提出了一种基于光纤环形腔的压力传感器系统.利用两个耦合器和一段单模光纤组成光纤环形腔,用光纤Bragg光栅作为传感元件,将测量的压力转化为光波在环形腔传输所对应的的衰落时间.当所施加的压力改变时,可得到压力与衰落时间成正比例关系,与理论推导一致.基于这种原理的压力测量系统具有结构简单,测量方便的优点.  相似文献

Biconical tapered single-mode fiber, which is common in many telecommunications components, offers an alternative sensor to typical optical fiber strain gauges that are susceptible to temperature and pressure effects and require expensive and sophisticated signal acquisition systems. Cavity ringdown spectroscopy, a technique commonly applied to high-sensitivity chemical analysis, offers detection sensitivity advantages that can be used to improve strain measurement with biconical tapers. Combining these two technologies in a spatially extended resonator, we demonstrate a minimum detectable change in ringdown time of 0.08%, corresponding to a minimum detectable displacement of 4.8 nm, and a sensitivity to strain as small as 79 n epsilon/square root(Hz) over a 5-mm taper length.  相似文献

A flexible and portable trace nitrogen dioxide sensor based on cavity ringdown spectroscopy using an optical fiber-coupled high-finesse cavity was successfully demonstrated. Tailoring the spatial mode matching condition of the core of an optical fiber and high-finesse external cavity allows for effective optical feedback into an antireflection-coated laser diode for stable resonant enhancement of the external cavity. The external cavity, which works as a ringdown cavity, could be remotely located from the light source and receiver section by only a single mode optical fiber. The sensitivity was found to be 1.0×10−7 cm−1 in a compact 1-cm3 ringdown cavity volume.  相似文献

Optical fiber sensors can be used to measure many different parameters including strain, temperature, pressure, displacement, electrical field, refractive index, rotation, position and vibrations. Among a variety of fiber sensors, fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) have numerous advantages over other optical fiber sensors. One of the major advantages of this type of sensors is attributed to wavelength-encoded information given by the Bragg grating. Since the wavelength is an absolute parameter, signal from FBG may be processed such that its information remains immune to power fluctuations along the optical path. This inherent characteristic makes the FBG sensors very attractive for application in harsh environments, “smart structures” and on-site measurements.This paper reviews the achievements about the FBG as a strain and temperature sensor and describes the potential applications of FBG sensors for applications in the field of geophysics and its expected development in the near future. The applications could include: rock deformation, fiber-optic geophone, optical based seismograph, vertical seismic profiling and structural monitoring of civil structures. Different techniques to detect strains and various applications will be reviewed and discussed. The problem of temperature–strain cross sensitivity, that is particularly difficult to eliminate, is addressed and approaches to overcome it are discussed.  相似文献

针对传统腔衰荡光谱技术浓度获取率低,提出基于双重锁定的连续波腔衰荡吸收光谱技术.通过波长调制一次谐波信号将激光器的频率锁定到C_2H_2吸收线上,同时使用PDH锁频技术将衰荡腔锁定到激光器上,从而避免了测量过程中激光器的频率漂移和腔长的抖动,使测量结果更加精确;并且,由于双重锁定,单次衰荡事件的发生率,也就是浓度信息的获取率只受衰荡时间以及重新锁定时间限制,在本试验系统中采集速率可以达到30 k Hz,可以实现对气体浓度的快速测量.为了提高信噪比,采用Kalman滤波技术,对浓度信息进行实时处理,有效抑制了噪声,根据阿伦方差分析,探测灵敏度可以达到4×10~(-9)cm~(-1)(2 s平均).  相似文献

A new distributed sensor for detecting pressure variations caused by distant sources has been developed. The instrument reduces noise due to air turbulence in the infrasound band by averaging pressure along a line by means of monitoring strain in a long tubular diaphragm with an optical fiber interferometer. Above 1 Hz, the optical fiber infrasound sensor (OFIS) is less noisy than sensors relying on mechanical filters. Records collected from an 89-m-long OFS indicate a new low noise limit in the band from 1 to 10 Hz. Because the OFIS integrates pressure variations at light-speed rather than the speed of sound, phase delays of the acoustical signals caused by the sensor are negligible. Very long fiber-optic sensors are feasible and hold the promise of better wind-noise reduction than can be achieved with acoustical-mechanical systems.  相似文献

