Nanocrystalline Au and Ag in multilayer thin film form with Au/Ag/Au structure were prepared by high pressure (∼40 Pa) d.c. sputtering techniques. The Ag concentrations in AgxAu1-x films were changed from x = 0 to 1. These multilayer films with varying Ag concentration showed significant changes in microstructures obtained from TEM and XRD analyses. The optical absorption spectra of these multilayer films showed a single plasmon band confirming the formation of Au-Ag alloy. We ascribe this alloying to the interfacial reactions in nanophase limited at the Au-Ag interface. The red-shift and broadening of the plasmon bands with the increase in silver concentration could be associated to the increase in size of the nanoparticles and its distribution. The observed red shift in the plasmon band may be associated with the change in electronic structure at the Au-Ag interface due to configuration mixing of the atomic energy levels of Au and Ag. The associative charm particles production in nucleon-nucleon collisions N + N↦Λcc) + ˉD + N, is described in a general way and the spin and isospin structure of the corresponding matrix elements are derived. Using an analogy with strange-particle (ΛK) production, the D-meson exchange model is considered in detail. Estimations of the energy behavior of the threshold cross-sections show a large dependence on the form of the phenomenological hadron form factors and indicate that, at threshold, the cross-section is three orders of magnitude smaller than for strange-particle production. The class of nonlinear evolution equations (NLEE) - gauge equivalent to the N-wave equations related to the simple Lie algebra are derived and analyzed. They are written in terms of (x, t) ∈ satisfying r = rank nonlinear constraints. The corresponding Lax pairs and the time evolution of the scattering data are found. The Zakharov-Shabat dressing method is appropriately modified to construct their soliton solutions. Thermal conductivity κ xx(T) under a field is investigated in d x2 - y2-wave superconductors and isotropic s-wave superconductors by the linear response theory, using a microscopic wave function of the vortex lattice states. To study the origin of the different field dependence of κxx(T) between higher and lower temperature regions, we analyze the spatially-resolved thermal conductivity around a vortex at each temperature, which is related to the spectrum of the local density of states. We also discuss the electric conductivity in the same formulation for a comparison. Received 8 December 2001 and Received in final form 20 March 2002 Published online 6 June 2002  相似文献

NMR of laser-polarized xenon is used to probe the dissolution behaviour of the noble gas in different liquids. The dissolution and self-relaxation rates are extracted via a macroscopic model, and comparison of the decay rate of the xenon magnetization in deuterated and non-deuterated solvent pairs allows the determination of the pure dipole-dipole contribution to relaxation. A transient convective effect, tentatively assigned to the xenon concentration gradient, is observed and characterized by diffusion encoding MRI experiments. The flow of xenon penetrates inside the solvent near the walls of the NMR tube, the longitudinal images showing a “” shape, the transverse ones a “O” shape. This convection effect has implications for delivery conditions of laser-polarized xenon in continuous flow experiments and magnetic resonance imaging. Based on the newly constructed Einstein, Podolsky and Rosen (EPR) entangled state representation we introduce macroscopic classical functions associated with atomic coherent state τ with angular momentum value j. These functions are proportional to the ordinary one-variable Hermite polynomials of order 2j. The corresponding Wigner quasiprobability function for τ in phase space is also derived which turns out to be a two-variable Hermite polynomial H 2j, 2j. In so doing, a new classical-quantum correspondence scheme for angular momentum system is established. A general spin-state model and a qualitative physical picture have been proposed for a class of lately synthesized layered cobalt oxides (LCOs) by means of density functional calculations. As the plane corrugation of the cobalt-oxygen layer decreases, the LCOs evolve from a high-spin (HS) superexchange-coupled antiferromagnetic (AFM) insulator to an almost-HS AFM/ferromagnetic (FM) competing system where the FM coupling is mediated via the p-d exchange by an increasing amount of delocalized pdσ holes having mainly the planar O 2p character. It is tentatively suggested that the delocalized holes more than 0.3 per CoO2 basal square are likely necessary for the insulator-metal and/or AFM-FM transitions in the corrugation-weakened LCOs. A phase control may be realized in LCOs by varying the plane corrugation (thus modifying the hole concentration) through an ionic-size change of the neighboring layers on both sides of the cobalt-oxygen layer. In addition, a few experiments are suggested for a check of the present model and picture. Received 28 July 2002 / Received in final form 10 October 2002 Published online 31 December 2002  相似文献

