We present analytical formulae for the first and second derivatives of the Helmholtz free energy of non-relativistic ideal Fermi gas. Important thermodynamic quantities such as heat capacity, sound velocity, heat capacity ratio, and others are explicitly expressed through the derivatives. We demonstrate correct ideal Boltzmann gas and low-temperature Fermi gas asymptotes and derive corrections to thermodynamic functions for these limiting cases. Numerical computations of thermodynamic properties of ideal Fermi gas can be accurately performed using the developed freely available Python module ifg .  相似文献

用量子统计与数值模拟相结合的方法,在广义外势中相对论费米系统的热力学量的基础上,研究硬球势中相对论费米气体的热力学性质.得到了考虑相对论效应时系统的内能和热容量的解析表达式,分析了相对论效应对内能和热容量的影响.研究表明:与非相对论比较,相对论费米气体的内能和热容量更高;相对论特征量越大,热容量的转折温度越低;随着温度的升高,特征量越大,内能就越大.  相似文献

Semirelativistic self-consistent calculations of the electronic structure of MoSi2 are performed within the framework of the linearized augmented-plane-wave (APW) method in the local density functional approximation. The results of investigations of the band structure, the Fermi surface, and electrical characteristics (effective cyclotron masses, the conductivity anisotropy constant, the mean free path, and the coefficient γ of the heat capacity component linear in temperature) are reported. The Fermi surface consists of two sheets, namely, an electron sheet and a hole sheet. The extreme sectional areas of the Fermi surface agree well with the experimental data on the de Haas-van Alphen effect. The results of first-principles calculations need no additional correction.  相似文献

We compare strategies for evaporative and sympathetic cooling of two-species Fermi-Bose mixtures in single-color and two-color optical dipole traps. We show that in the latter case a large heat capacity of the bosonic species can be maintained during the entire cooling process. This could allow one to efficiently achieve a deep Fermi degeneracy regime having at the same time a significant thermal fraction for the Bose gas, crucial for a precise thermometry of the mixture. Two possible signatures of a superfluid phase transition for the Fermi species are discussed.  相似文献

A multiple wave vector (Q) reconstruction of the Fermi surface is shown to yield a profoundly different electronic structure to that characteristic of single wave vector reconstruction, despite their proximity in energy. We consider the specific case in which ordering is generated by Q(x)=[2πa,0] and Q(y)=[0,2πb] (in which a=b=1/4)-similar to those identified in neutron diffraction and scanning tunneling microscopy experiments-and more generally show that an isolated pocket adjacent to the nodal point k(nodal)=[±π/2,±π/2] is a protected feature of such a multiple-Q model, potentially corresponding to the nodal "Fermi arcs" observed in photoemission and the small size of the electronic heat capacity found in high magnetic fields-importantly, containing electron carriers which can yield negative Hall and Seebeck coefficients observed in high magnetic fields.  相似文献

We present the results of measurements of low-temperature heat capacity, as well as electrical and magnetic properties of Heusler alloys Fe2VAl and Fe2CrAl prepared in different ways using various heat treatment regimes. The density of states at the Fermi level is estimated. A contribution of ferromagnetic clusters in the low-temperature heat capacity of the Fe2VAl alloy is detected. The change in the number and volume of clusters as a result of annealing of an alloy affects the behavior of their low-temperature heat capacity, resistivity, and magnetic properties.  相似文献

我们已观察到在120K时Eu_(1.2)Mo_6S_8的热容量、电阻及霍尔系数的反常规象,并确定为一种马氏体结构的相变特征;这种马氏体结构相变产生于一种模糊的电荷密度波的转变,后者在部分费米面上造成能隙。 费米面出现部分能隙说明了在常压下直10mK不出现超导的原因。高压抑制了电荷密度波的转变。从费米面上状态的超导性和这种转变相互竞争出发,计算得到的超导转变温度对压力的依赖性,与实验结果非常一致。在低温时,临界场随温度的变化非常强烈,这种变化已用Jaccarino-Peter补偿效应进行了解释。在高压时与理论的预言比较,EuMo_6S_8的临界场非常高,至少与现有任何的超导体一样高。压力为14Kbar、温度低于2K时在10T到15T范围内已观察到低场下电阻态到超导态的转变,这就是称之为场诱导超导性的一种新效应。  相似文献

基于低温下量子系统的相关实验多是在体积、能量和粒子数都可变的外场束缚下进行的事实, 由体积、能量和粒子数可变的完全开放系统的统计分布(N-E-V分布)研究了弱磁场中弱相互作用费米系统的热力学性质. 首先求出了一般情况下由费米积分表示的内能和热容的解析表达式. 在此基础上, 又给出了在低温极限条件下内能与热容的解析表达式和数值计算结果, 并将N-E-V分布(粒子数密度变化)的结果与赝势法(粒子数密度不变)的结果进行了比较. 结果表明: N-E-V分布方法的计算结果总是补偿赝势法计算结果的过度偏差. 由N-E-V 分布方法所得结果最特异之处在于: 在低温条件下, 弱磁场中弱相互作用费米系统存在一相变温度tc, 其正处于费米系统发生玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚(BEC)和费米原子形成库珀对的超流状态(BCS)相变及BEC-BCS跨越的温度范围内, 且不随反映弱相互作用大小和特征的散射长度a (a<0引力, a>0斥力)变化, 但随弱磁场的加强而降低, 即弱磁场可调节该相变温度. 磁场为零时, 相变温度最高, 为费米温度的0.184倍.  相似文献

