Silver-clad tapes of highT c Bi-Pb-Sr-Ca-Cu-O superconductors have been fabricated through the powder-in-tube method. The critical current density, J c , of a thick tape was 534 A.cm−2 (77 K, 0 T). Subsequent rolling and sintering of the tapes led to a gradual decrease inJ c, instead of the expected increase. This was caused by the microcracks developed in the core material by a rather drastic reduction during the rolling of the tapes. A modified and well controlled rolling technique, on the other hand, resulted in much improvedJ c values. Repeated rolling and sintering resulted in a good grain alignment and no microcracks were observed. In the present studies, maximumJ c of 1846 A.cm−2 (77 K, 0 T) and 2.43 × 104 A.cm−2 (4.2 K, 0 T) have been obtained Optimization of the processing and sintering parameters are expected to lead to still higherJ c values.  相似文献

Transmission electron microscopic (TEM) studies are reported on Ag-clad Bi1.7 Pb0.4Sr1.8Ca2Cu3.5O x tapes prepared by using low purity (98–99%) commercial grade materials. The self-fieldJ c values of these tapes viz. 6.14 × 103 A.cm−2 at 77 K and 1.4 × 105 A.cm−2 at 4.2 K, reported in an earlier publication, were significantly higher than the correspondingJ c values in tapes prepared with high purity (99.99%) materials. The TEM pictures on the low purity core material of the tapes reveal the presence of stacking faults and the intergrowth of the 2212 and 2223 phases which could be acting as flux pinning sites and responsible for enhancedJ c values. These defects can perhaps be traced back to the presence of 60 ppm iron in the low purity CuO as revealed by atomic absorption analysis reported earlier.  相似文献

Summary Monofilamentary Bi(2223) tapes withJ c(77 K, 0 tesla) up to 30 000 A/cm2 have been prepared by cold rolling using the powder-in-tube method. An optimization of the precursor powders has led to a higher phase purity after the reaction heat treatment. The deformation process has been optimized in order to increase the oxide density and to reduce sausaging effects on the oxide thickness. The transport properties of these tapes have been studied in a wide range of temperature (4.2K-T c) and magnetic fields (up to 28 tesla). The critical-current values at 77 K fields of 0.5 T and 1 T parallel to the tape surface are 10 000 A/cm2 and 5400 A/cm2, respectively. At 4.2 K theJ c value decreases from 1.6·105 A/cm2 at 0 T to 6·104 A/cm2 at 15 T. At fields higher than 15 tesla a very low field dependence ofJ c has been found, regardless of the tape orientation. Transport properties have also been studied by cutting small sections of the tape in order to investigate the local critical-current distribution. It has been found that, even in rolled tapes of good quality (J c (77 K, 0 T)>20000 A/cm2), theJ c distribution is homogeneous: the critical current density increases gradually from the centre of the tape to the sides, the latter exhibiting much higherJ c (46000 A/cm2) than in the centre (18000 A/cm2). The critical current densities (J c) have been measured at 77K in high pressure oxygen sputtered thin films of YBa2Cu3O7−x superconductor using the non-resonant rf absorption technique. High values ofJ c (∼ 105 A/cm2) are observed in these relatively large area (∼ 1·2 cm2) films.  相似文献

Summary In this work we report on the anisotropic physical properties of silver-sheathed Bi-2223 tapes fabricated by means of hot extrusion and repeated pressing and sintering processes. The obtained Bi-2223/Ag short tapes, having critical current densitiesJ c of 20–30 kA/cm2 at 77 K, 0 T, were measured in external magnetic fields up to 0.5T applied in two different orientations (i.e. μ0H‖(a,b)-planes and μ0H ⊥(a,b)-planes). The magnetic characterizations were performed in a wide range of temperatures and magnetic fields to study the first magnetization curve of tapes evaluating the lower critical fields μ0Hc1⊥ab and ⊥0Hc1#x2016;ab and their dependences on temperature. TheJ c values at different fields in the temperature range 4.6–90 K, calculated from the magnetization data by the critical state model, are also presented. Silver clad wires of highT c superconductor Y1Ba2Cu3O7−x have been fabricated through the powder metallurgy technique. The reacted wires show a midpointT c of 84K. A critical current density of 26·4 A cm−2 (77K, 0T) is obtained in these wires. The wires, however, turn complete normal only at a current density of 280 A cm−2. The reasons for low critical current density obtained in these wires are discussed.  相似文献