解决应变和温度的交叉敏感,实现应变和温度同时测量一直是光纤光栅传感器研究的关键问题。从应变和温度交叉敏感的物理机制出发,较为全面地介绍了几种主要解决方案:双波长矩阵法、2个包层直径不同的FBG法、啁啾光栅法等。并且基于双波长矩阵法,提出了一种基于管式弹性应变敏感元件的光纤光栅传感器结构,很好地实现了温度150℃,压力20MPa的同时区分测量,其温度灵敏度为0.02nm/℃。解决了温度和应变同时区分测量这一技术难题。  相似文献

传感元件与复合材料的一体化是智能结构研究的最终目标之一。设计一种具有自诊断功能的标准化、模块化光纤智能夹层系统,正是实现这种一体化最有潜力的技术途径。采用聚酰亚胺薄膜制作了基于光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)传感器的光纤光栅智能夹层,对智能夹层中光纤布拉格光栅传感器的应变、温度特性进行了标定试验,并建立了基于光纤布拉格光栅传感器光纤光栅智能夹层的应变、温度测量模型。试验表明,智能夹层内布拉格光栅波长偏移与应变、温度之间具有良好的线性关系。不过在温度测量时,必须考虑被埋人结构的热膨胀效应。利用光纤光栅智能夹层内光纤布拉格光栅传感器网络和先进信息处理技术,可以建立结构损伤主动、在线和实时监测系统。  相似文献

采用全矢量有限元方法,理论上分析侧向压力对高双折射微结构光纤双折射特性的影响,与其他报道中采用流体静压力来研究微结构光纤的双折射变化有所不同。研究结果表明,在波长600~1700 nm范围内,沿微结构光纤慢轴和快轴的侧向压力所引起的光纤相双折射和模双折射的变化并不一致。此外,沿微结构光纤的慢轴和快轴的侧向压力对微结构光纤的相双折射压力灵敏度和模双折射压力灵敏度的影响也不同。该研究结果对于微结构光纤的设计、微结构光纤传感器尤其是多维光纤传感器具有很大的指导意义。  相似文献

A novel sensitive technique for the determination of losses in fiber cavities is presented. The method is based on the cavity ringdown scheme implemented in silica-based single-mode fibers. Bending losses of fiber cavities of different lengths have been measured showing all an oscillating behavior with respect to the curvature radius of the fiber as predicted by a theoretical model. The best minimum detectable absorbance per cavity pass achieved by this new method is 1.72×10−3 dB within a 10 m-long cavity. This limit suffices well for an accurate determination of optical bending losses even in bend-insensitive fibers. Furthermore, the comparison of the measured bending losses with a theoretical model allows the extraction of different fiber parameters. Good agreement has been found between the experimentally derived parameters and literature data.  相似文献

提出了一种用阵列波导光栅复用光纤微机电系统法布里-珀罗压力传感器的方法,实现了法布里-珀罗压力传感器的准分布式测量。传感器基于法布里-珀罗腔干涉的原理,采用微机电系统技术加工制作,用双波长方法解调干涉信号,利用传感器对两个不同波长光的反射率的比值与压力的单值关系确定所施加压力的大小,用阵列波导光栅实现传感器复用。理论分析与实验验证了传感器解调和复用的基本原理。实验结果表明:在压力的线性测量范围(0~1.5 MPa)内,系统的灵敏度(相对反射率比值/压力)可达到0.02026 MPa-1,测量结果具有较好的线形性,相对反射率比值的标准偏差小于3×10-4。该系统可以补偿传感器光网中和波长无关的变动引起的误差,具有好的线性、灵敏度和精度,复用能力强且复用传感器间无串扰。  相似文献

A simple sensor system for high spatial resolution distributed strain field measurement is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The fiber loop ringdown technique combined with a linear chirped fiber Bragg grating is used to realize the high spatial resolution. A proof-of-concept distributed strain sensor with 2?mm spatial resolution is realized. The sensor network is also explored and researched experimentally. The proposed technique suggests a broad range of applications for real-time distributed physical parameter sensing, such as strain or temperature.  相似文献