Relativistic Hartree-Fock equations are solved for an infinite system of nucleons and mesons. At high densities there exists a phase transition from a Fermi “sphere” to a Fermi “shell”, characterized by a discontinuity in the heat capacity. Systematic measurements of the magnetocaloric effect, heat capacity, and magnetic torque under a high magnetic field up to 35 T are performed in the spin density wave (SDW) phase of a quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor (TMTSF)2ClO4. In the SDW phase above 26 T, where the quantum Hall effect is broken, rapid oscillations (ROs) in these thermodynamic quantities are observed, which provides clear evidence of the density-of-state (DOS) oscillation near the Fermi level. The resistance is semiconducting and the heat capacity divided by temperature is extrapolated to zero at 0 K in the SDW phase, showing that all the energy bands are gapped, and there is no DOS at the Fermi level. The results show that the ROs are ascribed to the DOS oscillation of the quasiparticle excitation.  相似文献

The heat capacity and magnetization of a fluid 3He monolayer adsorbed on graphite plated with a bilayer of HD have been measured in the temperature range 1-60 mK. Approaching the density at which the monolayer solidifies into a sqrt[7]xsqrt[7] commensurate solid, we observe an apparent divergence of the effective mass and magnetization corresponding to a T=0 Mott-Hubbard transition between a 2D Fermi liquid and a magnetically disordered solid. The observations are consistent with the Brinkman-Rice-Anderson-Vollhardt scenario for a metal-insulator transition. We observe a leading order T2 correction to the linear term in heat capacity.  相似文献

We carry out measurements of the two-dimensional angular correlation of the positron annihilation radiation (2D-ACAR) to reconstruct the complex multisheet Fermi surface (FS) of the cubic rare-earth (RE) compound TmGa3. We discover a correlation between the antiferromagnetic structures and the nesting of the FS along the [110] directions. Moreover, we propose methods to estimate the density of states at the Fermi energy ( EF) and the electronic contribution to the specific heat [we obtain N(EF) = 13.6 states/Ryd cell and gamma = 2.4 mJ/mole K2].  相似文献

The heat capacity of three single-crystal samples of La1?x SrxMnO3 (x=0, 0.2, and 0.3) is measured in the temperature range 4–400 K. It is found that the heat capacity undergoes abrupt changes due to the transitions from the antiferromagnetic phase to the paramagnetic phase (x=0) and from the ferromagnetic phase to the paramagnetic phase (x=0.2 and 0.3). The phonon contribution to the heat capacity and the Debye characteristic temperatures for the La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 sample are determined over a wide range of temperatures. The electronic density of states at the Fermi level is evaluated. It is demonstrated that an increase in the strontium concentration x brings about an increase in the electronic density of states at the Fermi level. The contributions of spin waves to the heat capacity and the entropy are estimated under the assumption that the phonon spectrum remains unchanged upon doping with Sr.  相似文献

We study the thermal fluctuations of anisotropic order parameters (OP) in layered superconductors. In particular, for copper oxides and a d-wave OP, we present some experimental consequences of fluctuations in the direction normal to the layers. It is shown that the c-axis penetration depth λc can have a “disorder-like” quadratic temperature dependence at low temperature. The fluctuations are analyzed in the framework of a Lawrence-Doniach model with an isotropic Fermi surface. Anisotropies pin the orientation of the OP to the crystallographic axes of the lattice. Then we study an extended t-J model that fits Fermi surface data of bilayers YBCO and BSCCO. This leads to a d-wave OP with two possible orientations and, including the thermal fluctuations, yields the announced temperature dependence of λc. Furthermore a reservoir layer is introduced. It implies a finite density of states at the Fermi energy which is successfully compared to conductance and specific heat measurements.  相似文献

We report a systematic angle-resolved photoemission study on Na(x)CoO2 for a wide range of Na concentrations (0.3 < or = x < or = 0.72). In all the metallic samples at different x, we observed (i) only a single holelike Fermi surface centered around gamma and (ii) its area changes with x according to the Luttinger theorem. We also observed a surface state that exhibits a larger Fermi surface area. The e'(g) band and the associated small Fermi surface pockets near the K points predicted by band calculations are found to sink below the Fermi energy in a manner almost independent of the doping and temperature.  相似文献

The specific heat of superfluid 3He, disordered by a silica aerogel, is found to have a sharp discontinuity marking the thermodynamic transition to superfluidity at a temperature reduced from that of bulk 3He. The magnitude of the discontinuity is also suppressed. This disorder effect can be understood from the Ginzburg-Landau theory which takes into account elastic quasiparticle scattering suppressing both the transition temperature and the amplitude of the order parameter. We infer that the limiting temperature dependence of the specific heat is linear at low temperatures in the disordered superfluid state, consistent with predictions of gapless excitations everywhere on the Fermi surface.  相似文献
