The derivation algebras of all locally finite dimensional locally simple Lie algebras over a field of characteristic 0 are determined. Every locally finite dimensional Lie algebra of countable dimension is a subalgebra of the outer derivation algebra outder (ℒ) for every Lie algebra ℒ, which is the direct limit of diagonally embedded classical Lie algebras. These outer derivation algebras have dimension ℒ and are never locally finite dimensional. Dedicated to Prof. H. Petersson on the occasion of his 60th birthday  相似文献

We compute explicitly the adjoint cohomology of two ℕ-graded Lie algebras of maximal class (infinite-dimensional filiform Lie algebras) m0 and m2. It is known that up to an isomorphism there are only three ℕ-graded Lie algebras of maximal class. The third algebra from this list is the “positive” part L 1 of the Witt (or Virasoro) algebra, and its adjoint cohomology was computed earlier by Feigin and Fuchs. Finite vs affine W-algebras   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In Section 1 we review various equivalent definitions of a vertex algebra V. The main novelty here is the definition in terms of an indefinite integral of the λ-bracket. In Section 2 we construct, in the most general framework, the Zhu algebra ZhuΓV, an associative algebra which “controls” Γ-twisted representations of the vertex algebra V with a given Hamiltonian operator H. An important special case of this construction is the H-twisted Zhu algebra ZhuH V. In Section 3 we review the theory of non-linear Lie conformal algebras (respectively non-linear Lie algebras). Their universal enveloping vertex algebras (resp. universal enveloping algebras) form an important class of freely generated vertex algebras (resp. PBW generated associative algebras). We also introduce the H-twisted Zhu non-linear Lie algebra ZhuH R of a non-linear Lie conformal algebra R and we show that its universal enveloping algebra is isomorphic to the H-twisted Zhu algebra of the universal enveloping vertex algebra of R. After a discussion of the necessary cohomological material in Section 4, we review in Section 5 the construction and basic properties of affine and finite W-algebras, obtained by the method of quantum Hamiltonian reduction. Those are some of the most intensively studied examples of freely generated vertex algebras and PBW generated associative algebras. Applying the machinery developed in Sections 3 and 4, we then show that the H-twisted Zhu algebra of an affine W-algebra is isomorphic to the finite W-algebra, attached to the same data. In Section 6 we define the Zhu algebra of a Poisson vertex algebra, and we discuss quasiclassical limits. In the Appendix, the equivalence of three definitions of a finite W-algebra is established. “I am an old man, and I know that a definition cannot be so complicated.” I.M. This paper is the first in a series of three, the object of which is to lay the foundations of algebraic geometry over the free metabelian Lie algebra F. In the current paper, we introduce the notion of a metabelian U-Lie algebra and establish connections between metabelian U-Lie algebras and special matrix Lie algebras. We define the Δ-localization of a metabelian U-Lie algebra A and the direct module extension of the Fitting radical of A and show that these algebras lie in the universal closure of A. __________ Translated from Fundamentalnaya i Prikladnaya Matematika, Vol. 9, No. 3, pp. 37–63, 2003.  相似文献

We give a simple and shorter proof of the Gainov theorem in [1], which dealt with classifying non-Lie binary Lie algebras of dimension ≤4 over a field of characteristic ≠2. Concurrently, the case of characteristic 2 is treated, and we find out an exotic 4-dimensional non-Lie Mal'tsev algebra, which is a split extension of an irreducible 1-dimensional Mal'tsev module over a simple 3-dimensional Lie algebra. A Lie module algebra for a Lie algebra L is an algebra and L-module A such that L acts on A by derivations. The depth Lie algebra of a Lie algebra L with Lie module algebra A acts on a corresponding depth Lie module algebra . This determines a depth functor from the category of Lie module algebra pairs to itself. Remarkably, this functor preserves central simplicity. It follows that the Lie algebras corresponding to faithful central simple Lie module algebra pairs (A,L) with A commutative are simple. Upon iteration at such (A,L), the Lie algebras are simple for all i ∈ ω. In particular, the (i ∈ ω) corresponding to central simple Jordan Lie algops (A,L) are simple Lie algebras. On Lie group manifolds, we consider right-invariant magnetic geodesic flows associated with 2-cocycles of the corresponding Lie algebras. We investigate the algebra of the integrals of motion of magnetic geodesic flows and also formulate a necessary and sufficient condition for their integrability in quadratures, giving the canonical forms of 2-cocycles for all four-dimensional Lie algebras and selecting integrable cases. __________ Translated from Teoreticheskaya i Matematicheskaya Fizika, Vol. 156, No. 2, pp. 189–206, August, 2008.  相似文献

