In this paper, we study the energy equality and the uniqueness of weak solutions to the MHD equations in the critical space L∞(0, T; L^n(Ω). We prove that if the velocity u belongs to the critical space L∞(0, T; L^n(Ω), the energy equality holds. On the basis of the energy equality, we further prove that the weak solution to the MHD equations is unique.  相似文献

The Gelfand widths of the unit ball of H2(ν) (the weighted Hardy space) with respect to the metric of the space L(Tr) are considered (here Tr is the circle of radius r centered at the origin), as well as the Bernstein widths of the unit ball of H with respect to the metric of the space L2(Tr, μ). Asymptotic formulas for the widths in question are established for arbitrary measures ν, μ. Bibliography: 5 titles. Translated fromZapiski Nauchnykh Seminarov POMI, Vol. 232, 1996, pp. 134–140. In this paper, the expression of the norm of a self-adjoint integral operator T : L^2(0, ∞) → L^2 (0, ∞) is obtained. As applications, a new bilinear integral inequality with a best constant factor is established and some particular cases are considered.  相似文献

Let A be a closed subalgebra of the complex Banach algebra C(S), containing the constant functions. We assume that one has found a probability measureμ on S and a function F from L(μ) such that: 1)|F|= 1 a.e. relative to μ; 2) F μ ε A1; 3) F is a limit point of the unit ball of the algebra A in the topology δ(L(μ), L1(μ)). One proves in the paper that under these conditions the space A** contains a complement space, isometric to H. The measure μ and the function F, satisfying the conditions l)-3) indeed exist if the maximal ideal space of the algebra A contains a non-one-point part (and it is very likely that such aμ. and F exist whenever the algebra A is not self-adjoint). Thus, the above-formulated result allows us to extend A. Pelczynski's theorem (Ref, Zh. Mat., 1975, 1B894) regarding the space H to a very broad class of uniform algebras. Marcinkiewicz Integrals with Non-Doubling Measures   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Let μ be a positive Radon measure on which may be non doubling. The only condition that μ must satisfy is μ(B(x, r)) ≤ Cr n for all , r > 0 and some fixed constants C > 0 and n ∈ (0, d]. In this paper, we introduce the Marcinkiewicz integral related to a such measure with kernel satisfying some H?rmander-type condition, and assume that it is bounded on L 2(μ). We then establish its boundedness, respectively, from the Lebesgue space L 1(μ) to the weak Lebesgue space L 1,∞(μ), from the Hardy space H 1(μ) to L 1(μ) and from the Lebesgue space L (μ) to the space RBLO(μ). As a corollary, we obtain the boundedness of the Marcinkiewicz integral in the Lebesgue space L p (μ) with p ∈ (1,∞). Moreover, we establish the boundedness of the commutator generated by the RBMO(μ) function and the Marcinkiewicz integral with kernel satisfying certain slightly stronger H?rmander-type condition, respectively, from L p (μ) with p ∈ (1,∞) to itself, from the space L log L(μ) to L 1,∞(μ) and from H 1(μ) to L 1,∞(μ). Some of the results are also new even for the classical Marcinkiewicz integral. LetX be a Banach space and letA be the infinitesimal generator of a differentiable semigroup {T(t) |t ≥ 0}, i.e. aC 0-semigroup such thattT(t)x is differentiable on (0, ∞) for everyx εX. LetB be a bounded linear operator onX and let {S(t) |t ≥ 0} be the semigroup generated byA +B. Renardy recently gave an example which shows that {S(t) |t ≥ 0} need not be differentiable. In this paper we give a condition on the growth of ‖T′(t)‖ ast ↓ 0 which is sufficient to ensure that {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable. Moreover, we use Renardy’s example to study the optimality of our growth condition. Our results can be summarized roughly as follows:
(i)  If lim sup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/log(1/2) = 0 then {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable.
(ii)  If 0<L=lim sup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/log(1/2)<∞ thentS(t ) is differentiable on (L, ∞) in the uniform operator topology, but need not be differentiable near zero
(iii)  For each function α: (0, 1) → (0, ∞) with α(t)/log(1/t) → ∞ ast ↓ 0, Renardy’s example can be adjusted so that limsup t→0+t log‖T′(t)‖/α(t) = 0 andtS(t) is nowhere differentiable on (0, ∞).
We also show that if lim sup t→0+t pT′(t)‖<∞ for a givenp ε [1, ∞), then lim sup t→0+t pS′(t)‖<∞; it was known previously that if limsup t→0+t pT′(t)‖<∞, then {S(t) |t ≥ 0} is differentiable and limsup t→0+t 2p–1S′(t)‖<∞.  相似文献

