The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) self‐assembly has been used to fabricate polymer thin films on any solid substrates. The multilayer polymer thin films are constructed by alternating adsorption of anionic and cationic polymers. Polyelectrolyte multilayer ultrathin films containing anionic poly[2‐(thiophen‐3‐yl)ethyl methacrylate‐co‐methacrylic acid]; P(TEM‐co‐MA) and cationic poly[4‐(9H‐carbazol‐9‐yl)‐N‐butyl‐4‐vinyl pyridium bromide]; P4VPCBZ, were fabricated. The growth of multilayer ultrathin films was followed by UV–Vis absorption spectrophotometer and surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR). The deposition of P(TEM‐co‐MA)/P4VPCBZ as multilayer self‐assembled ultrathin films regularly grow which showed linear growth of absorbance and thickness with increasing the number of layer pair. Cross‐linking of the layers was verified by cyclic voltammetry (CV), UV–Vis spectrophotometry and electrochemical surface plasmon resonance (EC‐SPR) spectroscopy with good electro‐copolymerizability. This was verified by spectroelectrochemistry. The SPR angular‐reflectivity measurement resulted in shifts to a higher reflectivity according to the change in the dielectric constant of the electropolymerized film. Photocatalytic multilayer nanocomposite films composed of anatase TiO2 nanoparticles and lignosulfonates (LS) were fabricated on quartz slides by the layer‐by‐layer (LBL) self‐assembly technique. X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), UV‐vis spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to characterize the TiO2/LS multilayer nanocomposite films. Moreover, the photocatalytic properties (decomposition of methyl orange and bacteria) of multilayer nanocomposite films were investigated. XPS results indicated that the intensities of titanium and sulfur peaks increased with the LBL deposition process. A linear increase in absorbance at 280 nm was found by UV‐Vis spectroscopy, suggesting that stepwise multilayer growth occurs on the substrate and this deposition process is highly reproducible. AFM images showed that quartz slide was completely covered by TiO2 nanoparticles when a 10‐bilayer multilayer film was formed. The decomposition efficiency of methyl orange by TiO2/LS multilayer films under the same UV irradiation time increased linearly with the number of TiO2 layers, and the results of decomposition of bacteria under UV irradiation showed that TiO2/LS multilayer nanocomposite films exhibited excellent decomposition activity of bacteria (Escherichia coil).  相似文献

Ultrathin multilayer films of a rare-earth-containing polyoxometalate Na9[Eu(W5O18)2](EW) and poly (allymamine hydrochloride)(PAH) have been prepared by layer-by-layer self-assembly from dilute aqueous solution.The fabrication process of the EW/PAH multilaryer films was followed by UV-vis spectroscopy and ellipsometry,which show that the deposition process is linear and highly reproducible from layer to layer.An average EW/PAH bilayer thickness of ca.2.1nm was determined by ellipsometry.In addition,the scanning electron microscopy(SEM) image of the EW/PAH film indicates that the film surface is relatively uniform and smooth.The photoluminescent properties of these films were also investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy.  相似文献

Multilayer films of negatively charged single‐wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) and positively charged cetylpyridinium bromide (CPB) have been deposited on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) using layer‐by‐layer (LBL) technique. The assembled multilayer films have been investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) measurements. The voltammetric signal of dopamine (DA), uric acid (UA), and ascorbic acid (AA) could be observed well‐separated with the assembled SWCNTs/CPB multilayer films in pH 7.0 PBS. The oxidation peak potentials of DA, UA, and AA are centered at about 169 mV, 292 mV and ?10 mV on differential pulse voltammograms (DPVs), respectively. The peak‐to‐peak potential separation was 123 mV, 179 mV, and 302 mV for DA‐UA, DA‐AA, and UA‐AA in DPVs, respectively. This permits the simultaneous detection of DA and UA in the presence of AA.  相似文献

Two polymers containing pyridine rings were prepared by free‐radical polymerization and confirmed by Fourier transform infrared and 1H NMR spectra. The preparation of four multilayer films that were obtained by self‐assembly of the polymer and the transition metal neutralized polyelectrolyte on PE substrate was described. UV–vis spectra and atomic force microscopy images were applied to characterize these films and indicate the uniform assembling process. The driving force for building up the multilayer films was identified by infrared spectroscopy to be the coordination interaction. The magnetic behavior was examined as a function of magnetic field strength at 30 kOe and as a function of temperature (5–300 K). All films display strong soft ferromagnetic properties and higher than those of the bulk materials. The magnetic results show that the layer‐by‐layer self‐assembling approach is beneficial to the ordered alignment of adjacent paramagnetic spins and induces better magnetic phenomena. Stable multilayer films with cucurbit[8]uril have been fabricated on the basis of the alternating layer‐by‐layer assembly of a novel side‐chain pseudopolyrotaxane and a photoreactive polyanion. The as‐prepared multilayer films exhibit good properties as surface‐imprinted multilayers, because cucurbit[8]uril molecules that are locked inside the multilayers can act as nanocontainers with specific binding to certain guest molecules, and the loading and release of the guest is redox‐controllable and reversible.  相似文献

