Recently, Kim and Oh expressed the Selberg integral in terms of the number of Young books which are a generalization of standard Young tableaux of shifted staircase shape. In this paper the generating function for Young books according to major index statistic is considered. It is shown that this generating function can be written as a Jackson integral which gives a new q-Selberg integral. It is also shown that the new q-Selberg integral has an expression in terms of Schur functions.  相似文献

The block number of a permutation is the maximum number of components in its expression as a direct sum. We show that, for 321-avoiding permutations, the set of left-to-right maxima has the same distribution when the block number is assumed to be k, as when the last descent of the inverse is assumed to be at position \(n - k\). This result is analogous to the Foata–Schützenberger equidistribution theorem, and implies that the quasi-symmetric generating function of the descent set over 321-avoiding permutations with a prescribed number of blocks is Schur-positive.  相似文献

We reveal a relation between the operations of α-completion and closure for the systems of functions of a k-valued logic. For k = 3, 4 we construct the α-bases consisting of two binary operations. We prove that the complete system T of functions of a 4-valued logic containing all permutations of the set E 4 = {0, 1, 2, 3} and the operation of addition modulo 4 is not α-complete, whereas its α-completion [T α] will be an α-complete system.  相似文献

We generalize overpartitions to (kj)-colored partitions: k-colored partitions in which each part size may have at most j colors. We find numerous congruences and other symmetries. We use a wide array of tools to prove our theorems: generating function dissections, modular forms, bijections, and other combinatorial maps. In the process of proving certain congruences, we find results of independent interest on the number of partitions with exactly 2 sizes of part in several arithmetic progressions. We find connections to divisor sums, the Han/Nekrasov–Okounkov hook length formula and a possible approach to finitization, and other topics, suggesting that a rich mine of results is available. We pose several immediate questions and conjectures.  相似文献

Genomic tableaux     
We explain how genomic tableaux [Pechenik–Yong ’15] are a semistandard complement to increasing tableaux [Thomas–Yong ’09]. From this perspective, one inherits genomic versions of jeu de taquin, Knuth equivalence, infusion and Bender–Knuth involutions, as well as Schur functions from (shifted) semistandard Young tableaux theory. These are applied to obtain new Littlewood–Richardson rules for K-theory Schubert calculus of Grassmannians (after [Buch ’02]) and maximal orthogonal Grassmannians (after [Clifford–Thomas–Yong ’14], [Buch–Ravikumar ’12]). For the unsolved case of Lagrangian Grassmannians, sharp upper and lower bounds using genomic tableaux are conjectured.  相似文献

We consider the k-level facility location problem with soft capacities (k-LFLPSC). In the k-LFLPSC, each facility i has a soft capacity u i along with an initial opening cost f i ≥ 0, i.e., the capacity of facility i is an integer multiple of u i incurring a cost equals to the corresponding multiple of f i . We firstly propose a new bifactor (ln(1/β)/(1 ?β),1+2/(1 ?β))-approximation algorithm for the k-level facility location problem (k-LFLP), where β ∈ (0, 1) is a fixed constant. Then, we give a reduction from the k-LFLPSC to the k-LFLP. The reduction together with the above bifactor approximation algorithm for the k-LFLP imply a 5.5053-approximation algorithm for the k-LFLPSC which improves the previous 6-approximation.  相似文献

In the present paper we prove a criterion of Lip k -paracompactness for infinitedimensional manifold M modeled in nonnormable topological vector Fréchet space F. We establish that a manifold is Lip k -paracompact if and only if the model space F is paracompact and Lip k -normal. We prove a sufficient condition for existence of Lip k -partition of a unity on a manifold of class Lip k .  相似文献

In a previous paper of the second author with K. Ono, surprising multiplicative properties of the partition function were presented. Here, we deal with k-regular partitions. Extending the generating function for k-regular partitions multiplicatively to a function on k-regular partitions, we show that it takes its maximum at an explicitly described small set of partitions, and can thus easily be computed. The basis for this is an extension of a classical result of Lehmer, from which an inequality for the generating function for k-regular partitions is deduced which seems not to have been noticed before.  相似文献

This paper investigates ciphers where the set of encryption functions is identical to the set of decryption functions, which we call reflection ciphers. Equivalently, there exists a permutation P, named the coupling permutation, such that decryption under k corresponds to encryption under P(k). We study the necessary properties for this coupling permutation. Special care has to be taken of some related-key distinguishers since, in the context of reflection ciphers, they may provide attacks in the single-key setting. We then derive some criteria for constructing secure reflection ciphers and analyze the security properties of different families of coupling permutations. Finally, we concentrate on the case of reflection block ciphers and, as an illustration, we provide concrete examples of key schedules corresponding to several coupling permutations, which lead to new variants of the block cipher prince.  相似文献

