We report the generation of an 8.5-nJ chirped pulse from a mode-locked all-fiber Yb-doped laser. Mode- locking is achieved through nonlinear polarization evolution (NPE) along with spectral filtering. The laser delivers 135 mW of average output power with positively chirped 10.9-ps pulses. The pulse repetition rate is 15.9 MHz, which results in an energy of 8.5 nJ per pulse. The externally dechirped pulse duration is 223 fs, and the pulse energy is 6 n J, which corresponds to the peak power of -27 kW.  相似文献

A diode-side-pumped Tm,Ho:LuLiF laser at 2-m wavelength obtained in a ring resonator and its amplification experiment are reported. At the maximum pump energy of 4.7 J available for the oscillator,the output energy per pulse for the oscillator decreases from 904 to 483 mJ in free running mode,and decreases from 106 to 68 mJ in Q-switched mode,with an increase of pump pulse repetition rate from 1 to 5 Hz. When considering the amplifier,99-mJ Q-switched output energy is achieved at 5-Hz repetition rate.  相似文献

We report the repetitively Q-switched laser operation of the Yb-doped calcium niobium gallium garnet disordered garnet crystal, achieved with an acousto-optic modulator in a compact plano-concave resonator that is endpumped by a 935-nm diode laser. An average output power of 1.96 W is produced at pulse repetition rate of50 k Hz at emission wavelengths around 1035 nm, with a slope efficiency of 16%. The highest pulse energy of 269 μJ is generated at pulse repetition rate of 1 k Hz, with pulse width 12.1 ns and peak power 20.53 kW.  相似文献

We report a diode-pumped intracavity frequency-doubled self-Q-switched and mode-locked Cr,Nd:YAG/KTP green laser with a Z-type cavity, which produces 1.5 W of average power at 532nm with incident pump power 14.2 W. The individual mode-locked green pulse duration is about 560ps with 149 MHz repetition rate. Almost 100% modulation depth of the mode-locked green pulses is achieved at an incident pump power of 4.13 W. The maximum energy of Q-switched green pulse is 19.8μJ. The experimental results of pulse duration and pulse energy of Q-switched green pulse agree well with the theoretical calculations.  相似文献

We present a novel high-energy, single-mode, all-fiber-based master-oscillator-power-amplifier (MOPA) laser system operating in the C-band with 3.3-ns pulses and a very widely tunable repetition rate, ranging from 30 kHz to 50 MHz. The laser with a maximum pulse energy of 25 μJ and a repetition rate of 30 kHz is obtained at a wavelength of 1548 nm by using a double-clad, single-mode, Er:Yb co-doped fiber power amolifier.  相似文献

We report the specification of a compact and stable side diode-pumped Q-switched pulsed Nd:YAG laser. We experimentally study and compare the performance of the pulsed Nd:YAG laser in the free-running and Q-switched modes at different pulse repetition rates from 1 Hz to 100 Hz. The laser output energy is stabilized by using a special configuration of the optical resonator. In this laser, an unsymmetrical concave–concave resonator is used and this structure helps the mode volume to be nearly fixed when the pulse repetition rate is increased. According to the experimental results in the Q-switched operation, the laser output energy is nearly constant around 70 m J with an FWHM pulse width of 7 ns at100 Hz. The optical-to-optical conversion efficiency in the Q-switched regime is 17.5%.  相似文献

A diode-pumped, acousto-optic Q-switched fiber laser is presented based on multimode ytterbium-doped fiber. The fiber with core diameter of 30 μm is used to increase the laser gain volume and the pulse energy efficiently. The average power in excess of 9 W is obtained at the repetition rate of 20 kHz with 66% slope efficiency. The pulse width is 198 ns with no evident amplified spontaneous emission between pulses, thus the pulse energy and peak power are 465 μJ and 2.36 kW, respectively.  相似文献

A high-energy femtosecond all ytterbium fiber amplifier based on a chirped-pulse amplification(CPA) technique at a repetition rate of 1 MHz seeded by a dispersion-management mode-locked picosecond broadband oscillator is studied.We find that the compressed pulse duration is dependent on the amplified energy,the pulse duration of 804 fs corresponds to the maximum amplified energy of 10.5 μJ,while the shortest pulse duration of 424 fs corresponds to the amplified energy of 6.75 μJ.The measured energy fluctuation is approximately 0.46% root mean square(RMS) over 2 h.The low-cost femtosecond fiber laser source with super-stability will be widely used in industrial micromachines,medical therapy,and scientific studies.  相似文献

A laser diode (LD) pumped Nd:YAG red pulse laser at 660 mn was presented by V:YAG passively Q-switching and LBO intracavity frequency doubling. With 1.6-W incident pump power, average output power of 46-mW, pulse duration (FWHM) of 23.3 ns, pulse repetition rate of 21.6 kHz, peak power of 91.4 W, and single pulse energy of 2.13 μJ were obtained. The beam quality factor M2 was less than 1.2. The fluctuations of pulse energy and repetition rate were less than 3% in 4 hours. The pulsed laser at 660 nm is expected to be used as the pump source of Cr3+:doped crystal to obtain the gain-switched tunable laser.  相似文献

A simple mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) with three switchable operation states is proposed and demonstrated based on nonlinear polarization rotation. The EDFL generates a stable square pulse at a third harmonic pulse repetition rate of 87kHz as the 1480 nm pump power increases from the threshold of 17.5 m W to 34.3mW. The square pulse duration increases from 105 ns to 245ns as the pump power increases within this region. The pulse operation switches to the second operation state as the pump power is varied from 48.2mW to l16.Tm W. The laser operates at a fundamental repetition rate of 29 kHz with a fixed pulse width of 8.5 μs within the pump power region. At a pump power of ll6.TmW, the average output power is 3.84mW, which corresponds to the pulse energy of 131.5 ng. When the pump power continues to increase, the pulse train experiences unstable oscillation before it reaches the third stable operation state within a pump power region of 138.9 m W to 145.0 m W. Within this region, the EDFL produces a fixed pulse width of 2.8 μs and a harmonic pulse repetition rate of 58 kHz.  相似文献