提出了一种新型的光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)水声传感探头结构以及光纤光栅传感信号的自解调方法。利用一对匹配光栅构成推挽结构,实现了传感-解调的合二为一,大大地减小了系统的复杂度;并通过筒状弹性体结构,解决了裸光纤光栅测量水声信号的灵敏度过小的问题,并具有温度补偿作用。仿真与初步实验结果表明,该水听器探头的测量动态范围超过100 dB,在100~200 dB re 1μPa的水声压范围内,测量灵敏度为0.36 nm/Mpa。  相似文献

The success of laser-based trace gas sensing techniques crucially depends on the availability and performance of tunable laser sources combined with appropriate detection schemes. Besides near-infrared diode lasers, continuously tunable midinfrared quantum cascade lasers and nonlinear optical laser sources are preferentially employed today. Detection schemes are based on sensitive absorption measurements and comprise direct absorption in multi-pass cells as well as photoacoustic and cavity ringdown techniques in various configurations. We illustrate the performance of several systems implemented in our laboratory. These include time-resolved multicomponent traffic emission measurements with a mobile CO2-laser photoacoustic system, a diode-laser based cavity ringdown device for measurements of impurities in industrial process control, isotope ratio measurements with a difference frequency (DFG) laser source combined with balanced path length detection, detection of methylamines for breath analysis with both a near-IR diode laser and a DFG source, and finally, acetone measurements with a heatable multipass cell intended for vapor phase studies on doping agents in urine samples. Theoretical quantitative considerations as well as experimental data are presented based on absorption population depletion coupled with cavity ringdown spectroscopy. The absorbing number densities inside the cavity are determined by numerical integration of the coupled rate equations. The number of photons involved in absorption, cavity losses due to mirror reflectivity and stimulated emission are taken into account. The principle is to monitor a first transition by cavity ringdown spectroscopy while a second transition, with a state in common, is resonantly excited by the decaying radiation of different frequency also trapped inside the optical cavity. A numerical example is given for atomic lines of neon and the measurements carried out in a supersonic slit-jet expansion discharge demonstrate the feasibility of the technique. The technique is also proven to work with two resonant transitions of C2. Translational velocity of the jet modifying the rate equations is included in the model.  相似文献

The uses of optical fibers are numerous, and over the past few decades, they have extended from optical fiber communications to a wide variety of sensing applications. In particular, fiber Bragg grating(FBG) sensors inscribed in single-mode optical fibers offer significant advantages over more conventional electrical sensors and have been successfully deployed in many different industries. In this Review, we review the applications of intrinsic FBG pressure and flow sensors in oil and gas and the deployment of FBG sensing networks in railways.The promising prospect of using polymer FBGs in wearable medical devices is also described.  相似文献

We demonstrate a three-dimensional (3-D) distributed refractometer that measures refractive index in a small volume. The sensor is based on an evanescent-wave fiber Bragg grating that is interrogated by low-coherence spectral interferometry. The measurement can be performed on a short time scale without the need for a mechanical scan. The new sensor was used to simultaneously measure glucose concentration in several droplets along a single sensor and to interrogate the time-dependent evaporation process of a water droplet. The new measurement technique might enable novel 3-D distributed sensors to be developed and multiple discrete measurements to be made in a small volume.  相似文献

Pressure and temperature are two important parameters in reservoir engineering. The fiber optic sensors can be used for permanent downhole monitoring. In this paper, we propose an extrinsic fiber Fabry-Perot interferometer (EFPI) sensor for pressure measurement with low sensitivity variation. The pressure sensitivity of EFPI sensor and of the fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors have been measured. The experimental pressure sensitivity for EFPI and FBG sensors are measured to be 2.75 × 10−8 1/kPa and 1.52 × 10−8 1/kPa, respectively. The temperature cross-sensitivity problem of the EFPI sensor has been solved by a new technique. The temperature sensitivity of EFPI sensor has been decreased to 1.2 × 10−6/°C, while the temperature sensitivity of non-compensated EFPI sensor has been measured to be 16.4 × 10−6/°C. The results show that the EFPI sensor has a higher pressure sensitivity and good capability to decrease temperature sensitivity in comparison to FBG sensor.  相似文献
