New CN donor ligands incorporating pyridine or benzoimidazole N donors and a sterically hindered cyclometalating aromatic core featuring a polyphenylenephenyl, fluoranthene, or triphenylene segment are prepared and successfully converted into heteroleptic iridium(III) cyclometalated complexes with acetylacetone auxiliary ligands. The X-ray structure of the complex, derived from a ligand containing a fluoranthene fragment, has been solved to unveil the corresponding structure. The results clearly demonstrate that the nature of the sigma-coordinating ligand segment plays a key role in dictating the emission profile and peak position, such that the emission hue has been successfully tuned ranging from green to red. Supplementary support of this viewpoint is also rendered by computational (DFT) approaches. Electroluminescent devices fabricated using a complex as dopant in the PVK matrix were found to exhibit bright greenish yellow emission with promising device characteristics (maximum brightness 26450 cd m(-2) at 30 V and a maximum current efficiency of 40 cd A(-1)).  相似文献

Substituents can induce dramatic changes in the photoluminescence properties of N,O-chelated boron complexes. Specifically, the boron complexes of 2-(benzothiazol-2-yl)phenols become bright deep blue- and orange-red-emitting materials depending on amino substituents at the 5- and 4-positions of 2-(benzothiazol-2-yl)phenol, respectively. Absorption and emission data show that the resulting boron complexes have little or small overlap between the absorption and emission spectra and, furthermore, X-ray crystal structures for both the blue and orange-red complexes indicate the absence of π-π stacking interaction in the crystal-packing structures. These features endow the boron complexes with bright and strong photoluminescence in the solid state, which distinguishes itself from the typical boron complexes of dipyrromethenes (BODIPYs). A preliminary study indicates that the blue complexes have promising electro-optical characteristics as dopant in an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) device and show chromaticity close to an ideal deep blue. The substituent effects on the photoluminescent properties may be used to tune the desired emission wavelength of related boron or other metal complexes.  相似文献

A new class of bifunctional architecture combining the useful functions of superparamagnetism and terbium complex luminescence into one material has been prepared via two main steps by a modified St?ber method and the layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly technique. The obtained bifunctional nanocomposites exhibit superparamagnetic behavior, high fluorescence intensity, and color purity. The architecture has been characterized by field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-vis absorption and emission spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometry.  相似文献

Four new luminescent organoboron complexes have been synthesized and fully characterized. These compounds are four-coordinate boron chelated by either 8-hydroxyquinolato (q) or functionalized 8-hydroxylquinolato ligands, including BPh2(5-(1-naphthyl)-q) (1), BPh2(5-(2-benzothienyl)-q) (2), B(2-benzothienyl)2q (3), and B(2-benzothienyl)2(2-Me-q) (4). All four compounds have a tetrahedral geometry as established by X-ray diffraction analyses. In solution, compounds 1-4 have an emission maximum at 534, 565, 501, and 496 nm, respectively, at room temperature. They emit similar colors in the solid states without red shifts of the emission band due to the lack of significant intermolecular interactions in the crystal lattices. The substituent group at C5 or C2 position of the 8-hydroxyquinolato ligand has been observed to have a significant impact on the emission energy and the emission quantum efficiency of the boron complexes. Molecular orbital calculations (Gaussian 98) showed that the electronic transition of 1 and 2 is a pi-pi* transition centered on the functionalized 8-hydroxyquinolato group and the electronic transition of 3 and 4 is an interligand charge transfer from the 2-benzothienyl ligand to the hydroxyquinolato ring. A double-layer electroluminescent device using 3 as the emitter has been fabricated, which produced a broad emission band with a significant contribution of exciplex emission.  相似文献

We propose a simple way to achieve pure blue emission and improved device efficiency via capping poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) with electron-deficient moieties (EDMs, such as oxadiazole (OXD) and triazole (TAZ)), which can induce a minor amount of long conjugating length species (regarded as beta phase) to control extents of energy transfer from amorphous matrix to the beta phase. The device efficiency of PFO end-capped with TAZ is higher than that with para-tert-butyl phenyl (TBP) by a factor of 2 (with CsF/Al as cathode), and its electroluminescent spectrum remains stable and with pure blue emission during cyclic operations (C.I.E. color coordinates x = 0.165, y = 0.076, independent of operating voltage and within the limit for pure blue emission x + y < 0.30). The improvement of device efficiency is dependent on the structure of EDM, such as size and planarity. The deep blue emission is originated from the incomplete energy transfer from amorphous matrix to the beta phase induced by the end-cappers.  相似文献

