Optical absorption measurements based on interferometry are ultimately limited by loss and noise. When these effects are taken into account, the gain reaches a maximum at a certain number of feedback cycles, which characterizes the device. An analytical model for the coefficient of collection for an SEM detector field is proposed. The Dirichlet problem for calculating the detector’s electrostatic field is solved. The trajectories of secondary electrons are calculated numerically. Collection efficiency diagrams for different ratios of work length to pole piece diameter are constructed. The results could be useful for linear measurements of nanoscale structures and modeling the reference signal in electron beam lithography.  相似文献

The possibility of the implementation of a single-photon detector in the microwave range has been discussed. It has been shown that, for these purposes, it is possible to use an unshunted Josephson junction, which is switched from the superconducting state into a finite-voltage state at the presence of an external signal. The sensitivity of this detector is determined by the distribution of switchings in the absence of an external signal. It has been demonstrated that there is a Josephson junction with a noise temperature below 60 mK at a nominal external temperature of 10 mK. A specific detector intended for the measurement of external microwave signals has been proposed, designed, and fabricated. The first experimental results have been presented.  相似文献

Improvement in the performance of a Si: P integrating infrared (IR) detector are described. The detector has the structure of a p-i-n diode but the mode of IR detection involves photoemission of charge stored in localized impurity states in the i-region at low temperatures. After IR exposure, the remaining occupied localized states are field ionized. In order to measure the remaining charge, the transient field ionization current is digitized and integrated. Increased quantum efficiency is obtained by increasing the photosensitive i-region thickness and impurity concentration. With increasing impurity concentration, the quantum efficiency of a 110 μm thick detector can be increased from 0.5% to about 70% in the neighborhood of 27 μm while the maximum charge storage time (IR integration time) decreased from more than 12 h to about l s.  相似文献

This work is devoted to investigating new superconducting electronics elements for cryogenic phase locking loop systems. It is shown that a tunnel junction superconductor-insulator-superconductor can be successfully applied as a cryogenic phase detector for a frequency stabilization system with ultrawide bandwidth.  相似文献

A pyroelectric detector has been built and characterised for operation within W-band. The various characteristics reported include detectivity, responsivity, NEP, polarisation sensitivity, dynamic range, linearity, and reflectivity (vswr). The pyroelectric detector performs well at these wavelengths and as the detector is inexpensive to build, and is robust, it ought to find many opportunities for use within millimetre-wave laboratories.  相似文献