The two-dimensional classical Hardy space Hp(T×T) on the bidisc are introduced, and it is shown that the maximal operator of the (C,α,β) means of a distribution is bounded from the space Hp(T×T) to Lp(T2) (1/(α+1), 1/(β+1)<p≤∞), and is of weak type (H 1 # (T×T), L1(T2)), where the Hardy space H 1 # (T×T) is defined by the hybrid maximal function. As a consequence we obtain that the (C, α, β) means of a function f∈H 1 # (T×T)⊃LlogL(T 2) convergs a. e. to the function in question. Moreover, we prove that the (C, α, β) means are uniformly bounded on the spaces Hp(T×T) whenever 1/(α+1), 1(β+1)<p<∞. Thus, in case f∈Hp(T×T), the (C, α, β) means convergs to f in Hp(T×T) norm whenever (1/(α+1), 1/(β+1)<p<∞). The same results are proved for the conjugate (C, α, β) means, too.  相似文献

By making full use of the estimates of solutions to nonstationary Stokes equations and the method discussing global stability, we establish the global existence theorem of strong solutions for Navier-Stokes equatios in arbitrary three dimensional domain with uniformlyC 3 boundary, under the assumption that |a| L 2(Θ) + |f| L 1(0,∞;L 2(Θ)) or |∇a| L 2(Θ) + |f| L 2(0,∞;L 2(Θ)) small or viscosityv large. Herea is a given initial velocity andf is the external force. This improves on the previous results. Moreover, the solvability of the case with nonhomogeneous boundary conditions is also discussed. Of concern are semigroups of linear norm one operators on Hilbert space of the form (discrete case)T={T n /n=0,1,2,...} or (continuous case)T={T(t)/t=≥0}. Using ergodic theory and Hilbert-Schmidt operators, the Cesàro limits (asn→∞) of |〈T n f,f〉|2, |〈T (n)f,f〉|2 are computed (withn∈ℤ+ orn∈ℤ+). Specializing the Hilbert space to beL 2(T,μ) (discrete case) orL 2(ℝ,μ) (continuous case) where μ is a Borel probability measure on the circle group or the line, the Cesàro limit of (asn→±∞, with,n∈ℤ orn∈ℝ) is obtained and interpreted. Extensions toT M , and ℝ M are given. Finally, we discuss recent operator theoretic extensions from a Hilbert to a Banach space context. Partially supported by an NSF grant  相似文献

On the Blow-up Criterion of Smooth Solutions to the MHD System in BMO Space   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper we study the blow-up criterion of smooth solutions to the incompressible magnetohydrodynamics system in BMO space. Let (u(x,t),b(x,t)) be smooth solutions in (0, T). It is shown that the solution (u(x, t), b(x, t)) can be extended beyond t = T if (u(x,t), b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO) or the vorticity (rot u(x, t), rot b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO) or the deformation (Def u(x, t), Def b(x, t)) ∈ L^1 (0, T; BMO).  相似文献