Through a combination of X-ray scattering and energy-filtered electron microscopy, we have quantitatively examined the relationship between the mesostructure of the photoactive layer and device performance in PBTTT/PC(71)BM solar cells. We can predict device performance from X-ray structural data through a simple morphological model which includes the exciton diffusion length.  相似文献

Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectra collected from alpha emitters are complicated by artifacts inherent to the alpha decay process, particularly when using portable instruments. For example, 239Pu EDXRF spectra exhibit a prominent uranium L X-ray emission peak series due to sample alpha decay rather than source-induced X-ray fluorescence. A portable EDXRF instrument was used to collect qualitative spectra from plutonium and americium, and metal alloy identification was performed on a Pu-contaminated steel sample. Significant alpha decay-induced X-ray fluorescence peaks were observed in spectra obtained from the plutonium and americium samples due to the 235U and 237Np daughters, respectively. The plutonium sample was also analyzed by wavelength dispersive XRF (WDXRF) to demonstrate that alpha decay-induced X-ray emission has a negligible effect on WDXRF spectra.  相似文献

The electronic structure of rubrene/pentacene and pentacene/rubrene bilayers has been investigated using soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy, resonant X-ray emission spectroscopy, and density-functional theory calculations. X-ray absorption and emission measurements reveal that it has been possible to alter the lowest unoccupied and the highest occupied molecular orbital states of rubrene in rubrene/pentacene bilayer. In the reverse case, one gets p* molecular orbital states originating from the pentacene layer. Resonant X-ray emission spectra suggest a reduction in the hole-transition probabilities for the pentacene/rubrene bilayer in comparison to reference pentacene layer. For the rubrenepentacene structure, the hole-transition probability shows an increase in comparison to the rubrene reference. We also determined the energy level alignment of the pentacene-rubrene interface by using X-ray and ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy. From these comparisons, it is found that the electronic structure of the pentacene-rubrene interface has a strong dependence on interface characteristics which depends on the order of the layers used.  相似文献

We report simple electrochemical methods for rapid growth of freestanding wurtzite ZnO nanorods in an aqueous solution and the following fabrication of a ZnO nanorod/poly(3-methylthiophene) heterojunction light-emitting diode. The typical electroluminescence spectra obtained from this heterostructure device under forward bias show a strong ultraviolet peak and a weak visible emission. The emission of the heterostructure device is much stronger than that of the ZnO-only structure and the turn-on voltage is about 7 V.  相似文献

High-resolution X-ray absorption measurements (with an accuracy of +/-0.3 eV) of ZnSO(4) (aq) were performed with ultrafast selected energy X-ray absorption spectroscopy (USEXAS) using a laser-driven tungsten target X-ray source. The results were used to determine the absolute spectral positions of characteristic emission lines. By comparing these positions to those predicted for the line emission from tungsten of different oxidation states using the Dirac-Fock formula, the tungsten species responsible for ultrafast hard X-ray generation were found to be tungsten atoms. This finding provides the first direct evidence to support the mechanism of X-ray generation via high-energy electrons interacting with tungsten atoms in the solid target.  相似文献

We report a high-sensitivity, disposable lab-on-a-chip with a thin-film organic light-emitting diode (OLED) excitation source and an organic photodiode (OPD) detector for on-chip fluorescence analysis. A NPB/Alq3 thin-film green OLED with an active area of 0.1 cm(2) was used as the excitation source, while a CuPC/C(60) thin-film OPD with 0.6 cm(2) active area was used as a photodetector. A novel cost-effective, cross-polarization scheme was used to filter out excitation light from a fluorescent dye emission spectrum. The excitation light from the OLED was linearly polarized and used to illuminate a microfluidic device containing a 1 microL volume of dye dissolved in ethanol. The detector was shielded by a second polarizer, oriented orthogonally to the excitation light, thus reducing the photocurrent due to excitation light leakage on the detector by approximately 25 dB. The fluorescence emission light, which is randomly polarized, is only attenuated by approximately 3 dB. Fluorescence signals from Rhodamine 6G (peak emission wavelength of 570 nm) and fluorescein (peak emission wavelength of 494 nm) dyes were measured in a dilution series in the microfluidic device with emission signals detected by the OPD. A limit-of-detection of 100 nM was demonstrated for Rhodamine 6G, and 10 microM for fluorescein. This suggests that an integrated microfluidic device, with an organic photodiode and LED excitation source and integrated polarizers, can be fabricated to realize a compact and economical lab-on-a-chip for point-of-care fluorescence assays.  相似文献

