An alkynyl‐protected gold nanocluster, Au22(tBuC≡C)18 ( 1 ), has been synthesized and its structure has been determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The molecular structure consists of a Au13 cuboctahedron kernel and three [Au3(tBuC≡C)4] trimeric staples. The cluster 1 has strong luminescence in the solid state with a 15 % quantum yield, and it displays interesting thermochromic luminescence as revealed by temperature‐dependent emission spectra. The enhanced room‐temperature emission is characterized as thermally activated delayed fluorescence.  相似文献

Supramolecular ensembles adopting ring‐in‐ring structures are less developed compared with catenanes featuring interlocked rings. While catenanes with inter‐ring closed‐shell metallophilic interactions, such as d10–d10 AuI–AuI interactions, have been well‐documented, the ring‐in‐ring complexes featuring such metallophilic interactions remain underdeveloped. Herein is described an unprecedented ring‐in‐ring structure of a AuI‐thiolate Au12 cluster formed by recrystallization of a AuI‐thiolate Au10 [2]catenane from alkane solvents such as hexane, with use of a bulky dibutylfluorene‐2‐thiolate ligand. The ring‐in‐ring AuI‐thiolate Au12 cluster features inter‐ring AuI–AuI interactions and underwent cluster core change to form the thermodynamically more stable Au10 [2]catenane structure upon dissolving in, or recrystallization from, other solvents such as CH2Cl2, CHCl3, and CH2Cl2/MeCN. The cluster‐to‐cluster transformation process was monitored by 1H NMR and ESI‐MS measurements. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were performed to provide insight into the mechanism of the “ring‐in‐ring? [2]catenane” interconversions.  相似文献

A novel interfacial route has been developed for the synthesis of a bright‐red‐emitting new subnanocluster, Au23, by the core etching of a widely explored and more stable cluster, Au25SG18 (in which SG is glutathione thiolate). A slight modification of this procedure results in the formation of two other known subnanoclusters, Au22 and Au33. Whereas Au22 and Au23 are water soluble and brightly fluorescent with quantum yields of 2.5 and 1.3 %, respectively, Au33 is organic soluble and less fluorescent, with a quantum yield of 0.1 %. Au23 exhibits quenching of fluorescence selectively in the presence of Cu2+ ions and it can therefore be used as a metal‐ion sensor. Aqueous‐ to organic‐phase transfer of Au23 has been carried out with fluorescence enhancement. Solvent dependency on the fluorescence of Au23 before and after phase transfer has been studied extensively and the quantum yield of the cluster varies with the solvent used. The temperature response of Au23 emission has been demonstrated. The inherent fluorescence of Au23 was used for imaging human hepatoma cells by employing the avidin–biotin interaction.  相似文献

Aurophilic interactions (AuI???AuI) are crucial in directing the supramolecular self‐assembly of many gold(I) compounds; however, this intriguing chemistry has been rarely explored for the self‐assembly of nanoscale building blocks. Herein, we report on studies on aurophilic interactions in the structure‐directed self‐assembly of ultrasmall gold nanoparticles or nanoclusters (NCs, <2 nm) using [Au25(SR)18]? (SR=thiolate ligand) as a model cluster. The self‐assembly of NCs is initiated by surface‐motif reconstruction of [Au25(SR)18]? from short SR‐[AuI‐SR]2 units to long SR‐[AuI‐SR]x (x>2) staples accompanied by structure modification of the intrinsic Au13 kernel. Such motif reconstruction increases the content of AuI species in the protecting shell of Au NCs, providing the structural basis for directed aurophilic interactions, which promote the self‐assembly of Au NCs into well‐defined nanoribbons in solution. More interestingly, the compact structure and effective aurophilic interactions in the nanoribbons significantly enhance the luminescence intensity of Au NCs with an absolute quantum yield of 6.2 % at room temperature.  相似文献

Direct evidence for the blue luminescence of gold nanoclusters encapsulated inside hydroxyl‐terminated polyamidoamine (PAMAM) dendrimers was provided by spectroscopic studies as well as by theoretical calculations. Steady‐state and time‐resolved spectroscopic studies showed that the luminescence of the gold nanoclusters consisted largely of two electronic transitions. Theoretical calculations indicate that the two transitions are attributed to the different sizes of the gold nanoclusters (Au8 and Au13). The luminescence of the gold nanoclusters was clearly distinguished from that of the dendrimers.  相似文献

