New results of the neutron-induced fission experiments carried out at the neutron time-of-flight spectrometer GNEIS of the PNPI are given. Angular distributions of fission fragments from the neutron-induced fission of 233U and 209Bi nuclei have been measured in the energy range 1–200 MeV using position sensitive multiwire proportional counters as fission fragment detector. The recent improvements of the measurement and data processing procedures are described. The data on anisotropy of fission fragments deduced from the measured angular distributions are presented in comparison with the experimental data of other authors.  相似文献

The probability of high-energy γ-ray emission accompanying the spontaneous fission of 252Cf nuclei in the energy range of 5–60 MeV was measured experimentally. The γ rays were detected by a BGO detector with a size of ∅7.6 × 7.6 cm in coincidence with neutrons detected by an organic polystyrene-based scintillator with a size of ∅6.0 × 2.0 cm. To reject events associated with the cosmic background, we propose an original method that combines rapid digitizing of the pulse shape and the time-of-flight method.  相似文献

Signs of the ROT-effects in ternary fission of 233U and 235U experimentally defined by PNPI group are the same, whereas in binary fission defined by ITEP group are opposite. This contradiction cannot be explained by the errors in the experiments of both groups, since such instrumental effects would be too large not to be noticed. Therefore, it is necessary to find the answer to this problem in the differences of the ternary and binary fission mechanisms.  相似文献

An experiment devoted to studying neutron–neutron angular correlations in the slow-neutroninduced fission of 233U, 235U and 239Pu nuclei was performed. The experimentally determined angular dependence of the number of neutron–neutron coincidences was compared with the results of a Monte Carlo simulation for various values of the neutron-detection threshold in the range between 490 and 2080 keV. It was found that the experimental angular distributions in question can be described well under the assumption that 2% to 5% of all prompt fission neutrons are emitted isotropically in the laboratory frame. Probably, such neutrons can be interpreted as so-called scission neutrons directly associated with the nuclear-rupture instant. Energy distributions of this component were also obtained from the present analysis.  相似文献

A mechanism is proposed and calculations are performed to explain the true ternary fission of 236U nuclei experimentally observed via the missing mass method. The yield of the first excited fragment 72Ni after the emission of neutrons corresponds to the most probable 68Ni yield obtained in the experiment. The good agreement between the theoretical results and the experimental data means that the assumption of the sequential mechanism for true ternary fission is reasonable and that shell effects should be considered in the theoretical model.  相似文献

A technique for selecting the parameters required for describing the angular correlation function and finding their energy dependence has been developed. Joint analysis of a Doppler-broadened 4.44 MeV γ lineshape from the 9Be(α, nγ)12C reaction in the range 1.9–4.5 MeV of E α energies and with n- and γ-angular distributions was performed. The Doppler-broadened lineshapes were modeled and compared using data measured in the JET plasma experiment. Relativistic effects were analyzed.  相似文献

An experimental search for the superheavy hydrogen isotope 6H was conducted through studying the absorption of stopped π?-mesons by 9Be and 11B nuclei. A structure in the missing mass spectrum caused by the resonance states of 6H was observed in three reaction channels, namely, 9Be(π?, pd)X, 11B(π?, d3He)X, and 11B(π?, p4He)X. The parameters of the lowest state Er=6.6±0.7 MeV and Γ=5.5±2.0 MeV (Er is the resonance energy with respect to the disintegration into the triton and three neutrons) are evidence that 6H is a more weakly bound system than 4H and 5H. Three excited states of 6H were observed. Their resonance levels (E1r=10.7±0.7 MeV, Γ1r=4±2 MeV, E2r=15.3±0.7 MeV, Γ 2r=3±2 MeV, and E3r=21.3±0.4 MeV, Γ3r=3.5±1.0 MeV) are energetically capable of disintegrating into six free nucleons.  相似文献

Helium 5Hе states are sought in missing-mass (MM) spectra from reactions of the absorption of stopped pions: 10В(π?, dt)Х and 11В(π?, tt)Х. The experiment is conducted using the LANL accelerator equipped with a two-arm semiconductor charged-particle spectrometer. The parameters of the ground state agree with the literature data. The best fit for the first excited level is obtained at Er = 1.8(5) MeV and Γ = 4.7(7) MeV. Neither of the two reactions produce statistically significant evidence for the presence of highly excited (Ex ≥ 20 MeV) states of 5Hе.  相似文献

The processes of electron-positron annihilation into π0γ and into π′(1300)γ are considered within an extended NJL model. The intermediate vector mesons ρ 0, ω ρ′(1450), and ω(1420) are taken into account. The latter two mesons are treated as the first radial excited states. They are incorporated into the NJL model by means of a polynomial form factor. Numerical predictions for the cross-sections of these processes are received for the center-of-mass energies below 2 GeV. Our results for the π0γ production are in agreement with experimental data obtained in the energy region 600–1020 MeV.  相似文献

