In the case of multiple measurements we have found that there is nonzero decay width () (even for bound states) and that, for relatively long time intervals separating successive measurements, () tends like –k (k 1 according to the investigated model) to the asymptotic value o for unstable states and to zero for bound states. We have shown that the detector efficiencyZ 1 is responsible for this effect and that the evolution operator acting in the considered subspace of states should be renormalized to avoid this effect. As an illustration we have considered electromagnetic levels in the Coulomb field as an example of unstable states.  相似文献

The paper gives the results of measuring ferromagnetic resonance on thin cobalt films, vacuum deposited on unheated glass slides. The values of the (g-factor, the width of the curve, the effective stress and uniaxial induced anisotropy were determined as a function of the thickness of the film from measurements of the ferromagnetic absorption in a magnetic field normal and parallel to the surface of the film. Measurements were carried out on a frequency of 9200 MHz and on film thicknesses of 180 to 1800 Å. A qualitative explanation of the observed dependences is given.

We study higher order bicovariant differential calculi on the quantum groups Oq(N) and Sp q (N). We show that the second antisymmetrizer exterior algebra u is the quotient of the universal exterior algebra u by the principal ideal generated by . Here denotes the unique up to scalars biinvariant 1-form. Moreover is central in u and u is an inner differential calculus. We show that the quadratic dual to the left-invariant algebra s L is isomorphic to the reflection equation algebra. Let be an arbitrary left-covariant first order differential calculus. We show that the dimension of the space of left-invariant 2-forms in the universal exterior algebra equals the number of linearly independent quadratic-linear relations in the quantum tangent space.  相似文献

We report electron spectroscopic studies of the Rh(111) surface, with the aim to obtain bulk band-structure information. We have measured normal photoemision using tunable synchrotron radiation in the range of photon energies between 11 eV and 55 eV, and angle-dependent photoemission along the LUX and LKL azimuths using the He resonance lines (=21.2 eV, 40.8 eV). To complement these data, we studied angleresolved secondary electron emission after excitation with electrons and photons. We derive parts of the one-electron energy dispersionE(k) along L, and determine the energies of several bulk critical points (in eV):E(> 7+/8+)=–2.75±0.10,E(> 8+=–0.85±0.10,E(> 7–=16.1±0.5,E(> 6–/> 8–)=20.5±0.5,E(X 7+)=–5.0±0.1,E(L 6+)=–5.6±0.5,E(L 6+/L 4++5+)=–2.65±0.10,E(L 6+)=9.0±0.5 eV. Every normal, faithful, self-adjoint functional on a von Neumann algebraA canonically determines a one-parameter-weakly continuous *-automorphism group (the analog of the modular group) and a canonical 2 grading onA, commuting with . We show that the functional satisfies the weak super-KMS property with respect to and Furthermore, we prove that and are the unique pair of a-weakly continuous one-parameter *-automorphism group and a grading of the algebra, commuting with each other, with respect to which is weakly super-KMS. The complex coordinate approach of theoretical atomic spectroscopy is applied to the study of resonant tunnelling in (Ga,In)As/(Al,In)As-based asymmetrical double-barrier heterostructures within applied electric field. The method yields complex eigenvalues E = E r – i/2 of the Hamiltonian matrix evaluated in a normalizable basis, where E r is the resonant energy and = / is the tunnelling lifetime. The dependence of E res on the field and barrier asymmetry is discussed.  相似文献

We study group extensions , where acts on a C*-algebraA. Given a twisted covariant representation ,V of the pairA, we construct 3-cocycles on with values in the centre of the group generated byV(). These 3-cocycles are obstructions to the existence of an extension of byV() which acts onA compatibly with . The main theorems of the paper introduce a subsidiary invariant which classifies actions of onV() and in terms of which a necessary and sufficient condition for the the cohomology class of the 3-cocycle to be non-trivial may be formulated. Examples are provided which show how non-trivial 3-cocycles may be realised. The framework we choose to exhibit these essentially mathematical results is influenced by anomalous gauge field theories. We show how to interpret our results in that setting in two ways, one motivated by an algebraic approach to constrained dynamics and the other by the descent equation approach to constructing cocycles on gauge groups. In order to make comparisons with the usual approach to cohomology in gauge theory we conclude with a Lie algebra version of the invariant and the 3-cocycle.  相似文献

The thickness dependence of the magnetic band structure of ultrathin, epitaxial Ni(111)/W(110) layers has been studied by spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The changes of the spin-resolved photoemission intensities upon reducing the layer thickness depend strongly on the wavevector along the -L line of the Brillouin zone. The measured exchange splitting atk 1/3(-L) andk 1/2(-L) is found to be independent of the layer thickness for layers consisting of 3 or more atomic layers, while decreases rapidly with the layer thickness atk2/3(-L). This behavior is very similar to the temperature dependence of the spin-resolved photoemission spectra of bulk Ni(111) at the samek-points.  相似文献

The time evolution of a damped quantum particle is discussed. Dissipation is modeled by the bilinear coupling to a set of harmonic oscillators. Using a functional integral technique that accounts for initial correlations between the particle and the reservoir, one can express the dynamics of the damped particle entirely in terms of equilibrium correlation functions. The long-time behavior of these correlations is determined for memory damping arising from the coupling to a reservoir with spectral densityI() at low frequencies, where > 0. The time evolution of nonequilibrium initial states of the damped particle is discussed. At finite temperatures an initially localized state is found to spread subdiffusively or superdiffusively, depending on . For > 2 the damping becomes ineffective for long times, and the width of a state grows kinematically. At zero temperature and for < 1, an initially localized state remains localized for all times. For 1 the state spreads, but with a slower rate than at finite temperatures. Study of arbitrary initial states indicates that the process is ergodic at finite temperatures only for 2 and at zero temperature for 1 2.  相似文献