In this paper, we present a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of solutions in a Sobolev space Wpk(ℝs) (1≤p≤∞) to a vector refinement equation with a general dilation matrix. The criterion is constructive and can be implemented. Rate of convergence of vector cascade algorithms in a Sobolev space Wpk(ℝs) will be investigated. When the dilation matrix is isotropic, a characterization will be given for the Lp (1≤p≤∞) critical smoothness exponent of a refinable function vector without the assumption of stability on the refinable function vector. As a consequence, we show that if a compactly supported function vector φ∈Lp(ℝs) (φ∈C(ℝs) when p=∞) satisfies a refinement equation with a finitely supported matrix mask, then all the components of φ must belong to a Lipschitz space Lip(ν,Lp(ℝs)) for some ν>0. This paper generalizes the results in R.Q. Jia, K.S. Lau and D.X. Zhou (J. Fourier Anal. Appl. 7 (2001) 143–167) in the univariate setting to the multivariate setting. Exact controllability for the wave equation with variable coefficients   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We consider in this paper the evolution systemy″−Ay=0, whereA = i(aijj) anda ijC 1 (ℝ+;W 1,∞ (Ω)) ∩W 1,∞ (Ω × ℝ+), with initial data given by (y 0,y 1) ∈L 2(Ω) ×H −1 (Ω) and the nonhomogeneous conditiony=v on Γ ×]0,T[. Exact controllability means that there exist a timeT>0 and a controlv such thaty(T, v)=y′(T, v)=0. The main result of this paper is to prove that the above system is exactly controllable whenT is “sufficiently large”. Moreover, we obtain sharper estimates onT.  相似文献

We study the convergence of a finite volume scheme for the linear advection equation with a Lipschitz divergence-free speed in R d . We prove a h 1/2-error estimate in the L (0,t;L 1)-norm for BV data. This result was expected from numerical experiments and is optimal.  相似文献

Let G be a locally compact group with a weight function ω. Recently, we have shown that the Banach space L0 (G,1/ω) can be identified with the strong dual of L1(G, ω)equipped with some locally convex topologies τ. Here we use this duality to introduce an Arens multiplication on (L1(G, ω), τ)**, and prove that the topological center of (L1(G, ω), τ)** is (L1(G, ω); this enables us to conclude that (L1(G, ω), τ) is Arens regular if and only if G is discrete. We also give a characterization for Arens regularity of L0 (G, 1/ω)1. Received: 8 March 2005  相似文献

The main goal of this paper is to extend the approximation theorem of contiuous functions by Haar polynomials (see Theorem A) to infinite matrices (see Theorem C). The extension to the matricial framework will be based on the one hand on the remark that periodic functions which belong toL (T) may be one-to-one identified with Toeplitz matrices fromB(l 2) (see Theorem 0) and on the other hand on some notions given in the paper. We mention for instance:ms—a unital commutative subalgebra ofl ,C(l 2) the matricial analogue of the space of all continuous periodic functionsC(T), the matricial Haar polynomials, etc. In Section 1 we present some results concerning the spacems—a concept important for this generalization, the proof of the main theorem being given in the second section. In this note, the regularity of Poisson equation -△u = f with f lying in logarithmic function space Lp(LogL)a(Ω)(1<p <∞, a ∈ R) is studied. The result of the note generalizes the W2,p estimate of Poisson equation in Lp(Ω).  相似文献

Let T and S be invertible measure preserving transformations of a probability measure space (X, ℬ, μ). We prove that if the group generated by T and S is nilpotent, then exists in L 2-norm for any u, vL (X, ℬ, μ). We also show that for A∈ℬ with μ(A)>0 one has . By the way of contrast, we bring examples showing that if measure preserving transformations T, S generate a solvable group, then (i) the above limits do not have to exist; (ii) the double recurrence property fails, that is, for some A∈ℬ, μ(A)>0, one may have μ(AT -n AS - n A)=0 for all n∈ℕ. Finally, we show that when T and S generate a nilpotent group of class ≤c, in L 2(X) for all u, vL (X) if and only if T×S is ergodic on X×X and the group generated by T -1 S, T -2 S 2,..., T -c S c acts ergodically on X. Let (X, μ) be a measure space. In this paper, using some ideas from Grafakos and Kalton, the authors establish an off-diagonal Marcinkiewicz interpolation theorem for a quasilinear operator T in Lorentz spaces L p,q (X) with p, q ∈ (0,∞], which is a corrected version of Theorem 1.4.19 in [Grafakos, L.: Classical Fourier Analysis, Second Edition, Graduate Texts in Math., No. 249, Springer, New York, 2008] and which, in the case that T is linear or nonnegative sublinear, p ∈ [1,∞) and q ∈ [1,∞), was obtained by Stein and Weiss [Introduction to Fourier Analysis on Euclidean Spaces, Princeton University Press, Princeton, N.J., 1971].  相似文献