A 23‐gold‐atom nanocluster was prepared by NaBH4‐mediated reduction of a solution of PhC?CAu and Ph3PAuSbF6 in CH2Cl2. The cluster composition was determined to be [Au23(PhC?C)9(Ph3P)6]2+ and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction revealed that the cluster has an unprecedented Au17 kernel protected by three PhC2‐Au‐C2(Ph)‐Au‐C2Ph motifs and six Ph3P groups. The Au17 core can be viewed as the fusion of two Au10 units sharing a Au3 triangle. Electronic structure analysis from DFT calculations suggests that the stability of this unusual 12‐electron cluster is a result of the splitting of the superatomic 1D orbitals under D3h symmetry of the Au17 kernel. The discovery and determination of the structure of the Au23 cluster demonstrates the versatility of the alkynyl ligand in leading to the formation of new cluster compounds.  相似文献

The chemisorption of 1,3,4‐oxadiazole‐2‐thiol (ODT) on gold nanorods has been investigated by using surface‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and density functional theory (DFT). Although most of the SERS spectra have remarkable similarity to the normal Raman spectra of the pure analyte, the adsorption of ODT on a gold surface leads to a drastic change in its Raman spectrum and distinct vibrational features are obtained with gold nanorods and spherical nanoparticles. Simulated Raman spectra for hybrid systems that consist of an oxadiazole moiety coordinated to a Au20 gold cluster provided valuable information about the coordination mode and enabled us to assign vibration modes.  相似文献

The thermal reactions of the closed‐shell, “naked” gold–carbene complex [Au(CH2)]+ with methane have been explored by using FTICR mass spectrometry complemented by quantum chemical (QC) calculations at the CCSD(T)//BMK level of theory. Mechanistic aspects for this unprecedentedly efficient carbene insertion in the C? H bond of methane have been addressed and the origin of the counterintuitive high reactivity of [Au(CH2)]+ towards this most inert hydrocarbon is discussed.  相似文献

A new strategy was explored to generate pure gold cluster ions, Aun+/?, from gold films deposited on solid substrates via a matrix‐assisted laser ablation technique. The gold films deposited on SiO2‐particle‐assembled photonic crystals were demonstrated to be the most ideal compared with the films deposited on various glass slides. Dropped with a matrix of 2‐(4‐hydroxyphenylazo) benzoic acid and bombarded by nitrogen pulse laser (355 nm), they could release a series of Aun+ with n more than 110 or Aun? with n more than 60 according to the data obtained by inline time‐of‐flight mass spectrometry. The gold‐deposited photonic crystal substrates could be stored at room temperature for at least 6 months. The method is hence steady and convenient in use. The geometric, spectroscopic, and electronic properties of neutral yttrium‐doped gold clusters AunY (n=1–9) are studied by far‐infrared multiple photon dissociation (FIR‐MPD) spectroscopy and quantum chemical calculations. Comparison of the observed and calculated vibrational spectra allows the structures of the isomers present in the molecular beam to be determined. Most of the isomers for which the IR spectra agree best with experiment are calculated to be the energetically most stable ones. Attachment of xenon to the AunY cluster can cause changes in the IR spectra, which involve band shifts and band splittings. In some cases symmetry changes, as a result of the attachment of xenon atoms, were also observed. All the AunY clusters considered prefer a low spin state. In contrast to pure gold clusters, which exhibit exclusively planar lowest‐energy structures for small sizes, several of the studied species are three‐dimensional. This is particularly the case for Au4Y and Au9Y, while for some other sizes (n=5, 8) the 3D structures have an energy similar to that of their 2D counterparts. Several of the lowest‐energy structures are quasi‐2D, that is, slightly distorted from planar shapes. For all the studied species the Y atom prefers high coordination, which is different from other metal dopants in gold clusters.  相似文献