The angular dependences of the electron spin resonance spectrum of 1% Ni2+ ions in a ZnSiF6·6H2O matrix are investigated experimentally at 36 GHz and 4.2 K. Besides the main spectrum of the isolated ion, we observed a spectrum due to interacting pairs of Ni2+ ions, located in the first (nn) and second (2n) coordination spheres and coupled by, besides the magnetic dipole-dipole interaction, isotropic exchange: J nn = (−197±1)×10−4, J 2 = (−5±1)×10−4, and J 2 = (3±2)×10−4 cm−1. Lines due to other isolated Ni2+ ions, which have a different initial splitting D, are also present in the spectrum with intensity comparable to the pair spectrum. Low-symmetry distortions of the crystal field are observed, caused by a pair of impurity ions located close to one another. It is shown that the previously proposed interpretation is incorrect. Fiz. The new heteronuclear crystal CuPr2(CCl3COO)8·6H2O, constructed of chains containing copper and praseodymium atoms, has been synthesized and investigated by EPR at 9.3 GHz at temperatures ranging from room temperature down to 10 K. At temperatures T∼300–130 K, EPR spectra are observed which are characteristic of isolated polyhedra of copper ions with g z=2.330±0.005, g x,y =2.053±0.005, A z=139×10−4 cm−1, and A x,y <26×10−4 cm−1. At temperatures T<130 K a complex spectrum is observed, associated with the appearance of weak exchange interactions between the copper ions in the chain (J Cu-CuΣS i·S i+1), comparable in magnitude with the hyperfine interactions J Cu-Cu=0.015 cm−1 at T=10 K. The magnitude of the exchange interaction decreases smoothly as the temperature is raised. It is conjectured that orbitals of the praseodymium ions participate in the process of indirect exchange between the copper ions. Fiz. Tverd. It is shown that by adopting a very gradual programmed cooling procedure in oxygen environment one can obtain a sharp transition (ΔT c⋍1 K) in YBa2Cu3O7−x while retaining the high-T c value (⋍105 K) of samples prepared by a semi-wet route. This is attributed to a maximum occupancy of oxygen at 0 1/2 0 sites and a near-perfect ordering of vacancies at 1/2 0 0 sites in the orthorhombic unit cell which maximizes the availability of conduction paths in the form of continuous CuO4 chains. Critical current densities (J c) of 204 A cm−2 are obtained for bulk samples at 77 K. It is suggested that the intergrain coupling is weak and thus limits the transportJ c-values.  相似文献

Summary Ag/BSCCO-2223 phase tapes were prepared with a new plastic deformation cycle. Starting from the hot extrusion of composite billets, hundreds of metres of tape 0.15×3 mm were obtained by drawing and rolling the extruded bars. The cross-section, monofilamentary with a central Ag insert, is quite regular along all the length. Samples from 30 cm to 100 cm in length were heat-treated at different temperatures between 830°C and 480°C in Ar+10% O2 atmosphere. Electrical-transport properties were tested at 77K.J c of 3000 A/cm2 were usually achieved after first heat treatment. A large stack of lead-emulsion sandwich detector assembly was flown over Hyderabad, India. High energy gamma rays at the float altitude were unambiguously identified from the cascades they induced, and their energies reliably determined by improved methods. From an analysis of 163 gamma rays of energy ≳ 30 GeV, it is found that the differential energy spectrum is represented by the power lawJ r (E)= 129·4E −2·62±0·12 photons m−2 sr−1sec−1 GeV−1 at an effective atmospheric depth of 14·3 g cm−2; this is the first reliable balloon measurement of atmospheric gamma rays in the energy range 40–1000 GeV. After correcting for the gamma rays radiated by the primary cosmic ray electrons, the production spectrum of gamma rays, resulting from the collisions of cosmic ray nuclei with air nuclei, at the top of the atmosphere isP r (E, 0)=8·2 × 10−4 E2.60±0.09 photons g−1sr−1sec−1 GeV−1. The atmospheric propagation of the electromagnetic component due to the cascade process is also derived from the gamma ray production spectrum.  相似文献

A laboratory process for long Nb3Ge tapes fabrication by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) has been set up. The Nb3Ge tapes which were fabricated offer the possibility of high current and high field operation at 4.2 K since the values of critical current densities, Jc, measured in high magnetic fields at 20T and 4.2K exceed 5 × 104 A cm?2 which is the generally accepted criterion for producing a superconducting magnet.  相似文献

We have recorded and investigated the ESR spectrum of vanadium-doped α-RbTiOPO4 single crystals in the temperature interval 77–300 K. Two types of structurally distinct centers, V1 and V2, with a 4:1 ratio of the peak intensities were observed. The angular dependences of the resonance magnetic fields are described by a spin Hamiltonian corresponding to axial symmetry with the parameters g ∥1=1.9305, g ⊥1=1.9565, A ∥1=−168.2×10−4cm−1, and A ⊥1=−54.3×10−4cm−1 for V1 centers and g ∥2=1.9340, g ⊥2=1.9523, A ∥2=−169.0×10−4cm−1, and A ⊥2=−55.2×10−4cm−1 for V2 centers. A model of a paramagnetic center is proposed: The vanadium ions replace titanium ions in two structurally distinct positions Ti1 and Ti2 (V1 and V2 centers, respectively). The possibility that a VO2+ ion forms when α-RbTiOPO4 crystals and crystals of the KTP group (KTiOPO4, NaTiOPO4, α-and β-LiTiOPO4), studied earlier, are doped with vanadium is discussed. Fiz. Tverd. It is shown that local mechanical bending of YBa2Cu3O7−b Ag-coated superconducting films deposited on flexible metal substrates in the temperature interval 77–300 K may increase the critical density J c of the transport current to values as high as 106 A/cm2 or even higher at 77 K. Also, bending decreases the voltage criterion. This means a rise in the intergranular conductivity and, accordingly, a reduction of Joule losses.  相似文献

