Octakis(bromomethyl)naphthalene (4) adopts in the crystal a chiral conformation with a helical central naphthalene core and the bromomethyl groups disposed in an alternate up-down "in" arrangement. According to MM3 calculations, this conformation is less stable than the corresponding all alternated "out" form, while B3LYP/LANL2DZ calculations suggest the opposite stability order. The topomerization barrier (16.0 kcal mol(-1)) is ascribed to an enantiomerization process requiring 180 degrees rotation of all the bromomethyl groups and reversal of the helical sense of the naphthalene core.  相似文献

[structure: see text] The stereomutations in nonsymmetrical salophen ligands 1-4 were studied by means of dynamic NMR and HPLC methods. DNMR experiments showed that in DMSO-d(6) hindered ligands 2-4 exist in two chiral conformations, depending on whether the imine carbon atoms are in a cis or trans disposition with respect to the plane of the central o-phenylenediamine ring, the latter being more stable by 1.0 kcal mol(-1). Owing to its higher dipole moment, in the apolar solvent C(6)D(6) the cis conformer is destabilized with respect to the trans one, in agreement with the results of ab initio calculations. In DMSO-d(6) solution the two conformers are in equilibrium through the less hindered rotation about the C6-N7 bond aligned to the a(6,7) axis, and the interconversion barriers range from 18.4 to 19.3 kcal mol(-1). The enantiomerization process is a two step-process that implies sequential rotations around the C6-N7 and the C1-N8 bonds, so that the rate determining step is the slower rotation around the more hindered C1-N8 bond aligned to the a(1,8) axis, and the energy barriers range from 21.4 to 21.9 kcal mol(-1). These values compare well with those determined by chromatography on an enantioselective HPLC column at low temperature, thus confirming that DNMR and DHPLC can be conveniently employed as complementary techniques.  相似文献

Achiral (8a) and chiral (8b) N-(2,4-dinitrobenzenesulfenyl)acridone derivatives were synthesized. Addition of the chiral solvating agent (S)- 2,2,2-trifluro-1-(anthryl)ethanol to 8a rendered the enantiotopic groups on the acridone ring diastereotopic and anisochronous, thus allowing the estimation of a lower limit for the rotational barrier about the S-N bond (18.7 kcal mol(-)(1)) by NMR spectroscopy. 8b and the previously reported chiral sulfenamide 5 (Raban, M.; Martin, V. A.; Craine, L. J. Org. Chem. 1990, 55, 4311) were resolved on a Chiracel OD HPLC column. This constitutes the first resolution of stereostable enantiomers of a compound in which the chirality is due only to the presence of the S-N chiral axis. The rotational barriers of both compounds are nearly equal (22.7-22. 8 kcal mol(-)(1) at 303.7 K) and are the largest determined to date for the rotation about the S-N bond in sulfenamides. The relatively high enantiomerization barrier for 8b is remarkable since the peri positions are unsubstituted.  相似文献

The barrier for rotation about an N-alkylcarbamate C(carbonyl)-N bond is around 16 kcal/mol. In the case of an N-phenylcarbamate, the rotational barrier is lowered to 12.5 kcal/mol, but with N-(2-pyrimidyl)carbamates the barriers are so low (<9 kcal/mol) that the syn and anti rotamers cannot be observed as separate signals by 500 MHz NMR spectroscopy at 183 K. X-ray and computational data show that the N-(2-pyrimidyl) carbamates have C(carbonyl)-N bonds that are on average 0.03 A longer than for related N-phenylcarbamates. The computational results trace the origin of the effect to increased single bond character for the C(carbonyl)-N bond due to the increased electron-withdrawing ability of the pyrimidyl ring.  相似文献