Gold nanoparticles in metallic or plasmonic state have been widely used to catalyze homogeneous and heterogeneous reactions. However, the catalytic behavior of gold catalysts in non‐metallic or excitonic state remain elusive. Atomically precise Aun clusters (n=number of gold atoms) bridge the gap between non‐metallic and metallic catalysts and offer new opportunities for unveiling the hidden properties of gold catalysts in the metallic, transition regime, and non‐metallic states. Here, we report the controllable conversion of CO2 over three non‐metallic Aun clusters, including Au9, Au11, and Au36, towards different target products: methane produced on Au9, ethanol on Au11, and formic acid on Au36. Structural information encoded in the non‐metallic clusters permits a precise correlation of atomic structure with catalytic properties and hence, provides molecular‐level insight into distinct reaction channels of CO2 hydrogenation over the three non‐metallic Au catalysts.  相似文献

Polystyrene‐core–silica‐shell hybrid particles were synthesized by combining the self‐assembly of nanoparticles and the polymer with a silica coating strategy. The core–shell hybrid particles are composed of gold‐nanoparticle‐decorated polystyrene (PS‐AuNP) colloids as the core and silica particles as the shell. PS‐AuNP colloids were generated by the self‐assembly of the PS‐grafted AuNPs. The silica coating improved the thermal stability and dispersibility of the AuNPs. By removing the “free” PS of the core, hollow particles with a hydrophobic cage having a AuNP corona and an inert silica shell were obtained. Also, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were encapsulated in the core, which resulted in magnetic core–shell hybrid particles by the same strategy. These particles have potential applications in biomolecular separation and high‐temperature catalysis and as nanoreactors.  相似文献

An alkynyl‐protected gold nanocluster [Au24(C?CPh)14(PPh3)4](SbF6)2 has been prepared by a direct reduction method. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction reveals that the molecular structure contains a Au22 core that is made of two Au13‐centered cuboctahedra that share a square face. Two staple‐like PhC?C? Au? C?CPh motifs are located around the center of the rod‐like Au22 core. This Au24 nanocluster is highly emissive in the near‐infrared region with λmax=925 nm and the nature of the HOMO–LUMO transition is investigated by time‐dependent DFT calculations.  相似文献

The first examples of gold(I) trimethylsilylchalcogenolate complexes were synthesized and their reactivity showcased in the preparation of a novel gold–copper–sulfur cluster [Au4Cu4S4(dppm)2] (dppm=bis(diphenylphosphino)methane). The unprecedented structural chemistry of this compound gives rise to interesting optoelectronic properties, including long‐lived orange luminescence in the solid state. Through time‐dependent density functional theory calculations, this emission is shown to originate from ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer facilitated by Au???Cu metallophilic bonding.  相似文献

The chirality of a gold nanocluster can be generated from either an intrinsically chiral inorganic core or an achiral inorganic core in a chiral environment. The first structural determination of a gold nanocluster containing an intrinsic chiral inorganic core is reported. The chiral gold nanocluster [Au20(PP3)4]Cl4 (PP3=tris(2‐(diphenylphosphino)ethyl)phosphine) has been prepared by the reduction of a gold(I)–tetraphosphine precursor in dichloromethane solution. Single‐crystal structural determination reveals that the cluster molecular structure has C3 symmetry. It consists of a Au20 core consolidated by four peripheral tetraphosphines. The Au20 core can be viewed as the combination of an icosahedral Au13 and a helical Y‐shaped Au7 motif. The identity of this Au20 cluster is confirmed by ESI‐MS. The chelation of multidentate phosphines enhances the stability of this Au20 cluster.  相似文献

Dopamine (DA) is a significant neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, coexisting with uric acid (UA) and ascorbic acid (AA). UA and AA are easily oxidizable compounds having potentials close to that of DA for electrochemical analysis, resulting in overlapping voltammetric response. In this work, a novel molecularly imprinted (MI) electrochemical sensor was proposed for selective determination of DA (in the presence of up to 80‐fold excess of UA and AA), relying on gold nanoparticles (Aunano)‐decorated glassy carbon (GC) electrode coated with poly(carbazole (Cz)‐co‐aniline (ANI)) copolymer film incorporating DA as template (DA imprinted‐GC/P(Cz‐co‐ANI)‐Aunano electrode, DA‐MIP‐Aunano electrode). The DA recognizing sensor electrode showed great electroactivity for analyte oxidation in 0.2 mol L?1 pH 7 phosphate buffer. Square wave voltammetry (SWV) was performed within 10?4–10?5 mol L?1 of DA, of which the oxidation peak potential was observed at 0.16 V. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) were 2.0×10?6 and 6.7×10?6 mol L?1, respectively. Binary and ternary synthetic mixtures of DA‐UA, DA‐AA and DA‐UA‐AA yielded excellent recoveries for DA. Additionally, DA was quantitatively recovered from a real sample of bovine serum spiked with DA, and determined in concentrated dopamine injection solution. The developed SWV method was statistically validated against a literature potentiodynamic method using a caffeic acid modified‐GC electrode.  相似文献

