The reactions of the singly deprotonated di-2-pyridylmethanediol ligand (dpmdH(-)) with copper(II) and bismuth(III) have been investigated. A new dinuclear bismuth(III) complex Bi(2)(dpmdH)(2)(O(2)CCF(3))(4)(THF)(2), 1, has been obtained by the reaction of BiPh(3) with di-2-pyridyl ketone in the presence of HO(2)CCF(3) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The reaction of Cu(OCH(3))(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone, H(2)O, and acetic acid in a 1:2:2:2 ratio yielded a mononuclear complex Cu[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(HO(2)CCH(3))(2), 2, while the reaction of Cu(OAC)(2)(H(2)O) with di-2-pyridyl ketone and acetic acid in a 2:1:1 ratio yielded a tetranuclear complex Cu(4)[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(O(2)CCH(3))(6)(H(2)O)(2), 3. The structures of these complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Three different bonding modes of the dpmdH(-) ligand were observed in compounds 1-3. In 2, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a tridentate chelate to the copper center and forms a hydrogen bond between the OH group and the noncoordinating HO(2)CCH(3) molecule. In 1 and 3, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a bridging ligand to two metal centers through the oxygen atom. The two pyridyl groups of the dpmdH(-) ligand are bound to one bismuth(III) center in 1, while in 3 they are bound two copper(II) centers, respectively. Compound 3 has an unusual one dimensional hydrogen bonded extended structure. The intramolecular magnetic interaction in 3 has been found to be dominated by ferromagnetism. The hydrothermal reaction of MoO(3) with BaH(3)IO(6) at 180 degrees C for 3 days results in the formation of Ba[(MoO(2))(6)(IO(4))(2)O(4)] x H(2)O (1). Under similar conditions, the reaction of Ba(OH)(2) x 8H(2)O with MoO(3) and Ba(IO(4))(2) x 6H(2)O yields Ba(3)[(MoO(2))(2)(IO(6))(2)] x 2H(2)O (2). The structure of 1, determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, consists of corner- and edge-sharing distorted MoO(6) octahedra that create two-dimensional slabs. Contained within this molybdenum oxide framework are approximately C(2v) tetraoxoiodate(V) anions, IO(4)(3-), that are involved in bonding with five Mo(VI) centers. The two equatorial oxygen atoms of the IO(4)(3-) anion chelate a single Mo(VI) center, whereas the axial atoms are mu(3)-oxo groups and complete the octahedra of four MoO(6) units. The coordination of the tetraoxoiodate(V) anion to these five highly electropositive centers is probably responsible for stabilizing the substantial anionic charge of this anion. The Ba(2+) cations separate the layers from one another and form long ionic contacts with neighboring oxygen atoms and a water molecule. Compound 2 also contains distorted MoO(6) octahedra. However, these solely edge-share with octahedral hexaoxoiodate(VII), IO(6)(5-), anions to form zigzagging one-dimensional, (1)(infinity)[(MoO(2))(IO(6))](3-), chains that are polar. These chains are separated from one another by Ba(2+) cations that are coordinated by additional water molecules. Bond valence sums for the iodine atoms in 1 and 2 are 5.01 and 7.03, respectively. The reactions of the molecular transition metal iodates A[CrO(3)(IO(3))] (A = K, Rb, Cs) with UO(3) under mild hydrothermal conditions provide access to four new, one-dimensional, uranyl chromatoiodates, Rb[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(H(2)O)] (1) and A(2)[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(2)] (A = K (2), Rb (3), Cs (4)). Under basic conditions, MoO(3), UO(3), and KIO(4) can be reacted to form K(2)[UO(2)(MoO(4))(IO(3))(2)] (5), which is isostructural with 2 and 3. The structure of 1 consists of one-dimensional[UO(2)(CrO(4))(IO(3))(H(2)O)](-) ribbons that contain uranyl moieties bound by bridging chromate and iodate anions as well as a terminal water molecule to create [UO(7)] pentagonal bipyramidal environments around the U(VI) centers. These ribbons are separated from one another by Rb(+) cations. When the iodate content is increased in the hydrothermal reactions, the terminal water molecule is replaced by a monodentate iodate anion to yield 2-4. These ribbons can be further modified by replacing tetrahedral chromate anions with MoO(4)(2)(-) anions to yield isostructural, one-dimensional [UO(2)(MoO(4))(IO(3))(2)](2)(-) ribbons. The title compound with heteratomic anionic chains [Tl(4)Sb(6)(12)(-)] has been discovered in the K-Tl-Sb system. The phase is obtained from a range of compositions near K(3)TlSb(1.5) following reaction first at 750-850 degrees C and then at 550 degrees C for one week or more. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system in space group C2/c, Z = 8, a = 9.951(1) A, b = 17.137(3) A, c = 19.640(6) A, and beta = 104.26(3) degrees. Swing-like (Tl(4)Sb(6))(12)(-) units consisting of alternating Sb and Tl atoms in four- and eight-membered rings are linked through Tl-Tl bonds to form infinite one-dimensional chains along a. EHTB calculations and resistivity measurements show that the compound is a semiconductor.  相似文献