The topomerization mechanisms of the SF(4) and SCl(2)F(2) sulfuranes, as well as their higher (SeF(4), TeF(4)) and isoelectronic analogues PF(4)(-), AsF(4)(-), SbF(4)(-), SbCl(4)(-), ClF(4)(+), BrF(4)(+), BrCl(2)F(2)(+), and IF(4)(+)), have been computed at B3LYP/6-31+G and at B3LYP/6-311+G. All species have trigonal bipyramidal (TBP) C(2)(v)() ground states. In such four-coordinated molecules, Berry rotation exchanges both axial with two equatorial ligands simultaneously while the alternative "lever" mechanism exchanges only one axial ligand with one equatorial ligand. While the barrier for the lever exchange in SF(4) (18.8 kcal mol(-1)) is much higher than that for the Berry process (8.1 kcal mol(-1)), both mechanisms are needed for complete ligand exchange. The F(ax)F(ax) and F(eq)F(eq) isomers of SF(2)Cl(2) have nearly the same energy and readily interconvert by BPR with a barrier of 7.6 kcal mol(-1). The enantiomerization of the F(ax)F(eq) chiral isomer can occur by either the Berry process (transition state barrier 8.3 kcal mol(-1)) or the "lever" mechanism via either of two C(s)() transition states, based on the TBP geometry: Cl(ax) <--> Cl(eq) or F(ax) <--> F(eq) exchanges with barriers of 6.3 and 15.7 kcal mol(-1), respectively. Full scrambling of all ligand sites is possible only by inclusion of the lever mechanism. Planar, "tetrahedral", and triplet forms are much higher in energy. The TBP C(3)(v) structures of AX(4) either have two imaginary frequencies (NIMAG = 2) for the X = F, Cl species or are minima (NIMAG = 0) for the X = Br, I compounds. These "effective monkey saddle points" have degenerate modes with two small frequencies, imaginary or real. Although a strictly defined "monkey saddle" (with degenerate frequencies exactly zero) is not allowed, the flat C(3)(v) symmetry region serves as a "transition state" for trifurcation of the pathways. The BPR mechanism also is preferred over the alternative lever process in the topomerization of the selenurane SeF(4) (barriers 5.9 vs. 12.1 kcal mol(-1)), the tellurane TeF(4) (2.1 vs. 6.4), and the interhalogen cations ClF(4)(+) (2.5 vs 14.8), BrF(4)(+) (4.7 vs. 11.3), BrF(2)Cl(2)(+) (14.6 vs. 17.4), and IF(4)(+) (1.4 vs. 6.0), as well as for the series PF(4)(-) (7.0 vs. 9.0), AsF(4)(-) (9.3 vs. 17.2), and SbF(4)(-) (3.8 vs. 5.3 kcal mol(-1)), all computed at B3LYP/6-311+G with the inclusion of quasirelativistic pseudopotentials for Te, I, and Sb. The heavier halogens increasingly favor the lever process, where the barrier (2.6 kcal mol(-1)) pertaining to the effective monkey saddle point (C(3)(v) minimum for SbCl(4)(-)) is less than that for the Berry process (8.2 kcal mol(-1)).  相似文献

The stereochemistry of the spherand-type calixarene 2a is analyzed in terms of the configuration of the three 2,2'-dihydroxybiphenyl subunits (R or S) and the disposition of the methylene groups (crown or twist). X-ray crystallography indicates that the neutral 2a and its mono- or dianion (in form of the salts 2a(-) x C(5)H(5)NH(+) and 2a(2)(-) x 2Et(3)NH(+)) exist essentially in the same conformation (RRS/SSR-twist). This asymmetric RRS/SSR-twist form is the lowest energy conformer according to molecular mechanics calculations. Low-temperature (1)H NMR data indicate the presence of a major conformer of C(1) symmetry, in agreement with a RRS/SSR-twist form. The lowest energy topomerization pathway mutually exchanges two pairs of methylene protons and is ascribed to an enantiomerization process involving rotation around an Ar-Ar bond.  相似文献

Single enantiomers of 1,8-di(1-adamantyl)naphthalenes were synthesized by the [4+2]cycloaddition reaction of 6-adamantylbenzyne and 2-adamantylfuran. The enantiomers were resolved by conversion into diastereomeric ketopinic acid esters. The absolute configuration was determined by X-ray analysis. Kinetic studies by CD revealed an enantiomerization barrier of 29 kcal mol(-1) for 1,8-(1-adamantyl)naphthalenes.  相似文献