The experimental procedure and the results of determination of the effective resonance neutron absorption integrals of 238U and 158Gd for isolated UO2–Gd2O3 rods are presented. Measurements were performed using the activation method. UO2–Gd2O3 rods were irradiated in the neutron field with the Fermi spectrum formed at the center of the core of the F-1 research reactor at the National Research Centre Kurchatov Institute.  相似文献

The β--decay of 151Pr produced by the thermal neutron-induced fission of 235U has been studied using an on-line isotope separator. From an internal-conversion electron measurement with a Si(Li) detector, K-conversion coefficients were obtained for 20 γ-transitions. Spins and parities of 6 excited levels in 151Nd were newly determined from the deduced multipolarities: even parities for the 543 and 627 keV levels, odd parities for 250 and 599 keV, (3/2, 5/2)+ for 685 keV, and (1/2, 3/2)+ for 880 keV. The level structure was compared with the rotation-vibration coupling Nilsson model. The difference in the 332-and 326-keV transition energies from 178Ta decay is measured with a magnetic β spectrometer and a γ spectrometer. The energy of the 332-keV transition (E(332) = 331 607 ± 4 eV) and the energy of the 8 2 ? 1479-keV level in 178Hf (E(1479) = 1479001 ± 6 eV) are determined with high accuracy.  相似文献

The differential cross section of the elastic scattering of π±-mesons by the 9Ве nucleus at energies of 0.6 and 1.0 GeV are calculated using the Glauber theory of multiple scattering. The wave function of the 9Ве nucleus is obtained in the three-cluster 2α-n model. The sensitivity of the differential cross sections to the wave functions of a target nucleus, calculated with different intercluster interaction potentials, and to the contribution from different orders of scattering in Glauber operator Ω is studied.  相似文献

For the 156Gd and 170Yb nuclei, where the inversion of levels in the Kπ=1? bands is observed, the energies of rotational levels are calculated on the basis of the Coriolis interaction model for the states of two bands whose quantum numbers are Kπ=1?. New 0? levels are introduced in 170Yb, and the structure of 170Er is refined. The interaction parameters calculated for six nuclei are considered within the structure predicted by the quasiparticle-phonon model.  相似文献

An accurate calculation of the lowest negative electronic state of H 2 - (fixed nuclei) is reported using the CCSD(T) method and doubly augmented cc-pv5z basis set. Comparison has been made with the reference data by Senekowitsch et al. [Chem. Phys. Lett. 111 (1984) 211]. Owing to larger size of the basisset and inclusion of triple excitations, no vertical shift in this work is necessary to reproduce the asymptotics of H + H -. In addition, the effect of basis-set truncation is estimated, based on the complete-basis-set extrapolation method. Combining the Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka rule in the decay φ→ρπ→π+π?π0 with the ρ→4π decay amplitudes, we calculate the φ→2π+?π0 and φ→π+π?0 ones. The partial widths of the above φ decays are evaluated, and the excitation curves in e+e? annihilation are obtained, assuming reasonable particular relations among the parameters characterizing the anomalous terms of the HLS Lagrangian. The evaluated branching ratios Bφ→π+π?0 ≈ 2 × 10?7 and Bφ→2π+?π0 ≈ 7 × 10?7 are such that, with the luminosity L=500 pb?1 attained at DAΦNE φ factory, one may already possess about 1685 events of the decays φ→5π.  相似文献

Since the emission of γ grays unavoidably accompanies β decay, the final state after the β decay of a neutron includes a photon along with a proton, an electron, and an antineutrino, i.e., four particles, rather than three. Therefore, when only the electron and proton momenta are detected and the γ-ray momentum is not detected in an experiment, the antineutrino momentum cannot be uniquely reconstructed, and only its mean value over a γ-ray momentum distribution determined from corresponding calculations can be considered. The γ grays are significant for finding the asymmetry parameter B of the antineutrino angular distribution from experiments on the β decay of polarized neutrons, where the electron momentum p directed along the x axis and the projection of the proton momentum P x onto the x axis are detected, and the neutron polarization vector ξ is parallel or antiparallel to x. Since the γ rays are not detected in such experiments, the antineutrino kinematics are not uniquely specified by the observables p and P x and can be reconstructed only on the average, so that the antineutrino momentum distribution averaged over a γ-ray momentum distribution is considered. Thus, the exact value of B cannot be obtained from these experiments, but the true value of B can be estimated on the average by considering the mean (most likely) value 〈B〉 and the dispersion (rms deviation) ΔB. The unavoidable uncertainty in the estimate of B amounts to several percent and is thus significant for present-day experiments, which are intended to obtain the value of B to a very high accuracy of ∼ (0.1–1)%. If electromagnetic interactions are taken into account, measurements of the electron and proton momentum distributions can also be used to obtain g A, i.e., the axial β-decay amplitude, to high accuracy.