Hydrothermal reaction of Cu(NO(3))(2).3H(2)O, Cd(OH)(2) or Zn(OH)(2) with benzene-1,2,3-tricarboxylic acid (H(3)btb, hemimellitic acid) produced the 2D coordination polymer (MOF) [Cu(2)(mu(5)-btb)(mu-OH)(mu-H(2)O)] () and the 2D hydrogen-bonded complexes [Cd(H(2)btb)(2)(H(2)O)(4)].2H(2)O () and [Zn(H(2)O)(6)](H(2)btb)(2).4H(2)O () which are characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, X-ray powder diffraction and thermoanalysis. Magnetic susceptibility measurements between 1.9-300 K for revealed three magnetic active exchange pathways that link the copper(ii) ions through a long mu-aqua bridge, an anti-syn carboxylate bridge [j(2) = 0.161(1) cm(-1)], and through a mixed mu-hydroxo + syn-syn carboxylate bridge [J = 83(1) cm(-1)]. At temperatures higher than 30 K the system behaves as isolated Cu(2) units with strong ferromagnetic Cu-Cu coupling through the mu-hydroxo and syn-syn carboxylate bridge. The strong ferromagnetic coupling is explained with Hoffmann's approach by means of the concept of counter-complementarity introduced by Nishida et al.[Chem. Lett., 1983, 1815-1818].  相似文献

The transition metal, alkali metal, and main group uranyl selenites, Ag(2)(UO(2))(SeO(3))(2) (1), K[(UO(2))(HSeO(3))(SeO(3))] (2), Rb[(UO(2))(HSeO(3))(SeO(3))] (3), Cs[(UO(2))(HSeO(3))(SeO(3))] (4), Tl[(UO(2))(HSeO(3))(SeO(3))] (5), and Pb(UO(2))(SeO(3))(2) (6), have been prepared from the hydrothermal reactions of AgNO(3), KCl, RbCl, CsCl, TlCl, or Pb(NO(3))(2) with UO(3) and SeO(2) at 180 degrees C for 3 d. The structures of 1-5 contain similar [(UO(2))(SeO(3))(2)](2-) sheets constructed from pentagonal bipyramidal UO(7) units that are joined by bridging SeO(3)(2-) anions. In 1, the selenite oxo ligands that are not utilized within the layers coordinate the Ag(+) cations to create a three-dimensional network structure. In 2-5, half of the selenite ligands are monoprotonated to yield a layer composition of [(UO(2))(HSeO(3))(SeO(3))](1-), and coordination of the K(+), Rb(+), Cs(+), and Tl(+) cations occurs through long ionic contacts. The structure of 6 contains a uranyl selenite layered substructure that differs substantially from those in 1-5 because the selenite anions adopt both bridging and chelating binding modes to the uranyl centers. Furthermore, the Pb(2+) cations form strong covalent bonds with these anions creating a three-dimensional framework. These cations occur as distorted square pyramidal PbO(5) units with stereochemically active lone pairs of electrons. These polyhedra align along the c-axis to create a polar structure. Second-harmonic generation (SHG) measurements revealed a response of 5x alpha-quartz for 6. The diffuse reflectance spectrum of 6 shows optical transitions at 330 and 440 nm. The trailing off of the 440 nm transition to longer wavelengths is responsible for the orange coloration of 6.  相似文献