Long-range carbon atom topomerization in a 1,3-diyne has been demonstrated for the first time. 1-Phenyl-4-p-tolyl-1,3-butadiyne, (13)C-enriched at C-1, was synthesized and subjected to flash vacuum pyrolysis. At 800 degrees C and 0.01 Torr, this resulted in nearly complete (13)C label equilibration between C-1 and C-2, as seen by NMR analysis. Pyrolysis at 900 degrees C further led to ca. 35% of the label migrating about equally to C-3 and C-4. These results demonstrate that both intrabond and interbond atom exchange processes are operative, with the former having a lower activation barrier. DFT and Moller-Plesset calculations support a mechanism that passes through Brown rearrangement (1,2-shift), closure to trialene (bicyclo[1.1.0]-1,3-butadiene), bond-shift isomerization to exchange C-2 and C-3, and ring opening. The resulting vinylidene can rearrange to a butadiyne with the isotopic label at C-3 or C-4. Consistent with earlier calculations, trialene is predicted to have alternating peripheral bonds, with a weak central sigma bond and significant diradical character. Trialene is predicted [(B3LYP/6-311+G(2d,p)] to lie 64.6 kcal/mol above butadiyne, with barriers of 2.2 and 4.4 kcal/mol, respectively, for ring opening or bond-shift isomerization. Other potential rearrangement mechanisms which pass through tetrahedrene (E(rel) = 167.2 kcal/mol) or 1,2,3-cyclobutatriene (E(rel) = 161.1 kcal/mol) lie at much higher energies.  相似文献

The singlet ground ((approximate)X(1)Sigma1+) and excited (1Sigma-,1Delta) states of HCP and HPC have been systematically investigated using ab initio molecular electronic structure theory. For the ground state, geometries of the two linear stationary points have been optimized and physical properties have been predicted utilizing restricted self-consistent field theory, coupled cluster theory with single and double excitations (CCSD), CCSD with perturbative triple corrections [CCSD(T)], and CCSD with partial iterative triple excitations (CCSDT-3 and CC3). Physical properties computed for the global minimum ((approximate)X(1)Sigma+HCP) include harmonic vibrational frequencies with the cc-pV5Z CCSD(T) method of omega1=3344 cm(-1), omega2=689 cm(-1), and omega3=1298 cm(-1). Linear HPC, a stationary point of Hessian index 2, is predicted to lie 75.2 kcal mol(-1) above the global minimum HCP. The dissociation energy D0[HCP((approximate)X(1)Sigma+)-->H(2S)+CP(X2Sigma+)] of HCP is predicted to be 119.0 kcal mol(-1), which is very close to the experimental lower limit of 119.1 kcal mol(-1). Eight singlet excited states were examined and their physical properties were determined employing three equation-of-motion coupled cluster methods (EOM-CCSD, EOM-CCSDT-3, and EOM-CC3). Four stationary points were located on the lowest-lying excited state potential energy surface, 1Sigma- -->1A", with excitation energies Te of 101.4 kcal mol(-1) (1A"HCP), 104.6 kcal mol(-1)(1Sigma-HCP), 122.3 kcal mol(-1)(1A" HPC), and 171.6 kcal mol(-1)(1Sigma-HPC) at the cc-pVQZ EOM-CCSDT-3 level of theory. The physical properties of the 1A" state with a predicted bond angle of 129.5 degrees compare well with the experimentally reported first singlet state ((approximate)A1A"). The excitation energy predicted for this excitation is T0=99.4 kcal mol(-1) (34 800 cm(-1),4.31 eV), in essentially perfect agreement with the experimental value of T0=99.3 kcal mol(-1)(34 746 cm(-1),4.308 eV). For the second lowest-lying excited singlet surface, 1Delta-->1A', four stationary points were found with Te values of 111.2 kcal mol(-1) (2(1)A' HCP), 112.4 kcal mol(-1) (1Delta HPC), 125.6 kcal mol(-1)(2(1)A' HCP), and 177.8 kcal mol(-1)(1Delta HPC). The predicted CP bond length and frequencies of the 2(1)A' state with a bond angle of 89.8 degrees (1.707 A, 666 and 979 cm(-1)) compare reasonably well with those for the experimentally reported (approximate)C(1)A' state (1.69 A, 615 and 969 cm(-1)). However, the excitation energy and bond angle do not agree well: theoretical values of 108.7 kcal mol(-1) and 89.8 degrees versus experimental values of 115.1 kcal mol(-1) and 113 degrees. of 115.1 kcal mol(-1) and 113 degrees.  相似文献

