Some two-component generalizations of the Novikov equation, except the Geng-Xue equation, are presented, as well as their Lax pairs and bi-Hamiltonian structures. Furthermore, we study the Hamiltonians of the Geng-Xue equation and discuss the homogeneous and local properties of them.  相似文献

We reduce the problem of constructing bi-Hamiltonian structure in three dimensions to the solutions of a Riccati equation in moving coordinates of Frenet-Serret frame. All explicitly constructed examples in the literature are exhausted by constant solutions. We conclude that in three dimensions vector fields which are not eigenvectors of the curl operator are locally bi-Hamiltonian.  相似文献

Integrable systems are derived from inelastic flows of timelike, spacelike, and null curves in 2– and 3– dimensional Minkowski space. The derivation uses a Lorentzian version of a geometrical moving frame method which is known to yield the modified Korteveg-de Vries (mKdV) equation and the nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation in 2– and 3– dimensional Euclidean space, respectively. In 2–dimensional Minkowski space, timelike/spacelike inelastic curve flows are shown to yield the defocusing mKdV equation and its bi-Hamiltonian integrability structure, while inelastic null curve flows are shown to give rise to Burgers’ equation and its symmetry integrability structure. In 3–dimensional Minkowski space, the complex defocusing mKdV equation and the NLS equation along with their bi-Hamiltonian integrability structures are obtained from timelike inelastic curve flows, whereas spacelike inelastic curve flows yield an interesting variant of these two integrable equations in which complex numbers are replaced by hyperbolic (split-complex) numbers.  相似文献

The Camassa-Holm equation, Degasperis-Procesi equation and Novikov equation are the three typical integrable evolution equations admitting peaked solitons. In this paper, a generalized Novikov equation with cubic and quadratic nonlinearities is studied, which is regarded as a generalization of these three well-known studied equations. It is shown that this equation admits single peaked traveling wave solutions, periodic peaked traveling wave solutions, and multi-peaked traveling wave solutions.  相似文献

The bi-Hamiltonian structure of higher-order water wave equation is seen to give rise to a multidimensional analogue of the Virasoro algebra. The quantum version of the equation can be constructed from the corresponding operator product expansion. Possible forms of some conserved quantities are given.  相似文献

We exhibit the bi-Hamiltonian structure of the equations of associativity (Witten-Dijkgraaf-Verlinde-Verlinde-Dubrovin equations) in 2-d topological field theory, which reduce to a single equation of Monge-Ampère type in the case of three primary fields. The first Hamiltonian structure of this equation is based on its representation as a 3-component system of hydrodynamic type and the second Hamiltonian structure follows from its formulation in terms of a variational principle with a degenerate Lagrangian. A supersymmetric extension of the Hunter–Saxton equation is constructed. We present its bi-Hamiltonian structure and show that it arises geometrically as a geodesic equation on the space of superdiffeomorphisms of the circle that leave a point fixed endowed with a right-invariant metric.   相似文献

We propose a bi-Hamiltonian formulation of the Euler equation for the free n-dimensional rigid body moving about a fixed point. This formulation lives on the physical phase space so(n), and is different from the bi-Hamiltonian formulation on the extended phase space sl(n), considered previously in the literature. Using the bi-Hamiltonian structure on so(n), we construct new recursion schemes for the Mishchenko and Manakov integrals of motion.  相似文献

In the present paper, we identify the integrability of the third-order nonlinear evolution equation ut = (1/2)((uxx u)-2)x in a Hamiltonian viewpoint. We prove that the recursion operator obtained by S. Yu. Sakovich is hereditary, and then deduce a bi-Hamiltonian structure of the equation by using some decomposition of the hereditary operator. A hierarchy associated to the equation is also shown.  相似文献

The algebraic properties of exactly solvable evolution equations in one spatial and one temporal dimensions have been well studied. In particular, the factorization of certain operators, called recursion operators, establishes the bi-Hamiltonian nature of all these equations. Recently, we have presented the recursion operator and the bi-Hamiltonian formulation of the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation, a two spatial dimensional analogue of the Korteweg-deVries equation. Here we present the general theory associated with recursion operators for bi-Hamiltonian equations in two spatial and one temporal dimensions. As an application we show that general classes of equations, which include the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili and the Davey-Stewartson equations, possess infinitely many commuting symmetries and infinitely many constants of motion in involution under two distinct Poisson brackets. Furthermore, we show that the relevant recursion operators naturally follow from the underlying isospectral eigenvalue problems.  相似文献

