In this chapter of Review of AdS/CFT Integrability we introduce ${\mathcal{N}=4}$ Super Yang-Mills. We discuss the global superalagebra PSU(2, 2|4) and its action on gauge invariant operators. We then discuss the computation of the correlators of certain gauge invariant operators, the so-called single trace operators in the large N limit. We show that interactions in the gauge theory lead to mixing of the operators. We compute this mixing at the one-loop level and show that the problem maps to a one-dimensional spin chain with nearest neighbor interactions. For operators in the SU(2) sector we show that the spin chain is the ferromagnetic Heisenberg spin chain whose eigenvalues are determined by the Bethe equations.  相似文献

We show which multi-trace structures are compatible with the symmetrisation of local operators in \( \mathcal{N} = 4 \) super Yang-Mills when they are organised into representations of the global symmetry group. Cut-and-join operators give the non-planar expansion of correlation functions of these operators in the free theory. Using these techniques we find the 1/N corrections to the quarter-BPS operators which remain protected at weak coupling. We also present a new way of counting these chiral ring operators using the Weyl group S N .  相似文献

In this paper we consider the AdS 5 black hole at the \(\mathcal{N}=2\) supergravity background. By using the AdS/CFT correspondence we discuss about the quasi-normal modes of the scalar field in the black hole, which is dual of the scalar glueballs spectrum on the boundary. We obtain phase transition conditions from stable to unstable theory, which interpreted as confinement and deconfinement states in the QCD. We obtain the specific heat in terms of the temperature and charge of black hole, we find the temperature where the black hole is stable. Also we rewrite the equation of motion in the Schrödinger form and discuss the effective potential.  相似文献

Lovelock theory is the natural extension of general relativity to higher dimensions. It can be also thought of as a toy model for ghost-free higher curvature corrections in gravitational theories. It admits a family of AdS vacua, which provides an appealing arena to explore different holographic aspects in a broader setup within the context of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We will elaborate on these features and review previous work concerning the constraints that Lovelock theory entails on the CFT parameters when imposing conditions like unitarity, positivity of the energy or causality.  相似文献

We study the problem of imposing Dirichlet-like boundary conditions along a static spatial curve, in a planar Noncommutative Quantum Field Theory model.

After constructing interaction terms that impose the boundary conditions, we discuss their implementation at the level of an interacting theory, with a focus on their physical consequences, and the symmetries they preserve. We also derive the effect they have on certain observables, like the Casimir energies.

We study quantities which are important for the realization of the holographic principle in the AdS/CFT correspondence: boundaries, geodesics and the propagators of scalar fields. They should play a role in the holographic setup in the BMN limit as well. We review the backgrounds and their relations that are relevant in the AdS/CFT correspondence and in its BMN limit. We describe the realization of the holographic principle in the AdS/CFT correspondence and summarize proposals of how to translate it in the BMN limit. We analyze the boundaries, geodesics and propagators of scalar fields in detail and observe how they behave in the limiting process from AdS5×S5 to the 10‐dimensional plane wave, which is the spacetime in the BMN limit.  相似文献
