By using star product method, the He-McKellar-Wilkens (HMW) effect for spin-one neutral particle on noncommutative (NC) space is studied. After solving the Kemmer-like equations on NC space, we obtain the topological HMW phase on NC space where the additional terms related to the space-space non-commutativity are given explicitly.  相似文献

By the method of capacitance spectroscopy and of magnetotransport we have investigated the and fractional-quantum-Hall-effect (FQHE) states in gated GaAs AlGaAs heterojunctions with tuned electron areal density. Our experimental results confirm the theoretical prediction of the fractional quasiparticle charge in the FQHE state and of the existence of spin-aligned quasiholes and spin-reversed quasielectrons in the fully spin-polarized FQHE state.  相似文献

电子的量子自旋霍尔效应的发现推进了当今凝聚态物理学的发展,它是一种电子自旋依赖的具有量子行为的输运效应.近年来,大量的理论和实验研究表明,描述电磁波场运动规律的麦克斯韦方程组内禀了光的量子自旋霍尔效应,存在于界面的倏逝波表现出强烈的自旋与动量关联性.得益于新兴的光学材料:超构材料(metamaterials)的发展,不仅能够任意设定光学参数,同时也能引入很多复杂的自旋-轨道耦合机理,让我们能够更加清晰地了解和验证其中的物理机理.本文对超构材料中量子自旋霍尔效应做了简要的介绍,内容主要包括真空中光的量子自旋霍尔效应的物理本质、电单负和磁单负超构材料能带反转导致的不同拓扑相的界面态、拓扑电路系统中光量子自旋霍尔效应等.  相似文献

文章作者在垂直磁场作用下的铁磁石墨烯体系里预言了一种新类型的量子自旋霍尔效应.这量子自旋霍尔效应与自旋轨道耦合无关,体系也不具有时间反演不变性;但是有CT不变(C为电子-空穴变换、T为时间反演变换).由于量子自旋霍尔效应,体系的纵向电阻和自旋霍尔阻出现量子化平台.特别是,自旋霍尔阻的量子化平台有很强的抗杂质干扰能力.  相似文献

Two different gauge potential methods are engaged to calculate explicitly the spin Hall conductivity in graphene. The graphene Hamiltonian with spin-orbit interaction is expressed in terms of kinematic momenta by introducing a gauge potential. A formulation of the spin Hall conductivity is established by requiring that the time evolution of this kinematic momentum vector vanishes. We then calculated the conductivity employing the Berry gauge fields. We show that both of the gauge fields can be deduced from the pure gauge field arising from the Foldy-Wouthuysen transformations.  相似文献

We explore the non-commutative (NC) effects on the energy spectrum of a two-dimensional hydrogen atom. We consider a confined particle in a central potential and study the modified energy states of the hydrogen atom in both coordinates and momenta of non-commutativity spaces. By considering the Rashba interaction, we observe that the degeneracy of states can also be removed due to the spin of the particle in the presence of NC space. We obtain the upper bounds for both coordinates and momenta versions of NC parameters by the splitting of the energy levels in the hydrogen atom with Rashba coupling. Finally, we find a connection between the NC parameters and Lorentz violation parameters with the Rashba interaction.  相似文献

Spin-orbit torques (SOTs) have been investigated most widely in normal metal/ferromagnet bilayers where the spin Hall effect of normal metal is a main source of spin currents. Recently, ferromagnets are found to also serve as spin-current sources through spin-orbit coupling. In this work, we theoretically investigate SOT acting on ferromagnet2 in ferromagnet1/normal metal/ferromagnet2 trilayers, which is caused by the spin Hall and spin swapping effects of ferromagnet1. Our result provides an analytical expression of SOT in the trilayers, which may be useful for quantifying the spin Hall and spin swapping effects of ferromagnets and also for designing and interpreting SOT experiments where a ferromagnet is used as a spin-current source instead of a normal metal.  相似文献

In this paper, the isotropic charged harmonic oscillator in uniform magnetic field is researched in the non-commutative phase space; the corresponding exact energy is obtained, and the analytic eigenfunction is presented in terms of the confluent hypergeometric function. It is shown that in the non-commutative space,the isotropic charged harmonic oscillator in uniform magnetic field has the similar behaviors to the Landau problem.  相似文献

We study a toy square-lattice model under a uniform magnetic field. Using the Landauer-Bttiker formula, we calculate the transport properties of the system on a two-terminal, a four-terminal and a six-terminal device. We find that the quantum spin Hall (QSH) effect appears in energy ranges where the spin-up and spin-down subsystems have different filling factors. We also study the robustness of the resulting QSH effect and find that it is robust when the Fermi levels of both spin subsystems are far away from the energy plateaus but is fragile when the Fermi level of any spin subsystem is near the energy plateaus. These results provide an example of the QSH effect with a physical origin other than time-reversal (TR) preserving spin-orbit coupling (SOC).  相似文献

