Based on Bernstein's Theorem, Kalandia's Lemma describes the error estimate and the smoothness of the remainder under the second part of Hoelder norm when a HSlder function is approximated by its best polynomial approximation. In this paper, Kalandia's Lemma is generalized to the cases that the best polynomial is replaced by one of its four kinds of Chebyshev polynomial expansions, the error estimates of the remainder are given out under Hoeder norm or the weighted HSlder norms.  相似文献

The Lanczos method and its variants can be used to solve efficiently the rational interpolation problem. In this paper we present a suitable fast modification of a general look-ahead version of the Lanczos process in order to deal with polynomials expressed in the Chebyshev orthogonal basis. The proposed approach is particularly suited for approximating analytic functions by means of rational interpolation at certain nodes located on the boundary of an elliptical region of the complex plane. In fact, in this case it overcomes some of the numerical difficulties which limited the applicability of the look-ahead Lanczos process for determining the coefficients both of the numerators and of the denominators with respect to the standard power basis. We present a linear rational pseudospectral (collocation) method with preassigned poles for solving boundary value problems. It consists in attaching poles to the trial polynomial so as to make it a rational interpolant. Its convergence is proved by transforming the problem into an associated boundary value problem. Numerical examples demonstrate that the rational pseudospectral method is often more efficient than the polynomial method.  相似文献

Orthogonal polynomials satisfy a recurrence relation of order two defined by two sequences of coefficients. If we modify one of these recurrence coefficients at a certain order, we obtain the so-called perturbed orthogonal sequence. In this work, we analyse perturbed Chebyshev polynomials of second kind and we deal with the problem of finding the connection coefficients that allow us to write the perturbed sequence in terms of the original one and in terms of the canonical basis. From the connection coefficients obtained, we derive some results about zeros at the origin. The analysis is valid for arbitrary order of perturbation.  相似文献

Recently Brutman and Passow considered Newman-type rational interpolation to |x| induced by arbitrary sets of symmetric nodes in [-1,1] and gave the general estimation of the approximation error.By their methods,one could establish the exact order of approximation for some special nodes.In the present note we consider the sets of interpolation nodes obtained by adjusting the Chebyshev roots of the second kind on the interval [0,1] and then extending this set to [-1,1] in a symmetric way.We show that in this case the exact order of approximation is O( 1 n 2 ).  相似文献

This paper presents a new approximate method of Abel differential equation. By using the shifted Chebyshev expansion of the unknown function, Abel differential equation is approximately transformed to a system of nonlinear equations for the unknown coefficients. A desired solution can be determined by solving the resulting nonlinear system. This method gives a simple and closed form of approximate solution of Abel differential equation. The solution is calculated in the form of a series with easily computable components. The numerical results show the effectiveness of the method for this type of equation. Comparing the methodology with some known techniques shows that the present approach is relatively easy and highly accurate.  相似文献

A pseudospectral method for generating optimal trajectories of linear and nonlinear constrained dynamic systems is proposed. The method consists of representing the solution of the optimal control problem by an mth degree interpolating polynomial, using Chebyshev nodes, and then discretizing the problem using a cell-averaging technique. The optimal control problem is thereby transformed into an algebraic nonlinear programming problem. Due to its dynamic nature, the proposed method avoids many of the numerical difficulties typically encountered in solving standard optimal control problems. Furthermore, for discontinuous optimal control problems, we develop and implement a Chebyshev smoothing procedure which extracts the piecewise smooth solution from the oscillatory solution near the points of discontinuities. Numerical examples are provided, which confirm the convergence of the proposed method. Moreover, a comparison is made with optimal solutions obtained by closed-form analysis and/or other numerical methods in the literature.  相似文献

General formulas for the mth integral and derivative of a Chebyshev polynomial of the first or second kind are presented. The result is expressed as a finite series of the same kind of Chebyshev polynomials. These formulas permit to accelerate the determination of such integrals or derivatives.