The rod‐shaped Au25 nanocluster possesses a low photoluminescence quantum yield (QY=0.1 %) and hence is not of practical use in bioimaging and related applications. Herein, we show that substituting silver atoms for gold in the 25‐atom matrix can drastically enhance the photoluminescence. The obtained AgxAu25?x (x=1–13) nanoclusters exhibit high quantum yield (QY=40.1 %), which is in striking contrast with the normally weakly luminescent AgxAu25?x species (x=1–12, QY=0.21 %). X‐ray crystallography further determines the substitution sites of Ag atoms in the AgxAu25?x cluster through partial occupancy analysis, which provides further insight into the mechanism of photoluminescence enhancement.  相似文献

The structure of nanoparticles plays a critical role in dictating their material properties. Gold is well known to adopt face‐centered cubic (fcc) structure. Herein we report the first observation of a body‐centered cubic (bcc) gold nanocluster composed of 38 gold atoms protected by 20 adamantanethiolate ligands and two sulfido atoms ([Au38S2(SR)20], where R=C10H15) as revealed by single‐crystal X‐ray crystallography. This bcc structure is in striking contrast with the fcc structure of bulk gold and conventional Au nanoparticles, as well as the bi‐icosahedral structure of [Au38(SCH2CH2Ph)24]. The bcc nanocluster has a distinct HOMO–LUMO gap of ca. 1.5 eV, much larger than the gap (0.9 eV) of the bi‐icosahedral [Au38(SCH2CH2Ph)24]. The unique structure of the bcc gold nanocluster may be promising in catalytic applications.  相似文献

Aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) provides an efficient strategy to synthesize highly luminescent metal nanoclusters (NCs), however, rational control of emission energy and intensity of metal NCs is still challenging. This communication reveals the impact of surface AuI‐thiolate motifs on the AIE properties of Au NCs, by employing a series of water‐soluble glutathione (GSH)‐coordinated Au complexes and NCs as a model ([Au10SR10], [Au15SR13], [Au18SR14], and [Au25SR18]?, SR=thiolate ligand). Spectroscopic investigations show that the emission wavelength of Au NCs is adjustable from visible to the near‐infrared II (NIR‐II) region by controlling the length of the AuI‐SR motifs on the NC surface. Decreasing the length of AuI‐SR motifs also changes the origin of cluster luminescence from AIE‐type phosphorescence to Au0‐core‐dictated fluorescence. This effect becomes more prominent when the degree of aggregation of Au NCs increases in solution.  相似文献

Total structure determination of a ligand‐protected gold nanocluster, Au144, has been successfully carried out. The composition of title nanocluster is Au144(C≡CAr)60 ( 1 ; Ar=2‐FC6H4‐). The cluster 1 exhibits a quasi‐spherical Russian doll‐like architecture, comprising a Au54 two‐shelled Mackay icosahedron (Au12@Au42), which is further enclosed by a Au60 anti‐Mackay icosahedral shell. The Au114 kernel is enwrapped by thirty linear ArC≡C‐Au‐C≡CAr staple motifs. The absorption spectrum of 1 shows two bands at 560 and 620 nm. This spectrum is distinctly different from that of thiolated Au144, which was predicted to have an almost identical metal kernel and very similar ligands arrangement in 1 . These facts indicate the molecule‐like behavior of 1 and significant involvement of ligands in the electronic structure of 1 . The cluster 1 is hitherto the largest coinage metal nanocluster with atomically precise molecular structure in the alkynyl family. The work not only addresses the concern of structural information of Au144, which had been long‐pursued, but also provides an interesting example showing ligand effects on the optical properties of ligand protected metal nanoclusters.  相似文献