In this paper the laws of motion of classical particles have been investigated in a non-commutative phase space. The corresponding non-commutative relations contain not only spatial non-commutativity but also momentum non-commutativity. First, new Poisson brackets have been defined in non-commutative phase space. They contain corrections due to the non-commutativity of coordinates and momenta. On the basis of this new Poisson brackets, a new modified second law of Newton has been obtained. For two cases, the free particle and the harmonic oscillator, the equations of motion are derived on basis of the modified second law of Newton and the linear transformation (Phys. Rev. D, 2005, 72: 025010). The consistency between both methods is demonstrated. It is shown that a free particle in commutative space is not a free particle with zero-acceleration in the non-commutative phase space, but it remains a free particle with zero-acceleration in non-commutative space if only the coordinates are non-commutative.  相似文献

The quantum spin Hall effect(QSHE) was first realized in HgTe quantum wells(QWs),which remain the only known two-dimensional topological insulator so far.In this paper,we have systematically studied the effect of the thickness fluctuation of HgTe QWs on the QSHE.We start with the case of constant mass with random distributions,and reveal that the disordered system can be well described by a virtual uniform QW with an effective mass when the number of components is small.When the number is infinite and corresponds to the real fluctuation,we find that the QSHE is not only robust,but also can be generated by relatively strong fluctuation.Our results imply that the thickness fluctuation does not cause backscattering,and the QSHE is robust to it.  相似文献

We review the recent experimental progress towards observing quantum spin Hall effect in inverted InAs/GaSb quantum wells (QWs). Low temperature transport measurements in the hybridization gap show bulk conductivity of a non-trivial origin, while the length and width dependence of conductance in this regime show strong evidence for the existence of helical edge modes proposed by Liu et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett., 2008, 100: 236601]. Surprisingly, edge modes persist in spite of comparable bulk conduction and show only weak dependence on magnetic field. We elucidate that seeming independence of edge on bulk transport comes due to the disparity in Fermi-wave vectors between the bulk and the edge, leading to a total internal reflection of the edge modes.  相似文献

光束在经过非均匀介质后,自旋角动量相反(左、右旋圆偏振)的光子在垂直于入射面的横向相互分离,造成光束的自旋分裂,这种现象叫做光自旋霍尔效应.它类似于电子系统中的自旋霍尔效应:自旋光子扮演自旋电子的角色,而折射率梯度则起外场作用.光自旋霍尔效应为操控光子提供了新的途径,在纳米光学、量子信息和半导体物理方面具有重要的应用前景;同时由于它与凝聚态和高能物理中的带电粒子自旋霍尔效应有高度的相似性和共同的拓扑根源,所以又为测量自旋霍尔效应这类弱拓扑现象提供了独特而又方便的机会.文章简单介绍了光自旋霍尔效应,并总结了近几年国内外的研究进展.  相似文献

An intrinsic contribution to the spin Hall effect in two‐dimensional silicene is considered theoretically within the linear response theory and Green's function formalism. When an external voltage normal to the silicene plane is applied, the spin Hall conductivity is shown to reveal a transition from the spin Hall insulator phase at low bias to the conventional insulator phase at higher voltages. This transition resembles the recently reported phase transition in bilayer graphene. The spin–orbit interaction responsible for this transition in silicene is much stronger than in graphene, which should make the transition observable experimentally. <正>研究了缀饰格子中的量子自旋霍尔效应,模型中同时考虑了Rashba自旋轨道耦合和交换场的作用.缀饰格子具有简立方对称性,以零能平带和单狄拉克锥结构为主要特点.在缀饰格子中,不论是实现量子自旋霍尔效应还是量子反常霍尔效应,都需要一个不为零的内禀自旋轨道耦合作用来打开一个完全的体能隙,这与石墨烯等六角格子模型有着很大的不同.在交换场破坏了时间反演对称性的情况下,以自旋陈数为标志的量子自旋霍尔效应仍然能够存在,边缘态和极化率的相关结果也证明了这一结论.结果表明自旋陈数比z2拓扑数在表征量子自旋霍尔效应方面有着更广泛的适用范围,相应的结论为利用磁场控制量子自旋霍尔效应提出了一个理论模型和依据.  相似文献

We discuss a new gravitational effect that the wave packet of a free-fall quantum particle undergoes a spin-dependent transverse shift in Earth's gravitational field. This effect is similar to the geometric spin Hall effect (GSHE) (Aiello 2009 et al Phys. Rev. Lett. 103 100401 ), and can be called gravity-induced GSHE. This effect suggests that the free-fall wave packets of opposite spin-polarized quantum particles can be split in the direction perpendicular to spin and gravity.  相似文献

In this paper we study the bilayer quantum Hall (QH) effect on a noncommutative phase space (NCPS). By using perturbation theory, we calculate the energy spectrum, eigenfunction, Hall current, and Hall conductivity of the bilayer QH system, and express them in terms of noncommutative parameters θ and θ^-, respectively.
