We construct an explicit scheme to associate to any potential symbol an operator acting between sections of natural bundles (associated to irreducible representations) for a so-called AHS-structure. Outside of a finite set of critical (or resonant) weights, this procedure gives rise to a quantization, which is intrinsic to this geometric structure. In particular, this provides projectively and conformally equivariant quantizations for arbitrary symbols on general (curved) projective and conformal structures.  相似文献

We study the existence of natural and projectively equivariant quantizations for differential operators acting between order 1 vector bundles over a smooth manifold M. To that aim, we make use of the Thomas-Whitehead approach of projective structures and construct a Casimir operator depending on a projective Cartan connection. We attach a scalar parameter to every space of differential operators, and prove the existence of a quantization except when this parameter belongs to a discrete set of resonant values.  相似文献

Using an equivariant version of Connes? Thom isomorphism, we prove that equivariant K-theory is invariant under strict deformation quantization for a compact Lie group action.  相似文献

We characterize invariant projectively flat affine connections in terms of affine representations of Lie algebras, and show that a homogeneous space admits an invariant projectively flat affine connection if and only if it has an equivariant centro-affine immersion. We give a correspondence between semi-simple symmetric spaces with invariant projectively flat affine connections and central-simple Jordan algebras.

We study projective curvature tensor in K-contact and Sasakian manifolds. We prove that (1) if a K-contact manifold is quasi projectively flat then it is Einstein and (2) a K-contact manifold is ξ-projectively flat if and only if it is Einstein Sasakian. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a K-contact manifold to be quasi projectively flat and φ-projectively flat are obtained. We also prove that for a (2n + 1)-dimensional Sasakian manifold the conditions of being quasi projectively flat, φ-projectively flat and locally isometric to the unit sphere S 2n+1 (1) are equivalent. Finally, we prove that a compact φ-projectively flat K-contact manifold with regular contact vector field is a principal S 1-bundle over an almost Kaehler space of constant holomorphic sectional curvature 4.  相似文献

We prove some general rigidity theorems for both elliptic and higher elliptic genera under a natural condition on the first equivariant Pontrjagin classes. We also obtain the vanishing of some higher elliptic genera. Both authors are supported in part by NFS  相似文献

We describe how the equivariant K homology class of an invariant elliptic operator on a homogeneous space of a linear semisimple Lie group determines the L 2-index of the associated operator on a finite volume locally homogeneous space. The machinery of equivariant K homology and of KK theory can be used to prove theorems about L 2-indices. We give an application motivated by the problem of calculating multiplicities of subrepresentations of quasi-regular representations.Supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMS-8903472.Supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. DMS-8901436.  相似文献

For the action of a locally compact and totally disconnected group G on a pair of locally compact spaces X and Y we construct, by sheaf theoretic means, a new equivariant and bivariant cohomology theory. If we take for the first space Y an universal proper G-action then we obtain for the second space its delocalized equivariant homology. This is in exact formal analogy to the definition of equivariant K-homology by Baum, Connes, Higson starting from the bivariant equivariant Kasparov KK-theory. Under certain basic finiteness conditions on the first space Y we conjecture the existence of a Chern character from the equivariant Kasparov KK-theory of Y and X into our cohomology theory made two-periodic which becomes an isomorphism upon tensoring the KK-theory with the complex numbers. This conjecture is proved for profinite groups G. An essential role in our construction is played by a bivariant version of Segal localization which we establish for KK-theory.  相似文献

We construct two cohomological invariants associated to pairs of Lagrangian sub-bundles of a symplectic bundle on a compact manifold upon which a compact Lie group is acting. The first invariant, which we call the classical equivariant Maslov H-invariant, provides an obstruction to Lagrangian transversality and lives in the Borel cohomology. The second invariant, which we call the equivariant Maslov U-invariant, generalises the author's results in K-Theory 13 (1998), 347–361 to the equivariant context and provides a necessary and sufficient condition for equivariant Lagrangian transversality, up to homotopic stability, and lives in the U-theory (intermediate between the real complex K-theories). As an application, we show that two Lagrangian sub-bundles of a symplectic bundle on a homogeneous space are always stably transverse.  相似文献