We prove a conjecture of Okada giving an exact formula for a certain statistic for hook-lengths of partitions:

A graph G is called an (n,k)-graph if κ(G-S)=n-|S| for any S ? V(G) with |S| ≤ k, where ?(G) denotes the connectivity of G. Mader conjectured that for k ≥ 3 the graph K2k+2?(1-factor) is the unique (2k, k)-graph. Kriesell has settled two special cases for k = 3,4. Let k, n, and r be positive integers with k < n and \({r \leq \lfloor \frac{n}{k} \rfloor}\). We determine the facets of the r-stable n, k-hypersimplex. As a result, it turns out that the r-stable n, k-hypersimplex has exactly 2n facets for every \({r < \lfloor \frac{n}{k} \rfloor}\). We then utilize the equations of the facets to study when the r-stable hypersimplex is Gorenstein. For every k > 0 we identify an infinite collection of Gorenstein r-stable hypersimplices, consequently expanding the collection of r-stable hypersimplices known to have unimodal Ehrhart \({\delta}\)-vectors.  相似文献

The k-uniform s-hypertree G = (V,E) is an s-hypergraph, where 1 ≤ sk - 1; and there exists a host tree T with vertex set V such that each edge of G induces a connected subtree of T. In this paper, some properties of uniform s-hypertrees are establised, as well as the upper and lower bounds on the largest H-eigenvalue of the adjacency tensor of k-uniform s-hypertrees in terms of the maximal degree Δ. Moreover, we also show that the gap between the maximum and the minimum values of the largest H-eigenvalue of k-uniform s-hypertrees is just Θ(Δ s/k ).  相似文献

The investigation of the pairs of irreducible characters of the symmetric group S n that have the same set of roots in one of the sets A n and S n ? A n is continued. All such pairs of irreducible characters of the group S n are found in the case when the least of the main diagonal’s lengths of the Young diagrams corresponding to these characters does not exceed 2. Some arguments are obtained for the conjecture that alternating groups A n have no pairs of semiproportional irreducible characters.  相似文献

The (r, d)-relaxed edge-coloring game is a two-player game using r colors played on the edge set of a graph G. We consider this game on forests and more generally, on k-degenerate graphs. If F is a forest with Δ(F)=Δ, then the first player, Alice, has a winning strategy for this game with r=Δ?j and d≥2j+2 for 0≤j≤Δ?1. This both improves and generalizes the result for trees in Dunn, C. (Discret. Math. 307, 1767–1775, 2007). More broadly, we generalize the main result in Dunn, C. (Discret. Math. 307, 1767–1775, 2007) by showing that if G is k-degenerate with Δ(G)=Δ and j∈[Δ+k?1], then there exists a function h(k,j) such that Alice has a winning strategy for this game with r=Δ+k?j and dh(k,j).  相似文献

We obtain exact constants in Jackson-type inequalities for smoothness characteristics Λk(f), k ∈ N, defined by averaging the kth-order finite differences of functions fL2. On the basis of this, for differentiable functions in the classes L2r, r ∈ N, we refine the constants in Jackson-type inequalities containing the kth-order modulus of continuity ωk. For classes of functions defined by their smoothness characteristics Λk(f) and majorants Φ satisfying a number of conditions, we calculate the exact values of certain n-widths.  相似文献

We extend the concept of pattern avoidance in permutations on a totally ordered set to pattern avoidance in permutations on partially ordered sets. The number of permutations on P that avoid the pattern p is denoted A v P (p). We extend a proof of Simion and Schmidt to show that A v P (132)=A v P (123) for any poset P, and we exactly classify the posets for which equality holds.  相似文献

A 2-coloring of the n-cube in the n-dimensional Euclidean space can be considered as an assignment of weights of 1 or 0 to the vertices. Such a colored n-cube is said to be balanced if its center of mass coincides with its geometric center. Let B n,2k be the number of balanced 2-colorings of the n-cube with 2k vertices having weight 1. Palmer, Read, and Robinson conjectured that for n≥1, the sequence \(\{B_{n,2k}\}_{k=0,1,\ldots,2^{n-1}}\) is symmetric and unimodal. We give a proof of this conjecture. We also propose a conjecture on the log-concavity of B n,2k for fixed k, and by probabilistic method we show that it holds when n is sufficiently large.  相似文献