Six water molecules have been used for microsolvation to outline a hydrogen bonded network around complexes of ethylene epoxide with nucleotide bases adenine (EAw), guanine (EGw) and cytosine (ECw). These models have been developed with the MPWB1K-PCM/6-311++G(3df,2p)//MPWB1K/6-31+G(d,p) level of DFT method and calculated S(N)2 type ring opening of the epoxide due to amino group of the nucleotide bases, viz. the N6 position of adenine, N2 position of guanine and N4 position of cytosine. Activation energy (E(act)) for the ring opening was found to be 28.06, 28.64, and 28.37 kcal mol(-1) respectively for EAw, EGw and ECw. If water molecules were not used, the reactions occurred at considerably high value of E(act), viz. 53.51 kcal mol(-1) for EA, 55.76 kcal mol(-1) for EG and 56.93 kcal mol(-1) for EC. The ring opening led to accumulation of negative charge on the developing alkoxide moiety and the water molecules around the charge localized regions showed strong hydrogen bond interactions to provide stability to the intermediate systems EAw-1, EGw-1 and ECw-1. This led to an easy migration of a proton from an activated water molecule to the alkoxide moiety to generate a hydroxide. Almost simultaneously, a proton transfer chain reaction occurred through the hydrogen bonded network of water molecules and resulted in the rupture of one of the N-H bonds of the quaternized amino group. The highest value of E(act) for the proton transfer step of the reaction was 2.17 kcal mol(-1) for EAw, 2.93 kcal mol(-1) for EGw and 0.02 kcal mol(-1) for ECw. Further, the overall reaction was exothermic by 17.99, 22.49 and 13.18 kcal mol(-1) for EAw, EGw and ECw, respectively, suggesting that the reaction is irreversible. Based on geometric features of the epoxide-nucleotide base complexes and the energetics, the highest reactivity is assigned for adenine followed by cytosine and guanine. Epoxide-mediated damage of DNA is reported in the literature and the present results suggest that hydrated DNA bases become highly S(N)2 active on epoxide systems and the occurrence of such reactions can inflict permanent damage to the DNA.  相似文献

Hydrogen abstraction from 2-aminoethanol by the 5'-deoxyadenosyl radical, which is formed upon Co--C bond homolysis in coenzyme B(12), was investigated by theoretical means with employment of the DFT (B3LYP) and ab initio (MP2) approaches. As a model system for the 5'-deoxyadenosyl moiety the computationally less demanding 1,5-dideoxyribose was employed; two conformers, which differ in ring conformation (C2- and C3-endo), were considered. If hydrogen is abstracted from "free" substrate by the C2-endo conformer of the 1,5-dideoxyribose-5-yl radical, the activation enthalpy is 16.7 kcal mol(-1); with the C3-endo counterpart, the value is 17.3 kcal mol(-1). These energetic requirements are slightly above the activation enthalpy limit (15 kcal mol(-1)) determined experimentally for the rate-determining step of the sequence, that is, hydrogen delivery from 5'-deoxyadenosine to the product radical. The activation enthalpy is lower when the substrate interacts with at least one amino acid from the active site. According to the computations, when a His model system partially protonates the substrate the activation enthalpy is 4.5 kcal mol(-1) for the C3-endo conformer and 5.8 kcal mol(-1) for the C2-endo counterpart. As hydrogen abstraction from the fully as well as the partially protonated substrate is preceded by the formation of quite stable encounter complexes, the actual activation barriers are around 13-15 kcal mol(-1). A synergistic interaction of 2-aminoethanol with two amino acids where His partially protonates the NH(2) group and Asp partially deprotonates the OH group of the substrate results in an activation enthalpy of 12.4 kcal mol(-1) for the C3-endo conformer and 13.2 kcal mol(-1) for the C2-endo counterpart. However, if encounter complexes exist in the active site, the actual activation barriers are much higher (>25 kcal mol(-1)) than that reported for the rate-determining step. These findings together with previous computations suggest that the energetics of the initial hydrogen abstraction decrease with an interaction of the substrate with only a protonating auxiliary, but for the rearrangement of the radical the synergistic effects of two auxiliaries are essential to pull the barrier below the limit of 15 kcal mol(-1).  相似文献