The dielectric permittivity ε - i of SrTi 18O 3 (STO18) is studied under a dc electric field E as a function of the temperature, T. In ε vs. T, a double-peak is found when 0 < E < 30 KV/m. While the peak at high-T is attributed to the smeared ferroelectric phase transition, the low-T one is induced by domain wall motion. The transverse Ising model including an external homogeneous and quenched random-fields is successfully used to describe both the smeared phase transition and the domain wall response in the low-T domain state. The calculations are in good agreement with the experimental results. Received 4 January 2002 / Received in final form 25 March 2002 Published online 19 July 2002  相似文献

We have studied the scaling properties of diffusion fronts by numerical calculations based on the mean field approach in the context of a lattice gas model, performed in a triangular lattice. We find that the height-height correlation function scales with time t and length l as C(l, t) ≈l α f (t/l α/β) with α = 0.62±0.01 and β = 0.39±0.02. These exponent values are identical to those characterising the roughness of the diffusion fronts evolving through a square lattice [1,2], thus confirming their universality. Adsorption of ideal polymers with stiff backbone onto a flat surface is considered theoretically. Both scaling approach and quantitative theory are developed. We predict a self-similar monomer concentration profile c(x) ∼ x -4/3 near the surface (when the distance to the surface x is much smaller than the chain persistence length l /2). The typical conformation of a weakly adsorbed chain can be viewed as a sequence of alternating flat (2-dimensional) trains of wormlike short loops (flat blobs) and coil-like (3-dimensional) loops forming a triple-layer structure: contact layer (x < Δ) of adsorbed fragments virtually laid on the surface, proximal layer (Δ < x < l) of flat blobs, and more dilute distal corona layer (x > l). Here Δ defines the range of monomer/surface attraction, Δ ≪ l. The adsorption transition is continuous. However, its relative width is small (T * is the adsorption temperature, ΔT is the relevant temperature interval): ∼ , i.e. a discontinuous transition in the limit Δ/l↦ 0. The relationship between a microscopic parameter p, that is related to the probability of choosing a mechanism of deposition, and the stochastic equation for the interface's evolution is studied for two different models. It is found that in one model, that is similar to ballistic deposition, the corresponding stochastic equation can be represented by a Kardar-Parisi-Zhang (KPZ) equation where both λ and ν depend on p in the following way: ν(p) = νp and λ(p) = λp 3/2. Furthermore, in the other studied model, which is similar to random deposition with relaxation, the stochastic equation can be represented by an Edwards-Wilkinson (EW) equation where ν depends on p according to ν(p) = νp 2. It is expected that these results will help to find a framework for the development of stochastic equations starting from microscopic details of growth models. When a glassy polymer film is formed by evaporation, the region near the free surface is polymer rich and becomes glassy first, as noticed long ago by Scriven et al. We discuss the thickness of this “crust” and the time interval where it is present --before freezing of the whole film. We argue that the crust is under mechanical tension, and should form some cracks. This may be the source of the roughness observed on the final, dry films, when the solvent vapor pressure is high (and leads to thin crusts). Received 13 November 2001  相似文献

We derive a realistic microscopic model for doped colossal magnetoresistance manganites, which includes the dynamics of charge, spin, orbital and lattice degrees of freedom on a quantum mechanical level. The model respects the SU(2) spin symmetry and the full multiplet structure of the manganese ions within the cubic lattice. Concentrating on the hole doped domain ( 0≤x≤0.5) we study the influence of the electron-lattice interaction on spin and orbital correlations by means of exact diagonalisation techniques. We find that the lattice can cause a considerable suppression of the coupling between spin and orbital degrees of freedom and show how changes in the magnetic correlations are reflected in dynamic phonon correlations. In addition, our calculation gives detailed insights into orbital correlations and demonstrates the possibility of complex orbital states. Electronic spectra of uracil in its diketo (lactam) form and five enol (lactim) tautomeric forms have been investigated by means of combined density functional and configuration interaction methods. We have simulated the effects of hydrogen