We report X-ray emission spectra of Fe(III), Fe(II), and Co(II) spin-crossover compounds in their high-spin and low-spin forms. It is shown that all X-ray emission features are sensitive to the spin state. Variations of the Kbeta and the Kalpha emission line shapes, which are in agreement with theory, can be used as quantitative probes of the spin state; it is suggested that with appropriate reference experiments one can extract the spin momentum for a general case. Resonant X-ray emission spectra unveil details of the redistribution of electrons on the 3d levels associated with the spin-state change by revealing features at the X-ray absorption preedge not accessible through standard absorption measurements.  相似文献

本文通过在8-羟基喹啉的5位上引入氨基和取代的苯基,合成了系列二-[2-苯基吡啶(C^N)][5-取代-8-羟基喹啉(N^O)]铱(Ⅲ)配合物((C^N)2IrQ).这里CN代表2-苯基吡啶,Q代表5-取代-8-羟基喹啉.通过1HNMR、13CNMR、MS、元素分析、单晶X-衍射等对配合物的化学和晶体结构进行了表征.利用循环伏安、UV-Vis、光致和电致发光光谱等对它们的光物理性质进行了表征.热重分析表明苯环上的取代基对配合物热稳定性有很大影响.常温下,几种5-取代苯基喹啉铱配合物的溶液和固体产生红色磷光发射,光致发光(PL)光谱在666和687nm附近出现两个强度基本相等的发射峰.配合物的发光性质主要受喹啉环和5位苯基的影响,苯环上的取代基团对配合物的发光性质影响不大.而5-氨基喹啉铱配合物PL光谱的最大发射峰在550nm,其PL光谱主要受2-苯基吡啶的影响.将配合物二-[2-苯基吡啶(C^N)][5-(4-甲氧基苯基)-8-羟基喹啉(N^O)]铱(Ⅲ)(7b)掺杂在聚2,7-(9,9-二辛基)芴(PFO)和30%(质量分数)的2-对叔丁基苯基-5-对联苯基-1,3,4-口恶二唑(PBD)的主体材料中,制备了聚合物发光器件(OLED),器件电致发光(EL)光谱的发射峰在672nm处,18V时最大亮度为350cd/m2,在电压14V时CIE色坐标值为(0.61,0.33),是一红光OLED器件.  相似文献

Large-scale cubic InN nanocrystals were synthesized by a combined solution- and vapor-phase method under silica confinement. Nearly monodisperse cubic InN nanocrystals with uniform spherical shape were dispersed stably in various organic solvents after removal of the silica shells. The average size of InN nanocrystals is 5.7 ± 0.6 nm. Powder X-ray diffraction results indicate that the InN nanocrystals are of high crystallinity with a cubic phase. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and energy-dispersive spectroscopy confirm that the nanocrystals are composed of In and N elements. The InN nanocrystals exhibit infrared photoluminescence at room temperature, with a peak energy of ~0.62 eV, which is smaller than that of high-quality wurtzite InN (~0.65-0.7 eV) and is in agreement with theoretical calculations. The small emission peak energy of InN nanocrystals, as compared to other low-cost solution or vapor methods, reveals the superior crystalline quality of our samples, with low or negligible defect density. This work will significantly promote InN-based applications in IR optoelectronic device and biology.  相似文献

Angle-resolved soft X-ray emission and absorption spectra in the BK and NK regions of hexagonal BN were measured using polarized synchrotron radiation. The take-off/incident-angle-dependence on the spectral features in both X-ray emission and absorption is clearly observed. The configuration of the sigma and pi orbitals, which were calculated using discrete variational (DV)-Xalpha molecular orbital calculations, explains the angle-resolved soft X-ray emission and absorption spectra. The relative peak intensity of the 394-eV peak in the NK X-ray emission provides useful information about the BN layer ordering.  相似文献