The relations of the amplitudes and phases of the for laser pulse propagation in clouds to d are given by Ishimaru et al, based on average particles in clouds. In practice, since the particles size in clouds is according to a size distribution spectrum, the ought to be derived from a particles size distribution. Based on the approximately solution which has been presented by Ishimaru and Hong, these examples of infrared laser pulse propagating in cloud are described and numerical analyses show the 's amplitude and phase obvious changes for tenuous and dense clouds. For a kind of cumulus and stratocumulus over Xi'an areas, considering cloud particles size distribution and mean particle size, respectively, the 's amplitudes and phases are calculated. These numerical results show that the differences between results calculated by applying particle size spectrum and mean size in clouds are remarkable, especially for the phase calculation. Therefore, It is shown that the calculated according to particles size distribution is more reasonable than by average particle size. This study is important for us to improve infrared laser ranging and image systems performances and atmospheric remote-sensing techniques.  相似文献

Within the framework of the conditions ; » –1 ( –1 is the mean time of momentum relaxation), the coefficient of absorption () of a weak electromagnetic wave by the free carriers of a polar semiconductor is calculated in the presence of a strong wave (of frequency ), for arbitrary values of and . Photon absorption by band electrons is due to these latter interacting with optical phonons (of frequency o). The problem is solved by using an analogous approach to the theory of the linear Kubo reaction. The results are valid in the absence of electron heating, when a strong wave only influences the scattering probability. The appearance of a photostimulated tail of absorption is predicted for < o, including the jump () for ( – o + ) 0T as well as peaks in the function () at the points s=s (s=1, 2, 3,...). Transient soliton dynamics for perturbatively driven and damped sG and 4 solitons was found fort –1. The perturbed solitons remain stable with relativistic reduced time-dependent width. Internal oscillation modes of the solitons are asymptotically damped fort –1. In an arbitrary Lorentzian manifold, we fix a spacelike submanifold P and a timelike submanifold . We interpret P as (the surface of) a light source at a particular instant of time, and we interpret as the history of (the surface of) a receiver. We prove the following version of Fermat's principle. Among all lightlike curves from P to , the lightlike geodesics which are perpendicular to P and spatially perpendicular to are characterized by stationary arrival time. Here, the arrival time is defined with the help of an arbitrary time function on . We consider KAM invariant curves for generalizations of the standard map of the form (x, y)=(x+y, y+f(x)), wheref(x) is an odd trigonometric polynomial. We study numerically their analytic properties by a Padé approximant method applied to the function which conjugates the dynamics to a rotation +. In the complex plane, natural boundaries of different shapes are found. In the complex plane the analyticity region appears to be a strip bounded by a natural boundary, whose width tends linearly to 0 as tends to the critical value.  相似文献

The first part of the paper gives a general equation for triple-crystal arrangement with perfect crystals on the assumption that the third crystal is rotated. It is shown that in the case of perfect crystals the shape of the reflection curve is practically independent of the vertical divergence. The case of mosaic crystals is also solved and the possibility of rotation by other than the third crystal is considered. A method is proposed for investigating the imperfection of a crystal which is different from methods used up to now. The paper is supplemented by some experimental results.

The magnetic properties of thin ferromagnetic films are studied taking into account the magnetic anisotropy term in the Hamiltonian. In the second approximation equations are obtained for the magnetization of the monatomic layers parallel to the surface of the thin film. From these equations one obtains the Curie temperature, which depends on the thickness of the thin film and the ratio a between the anisotropy constant and the exchange energy between two neighbours. A value can be chosen for such that the thin film becomes ferromagnetic only for a thickness greater than a definite value and in this manner the theoretical results can be fitted to the experimental data. The situation in cobalt thin films is dealt with in particular.

The shape of the light absorption band by a local tetragonal center at the transition 1 5(x, y) is investigated in a semiclassical approximation. In addition to interaction with fully-symmetric (1), Jahn-Teller (3, 4) vibrations, inter-action is also taken into account with vibrations 5, which admix an electron level 4(z) to the electronic state 5, which is separated from 5 by the energetic gap . An analytic computation of the band shape is performed in the first order of the expansion of the form function in –1. A nonzero 2-cocycle Z2(g, R) on the Lie algebra g of a compact Lie group G defines a twisted version of the Lie–Poisson structure on the dual Lie algebra g*, leading to a Poisson algebra C (g*()). Similarly, a multiplier c Z2(G, U(1)) on G which is smooth near the identity defines a twist in the convolution product on G, encoded by the twisted group C-algebra C*(G,c). Further to some superficial yet enlightening analogies between C (g*()) and C*(G,c), it is shown that the latter is a strict quantization of the former, where Plancks constant assumes values in (Z\{0})-1. This means that there exists a continuous field of C*-algebras, indexed by 0 (Z\{0})-1, for which A0= C0(g*) and A=C*(G,c) for 0, along with a cross-section of the field satisfying Diracs condition asymptotically relating the commutator in A to the Poisson bracket on C(g*()).
