We show that, under so called controllable growth conditions, any weak solution in the energy class of the semilinear parabolic system
is locally regular. Here, A is an elliptic matrix differential operator of order 2m. The result is proved by writing the system as a system with linear growth in u,... , ∇ m u but with “bad” coefficients and by means of a continuity method, where the time serves as parameter of continuity. We also give a partial generalization of previous work of the second author and von Wahl to Navier boundary conditions. The well-posedness of difference schemes approximating initial-boundary value problem for parabolic equations with a nonlinear power-type source is studied. Simple sufficient conditions on the input data are obtained under which the weak solutions of the differential and difference problems are globally stable for all 0 ⩽ t ⩽ +∞. It is shown that, if the condition fails, the solution can blow up (become infinite) in a finite time. A lower bound for the blow-up time is established. In all the cases, the method of energy inequalities is used as based on the application of the Chaplygin comparison theorem, Bihari-type inequalities, and their difference analogues. A numerical experiment is used to illustrate the theoretical results and verify two-sided blow-up time estimates.  相似文献

Existence, uniqueness and convergence of approximants of positive weak solutions for semilinear second order elliptic inequalities are obtained. The nonlinearities involved in these inequalities satisfy suitable upper or lower bound conditions or monotonicity conditions. The lower bound conditions are allowed to contain the critical Sobolev exponents. The methodology is to establish variational inequality principles for demicontinuous pseudo-contractive maps in Hilbert spaces by considering convergence of approximants and apply them to the corresponding variational inequalities arising from the semilinear second order elliptic inequalities. Examples on the existence, uniqueness and convergence of approximants of positive weak solutions of the semilinear second order elliptic inequalities are given.  相似文献

Exact single-wave and two-wave solutions of systems of equations of the Newell—Whitehead type are presented. The Painlevé test and calculations in the spirit of Hirota are used to construct these solutions.Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics. Boundary control problems for the linear, parabolic equations and a quadratic performance index are considered. The controls are allowed to be in the spaceL 2[OT;L2()], where is a boundary. Exploiting the semigroup approach, it is shown that optimal control belongs toL 2[OT;H1/2()] and, as a consequence, optimal trajectory belongs toL 1[OT;H1()]. This result is obtained for two kinds of domains. The first are the domains withC -boundary and the second are the domains being the parallelepipeds.  相似文献

We study the first vanishing time for solutions of the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem for the 2m-order (m ≥ 1) semilinear parabolic equation ${u_t + Lu + a(x) |u|^{q-1}u=0,\,0 < q < 1}We study the first vanishing time for solutions of the Cauchy–Dirichlet problem for the 2m-order (m ≥ 1) semilinear parabolic equation ut + Lu + a(x) |u|q-1u=0, 0 < q < 1{u_t + Lu + a(x) |u|^{q-1}u=0,\,0 < q < 1} with a(x) ≥ 0 bounded in the bounded domain W ì \mathbb RN{\Omega \subset \mathbb R^N}. We prove that if N 1 2m{N \ne 2m} and ò01 s-1 (meas\nolimits {x ? This paper deals with systems , , where the right hand side is a -valued, real analytic function. We prove that a solution of such a system can be continued across a straight line segment , if one prescribe certain nonlinear, mixed boundary conditions on , which are assumed to be real analytic too. This continuation will be constructed by solving certain hyperbolic initial boundary value problems, generalizing an idea of H. Lewy. We apply this result to surfaces of prescribed mean curvature and to minimal surfaces in Riemannian manifolds spanned into a regular Jordan curve : Supposing analyticity of all data, we show that both types of surfaces can be continued across . We consider the regularity of solutions of a system for nonlinear arbitrary order variational inequalities with some general concrete closed convex sets. The maximal function method and the convergence method are used, and a higher integrability of the derivatives is obtained.  相似文献

We consider the Fourier first initial-boundary value problem for a weakly coupled infinite system of semilinear parabolic differential-functional equations of reaction-diffusion type in arbitrary (bounded or unbounded) domain. The right-hand sides of the system are functionals of unknown functions of the Volterra type. Differential-integral equations give examples of such equations. To prove the existence and uniqueness of the solutions, we apply the monotone iterative method. The underlying monotone iterative scheme can be used for the computation of numerical solution.  相似文献

This work is concerned with the internal stabilization of the steady-state solutions to semilinear parabolic systems via finite-dimensional feedback controllers. The internal controller is active on a nonempty open subset and in one equation only.  相似文献

Consider a nontrivial smooth solution to a semilinear elliptic system of first order with smooth coefficients defined over an n-dimensional manifold. Assume the operator has the strong unique continuation property. We show that the zero set of the solution is contained in a countable union of smooth (n−2)-dimensional submanifolds. Hence it is countably (n−2)-rectifiable and its Hausdorff dimension is at most n−2. Moreover, it has locally finite (n−2)-dimensional Hausdorff measure. We show by example that every real number between 0 and n−2 actually occurs as the Hausdorff dimension (for a suitable choice of operator). We also derive results for scalar elliptic equations of second order. Oblatum 22-V-1998 & 26-III-1999 / Published online: 10 June 1999  相似文献