The heats of formation of saturated and unsaturated diaminocarbenes (imadazol(in)-2-ylidenes) have been calculated by using high levels of ab initio electronic structure theory. The calculations were done at the coupled cluster level through noniterative triple excitations with augmented correlation consistent basis sets up through quadruple. In addition, four other corrections were applied to the frozen core atomization energies: (1) a zero point vibrational correction; (2) a core/valence correlation correction; (3) a scalar relativistic correction; (4) a first-order atomic spin-orbit correction. The value of DeltaHf( 298) for the unsaturated carbene 1 is calculated to be 56.4 kcal/mol. The value of DeltaHf( 298) for the unsaturated triplet carbene (3)1 is calculated to be 142.8 kcal/mol, giving a singlet-triplet splitting of 86.4 kcal/mol. Addition of a proton to 1 forms 3 with DeltaHf( 298)(3) = 171.6 kcal/mol with a proton affinity for 1 of 250.5 kcal/mol at 298 K. Addition of a hydrogen atom to 1 forms 4 with DeltaHf( 298)(4) = 72.7 kcal/mol and a C-H bond energy of 35.8 kcal/mol at 298 K. Addition of H- to 1 gives 5 with DeltaHf( 298)(5) = 81.2 kcal/mol and 5 is not stable with respect to loss of an electron to form 4. Addition of H2 to the carbene center forms 6 with DeltaHf( 298)(6) = 41.5 kcal/mol and a heat of hydrogenation at 298 K of -14.9 kcal/mol. The value of DeltaHf( 298) for the saturated carbene 7 (obtained by adding H2 to the C=C bond of 1) is 47.4 kcal/mol. Hydrogenation of 7 to form the fully saturated imidazolidine, 8, gives DeltaHf( 298)(8) = 14.8 kcal/mol and a heat of hydrogenation at 298 K of -32.6 kcal/mol. The estimated error bars for the calculated heats of formation are +/-1.0 kcal/mol.  相似文献

MINDO/2-SCF-MO calculations for the ground state properties of N-methyl- and N-phenyl-azomethin have been carried out. The calculated rotation barrier for the methyl group in N-methyl-azomethin was 0·8 kcal/mol, the eclipsed conformation being most stable. The calculated rotation barrier about the CN bond in the protonated methylazomethin was 27·9 kcal/mol. MINDO/1-SCF-MO treatment for the N-inversion barrier of the unprotonated species yielded 13·00 kcal/mol. Similar MINDO/2 calculations for N-phenylazomethin yielded 4·0 kcal/mol for the rotation barrier of the phenyl ring around the CN= bond, the perpendicular conformation of the ring to the CNC plane being most stable. For the corresponding N protonated derivative the value 27·3 kcal/mol was calculated for the rotation barrier around the CN bond. MINDO/1 treatment yielded an inversion barrier of 14·0 kcal/mol for N-phenylazomethin.  相似文献

The mechanisms of C-H and C-C bond activations with dimethyldioxirane (DMD) were studied experimentally and computationally at the B3LYP/6-311+G**//B3LYP/6-31G* density functional theory level for the propellanes 3,6-dehydrohomoadamantane (2) and 1,3-dehydroadamantane (3). The sigma(C-C) activation of 3 with DMD (Delta G(*) = 23.9 kcal mol(-1) and Delta G(r) = -5.4 kcal mol(-1)) is the first example of a molecule-induced homolytic C-C bond cleavage. The C-H bond hydroxylation observed for 2 is highly exergonic (Delta G(r) = -74.4 kcal mol(-1)) and follows a concerted pathway (Delta G(*) = 34.8 kcal mol(-1)), in contrast to its endergonic molecule-induced homolysis (Delta G(*) = 28.8 kcal mol(-1) and Delta G(r) = +9.2 kcal mol(-1)). The reactivities of 2 and 3 with CrO(2)Cl(2), which follow a molecule-induced homolytic activation mechanism, parallel the DMD results only for highly reactive 3, but differ considerably for more stable propellanes such as 4-phenyl-3,6-dehydrohomoadamantane (1) and 2.  相似文献

