Orthonormal bases of compactly supported wavelet bases correspond to subband coding schemes with exact reconstruction in which the analysis and synthesis filters coincide. We show here that under fairly general conditions, exact reconstruction schemes with synthesis filters different from the analysis filters give rise to two dual Riesz bases of compactly supported wavelets. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for biorthogonality of the corresponding scaling functions, and we present a sufficient conditions for the decay of their Fourier transforms. We study the regularity of these biorthogonal bases. We provide several families of examples, all symmetric (corresponding to “linear phase” filters). In particular we can construct symmetric biorthogonal wavelet bases with arbitraily high preassigned regularity; we also show how to construct symmetric biorthogonal wavelet bases “close” to a (nonsymmetric) orthonormal basis.  相似文献

We show that stochastically continuous, time-homogeneous affine processes on the canonical state space ${\mathbb{R}_{\geq 0}^m \times \mathbb{R}^n}$ are always regular. In the paper of Duffie et?al. (Ann Appl Probab 13(3):984?C1053, 2003) regularity was used as a crucial basic assumption. It was left open whether this regularity condition is automatically satisfied for stochastically continuous affine processes. We now show that the regularity assumption is indeed superfluous, since regularity follows from stochastic continuity and the exponentially affine form of the characteristic function. For the proof we combine classic results on the differentiability of transformation semigroups with the method of the moving frame which has been recently found to be useful in the theory of SPDEs.  相似文献

Construction of biorthogonal wavelets from pseudo-splines   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Pseudo-splines constitute a new class of refinable functions with B-splines, interpolatory refinable functions and refinable functions with orthonormal shifts as special examples. Pseudo-splines were first introduced by Daubechies, Han, Ron and Shen in [Framelets: MRA-based constructions of wavelet frames, Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 14(1) (2003), 1–46] and Selenick in [Smooth wavelet tight frames with zero moments, Appl. Comput. Harmon. Anal. 10(2) (2001) 163–181], and their properties were extensively studied by Dong and Shen in [Pseudo-splines, wavelets and framelets, 2004, preprint]. It was further shown by Dong and Shen in [Linear independence of pseudo-splines, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc., to appear] that the shifts of an arbitrarily given pseudo-spline are linearly independent. This implies the existence of biorthogonal dual refinable functions (of pseudo-splines) with an arbitrarily prescribed regularity. However, except for B-splines, there is no explicit construction of biorthogonal dual refinable functions with any given regularity. This paper focuses on an implementable scheme to derive a dual refinable function with a prescribed regularity. This automatically gives a construction of smooth biorthogonal Riesz wavelets with one of them being a pseudo-spline. As an example, an explicit formula of biorthogonal dual refinable functions of the interpolatory refinable function is given.  相似文献

We establish a one-to-one correspondence between the set of all equivalence classes of affine Poisson structures (defined on the dual of a finite dimensional Lie algebra) and the set of all equivalence classes of central extensions of the Lie algebra by ℝ. We characterize all the affine Poisson structures defined on the duals of some lower dimensional Lie algebras. It is shown that under a certain condition every Poisson structure locally looks like an affine Poisson structure. As an application, we show the role played by affine Poisson structures in mechanics. Finally, we prove some involution theorems.  相似文献

In this work we provide three new characterizations of affine dual frames constructed from refinable functions. The first one is similar to Daubechies et al. (2003) [10, Proposition 5.2] but without any decay assumptions on the generators of a pair of affine systems. The second one reveals the geometric significance of the Mixed Fundamental function and the third one shows that the Mixed Oblique Extension Principle actually characterizes dual framelets. We also extend recent results on the characterization of affine Parseval frames obtained in Stavropoulos (2012) [27, Theorem 2.3].  相似文献

In areas of geometric modeling and wavelets, one often needs to construct a compactly supported refinable function φ which has sufficient regularity and which is fundamental for interpolation [that means, φ(0)=1 and φ(α)=0 for all α∈ Z s ∖{0}].
Low regularity examples of such functions have been obtained numerically by several authors, and a more general numerical scheme was given in [1]. This article presents several schemes to construct compactly supported fundamental refinable functions, which have higher regularity, directly from a given, continuous, compactly supported, refinable fundamental function φ. Asymptotic regularity analyses of the functions generated by the constructions are given.The constructions provide the basis for multivariate interpolatory subdivision algorithms that generate highly smooth surfaces.
A very important consequence of the constructions is a natural formation of pairs of dual refinable functions, a necessary element in constructing biorthogonal wavelets. Combined with the biorthogonal wavelet construction algorithm for a pair of dual refinable functions given in [2], we are able to obtain symmetrical compactly supported multivariate biorthogonal wavelets which have arbitrarily high regularity. We endow the set of complements of a fixed subspace of a projective space with the structure of an affine space, and show that certain lines of such an affine space are affine reguli or cones over affine reguli. Moreover, we apply our concepts to the problem of describing dual spreads. We do not assume that the projective space is finite-dimensional or pappian.  相似文献

We construct directional wavelet systems that will enable building efficient signal representation schemes with good direction selectivity. In particular, we focus on wavelet bases with dyadic quincunx subsampling. In our previous work (Yin, in: Proceedings of the 2015 international conference on sampling theory and applications (SampTA), 2015), we show that the supports of orthonormal wavelets in our framework are discontinuous in the frequency domain, yet this irregularity constraint can be avoided in frames, even with redundancy factor <2. In this paper, we focus on the extension of orthonormal wavelets to biorthogonal wavelets and show that the same obstruction of regularity as in orthonormal schemes exists in biorthogonal schemes. In addition, we provide a numerical algorithm for biorthogonal wavelets construction where the dual wavelets can be optimized, though at the cost of deteriorating the primal wavelets due to the intrinsic irregularity of biorthogonal schemes.  相似文献

It is an open problem whether any pair of Bessel sequences with wavelet structure can be extended to a pair of dual frames by adding a pair of singly generated wavelet systems. We consider the particular case where the given wavelet systems are generated by the multiscale setup with trigonometric masks and provide a positive answer under extra assumptions. We also identify a number of conditions that are necessary for the extension to dual (multi-) wavelet frames with any number of generators, and show that they imply that an extension with two pairs of wavelet systems is possible. Along the way we provide examples that demonstrate the extra flexibility in the extension to dual pairs of frames compared with the more popular extensions to tight frames.  相似文献

For sufficiently small translation parameters, we prove that any bandlimited function ψ, for which the dilations of its Fourier transform form a partition of unity, generates a wavelet frame with a dual frame also having the wavelet structure. This dual frame is generated by a finite linear combination of dilations of ψ with explicitly given coefficients. The result allows a simple construction procedure for pairs of dual wavelet frames whose generators have compact support in the Fourier domain and desired time localization. The construction is based on characterizing equations for dual wavelet frames and relies on a technical condition. We exhibit a general class of function satisfying this condition; in particular, we construct piecewise polynomial functions satisfying the condition.   相似文献

This paper presents a computationally realizable approach for the construction of an approximate dual wavelet frame. We are considering wavelet frames on the real line obtained by appropriate translation and dilation of a single given atom. We show asymptotic results in operator norm. Due to its potential applications in multiplexing techniques, the study of superframes has interested some researchers. This paper addresses dual super wavelet and Gabor frames in the subspace setting. We obtain a basic-equation characterization for subspace dual super wavelet and Gabor frames. In addition, applying this characterization, we derive a procedure that allows for constructing subspace dual super wavelet frames based on certain subspace dual super Gabor frames, and vice versa.