Reaction of aqueous AgNO(3) with aqueous M(3)[Cr(ox)(3)] in >or=3:1 molar ratio causes the rapid growth of large, cherry-black, light-stable crystals which are not Ag(3)[Cr(ox)(3)], but [M(0.5)(H(2)O)(3)]@[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)] (ox(2)(-) = oxalate, C(2)O(4)(2)(-); M = Na, K, Cs, Ag, or mixtures of Ag and a group 1 element). The structure of these crystals contains an invariant channeled framework, with composition [[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](-)(0.5)]( infinity ), constructed with [Cr(ox)(3)] coordination units linked by Ag atoms through centrosymmetric [Cr-O(2)C(2)O(2)-Ag](2) double bridges. The framework composition [Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](-)(0.5) occurs because one Ag is located on a 2-fold axis. Within the channels there is a well-defined and ordered set of six water molecules, strongly hydrogen bonded to each other and some of the oxalate O atoms. This invariant channel plus water structure accommodates group 1 cations, and/or Ag cations, in different locations and in variable proportions, but always coordinated by channel water and some oxalate O atoms. The general formulation of these crystals is therefore [M(x)Ag(0.5-x)(H(2)O)(3)]@[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)]. Five different crystals with this structure are reported, with compositions 1 Ag(0.5)[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3), 2 Cs(0.19)Ag(0.31)[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3), 3 K(0.28)Ag(0.22)[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3), 4 Cs(0.41)Ag(0.09)[Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3), and 5 Cs(0.43)Ag(0.07) [Ag(2.5)Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3). All crystallize in space group C2/c, with a approximately 18.4, b approximately 14.6, c approximately 12.3 A, beta approximately 113 degrees. Pure Ag(3)[Cr(ox)(3)](H(2)O)(3), which has the same crystal structure (1), was obtained from water by treating Li(3)[Cr(ox)(3)] with excess AgNO(3). Complete dehydration of all of these compounds occurs between 30 and 100 degrees C, with loss of diffraction, but rehydration by exposure to H(2)O(g) at ambient temperature leads to recovery of the original diffraction pattern. In single crystals, this reversible dehydration-hydration occurs without visually evident crystal change, but with loss of mechanical strength. We postulate a general mechanism for transport of water molecules along the channels, associated with local partial collapses of the channel framework, with concomitant bending but little breaking of the host Ag-O and Cr-O bonds, which is readily reversed.  相似文献

The new compounds Rb(3)(AlQ(2))(3)(GeQ(2))(7) [Q = S (1), Se (2)] feature the 3D anionic open framework [(AlQ(2))(3)(GeQ(2))(7)](3-) in which aluminum and germanium share tetrahedral coordination sites. Rb ions are located in channels formed by the connection of 8, 10, and 16 (Ge/Al)S(4) tetrahedra. The isostructural sulfur and selenium derivatives crystallize in the space group P2(1)/c. 1: a = 6.7537(3) ?, b = 37.7825(19) ?, c = 6.7515(3) ?, and β = 90.655(4)°. 2: a = 7.0580(5) ?, b = 39.419(2) ?, c = 7.0412(4) ?, β = 90.360(5)°, and Z = 2 at 190(2) K. The band gaps of the congruently melting chalcogenogermanates are 3.1 eV (1) and 2.4 eV (2).  相似文献

Five trinuclear complexes [M(bpca)(2)(M'(hfac)(2))(2)] (where MM'(2) = NiMn(2), CuMn(2), FeMn(2), NiFe(2), and FeFe(2); Hbpca = bis(2-pyridylcarbonyl)amine; and Hhfac = hexafluoroacetylacetone) were synthesized almost quantitatively by the reaction of [M(bpca)(2)] and [M'(hfac)(2)] in 1:2 molar ratio, and their structures and magnetic properties were investigated. Three complexes, with M' = Mn, crystallize in the same space group, Pna2(1), whereas two complexes, with M' = Fe, crystallize in P4(1), and complexes within each set are isostructural to one another. In all complexes, [M(bpca)(2)] acts as a bis-bidentate bridging ligand to form a linear trinuclear complex in which three metal ions are arranged in the manner M'-M-M'. The central metal ion is in a strong ligand field created by the N(6) donor set, and hence the Fe(II) in the [Fe(bpca)(2)] moiety is in a low-spin state. The terminal metal ions (M') are surrounded by O(6) donor sets with a moderate ligand field, which leads to the high-spin configuration of Fe(II). Three metal ions in all complexes are almost collinear, and metal-metal distances are ca. 5.5 A. The magnetic behavior of NiMn(2) and NiFe(2) shows a weak ferromagnetic interaction between the central Ni(II) ion and the terminal Mn(II) or Fe(II) ions. In these complexes, sigma-spin orbitals of the central Ni(II) ion and those of terminal metal ions have different symmetry about a 2-fold rotation axis through the Ni-N(amide)-M'(terminal) atoms, and this results in orthogonality between the neighboring sigma-spin orbitals and thus ferromagnetic interactions.  相似文献

Pt(2)(mu-Se)(2)(PPh(3))(4) reacts with PtCl(2)(cod) to give (Pt(2)(mu(3)-Se)(2)(PPh(3))(4)[Pt(cod)])(2+) and an unexpected cod-rich product that arises from metal scrambling, viz. (Pt(mu(3)-Se)(2)(PPh(3))(2)[Pt(cod)](2))(2+). The formation of these species was detected and followed by electrospray mass spectrometry (ESMS) and subsequently verified by batch synthesis and crystallographic characterization. Other metal-scrambled aggregate products were successfully detected.  相似文献

