We present the most general definition of the linking of sets in a Hilbert space and, drawing on the theory given in earlier papers by Schechter and Tintarev, give a necessary and sufficient geometric condition for linking when one set is compact.

The hyperbolic complex space is one class of non-Euclidean spaces with continuous singular points. It corresponds with Minkowski space, and it has the characteristic that the space-time direction is different in nature. Regard the hyperbolic complex space as original spaces. An analog of the Whittaker-Shannon-Kotel'nikov sampling theorem is derived for functions with values in a separable Hilbert space. The proof uses the concept of frames and frame operators in a Hilbert space. One of the consequences of this theorem is that it allows us to derive sampling theorems associated with boundary-value problems and some homogeneous integral equations, which in turn gives us a generalization of another sampling theorem by Kramer.

Broyden's method is formulated for the solution of nonlinear operator equations in Hilbert spaces. The algorithm is proven to be well defined and a linear rate of convergence is shown. It is shown that if Ω = Q or Ω = ? 2, then there exists a functor of extension of maps between Z-sets in Ω to mappings of Ω into itself. This functor transforms homeomorphisms into homeomorphisms, thus giving a functorial setting to a well-known theorem of Anderson [Anderson R.D., On topological infinite deficiency, Michigan Math. J., 1967, 14, 365–383]. It also preserves convergence of sequences of mappings, both pointwise and uniform on compact sets, and supremum distances as well as uniform continuity, Lipschitz property, nonexpansiveness of maps in appropriate metrics.  相似文献

Fusion-Riesz frame (Riesz frame of subspace) whose all subsets are fusion frame sequences with the same bounds is a special fusion frame. It is also considered a generalization of Riesz frame since it shares some important properties of Riesz frame. In this paper, we show a part of these properties of fusion-Riesz frame and the new results about the stabilities of fusion-Riesz frames under operator perturbation (simple named operator perturbation of fusion-Riesz frames). Moreover, we also compare the operator perturbation of fusion-Riesz frame with that of fusion frame, fusion-Riesz basis (also called Riesz decomposition or Riesz fusion basis) and exact fusion frame.  相似文献

A rigid space is a topological vector space whose endomorphisms are all simply scalar multiples of the identity map. This is in sharp contrast to the behavior of operators on , and so rigid spaces are, from the viewpoint of functional analysis, fundamentally different from Hilbert space. Nevertheless, we show in this paper that a rigid space can be constructed which is topologically homeomorphic to Hilbert space. We do this by demonstrating that the first complete rigid space can be modified slightly to be an AR-space (absolute retract), and thus by a theorem of Dobrowolski and Torunczyk is homeomorphic to .

We consider a family of semilinear evolution equations in Hilbert space of the form with, in general, unbounded operators *A(λ), F(λ·) depending analytically on a real parameter λ. We assume that the origin is a stationary solution, i.e. F(λ,0) = 0, for all λ ε R and that the linearization (with respect to u) at the origin is given by du/dt + A(λ)u = 0. Our essential assumption is the following: A(λ) possesses one pair of simple complex conjugate eigenvalues μ(λ) = Re μ(λ) ± i Im μ(λ) such that Im μ(0) > 0 and for some m ε N or If m = 1 the curves of eigenvalues μ(λ) cross the imaginary axis transversally at ±i Im μ(0). In this case a unique branch of periodic solutions emanates from the origin at λ = 0 which is commonly called Hopf bifurcation. If μ(λ) and the imaginary axis are no longer transversal, i.e. m > 1, we call a bifurcation of periodic solutions, if it occurs, a generalized Hopf bifurcation. It is remarkable that up to m such branches may exist. Our approach gives the number of bifurcating solutions, their direction of bifurcation, and its asymptotic expansion. We regain the results of D. Flockerzi who established them in a completely different way for ordinary differential equations.  相似文献

In this paper we study the characterization of the solution to the extremal problem inf{‖xxCM}, wherex is in a Hilbert spaceH, C is a convex cone, andM is a translate of a subspace ofH determined by interpolation conditions. We introduce a simple geometric property called the “conical hull intersection property” that provides a unifying framework for most of the basic results in the subject of optimal constrained approximation. Our approach naturally lends itself to considering the data cone as opposed to the constraint cone. A nice characterization of the solution occurs, for example, if the data vector associated withM is an interior point of the data cone.  相似文献

In this paper, some existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem involving a pseudo-monotone mapping over an arbitrary closed convex cone in a real Hilbert space are established. In particular, some known existence results for a nonlinear complementarity problem in a finite-dimensional Hilbert space are generalized to an infinite-dimensional real Hilbert space. Applications to a class of nonlinear complementarity problems and the study of the post-critical equilibrium state of a thin elastic plate subjected to unilateral conditions are given.This research was partially supported by the National Science Foundation Grant DMS-89-13089, Department of Energy Grant DE-FG03-87-ER-25028, and Office of Naval Research Grant N00014-89-J-1659.