The MgB2 coated superconducting tapes have been fabricated on textured Cu (0 0 1) and polycrystalline Hastelloy tapes using coated conductor technique, which has been developed for the second generation high temperature superconducting wires. The MgB2/Cu tapes were fabricated over a wide temperature range of 460-520 °C by using hybrid physical-chemical vapor deposition (HPCVD) technique. The tapes exhibited the critical temperatures (Tc) ranging between 36 and 38 K with superconducting transition width (ΔTc) of about 0.3-0.6 K. The highest critical current density (Jc) of 1.34 × 105 A/cm2 at 5 K under 3 T is obtained for the MgB2/Cu tape grown at 460 °C. To further improve the flux pinning property of MgB2 tapes, SiC is coated as an impurity layer on the Cu tape. In contrast to pure MgB2/Cu tapes, the MgB2 on SiC-coated Cu tapes exhibited opposite trend in the dependence of Jc with growth temperature. The improved flux pinning by the additional defects created by SiC-impurity layer along with the MgB2 grain boundaries lead to strong improvement in Jc for the MgB2/SiC/Cu tapes. The MgB2/Hastelloy superconducting tapes fabricated at a temperature of 520 °C showed the critical temperatures ranging between 38.5 and 39.6 K. We obtained much higher Jc values over the wide field range for MgB2/Hastelloy tapes than the previously reported data on other metallic substrates, such as Cu, SS, and Nb. The Jc values of Jc(20 K, 0 T) ∼5.8 × 106 A/cm2 and Jc(20 K, 1.5 T) ∼2.4 × 105 A/cm2 is obtained for the 2-μm-thick MgB2/Hastelloy tape. This paper will review the merits of coated conductor approach along with the HPCVD technique to fabricate MgB2 conductors with high Tc and Jc values which are useful for large scale applications.  相似文献

Gold electrodes with known contact geometries were studied using impedance spectroscopy. From these data it was possible to determine the specific polarisation conductivity per unit length of three-phase boundary (TPB). The values were found to be (3÷22)×10−4 S·cm−1 dependent on the electrode history in pure oxygen at 977 °C and 2×10−6 S·cm−1 at 977 °C in “pure” hydrogen (PO2=10−20 atm at 1001 °C). The results are compared with previous data obtained for platinum electrodes.  相似文献

Deep-level profiles were measured radially acrossn-type FZ silicon wafers containing A-swirl defects by applying DLTS to an array of Schottky contacts. The trapparameters were obtained very accurately using a computer-fit procedure for the full DLTS peaks. Two acceptor levels atE c −0.49 eV (σ n =6.6×10−16cm2) andE c −0.07 eV (σ n =4.6×10−16cm2) were observed, which varied oppositely to the A-swirl defect density. At short ranges (1–2mm) the trap concentration-profile was smeared out and did not follow the strong fluctuations in the etch pattern. Both levels were measured together with the same concentration. The profiles indicate outdiffusion. A level atE c −0.14 eV (σ n =1.1×10−16cm2) was not related to A-swirl defects. A level atE c −0.11 eV (σ n =1.1×10−15cm2) was only detected in one ingot. The properties of the deep level atE c −0.49 eV are discussed in the light of published DLTS results reported for γ-irradiation, laser annealing after self-implantation, annealing under pressure and oxidation of silicon samples. It is concluded, that this level is related to interstitial silicon rather than to an impurity.  相似文献

The lattice parameters of CdF2 andβ-PbF2 have been determined over the temperature range 300–670 K. The coefficient of expansion at room temperature is 21·3 × 10−6 K−1 and 25·4 × 10−6 K−1 for CdF2 and PbF2 respectively and it increases linearly with temperature over the range of temperature covered. The Grüneisen parameter decreases with temperature in both the crystals.  相似文献

The spin-spin relaxation rate 63 T 2 −1 of 63Cu nuclei in CuO2 layers is measured in the normal and superconducting states of the compound YBa2Cu3O6.9 (T c onset =94 K) subjected to radiation-induced disordering by a fast-neutron flux Φ to T c onset =68 K (Φ=7×1018 cm−2) and T c onset <4 K (Φ=12×1018 cm−2). It is found that as the structural disorder increases, the contribution of the indirect spin-spin interaction 63 T 2G −1 , which is related to the value of the spin susceptibility at the boundary of the Brillouin zone of the copper planes χs(q={π/a; π/a}), decreases slightly at the transition to the superconducting state for the initial sample and remains unchanged for the weakly disordered sample. This behavior of the short-wavelength contribution to the spin susceptibility attests to the stability of the x 2y 2 symmetry of the energy gap against structural disorder, in accordance with proposed theoretical models of Cooper pairing for high-T c cuprates.