A moving frame formulation of non-stretching geometric curve flows in Euclidean space is used to derive a 1+1 dimensional hierarchy of integrable SO(3)SO(3)-invariant vector models containing the Heisenberg ferromagnetic spin model as well as a model given by a spin vector version of the mKdV equation. These models describe a geometric realization of the NLS hierarchy of soliton equations whose bi-Hamiltonian structure is shown to be encoded in the Frenet equations of the moving frame. This derivation yields an explicit bi-Hamiltonian structure, recursion operator, and constants of motion for each model in the hierarchy. A generalization of these results to geometric surface flows is presented, where the surfaces are non-stretching in one direction while stretching in all transverse directions. Through the Frenet equations of a moving frame, such surface flows are shown to encode a hierarchy of 2+1 dimensional integrable SO(3)SO(3)-invariant vector models, along with their bi-Hamiltonian structure, recursion operator, and constants of motion, describing a geometric realization of 2+1 dimensional bi-Hamiltonian NLS and mKdV soliton equations. Based on the well-known equivalence between the Heisenberg model and the Schrödinger map equation in 1+1 dimensions, a geometrical formulation of these hierarchies of 1+1 and 2+1 vector models is given in terms of dynamical maps into the 2-sphere. In particular, this formulation yields a new integrable generalization of the Schrödinger map equation in 2+1 dimensions as well as a mKdV analog of this map equation corresponding to the mKdV spin model in 1+1 and 2+1 dimensions.  相似文献

In the present paper, we identify the integrability of the third-order nonlinear evolution equation ut = (1/2)((uxz + u)^-2)z in a Hamiltonian viewpoint. We prove the integrability of the short pulse equation derived recently by Schäfer and Wayne from a Hamiltonian point of view. We give its bi-Hamiltonian structure and show how the recursion operator defined by the Hamiltonian operators is connected with the one obtained by Sakovich and Sakovich. An alternative zero-curvature formulation is also given.  相似文献

Starting from a matrix discrete spectral problem, we derive a negative discrete hierarchy. It is shown that the hierarchy is integrable in the Liouville sense and possesses a bi-Hamiltonian structure. Furthermore, its N-fold Darboux transformation is established with the help of gauge transformation of Lax pair. As an application of the Darboux transformation, some new exact solutions for a discrete equation in the negative hierarchy are obtained.  相似文献

The bi-Hamiltonian structure of integrable supersymmetric extensions of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation related to theN=1 and theN=2 superconformal algebras is found. It turns out that some of these extensions admit inverse Hamiltonian formulations in terms of presymplectic operators rather than in terms of Poisson tensors. For one extension related to theN=2 case additional symmtries are found with bosonic parts that cannot be reduced to symmetries of the classical KdV. They can be explained by a factorization of the corresponding Lax operator. All the bi-Hamiltonian formulations are derived in a systematic way from the Lax operators.  相似文献

In the recent paper by one of the authors (MBS) and A. A. Malykh on the classification of second-order PDEs with four independent variables that possess partner symmetries [1], mixed heavenly equation and Husain equation appear as closely related canonical equations admitting partner symmetries. Here for the mixed heavenly equation and Husain equation, formulated in a two-component form, we present recursion operators, Lax pairs of Olver–Ibragimov–Shabat type and discover their Lagrangians, symplectic and bi-Hamiltonian structure. We obtain all point and second-order symmetries, integrals and bi-Hamiltonian representations of these systems and their symmetry flows together with infinite hierarchies of nonlocal higher symmetries.  相似文献

With the help of the Zakharov–Manakov $\overline \partial $ -dressing method, the scheme of obtaining exact rational solutions to the well-known two-dimensional Veselov–Novikov integrable nonlinear equation and exact rational potentials for the two-dimensional Schrödinger stationary equation corresponding to wave functions with multiple poles is developed. As an example, new exact rational nonsingular and singular solutions to the Veselov–Novikov equation and the corresponding exact rational potentials for the two-dimensional Schrödinger stationary equation with multiple second-order poles are obtained.  相似文献

Using the extended homogeneous balance method, we have obtained abundant exact solution structures of a (2+1)-dimensional integrable model, the Nizhnik--Novikov--Veselov equation. By means of leading order terms analysis, the nonlinear transformations of the Nizhnik--Novikov--Veselov equation are given first, and then some special types of single solitary wave solution and multisoliton-like solutions are constructed.  相似文献