Five new rare-earth metal polyselenophosphates have been synthesized by the reactive flux method and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction: K(2)La(P(2)Se(6))(1/2)(PSe(4)) (I), K(3)La(PSe(4))(2) (II), K(4)La(0.67)(PSe(4))(2) (III), K(9-x)()La(1+)(x/3)(PSe(4))(4) (x = 0.5) (IV), and KEuPSe(4) (V). Compound I crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n with a = 9.4269(1) A, b = 7.2054(1) A, c = 21.0276(5) A, beta = 97.484(1) degrees, and Z = 4. Compound II crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 9.5782(2) A, b = 17.6623(4) A, c = 9.9869(3) A, beta = 90.120(1) degrees, and Z = 4. Compound III crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Ibam with a = 19.0962(2) A, b = 9.1408(1) A, c = 10.2588(2) A, and Z = 4. Compound IV crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Ccca with a = 18.2133(1) A, b = 38.0914(4) A, c = 10.2665(1) A, and Z = 8. Compound V crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with a = 17.5156(11) A, b = 7.0126(5) A, c = 6.9015(4) A, and Z = 4. Optical band gap measurements show that compound V has an optical band gap of 1.88 eV. Solid-state Raman spectroscopy of compounds II-V shows the four normal vibrations expected for the (PSe(4))(3-) unit. The observation of compounds I-V in several reactions has allowed the creation of a quasi-quaternary phase diagram for potassium rare-earth-metal polyselenophosphates. This phase diagram can qualitatively be separated into three regions on the basis of the oxidation state of phosphorus in the crystalline products observed and takes the next step in designing solid-state compounds.  相似文献

A series of novel borates, MM'4(BO3)3 (M = Li, M' = Sr; M = Na, M' = Sr, Ba), have been successfully synthesized by standard solid-state reaction. The crystal structures have been determined from powder X-ray diffraction data. They crystallize in the cubic space group Iad with large lattice parameters: a = 14.95066(5) A for LiSr4(BO3)3, a = 15.14629(6) A for NaSr4(BO3)3, and a = 15.80719(8) A for NaBa4(BO3)3. The structure was built up from 64 small cubic grids, in which the M' atoms took up the corner angle and the BO3 triangles or MO6 cubic octahedra filled in the interspaces. The isolated [BO3]3- anionic groups are perpendicular to each other, distributed along three 100 directions. The anisotropic polarizations were counteracting, forming an isotropic crystal. Sr and Ba atoms were found to be completely soluble in the solid solution NaSr(4-)xBax(BO3)3 (0 < or = x < or = 4). The photoluminescence of samples doped with the ions Eu2+ and Eu3+ was studied, and effective yellow and red emission was detected, respectively. The results are consistent with the crystallographic study. The DTA and TGA curves of them show that they are chemically stable and congruent melting compounds.  相似文献

The reaction of plutonium(IV) in aqueous nitric acid with tetra-n-butylammonium nitrate leads to the immediate precipitation of [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[Pu(NO(3))(6)] (1) in high yield. The analogous reaction in HCl with tetra-n-butylammonium chloride gives [N(n-Bu)(4)](2)[PuCl(6)] (2). Both 1 and 2 are soluble in a range of organic solvents and have been characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectroscopy, and solid- and solution-phase vis-near-IR spectroscopy. 1 and 2 provide facile synthetic entry routes to study plutonium(IV) ligand complexation reactions in organic solvent media under both air/moisture-stable and -sensitive conditions.  相似文献

Compound VII crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with a = 16.782(2) A, b = 6.6141(6) A, c = 6.5142(6) A, and Z = 4. The sulfur compounds are in most cases isostructural to their selenium counterparts. These structures have been characterized by Raman and IR spectroscopy and UV-vis diffuse reflectance optical band gap analysis.  相似文献