We construct an equivariant infinite loop space machine denned on certain class of monoidal O G -categories which have built-in Mackey structure. Applications include the equivariant infinite delooping of the classifying space BF(G) for stable spherical G-fibrations and also the construction of an infinite loop G-space E(X, G) with 0 HE (X, G) naturally isomorphic to the equivariant Whitehead groups Wh H (X) of given G-space X.Dedicated to Professor Shôrô Araki on his sixtieth birthday  相似文献

In this paper, we present an analog of the Sauer theorem for projectively equivalent surfaces in the class of infinitely small equiareal deformations that pointwise preserve the spherical image of the surface.  相似文献

This paper presents a translation of a theorem of Cartan into an equivariant setting. This work is largely based on the study of the homotopical algebra in the sense of Quillen of the category of simplicial objects over the category of rationalO g-vector spaces. The application is a solution to the equivariant commutative cochain problem. This solution is slightly better than the solution obtained earlier by Triantafillou in that the transformation groupG need not be finite.  相似文献

We define an equivariant K 0-theory for Yetter–Drinfeld algebras over a Hopf algebra with an invertible antipode. We then show that this definition can be generalized to all Hopf-module algebras. We show that there exists a pairing, generalizing Connes pairing, between this theory and a suitably defined Hopf algebra equivariant cyclic cohomology theory.  相似文献

We discuss and formulate the correct equivariant generalization of the strong Novikov conjecture. This will be the statement that certain G-equivariant higher signatures (living in suitable equivariant K-groups) are invariant under G-maps of manifolds which, nonequivariantly, are homotopy equivalences preserving orientation. We prove this conjecture for manifolds modeled on a complete Riemannian manifold of nonpositive curvature on which G (a compact Lie group) acts by isometries. We also use the theory of harmonic maps to construct (in some cases) G-maps into such model spaces.Dedicated to Alexander GrothendieckPartially supported by NSF Grants DMS 84-00900 and 87-00551.Partially supported by NSF Grant DMS 86-02980, a Presidential Young Investigator Award, and a Sloan Foundation Fellowship.  相似文献

In this paper we study the stability of the Baum–Connes conjecture with coefficients undertaking group extensions. For this, it is necessary to extend Kasparov's equivariant KK-theory to an equivariant theory for twisted actions of groups on C *-algebras. As a consequence of our stability results, we are able to reduce the problem of whether closed subgroups of connected groups satisfy the Baum–Connes conjecture, with coefficients to the special case of center-free semi-simple Lie groups.  相似文献

Motivated by topological quantum field theory, we investigate the geometric aspects of unitary 2-representations of finite groups on 2-Hilbert spaces, and their 2-characters. We show how the basic ideas of geometric quantization are ‘categorified’ in this context: just as representations of groups correspond to equivariant line bundles, 2-representations of groups correspond to equivariant gerbes. We also show how the 2-character of a 2-representation can be made functorial with respect to morphisms of 2-representations. Under the geometric correspondence, the 2-character of a 2-representation corresponds to the geometric character of its associated equivariant gerbe. This enables us to show that the complexified 2-character is a unitarily fully faithful functor from the complexified Grothendieck category of unitary 2-representations to the category of unitary conjugation equivariant vector bundles over the group.  相似文献

We consider the relationship between the Shapovalov form on an irreducible highest weight module of a semisimple complex Lie algebra, fusion elements, and equivariant quantization. We also discuss some limiting properties of fusion elements.  相似文献

For a finite group G we define an involution on the equivariant Whitehead group given by reversing the direction of an equivariant h-cobordism. It turns out that the involution is not compatible with the splitting of the equivariant Whitehead group into a direct sum of algebraic Whitehead groups, certain correction terms involving the transfer maps of the normal sphere bundles of the various fixed point sets come in. However, if the group has odd order, these transfer maps all vanish. We prove a duality formula for a G-homotopy equivalence (f f): (M; M) (N, N) relating the equivariant Whitehead torsion of f and (f,f).  相似文献

We study the Berezin-Toeplitz quantization on symplectic manifolds making use of the full off-diagonal asymptotic expansion of the Bergman kernel. We give also a characterization of Toeplitz operators in terms of their asymptotic expansion. The semi-classical limit properties of the Berezin-Toeplitz quantization for non-compact manifolds and orbifolds are also established.