We say that a Lie algebra g is quasi-state rigid if every Ad-invariant continuous Lie quasi-state on it is the directional derivative of a homogeneous quasimorphism. Extending work of Entov and Polterovich, we show that every reductive Lie algebra, as well as the algebras C n ? u(n), n ≥ 1, are rigid. On the other hand, a Lie algebra which surjects onto the three-dimensional Heisenberg algebra is not rigid. For Lie algebras of dimension ≤ 3 and for solvable Lie algebras which split over a codimension one abelian ideal, we show that this is the only obstruction to rigidity.  相似文献

The question of the existence of non-trivial ideals of Lie algebras of compact operators is considered from different points of view. One of the approaches is based on the concept of a tractable Lie algebra, which can be of interest independently of the main theme of the paper. Among other results it is shown that an infinite-dimensional closed Lie or Jordan algebra of compact operators cannot be simple. Several partial answers to Wojtyński’s problem on the topological simplicity of Lie algebras of compact quasinilpotent operators are also given.

Let L be a non-abelian restricted Lie algebra over a field of characteristic p > 0 and let u(L) denote its restricted enveloping algebra. In Siciliano (Publ Math (Debr) 68:503–513, 2006) it was proved that if u(L) is Lie solvable then the Lie derived length of u(L) is at least ⌈log2(p + 1)⌉. In the present paper we characterize the restricted enveloping algebras whose Lie derived length coincides with this lower bound.  相似文献

Triangulated categories and Kac-Moody algebras   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
By using the Ringel-Hall algebra approach, we find a Lie algebra arising in each triangulated category with T 2=1, where T is the translation functor. In particular, the generic form of the Lie algebras determined by the root categories, the 2-period orbit categories of the derived categories of finite dimensional hereditary associative algebras, gives a realization of all symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebras. Lie?s Third Theorem, asserting that each finite-dimensional Lie algebra is the Lie algebra of a Lie group, fails in infinite dimensions. The modern account on this phenomenon is the integration problem for central extensions of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras, which in turn is phrased in terms of an integration procedure for Lie algebra cocycles. This paper remedies the obstructions for integrating cocycles and central extensions from Lie algebras to Lie groups by generalising the integrating objects. Those objects obey the maximal coherence that one can expect. Moreover, we show that they are the universal ones for the integration problem. The main application of this result is that a Mackey-complete locally exponential Lie algebra (e.g., a Banach–Lie algebra) integrates to a Lie 2-group in the sense that there is a natural Lie functor from certain Lie 2-groups to Lie algebras, sending the integrating Lie 2-group to an isomorphic Lie algebra.  相似文献

A host algebra of a topological group G is a C *-algebra whose representations are in one-to-one correspondence with certain continuous unitary representations of G. In this paper we present an approach to host algebras for infinite dimensional Lie groups which is based on complex involutive semigroups. Any locally bounded absolute value α on such a semigroup S leads in a natural way to a C *-algebra C *(S,α), and we describe a setting which permits us to conclude that this C *-algebra is a host algebra for a Lie group G. We further explain how to attach to any such host algebra an invariant weak-*-closed convex set in the dual of the Lie algebra of G enjoying certain nice convex geometric properties. If G is the additive group of a locally convex space, we describe all host algebras arising this way. The general non-commutative case is left for the future. To K.H. In this paper, we study Whittaker modules for graded Lie algebras over ℂ. We define Whittaker modules for a class of graded Lie algebras and obtain a bijective correspondence between the set of isomorphism classes of Whittaker modules and the set of ideals of a polynomial ring, parallel to a result from the classical setting and the case of the Virasoro algebra. As a consequence of this, we obtain a classification of simple Whittaker modules for such algebras. Also, we discuss some concrete algebras as examples.  相似文献
