for large values of the Reynolds number is the use of the Prandtl boundary layer theory. Far from the body the asymptotic solution of the Navier-Stokes equations in the first approximation reduces to the solution of the Euler equations, while near the body it reduces to the solution of the Prandtl boundary layer equations. The characteristic feature of the boundary layer region is the small variation of the flow functions in the longitudinal direction in comparison with their variation in the transverse direction. However, in many cases this condition is violated. The necessity arises for constructing additional asymptotic expansions for the region in which the longitudinal and transverse variations of the flow functions are quantities of the same order. The general method for constructing asymptotic solutions for such flows with the use of the known method of outer and inner expansions is presented in [1].In the following we consider the flow in a laminar boundary layer for the case of a viscous supersonic gas stream in the vicinity of a body corner point. Behind the corner the flow separates from the body surface and flows around a stagnant zone, in which the pressure differs by a specified amount from the pressure in the undisturbed flow ahead of the point of separation. A pressure (rarefaction) disturbance propagates in the subsonic portion of the boundary layer upstream for a distance which in order of magnitude is equal to several boundary layer thicknesses. In the disturbed region of the boundary layer the longitudinal and transverse pressure and velocity disturbances are quantities of the same order. In this study we construct additional asymptotic expansions in the first approximation and calculate the distributions of the pressure, friction stress, and thermal flux along the body surface.  相似文献

In this study we use the method of matched asymptotic expansions to obtain an approximate solution of the problem of the nonstationary motion of a lifting surface near a solid wall. The region of flow is provisionally subdivided into characteristic zones, in which, using the appropriate coordinates, we construct asymptotic expansions for the velocity potential, which thereafter coalesce in the regions of common validity. In the first approximation (extremely small heights of flight) the problem reduces to the solution of a Poisson equation in a plane region bounded by the contour of the wing in the horizontal plane with boundary conditions established from the coalescence.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 115–124, November–December, 1977.  相似文献

A study was made to see if it is possible to enhance the heat transfer in the downstream region of a backward-facing step, where heat transfer is normally deteriorated, by the insertion of a cylinder near the top corner of the step. Cylinder size and streamwise position of the cylinder were kept constant but the cross-stream position of the cylinder was changed in three steps. Results of the heat transfer experiment, flow visualization, and measurement of the averaged and fluctuating flow fields were reported. When the cylinder was mounted at a position, a little higher than the top surface of the step, a jet-like flow pattern emerged in the averaged velocity profile beneath the cylinder and the recirculating flow was intensified. Therefore, the velocity of recirculating flow near the wall is increased at some streamwise positions. Additionally, the velocity fluctuation was intensified not only in the shear layer between the jet-like flow and the recirculating flow regions but also in the near wall region, resulting in the effective augmentation of heat transfer in this case. Therefore, it is concluded that the mounting of a cylinder is effective in the enhancement of deteriorated heat transfer in the recirculating flow region, if its is mounted in a proper position.  相似文献

The velocity field in a neighborhood of the point of contact between the free and solid boundaries is studied numerically for the problem of noncrucible zone melting in a two-dimensional model formulation. A distinct Prandtl boundary layer on the solid boundary and a Marangoni boundary layer on the free boundary and high gradients of the longitudinal velocity along the free boundary in the immediate vicinity of the “cold corner” are observed. It is found for the first time that with distance from the solid boundary, the velocity curve has a maximum, which is not typical of the ordinary flow near the solid boundary. The axisymmetric supersonic laminar flow of a viscous perfect gas past a blunt body is studied over a wide range of Reynolds and Mach numbers. An approximate analytical solution for the distribution of the heat flux, divided by its value at the stagnation point, over the body surface is derived. The expression for the relative heat flux depends only on the body geometry and the pressure distribution over the body surface. To evaluate the accuracy and the range of validity of the formulas obtained, a comparison with numerical solutions of the complete Navier-Stokes equations was carried out for bodies of various shapes, such as spheres, ellipsoids, and paraboloids.Moscow. On the basis of an asymptotic analysis of the Navier-Stokes system of equations for large Reynolds numbers (Re → ∞), the plane incompressible fluid flow near a surface having a convex corner with a small angle 2θ* is investigated. It is shown that for θ* = O(Re?1/4), in addition to the known solution that describes a separated flow completely localized in a thin “viscous” sublayer of the interaction region near the corner point, another solution corresponding to a flow with a developed separation zone is possible. For θ 0 = Re1/4 θ* = O(1), the longitudinal dimension of this zone varies from finite values up to values of the order of Re?3/8. The nonuniqueness of the solution is established on a certain range of variation of the parameter θ 0. The dependence of the drag coefficient on the angle θ* is found.  相似文献

The near wake of square cylinders with different corner radii was experimentally studied based on particle imaging velocimetry (PIV), laser doppler anemometry (LDA) and hotwire measurements. Four bluff bodies, i.e., r/d=0 (square cylinder), 0.157, 0.236, 0.5 (circular cylinder), where r is corner radius and d is the characteristic dimension of the bluff bodies, were examined. A conditional sampling technique was developed to obtain the phase-averaged PIV data in order to characterize quantitatively the effect of corner radii on the near-wake flow structure. The results show that, as r/d increases from 0 to 0.5, the maximum strength of shed vortices attenuates, the circulation associated with the vortices decreases progressively by 50%, the Strouhal number, St, increases by about 60%, the convection velocity of the vortices increases along with the widening of the wake width by about 25%, the vortex formation length and the wake closure length almost double in size. Meanwhile, both the vortex wavelength, λ x , and the lateral spacing, λ y , decrease as r/d increases, but the ratio of λ y to λ x is approximately 0.29, irrespective of r/d, which is close to the theoretical value of 0.281 for a stable Karman vortex street. The decrease in wavelength is probably responsible for the change in the flow structure from the approximately circular-shaped vortex at r/d=0 to the laterally stretched vortex at r/d=0.5. The leading edge corner radius is more important than the trailing one in influencing the near wake structure since it determines to a great extent the behavior of the streamlines, the separation angle and the base pressure. It is further found that the ratio of the mean drag coefficient to the total shed circulation, C d0, approaches a constant, about 0.25 for different bluff bodies in the subcritical flow regime. The streamwise evolution of vortices and the streamwise fluctuating velocity along the centerline for rounded cylinders are also discussed.  相似文献