The layer‐by‐layer (LBL) assembly technique is an attractive method to make functional multilayer thin films and has been applied to fabricate a wide range of materials. LBL materials could improve optical transmittance and mechanical properties if the film components were covalently bonded. Covalently bonded nanocomposite multilayer films were prepared by employing hydrophilic aliphatic polyisocyanate (HAPI) as the reactive component, to react with Laponite and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). FT‐IR spectra suggested that HAPI reacted with Laponite and PVA at ambient temperature rapidly. Ellipsometry measurement showed that the film thickness was in linear growth. The influences of HAPI on the optical, mechanical and thermal properties of the films were investigated by UV‐Vis spectroscopy, tensile stress measurement, DSC and TGA. The obtained results showed that the optical transmittance and mechanical strength were enhanced when the film components were covalently bonded by HAPI. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Calf thymus DNA was immobilized on functionalized glassy carbon, gold and quartz substrates, respectively, by the layer‐by‐layer (LBL) assembly method with a polycation QPVP‐Os, a quaternized poly(4‐vinylpyridine) partially complexed with osmium bis(2,2′‐bipyridine) as counterions. UV‐visible absorption and surface plasmon resonance spectroscopy (SPR) showed that the resulting film was uniform with the average thickness 3.4 nm for one bilayer. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) showed that the total surface coverage of the polycations increases as each QPVP‐Os/DNA bilayer added to the electrode surface, but the surface formal potential of Os‐centered redox reaction shifts negatively, which is mainly attributed to the intercalation of redox‐active complex to DNA chain. The electron transfer kinetics of electroactive QPVP‐Os in the multilayer film was investigated by electrochemical impedance experiment for the first time. The permeability of Fe(CN) in the solution into the multilayer film depends on the number of bilayers in the film. It is worth noting that when the multilayer film is up to 4 bilayers, the CV curves of the multilayer films display the typical characteristic of a microelectrode array. The nanoporous structure of the multilayer film was further confirmed by the surface morphology analysis using atomic force microscopy (AFM).  相似文献

The detection of layer‐by‐layer self‐assembly multilayer films was carried out using low‐temperature plasma (LTP) mass spectrometry (MS) under ambient conditions. These multilayer films have been prepared on quartz plates through the alternate assembling of oppositely charged 4‐aminothiophenol (4‐ATP) capped Au particles and thioglycolic acid (TGA) capped Ag particles. An LTP probe was used for direct desorption and ionization of chemical components on the films. Without the complicated sample preparation, the structure information of 4‐ATP and TGA on films was studied by LTP‐MS. Characteristic ions of 4‐ATP (M) and TGA (F), including [M]+?, [M‐NH2]+, [M‐HCN‐H]+, and [F + H]+, [F‐H]+, [F‐OH]+, [F‐COOH]+ were recorded by LTP‐MS on the films. However, [M‐CS‐H]+ and [F‐SH]+ could not be observed on the film, which were detected in the neat sample. In addition, the semi‐quantitative analysis of chemical components on monolayer film was carried out, and the amounts of 4‐ATP and TGA on monolayer surface were 45 ng/mm2 and 54 ng/mm2, respectively. This resulted the ionization efficiencies of 72% for 4‐ATP and 54% for TGA. In order to evaluate the reliability of present LTP‐MS, the correlations between this approach and some traditional methods, such as UV–vis spectroscopy, atomic force microscope and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy were studied, which resulted the correlation coefficients of higher than 0.9776. The results indicated that this technique can be used for analyzing the films without any pretreatment, which possesses great potential in the studies of self‐assembly multilayer films. The two terminal pyridyl nitrogen atoms of 2,7‐bis(4‐pyridyl)fluorene ( 1 ) were coordinated to Pd(II) ions to give self‐assembled, multilayer films using the layer‐by‐layer (LbL) method. The films were prepared by alternately dipping the substrate, pre‐coated with a polyethyleneimine layer, in aqueous solutions of PdCl2 and ethanol solutions of 1 . The resulting films were characterized using UV–visible absorption spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP‐AES). UV–visible spectra and SEM images show almost uniform growth of the film in a near ideal LbL manner. AFM images show that nanostructured aggregates of Pd(II) complexes form on the surface. With an increase in the number of Pd(II)/ 1 bilayers, more particulate aggregates are distributed on the surface. When released from the substrate, the Pd(II) complex nanostructure shows high catalytic activity for Suzuki–Miyaura and Mizoroki–Heck cross‐coupling reactions. The catalyst loading is as low as 9.1 × 10?3 mol% Pd, as measured using ICP‐AES, and high turnover numbers of up to 1.08 × 104 are obtained. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Chitosan/palladium {CTS/Pd}n composite multilayer film was assembled based on layer‐by‐layer self‐assembly technique and in‐situ photo‐chemical reduction reaction, in which the CTS plays the role of a photo‐reduction agent and an assembly reagent. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) shows that spherical Pd nanoparticles with diameter of 20 nm are well‐dispersed in the composite multilayer films, and the size of Pd nanoparticles increased gradually with the extension of illumination time. Besides, the {CTS/Pd}n composite multilayer film exhibits linear, uniform and regular layer‐by‐layer growth. Furthermore, the {CTS/Pd}n composite multilayer film presents an excellent catalytic properties for oxygen reduction, and it has potential application in energy, chemical synthesis and biological processes. 用水热微乳法制备了Keggin结构(CTA)0.2(HGly)2.8[PMo12O40]·nH2O(1) 纳米粒子(nano-1), 并通过元素分析, XPS, IR, XRD, TEM和CV进行表征. 利用层接层自组装技术, 将已制备的纳米粒子装配成纳米复合膜, 用紫外-可见光谱监测膜的生长, 用电化学方法分析膜的成分. 测定了纳米粒子对致病Escherichia coli(E. coli)的拮抗性, 结果显示, 纳米粒子及其复合膜具有显著的抗菌活性.  相似文献

