It is known that a vector bundle E on a smooth projective curve Y defined over an algebraically closed field is semistable if and only if there is a vector bundle F on Y such that both H0(X,EF) and H1(X,EF) vanishes. We extend this criterion for semistability to vector bundles on curves defined over perfect fields. Let X be a geometrically irreducible smooth projective curve defined over a perfect field k, and let E be a vector bundle on X. We prove that E is semistable if and only if there is a vector bundle F on X such that Hi(X,EF)=0 for all i. We also give an explicit bound for the rank of F.  相似文献

Let Y be a projective variety over a field k (of arbitrary characteristic). Assume that the normalization X of Y is such that is normal, being the algebraic closure of k. We define a notion of strong semistability for vector bundles on Y. We show that a vector bundle on Y is strongly semistable if and only if its pull back to X is strongly semistable and hence it is a tensor category. In case , we show that strongly semistable vector bundles on Y form a neutral Tannakian category. We define the holonomy group scheme of Y to be the Tannakian group scheme for this category. For a strongly semistable principal G‐bundle , we construct a holonomy group scheme. We show that if Y is an integral complex nodal curve, then the holonomy group of a strongly semistable vector bundle on Y is the Zariski closure of the (topological) fundamental group of Y.  相似文献

In this paper, two topics on semistable probability measures on p-adic vector spaces are studied. One is the existence of absolute moments of operator-semistable probability measures and another is an answer to the question whether one can get semistability of a probability measure from that of all its projections. All results obtained here are extensions of known results for real vector spaces to p-adic vector spaces.  相似文献

This result is new even in the one-dimensional situation of semistable laws on the real line, where we extend our result to laws in the domain of normal attraction of a semistable law. Furthermore, we prove that this kind of law of the iterated logarithm also holds for certain semistable laws on homogeneous groups, especially on Heisenberg groups. Assume the laws of to be weakly convergent to a probability measure onG, n Aut(G), and (k n)n strictly increasing in. In this paper we want to characterize the possible limit laws. We obtain that every limit law is continuously embeddable and we prove a kind of functional limit theorem. Further, we study the connections between two different concepts of stability (resp. semistability) and limit laws. We prove that a generic canonically or bicanonically embedded smooth curve has semistable mth Hilbert points for all m≥2. We also prove that a generic bicanonically embedded smooth curve has stable mth Hilbert points for all m≥3. In the canonical case, this is accomplished by proving finite Hilbert semistability of special singular curves with $\mathbb{G}_{m}$ -action, namely the canonically embedded balanced ribbon and the canonically embedded balanced double A 2k+1-curve. In the bicanonical case, we prove finite Hilbert stability of special hyperelliptic curves, namely Wiman curves. Finally, we give examples of canonically embedded smooth curves whose mth Hilbert points are non-semistable for low values of m, but become semistable past a definite threshold.  相似文献

We prove that for N=6 and N=10, there do not exist any non-zero semistable abelian varieties over with good reduction outside primes dividing N. Our results are contingent on the GRH discriminant bounds of Odlyzko. Combined with recent results of Brumer-Kramer and of Schoof, this result is best possible: if N is squarefree, there exists a non-zero semistable abelian variety over with good reduction outside primes dividing N precisely when N{1,2,3,5,6,7,10,13}.Mathematics Subject Classification (2000): 14K15  相似文献

We study the branch of semistable and unstable solutions (i.e., those whose Morse index is at most 1) of the Dirichlet boundary value problem ? Δu = λf(x)/(1 ? u)2 on a bounded domain Ω ? ?N, which models—among other things—a simple electrostatic microelectromechanical system (MEMS) device. We extend the results of 11 relating to the minimal branch, by obtaining compactness along unstable branches for 1 ≤ N ≤ 7 on any domain Ω and for a large class of “permittivity profiles” f. We also show the remarkable fact that powerlike profiles f(x) ? |x|α can push back the critical dimension N = 7 of this problem by establishing compactness for the semistable branch on the unit ball, also for N ≥ 8 and as long as As a byproduct, we are able to follow the second branch of the bifurcation diagram and prove the existence of a second solution for λ in a natural range. In all these results, the conditions on the space dimension and on the power of the profile are essentially sharp. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We consider regular positive recurrent diffusion processes on an open interval (l,r) R 1 with inaccessible end points. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given in terms of the scale functions describing the domains of attraction of the nondegenerate limiting probability laws for the extreme-values under power normalization. We obtain the exact convergence rate of the stationary distribution (K) of the embedded Markov chain in GI/M/c/K queue to the stationary distribution of the embedded Markov chain in GI/M/c queue as K. Similar result for the time-stationary distributions of queue size is also included. These generalize Choi and Kim's results of the case c=1 by nontrivial ways. In the paper, we present upper bounds of L p norms of order ( X)-1/2 for all 1 ≤ p ≤ ∞ in the central limit theorem for a standardized random variable (XX)/ √ X, where a random variable X is distributed by the Poisson distribution with parameter λ > 0 or by the standard gamma distribution Γ(α, 0, 1) with parameter α > 0. This paper presents some new results in the theory of Newton-type methods for variational inequalities, and their application to nonlinear programming. A condition of semistability is shown to ensure the quadratic convergence of Newton's method and the superlinear convergence of some quasi-Newton algorithms, provided the sequence defined by the algorithm exists and converges. A partial extension of these results to nonsmooth functions is given. The second part of the paper considers some particular variational inequalities with unknowns (x, ), generalizing optimality systems. Here only the question of superlinear convergence of {x k } is considered. Some necessary or sufficient conditions are given. Applied to some quasi-Newton algorithms they allow us to obtain the superlinear convergence of {x k }. Application of the previous results to nonlinear programming allows us to strengthen the known results, the main point being a characterization of the superlinear convergence of {x k } assuming a weak second-order condition without strict complementarity.  相似文献

This paper focuses on semistability and finite-time semistability for discontinuous dynamical systems. Semistability is the property whereby the solutions of a dynamical system converge to Lyapunov stable equilibrium points determined by the system initial conditions. In this paper, we extend the theory of semistability to discontinuous autonomous dynamical systems. In particular, Lyapunov-based tests for strong and weak semistability as well as finite-time semistability for autonomous differential inclusions are established. Using these results we then develop a framework for designing semistable and finite-time semistable protocols for dynamical networks with switching topologies. Specifically, we present distributed nonlinear static and dynamic output feedback controller architectures for multiagent network consensus and rendezvous with dynamically changing communication topologies.  相似文献

This paper shows that lim n P(T n>x)/P(t n>x)=1 holds uniformly in 0xo(n 1/6), where t n has a t-distribution with n–1 degrees of freedom. In this paper we prove that semistable sheaves with zero Chern classes on homogeneous spaces are trivial and semistable sheaves on abelian varieties with zero Chern classes are filtered by line bundles numerically equivalent to zero. The method consists in reducing modp and then showing that the Frobenius morphism preserves semistability on the above class of varieties.