A study is made of the influence of longitudinal vorticity on the hypersonic viscous shock layer near an axisymmetric cooled surface that rotates about the longitudinal axis with angular velocity 1 [1, 2]. The equations of the viscous shock layer for the neighborhood of the stagnation point are simplified on the basis of the theory of a thin three-dimensional shock layer [1, 2]. The results are given of some calculations of the influence of the parameters and 1 on the heat transfer and the structure of the shock layer in the case of steady flow. An iterative numerical method proposed by the author [1] is used, and a modification to accelerate the convergence of the iterations is proposed. It is noted that the parameters and 1 have characteristic ranges of variation, which depend on the Mach and Reynolds numbers, for which the distributions of the streamlines in the shock layer are qualitatively different.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 179–182, May–June, 1984.I thank V. A study is made of the two-dimensional laminar flow of a viscous incompressible fluid in the neighborhood of the point of attachment of the flow to a solid surface. The case of large Reynolds numbers is considered. It is assumed that the dimensions of the separation region are of the same order of magnitude as the characteristic dimension of the body around which the flow takes place. The asymptotic theory of such flow is constructed by applying the method of matched asymptotic expansions to the analysis of the Navier-Stokes equations. It is shown that in the neighborhood of the attachment point the flow is locally inviscid and can be described by the complete system of Euler equations. A solution to the corresponding boundary-value problem is constructed numerically.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 63–71, November–December, 1980.  相似文献

We study the Cauchy problem for the fast diffusion equation when and . For a class of nonnegative radially symmetric finite-mass solutions, which vanish identically at a given time , we show that their asymptotic behaviour as is described by a uniquely determined self-similar solution of the second kind: , where and and . Here is determined from a nonlinear eigenvalue problem involving an ordinary differential equation for the function . Special attention is paid to the case when . Then and the function can be found explicity. The proof is based on a geometric Lyapunov-type argument and comparison arguments based on the intersection properties of the solution graphs. A general method is presented for finding asymptotic solutions of problems in wave-propagation. The method is applicable to linear symmetric-hyperbolic partial differential equations and to the integro-differential equations for the electromagnetic field in a dispersive medium. These equations may involve a large parameter . In the electromagnetic case is a characteristic frequency of the medium. The parameter may also appear in initial data or in the source terms of the equations, in a variety of different ways. This gives rise to a variety of different types of asymptotic solutions. The expansion procedure is a ray method, i.e., all the functions that appear in the expansion satisfy ordinary differential equations along certain space-time curves called rays. In general, these rays do not lie on characteristic surfaces, but may, for example, fill out the interior of a characteristic hypercone. They are associated with an appropriately defined group velocity. In subsequent papers the ray method developed here will be applied to the analysis of transients, Cerenkov radiation, transition radiation, and other phenomena of wave-propagation.An interesting by-product of the ray method is the conclusion, derived in section 6.3, that the theory of relativity imposes no restriction on the speed of energy transport in anisotropic media. This research was supported by the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, Office of Aerospace Research, under Contract No. AF 19(628)4065  相似文献

Three-dimensional supersonic ideal-gas flow past axisymmetric finned bodies rotating about the longitudinal axis is considered. A calculation method based on the numerical solution of the Euler equations by finite differences is described. The effect of the rotation of the body is taken into account within the framework of the curvature hypothesis [1], which provided that the dimensionless rate of rotation is small reduces the solution of the unsteady three-dimensional problem of supersonic flow past a rotating body to the solution of the steady-state problem of flow past a nonrotating body with specially curved fins. The problem of the rotation of a finned body in a free stream is solved.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 4, pp. 109–114, July–August, 1988.  相似文献

A rate-dependent quasi-flow plastic constitutive model with punch-speed sensitivity is proposed for the large-deformation sheet metal forming process, which is based on the quasi-flow corner theory and UL formulation for the virtual work-rate equation. Three kinds of constitutive theories with strain rate dependence, classical flow theory, deformation theory with rate form obeying non-orthogonality rule, and the present quasi-flow corner theory, are introduced into the UL finite element formulation to simulate the deformation localization processes of plane strain tension in order to investigate effects of strain rate sensitivity on the localizing deformation characters. Furthermore, three kinds of typical forming processes sheet metals, one being an uniaxial stretching and another being a square cup drawing with circular blank, and third being a deep drawing of an oil pan, actual industrial forming part, are also numerically simulated by the present model and compared with experimental results. Good agreement between numerical simulation and experimental ones exhibits the validity of the quasi-flow corner theory.  相似文献

A model of a three-dimensional elastic body containing a rigid inclusion and a crack located on the interface between the inclusion and the body is considered. Natural boundary conditions are imposed on the crack. A derivative of the energy functional with respect to the perturbation parameter is derived for an arbitrary, rather smooth perturbation of the domain, in particular, the Griffith formula is obtained.  相似文献