Decarboxylation of 1-bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanecarboxylate anion does not afford 1-bicyclo[1.1.1]pentyl anion as previously assumed. Instead, a ring-opening isomerization which ultimately leads to 1,4-pentadien-2-yl anion takes place. A 1-bicyclo[1.1.1]pentyl anion was prepared nevertheless via the fluoride-induced desilylation of 1-tert-butyl-3-(trimethylsilyl)bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane. The electron affinity of 3-tert-butyl-1-bicyclo[1.1.1]pentyl radical (14.8 plus minus 3.2 kcal/mol) was measured by bracketing, and the acidity of 1-tert-butylbicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (408.5 +/- 0.9) was determined by the DePuy kinetic method. These values are well-reproduced by G2 and G3 calculations and can be combined in a thermodynamic cycle to provide a bridgehead C-H bond dissociation energy (BDE) of 109.7 +/- 3.3 kcal/mol for 1-tert-butylbicyclo[1.1.1]pentane. This bond energy is the strongest tertiary C-H bond to be measured, is much larger than the corresponding bond in isobutane (96.5 +/- 0.4 kcal/mol), and is more typical of an alkene or aromatic compound. The large BDE can be explained in terms of hybridization.  相似文献

Ab initio self-consistent field (SCF) Hartree-Fock calculations of sulfates R? O? SO3(?1) (R = Me, Et, i-Pr) and sulfamates R? NHSO3(?1) (R = H, Me, Et, i-Pr) were performed at the 4-31G(*S*N) //3-21G(*S*N) basis set levels, where asterisks indicate d functions on sulfur and nitrogen atoms. These standard levels were determined by comparing calculation results with several basis sets up to MP2/6-31G*//6-31G*. Several conformations per compound were studied to obtain molecular geometries, rotational barriers, and potential derived point charges. In methyl sulfate, the rotational barrier around the C? O bond is 1.6 kcal/mol at the MP2 level and 1.4 kcal/mol at the standard level. Its ground state has one of three HCOS torsion angles trans and one of three COSO torsion angles trans. Rotation over 60° around the single O? S bond in the sulfate group costs 2.5 kcal/mol at the MP2 and 2.1 kcal/mol at the standard level. For ethyl sulfate, the calculated rotational barrier in going from the ground state, which has its CCOS torsion angle trans, to the syn-periplanar conformation (CCOS torsion angle cis) is 4.8 kcal/mol. However, a much lower barrier of 0.7 kcal/mol leads to a secondary gauchelike conformation about 0.4 kcal/mol above the ground state, with the CCOS torsion angle at 87.6°. Again, one of the COSO torsion angles is trans in the ground state, and the rotational barrier for a 60° rotation of the sulfate group amounts to 1.8 kcal/mol. For methyl sulfamate, the rotational barriers are 2.5 kcal/mol around the C? N bond and 3.3 kcal/mol around the N? S bond. This is noteworthy because sulfamate itself has a calculated rotational barrier around the N? S bond of only 1.7 kcal/mol. These and other data were used to parameterize the well-known empirical force fields AMBER and CHARMm. When the new fields were tested by means of vibrational frequency calculations at the 6-31G*//6-31G* level for methyl sulfate, sulfamate, and methyl sulfamate ground states, the frequencies compared favorably with the AMBER and CHARMm calculated frequencies. The transferability of the force parameters to β-D -glucose-6-sulfate and isopropyl sulfate appears to be better than to isopropyl sulfamate. © 1995 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Quantum chemical calculations were applied to investigate the electronic structure of mono-, di-, and trilithiated digermanium (Ge2Lin) and their cations (n=0-3). Computations using a multiconfigurational quasidegenerate perturbation approach based on complete active space self-consistent-field wave functions, and density functional theory reveal that Ge2Li has a 2B1 ground state with a doublet-quartet energy gap of 33 kcal/mol. Ge2Li2 has a singlet ground state with a 3Au-1A1 gap of 29 kcal/mol, and Ge2Li3 a doublet ground state with a 4B2-2A2 separation of 22 kcal/mol. The cation Ge2Li+ has a 3B1 ground state, being 13 kcal/mol below the open-shell 1B1 state. The computed electron affinities for diatomic germanium are EA(1)=1.9 eV, EA(2)=-2.5 eV, and EA(3)=-6.0 eV, for Ge2-, Ge2 (2-), and Ge2 (3-), respectively, indicating that only the monoanion is stable with respect to electron detachment, in such a way that Ge2Li is composed by Ge2-Li+ ions. An "atoms-in-molecules" analysis shows the absence of a ring critical point in Ge(2)Li. An electron localization function analysis on Ge2Li supports the view that the Ge-Li bond is predominantly ionic; however, a small covalent character could be anticipated from the analysis of the Laplacian at the Ge-Li bond critical point. The ionic picture of the Ge-Li bond is further supported by a natural-bond-order analysis and the Laplacian of the electron density. The calculated Li affinity value for Ge2 is 2.08 eV, while the Li+ cation affinity value for Ge2- is 5.7 eV. The larger Li+ cation affinity value of Ge2- suggests a Ge2-Li+ interaction and thus supports the ionic nature of Ge-Li bond. In GeLi4 and Ge2Li, the presence of trisynaptic basins indicates a three-center bond connecting the germanium and lithium atoms.  相似文献