A series of novel noncentrosymmetric borates, MM'4(BO3)3 (M = Na, M' = Ca; M = K, M' = Ca, Sr), have been successfully synthesized via a standard solid-state reaction. The crystal structures have been determined by the SDPD (structure determination from powder diffraction) method. They crystallize in the noncentrosymmetric space group Ama2 with the following lattice parameters: a = 10.68004(11) A, b = 11.28574(11) A, c = 6.48521(6) A for NaCa4(BO3)3; a = 10.63455(10) A, b = 11.51705(11) A, c = 6.51942(6) A for KCa4(BO3)3; and a = 11.03843(8) A, b = 11.98974(9) A, c = 6.88446(5) A for KSr4(BO3)3. The fundamental building units are isolated BO3 anionic groups. Their second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficients were one-half (NaCa4(BO3)3), one-third (KCa4(BO3)3), and two-thirds (KSr4(BO3)3) as large as that of KH2PO4 (KDP). The infrared and UV-vis spectra of the three compounds are discussed. Moreover, a comparison of the structures of these novel compounds and three other novel cubic compounds with the same formula, MM'4(BO3)3 (M = Li, M' = Sr; M = Na, M' = Sr, Ba), is presented here.  相似文献

From the reaction of [Mn(III)(3)(micro-O)(micro-CH(3)CO(2))(6)]CH(3)CO(2) (manganese(III) acetate) and 2-anilino-4,6-di-tert-butylphenol (1:3) in methanol under anaerobic conditions, dark brown-black crystals of [Mn(III)(L(ISQ))(2)(L(AP))] (1) were obtained in approximately 30% yield. (L(AP))(-) represents the closed-shell o-aminophenolate(-) form of the above ligand, and (L(ISQ))(-) is the monoanionic pi radical form o-iminobenzosemiquinonate(-) (S(rad) = 1/2). Complex 1 can be deprotonated at the (L(AP))(-) ligand and one-electron-oxidized by air, yielding crystals of [Mn(IV)(L(ISQ))(2)(L(AP)-H)] (2), where (L(AP)-H)(2-) represents the closed-shell, dianionic o-amidophenolate(2-) form of the above ligand. The structures of 1 and 2 have been determined by X-ray crystallography at 100 K. The protonation and oxidation levels of the ligands and of the metal ions have been unequivocally established: both complexes contain two pi radical ligands, 1 contains a Mn(III) ion, and 2 contains a Mn(IV) ion. The spins of the radicals (S(rad) = 1/2) couple strongly antiferromagnetically with the d(4) and d(3) configuration of the Mn ions in 1 and 2, respectively, yielding the observed ground states of S = 1 for 1 and S = (1)/(2) for 2. This has been established by temperature-dependent susceptibility measurements (2-300 K) and S- and X-band EPR spectroscopy.  相似文献

The solvothermal reaction of (N(C(4)H(9))(4))(2)[Re(2)Cl(8)] with trifluoroacetic acid and acetic anhydride leads to the new rhenium trifluoroacetate dimer N(C(4)H(9))(4)[Re(2)(OOCCF(3))Cl(6)] (1) and to the rhenium carbonyl dimer Re(2)(mu(2)-Cl)(2)(CO)(8) as the rhenium-reduced byproduct. The reaction of the precursor complex, N(C(4)H(9))(4)[Re(2)(OOCCF(3))Cl(6)] (1), with the organometallic carboxylic acid (CO)(6)Co(2)HCCCOOH leads to the cluster of clusters compound Re(2)(OOCCCHCo(2)(CO)(6))(4)Cl(2) (2), which has the dimer structure of Re(2)(OOCR)(4)Cl(2). Cyclic voltammetric measurements show that Re(2)(OOCCCHCo(2)(CO)(6))(4)Cl(2) (2) has one reduction centered on the dirhenium core and a reduction centered on the cobalt atoms. DFT calculations have been used to rationalize the observed displacements of the voltammetric signals in Re(2)(OOCCCHCo(2)(CO)(6))(4)Cl(2) (2) compared to the parent ligand (CO)(6)Co(2)HCCCOOH and rhenium pivalate.  相似文献

The new uranyl molybdate Ag(6)[(UO(2))(3)O(MoO(4))(5)] (1) with an unprecedented uranyl molybdate sheet has been synthesized at 650 degrees C. The structure (monoclinic, C2/c, a = 16.4508(14) A, b = 11.3236(14) A, c = 12.4718(13) A, beta = 100.014(4)(o), V = 2337.4(4) A(3), Z = 4) contains [(UO(2))(3)O(MoO(4))(5)] sheets composed of triuranyl [(UO(2))(3)O] clusters that are connected by MoO(4) tetrahedra. The topology of the uranyl molybdate sheet in 1 represents a major departure from sheets observed in other uranyl compounds. Of the approximately 120 known inorganic uranyl compounds containing sheets of polyhedra, 1 is the only structure that contains trimers of uranyl pentagonal bipyramids that are connected only by the sharing of vertexes with other polyhedra. The sheets are parallel to (001) and are linked by Ag cations.  相似文献