The fabrication of stable polyelectrolyte/Au nanoparticle multilayer films was achieved by the UV irradiation of layer‐by‐layer self‐assembled multilayers consisting of diazoresins and Au nanoparticles. We investigated the effects of the multilayer polymer‐clay nanohybrid passivation films on the stability of pentacene organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) exposed to air and UV irradiation. Well‐ordered multilayer films were deposited by the spin‐assisted layer‐by‐layer assembly method using photocrosslinkable poly(vinyl alcohol) with the N‐methyl‐4(4′‐formylstyryl)pyridinium methosulfate acetal group (SbQ‐PVA) and Na+‐montmorillonite in a water‐based solution process. When photocrosslinked, these SbQ‐PVA/clay multilayers were found to serve as excellent barriers to O2 and UV‐light. Moreover, when used as passivation layers, they enhanced the stability of pentacene OTFT devices exposed to air and UV radiation.  相似文献

Nineteen monolayered Cd arachidate films were deposited on float glass substrate coated with Si and Ni over-layers. Two layers have been chosen with very different surface free energies. Melting behavior of films were studied using variable temperature X-ray specular reflectivity and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy measurements. In conformity with earlier studies, melting of the multilayer precede by a transition from distorted hexagonal to hexaticlike phase. However, the transition temperature to hexaticlike phase as well as the melting temperature depend significantly on the type of layer. Both the transition temperatures are higher for the multilayer deposited on Ni layer as compared to those for the film deposited on Si layer. These results can be understood in terms of different surface free energies of Ni and Si layers. Further, in case of Ni layer, transition to hexaticlike phase is relatively sharper. Even in the molten state there is a significant difference in the structure of the Cd arachidate film on two layers; packing density of molecules in molten state is lower in case of substrate with higher surface free energy. These results suggest that the surface free energy of substrate plays a significant role in melting behavior of Langmuir–Blodgett films.  相似文献

Differential charging is often regarded as a problem in X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) studies, especially for insulating or partially conducting samples. Neutralization techniques have been developed to circumvent this effect. Instead of neutralizing the positive charge, which is often the technique to obtain good quality data, it is possible to exploit this phenomenon to get useful information about the sample. An attempt is made here to use this differential charging to study the mono- and multilayer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of cadmium arachidate on silicon substrate. The surface potential was probed by measuring XPS line shift with respect to their neutral position and was found to have correlation with the thickness of the films. No differential charging was observed in the monolayer LB film where there was only one layer of cadmium headgroup. Significant differential charging was observed for multilayer films, the total charging as well as the differential charging in these films increase with increasing number of layers. Angle-resolved XPS measurements were performed to obtain additional information about the structure of the films. Charging of the upper layer of the films close to the vacuum interface was found to be less compared to that of the interior. The discrete cadmium layers were found to be more differentially charged compared to the continuous hydrocarbon stacks in the multilayer LB films. Charging of the discrete cadmium layers has been utilized to obtain quantitative information of the multilayer LB films.  相似文献

The construction of enzyme multilayer films on colloidal particles for biocatalysis is described. The enzyme multilayers were assembled on submicrometer‐sized polystyrene spheres via the alternate adsorption of poly(ethyleneimine) and glucose oxidase using a layer‐by‐layer approach. Microelectrophoresis and single particle light scattering measurements revealed regular and step‐wise assembly of the multilayers on the colloids. The high surface area bio‐multilayer coated particles formed were subsequently utilized in enzymatic catalysis.  相似文献

The assembly of alternating DNA and positively charged poly‐(dimethyldiallylammonium chloride) (PDDA) multilayer films by electrostatic layer‐by‐layer adsorption has been studied. Real time surface plasmon resonance (BIAcore) technique was used to characterize and monitor the formation of multilayer films in solution in real time continuously. The results indicate that the uniform multilayer can be obtained on the poly‐(ethylenimine) (PEI) coated substrate surface. The kinetics of the adsorption of DNA on PDDA surface was also studied by real‐time BIAcore technique, and the observed rate constant was calculated using a Langmuir model (kobs = (1.28 ± 0.08) × 10?2s?1).  相似文献