A near-diffraction-limited green source is generated at 1 kHz repetition rate by frequency doubling of a diode stack end-pumped electro-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG slab laser. We obtain 9. 7mJ green light with pulse width of 12.2ns at a repetition rates of i kHz. The pump to green optical conversion efficiency is 12.9%. The generation of high-energy dual-wavelength domain wall pulse with a low repetition rate is demonstrated in a highly nonlinear fiber (HNLF)-based fiber ring laser. By introducing the intracavity birefringence-induced spectral filtering effect, the dual-wavelength lasing operation can be achieved. In order to enhance the cross coupling effect between the two lasing beams for domain wall pulse formation, a 215-m HNLF is incorporated into the laser cavity. Experimentally, it is found that the dual-wavelength domain wall pulse with a repetition rate of 77.67 kHz could be efficiently obtained through simply rotating the polarization controller (PC). At a maximum pump power of 322 mW, the 655-nJ single pulse energy in cavity is obtained. The proposed configuration provides a simpler and more efficient way to generate high energy pulse with a low repetition rate.  相似文献

A laser diode array side-pumped Nd:glass square rod amplifier of the dimensions 12 mm × 12 mm is designed.The fluorescence is evenly distributed in the Nd:glass amplifier.When the pump power is 66.32 kW,the small signal gain increases by 3.23 times.Under the condition of a 1 Hz repetition frequency,50 mJ of injected seedlight energy,and a 10 mm × 10 mm aperture,the output energy of the laser beam can reach 1.62 J during the four-pass amplification.The output energy stability of the laser pulse is 2.94%(RMS),and the square pulse distortion is smaller than 2.The energy amplification of the injected laser beam from millijoules to joules is realized.  相似文献

A compact high-power picosecond regenerative amplifier based on continuous wave(CW) diode sidepumped Nd:YAG is demonstrated.Average power of 8.8 W is achieved at a repetition rate of 5 kHz at a wavelength of 1 064 nm with a pulse duration of 28 ps,corresponding to a pulse energy of 1.76 mJ and a peak power of 62.9 MW.The beam quality is close to the di?raction limit with Mx2 = 1.24,My2 = 1.03.To the best of our knowledge,this is the highest pulse energy obtained from a CW diode pumped Nd:YAG picosecond regenerative amplifier.  相似文献

We demonstrate a stable Q-switched mode-locked erbium-doped fiber laser(EDFL) operating in dark regime based on the nonlinear polarization rotation technique.The EDFL produces a pulse train where the Q-switching envelope is formed by multiple dark pulses.The repetition rate of the Q-switched envelope can be increased from 0.96 kHz to 3.26 kHz,whereas the pulse width reduces from 211 μs to 86 μs.The highest pulse of 479 nJ is obtained at the pump power of 55 mW.It is also observed that the dark pulses inside the Q-switching envelope consist of two parts:square and trailing dark pulses.The shortest pulse width of the dark square pulse is obtained at 40.5μs when the pump power is fixed at 145 mW.The repetition rate of trailing dark pulses can be increased from 27.62 kHz to 50 kHz as the pump power increases from 55 mW to 145 mW.  相似文献

A pre-pumped passively Q-switched Nd:YAG/Cr: YAG microchip laser is demonstrated with a peak power of 7.5 kW at pulse repetition rate of serveral kilohertzs. The full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) is 734 ps, and the pulse energy is 5.5 μJ with a fundamental spatial mode. In this system, the pre-pumped microchip laser of Nd: YAG/Cr: YAG wafer which is bonded through the thermal-bonding technique has achieved a time jitter value of 12 μs and a Q-switched amplitude instability of 1.26% (1δ) through the pre-pumped modulation technique.  相似文献

A novel design for a highly efficient 1-kHz single-frequency green laser is proposed.An efficient singlefrequency laser pulse output at 532-nm wavelength may be obtained by combining the injection seeding with intracavity frequency doubling in a compact U-shaped cavity formed by two plano dichroic mirrors in an end-pumping arrangement.The laser is capable of producing green pulses with a total energy of 6.3 mJ at a pulse repetition rate of 1 kHz.The pulse width is about 10 ns and the optical-optical efficiency from the 808-nm pump source to the 532-nm green output is around 12.7%.  相似文献

We present a passively Q-switched Yb:KGW laser based on a transmission-type saturable absorber of topological insulator:Bi_2Se_3.The saturable absorber is prepared on a 0.17-mm glass substrate and can translate intra-cavity for best performance nearly without influence on the laser mode.At a maximum pump power of 13.7 W,the central wavelength,pulse duration,repetition rate,and pulse energy of Q-switched pulse are 1043 nm,1.5 μs,175.4 kHz,6.39 μJ,respectively.The maximum output power is 1.12 W.To our knowledge,this is the highest average output power from passively Qswitched lasers with topological insulator saturable absorbers.  相似文献

We report on a diode-pumped passively continuous wave(cw) mode-locked Tm:YAP laser with a double-wall carbon nanotube(DWCNT) absorber operating at a wavelength of 2023 nm for the first time,to the best our knowledge.The DWCNT absorber is fabricated on a hydrophilic quartz substrate by using the vertical evaporation technique.The output power is as high as 375 mW.A stable pulse train with a repetition rate of 72.26 MHz is generated with a highest single pulse energy of 5.2 μJ.  相似文献