bonding with a protic solvent by recomputing the spectrum of uracil in the presence of two, four, or six water molecules. Geometries of the electronic ground state and several low-lying excited states have been optimized. Spin-orbit coupling has been determined for correlated wavefunctions employing a non-empirical spin-orbit mean-field approach. In accord with experiment, we find the diketo tautomer to be the most stable one. The calculations confirm that the first absorption band arises from the 1( π↦π*) S 0S 2 excitation. The experimentally observed vibrational structure in this band originates from a breathing mode of the six ring. Complexation with water molecules is seen to cause a significant blue shift of n↦π* excitations while leaving π↦π* excitations nearly uninfluenced. Computed radiative lifetimes are presented for the experimentally known weak phosphorescence from the π↦π* excited T1 state. Among the uracil lactim tautomers, one is particularly interesting from a spectroscopic point of view. In this tautomer, the π↦π* excitation gives rise to the S1 state. It has been shown earlier [3,6] that matter waves which are known to lie typically in the range of a few angstrom, can also manifest in the macrodomain with a wave length of a few centimeters, for electrons propagating along a magnetic field. This followed from the predictions of a probability amplitude theory by the author [1,2] in the classical macrodomain of the dynamics of charged particles in a magnetic field. It is shown in this paper that this case constitutes only a special case of a generic situation whereby composite systems such as atoms and molecules in their highly excited internal states, can exhibit matter wave manifestation in macro and mesodomains, in one-dimensional scattering. The wave length of these waves is determined, not by the mass of the particle as in the case of the de Broglie wave, but by the frequency ω, of the classical orbital motion of the internal state in the correspondence limit, and is given by a nonquantal expression, λ = 2πv/ω, v being the velocity of the particle. For the electrons in a magnetic field the frequency corresponds to the gyrofrequency, Ω and the nonquantal wave length is given by λ = 2πv || /Ω; v || being the velocity of electrons along the magnetic field. Three-dimensional motion of a slender vortex tube, embedded in an inviscid incompressible fluid, is investigated under the localized induction approximation for the Euler equations. Using the method of matched asymptotic expansions in a small parameter ε, the ratio of core radius to curvature radius, the velocity of a vortex filament is derived to O3), whereby the influence of elliptical deformation of the core due to the self-induced strain is taken into account. It is found that there is an integrable line in the core whose evolution obeys a summation of the first and third terms of the localized induction hierarchy. Electron scattering Coulomb form factors for the single-particle quadrupole transitions in p-shell and sd-shell nuclei have been studied. Core polarization effects are included through a microscopic theory that includes excitations from the core orbits up to higher orbits with 2ω excitations. The modified surface delta interaction is adopted as a residual interaction. The results are discussed for the ( 1p 1/2 -1↦1p 3/2 -1) proton transition in 15N, ( 1d 5/2↦2s 1/2) neutron transition in 17O and ( 1d 3/2 -1↦2s 1/2 -1) proton transition in 39K. The inclusion of core polarization effects modifies the form factors markedly and describes the experimental data very well in both the absolute strength and the momentum transfer dependence. We study the fluctuation-induced magnetotransport of a two-dimensional superconductor in the quasiballistic regime, where ξ GL(T) ≪ ℓ (ℓ is the electron mean free path and ξ GL(T) is the Ginzburg-Landau coherence length). The magnetoconductivity is evaluated in the nonlocal fluctuation regime thereby extending the existing theory valid in the local limit. We show that the Maki-Thompson (MT) and density-of-states (DOS) contributions strongly compensate each other and their sum is negligible in comparison with the Aslamazov-Larkin (AL) term. The hierarchy of the fluctuation contributions to the magnetoconductivity in the high-field limit is also qualitatively discussed. We consider a porous solid covered with a water film (or with a drop) in situations where the liquid is pumped in, either spontaneously (if the porous medium is hydrophilic) or mechanically (by an external pump). The dynamics of dewetting is then strongly modified. We analyse a few major examples, a) horizontal films, which break at a certain critical thickness, b) the “modified Landau-Levich problem” where a porous plate moves up from a bath and carries a film: aspiration towards the plate limits the height H reached by the film, c) certain situation where the hysteresis of contact angles is important.