For 1-amino- and 1-oxy-2-1,2,3-triazolines, retardation (on the NMR time scale) is observed for rotation around the exocyclic N-N or N-O bond; the measured barriers to topomerization amount to 8.3–13.8 kcal/mole.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 4, pp. 790–794, April, 1991.  相似文献

The electronic structure and geometries of (Z)- and (E)-H-CON- N+(CH3)3 have been examined at two levels of theory: B3LYP (basis sets 6-311+G(d,p), 6-311++G(d,p), and 6-311G(3df,3pd)) and MP2(full)/6-311++G(d,p). The (Z) conformation about the C(O)-N(-) bond is thermodynamically preferred over the (E) configuration. Natural bond orbital calculation locates one lone pair of the N- in the HOMO, which is the p(z) natural hybrid orbital (perpendicular to the O=CN- N+ plane). The second lone pair (of lower energy) of N- occupies the HOMO-3, which is the natural hybrid orbital sp(1.12) (sp(1.01) for the (E) conformation, sp(1.74) in the rotational transition state). The carbonyl pi bond is the HOMO-2. The charge-transfer ability of the negative nitrogen in H-CON- N+ (CH3)3 is more powerful than that of the neutral amidic nitrogen in dimethylformamide. The following facts convincingly sustain this view: (1) the higher rotational barrier (stronger C-N(-) bond) in the case of H-CON- N+ (CH3)3, (2) natural resonance theory analysis predicts almost equal weights for the (Z)-H-C(=O)N- N+ (CH3)3 and the (Z)-H-C(O-)=NN+ (CH3)3 canonical resonance structures whereas the weight of the HCON(CH3)2 structure is almost twice as large as that of HC(O-)=N+ (CH3)2, and (3) the second-order perturbation stabilization, as a result of the donor (N-)/acceptor (carbonyl) interaction, is 101.3 kcal/mol for H-CON- N+ (CH3)3 and only 64.4 kcal/mol for dimethylformamide.  相似文献

A bond energy decomposition analysis has been carried out to rationalize the well-established experimental fact that C-C and C-H bond energies decrease with increasing substitution on the carbon. It is shown that this trend is set by steric 1,3 repulsive interactions (geminal repulsion) that increase in the order 1,3 hydrogen-hydrogen < 1,3 hydrogen-carbon < 1,3 carbon-carbon. On the other hand, the radical stabilization energy has little influence on the observed trend for the C-H bond energy in H-CR(1)R(2)R(3) or the C-C bond energy in H(3)C-CR(1)R(2)R(3). Thus, it varies in H-CR(1)R(2)R(3) from -7.2 kcal/mol (H-CH3) to -6.5 kcal/mol (H-C(CH3)3) and in H(3)C-CR(1)R(2)R(3) from -19.0 kcal/mol (H(3)C-CH(3)) to -16.9 kcal/mol (H(3)C-C(CH(3))(3)). It was further found that the average intrinsic C-H bond energy in H-CR(1)R(2)R(3) of 129.2 kcal/mol is smaller than the average intrinsic C-C bond energy in H(3)C-CR(1)R(2)R(3) of 143.4 kcal/mol. However, after the inclusion of steric effects, the overall C-H bond becomes stronger than the C-C bond. The role of steric 1,3 repulsive interactions as the trend setting factor has most recently been suggested by Gronert (J. Org. Chem. 2006, 71, 1209) based on an empirical fit of alkane atomization energies.  相似文献
