Components in the space of composition operators

We consider the topological space of all composition operators, acting on certain Hilbert spaces of holomorphic functions on the unit disc, in the uniform operator topology. A sufficient condition is given for the component of a composition operator to be a singleton. A necessary condition is given for one composition operator to lie in the component of another. In addition, we prove analogous results for the component of the image of a composition operator in the Calkin algebra. Finally, we obtain some related results on the essential norm of a linear combination of composition operators.Research supported in part by the National Science Foundation.     

Weighted Composition Operators on H 2 and Applications

Operators on function spaces acting by composition to the right with a fixed selfmap φ of some set are called composition operators of symbol φ. A weighted composition operator is an operator equal to a composition operator followed by a multiplication operator. We summarize the basic properties of bounded and compact weighted composition operators on the Hilbert Hardy space on the open unit disk and use them to study composition operators on Hardy–Smirnov spaces. Adjoints of linear fractional composition operators on the Dirichlet space

The adjoint of a linear fractional composition operator acting on the classical Dirichlet space is expressed as another linear fractional composition operator plus a two rank operator. The key point is that, in the Dirichlet space modulo constant functions, many linear fractional composition operators are similar to multiplication operators and, thus, normal. As a particular application, we can easily deduce the spectrum of each linear fractional composition operator acting on such spaces. Even the norm of each linear fractional composition operator is computed on the Dirichlet space modulo constant functions. It is also shown that all this work can be carried out in the Hardy space of the upper half plane.This work was partially supported by Plan Nacional I+D Ref. BFM2000-0360 and Junta de Andalucía Ref. A Note on Invertible Weighted Composition Operators on the Fock Space of C~N

This paper shows that a bounded invertible weighted composition operator on the Fock space of C~N is nonzero multiples of a unitary operator, which is an addition to the recent result on invertible weighted composition operator on the Fock space of C~N and an extension to the corresponding result on the Fock space of C.

Continuity of the Norm of a Composition Operator

We explore the continuity of the map which, given an analytic selfmap of the disk, takes as its value the norm of the associated composition operator on the Hardy space . We also examine the continuity the functions which assign to a self-map of the disk the Hilbert-Schmidt norm or the essential norm of the associated composition operator and show these to be discontinuous. Additionally, we characterize when the norm of a composition operator is minimal. Submitted: January 3, 2002? Revised: March 1, 2002.     

Higher order differentiability properties of the composition and of the inversion operator

This paper contains theorems of r-th order Fréchet differentiability, with r≥1, for the autonomous composition operator and for the inversion operator in Schauder spaces. The optimality of the differentiability theorems for the composition is indicated by means of an ‘inverse result’. A main point of this paper is that (higher order) ‘sharp’ differentiability theorems for the composition operator can be proved by approximating the operator by composition operators whose superposing function is a polynomial, an idea which may be employed in other function space settings.     

$\mathbb{C}^N$上的Fock空间上可逆加权复合算子的注记

本文表明$\mathbb{C}^N$上的Fock空间上有界可逆加权复合算子是酉算子的非零常数倍,这是关于$\mathbb{C}^N$上的Fock空间上可逆加权复合算子已有刻画的一个补充,也是对$\mathbb{C}$上的Fock空间上相应结果的推广.     

Semigroups of Operators on Hardy Spaces and Cocycles of Holomorphic Flows

In this paper the strongly continuous semigroups of bounded cocycle-weighted composition operators for holomorphic flows on Hardy spaces are characterized. In the process, an easy-to-check criterion for an operator to be a weighted composition operator is established.

Compactness of composition operators on BMOA

A function theoretic characterization is given of when a composition operator is compact on BMOA, the space of analytic functions on the unit disk having radial limits that are of bounded mean oscillation on the unit circle. When the symbol of the composition operator is univalent, compactness on BMOA is shown to be equivalent to compactness on the Bloch space, and a characterization in terms of the geometry of the image of the disk under the symbol of the operator results.

     

Numerical range of operators acting on Banach spaces

The aim of the paper is to propose a definition of numerical range of an operator on reflexive Banach spaces. Under this definition the numerical range will possess the basic properties of a canonical numerical range. We will determine necessary and sufficient conditions under which the numerical range of a composition operator on a weighted Hardy space is closed. We will also give some necessary conditions to show that when the closure of the numerical range of a composition operator on a small weighted Hardy space has zero.

本文研究了冯·诺依曼代数的可测算子的基本性质,定义了阶梯算子,证明了任意一个正可测算子可以由阶梯算子在定义域内按照强算子拓扑逼近,从而证明了任意一个可测算子可以由投影在定义域内按照强算子拓扑逼近.此外,还讨论了可测算子与有界算子的复合算子的可测性.     

H∞和Bergman空间之间的加权复合算子

本文研究H∞和Bergman空间之间加权复合算子uCφ的有界性或紧性,利用泛函分析及复分析的方法,获得了uCφ是有界算子或紧算子的充要条件在H∞和Bergman空间之间的范数估计,推广了各类解析函数空间上加权复合算子的相应理论.     

Composition operators of convolution and multiplication by a function

We study an operator which is the composition of the convolution operator and the operator of multiplication by a fixed entire function. Such operators find applications in the Fisher expansion problem, the Cauchy problem for convolution operators, etc.     

On composition operators onH p -spaces in several variables

In this paper, we prove that a composition operator onH ^p (B) is Fredholm if and only if it is invertible if and only if its symbol is an automorphism onB, and give the representation of the spectra of a class of composition operators. In addition, using composition operator, we discuss intertwining Toeplitz operators. Supported by NNSF and PDSF     

Representation theorem for local operators in the space of continuous and monotone functions

We prove that every locally defined operator mapping the space of nondecreasing continuous functions into itself is a Nemytskii composition operator.

Adjoints of rationally induced composition operators

We give an elementary proof of a formula recently obtained by Hammond, Moorhouse, and Robbins for the adjoint of a rationally induced composition operator on the Hardy space H² [Christopher Hammond, Jennifer Moorhouse, Marian E. Robbins, Adjoints of composition operators with rational symbol, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 341 (2008) 626-639]. We discuss some variants and implications of this formula, and use it to provide a sufficient condition for a rationally induced composition operator adjoint to be a compact perturbation of a weighted composition operator.
