High-precision analyses are presented for the production of scalar sleptons, selectrons and smuons in supersymmetric theories, at future e + e- and e-e- linear colliders. Threshold production can be exploited for measurements of the selectron and smuon masses, an essential ingredient for the reconstruction of the fundamental supersymmetric theory at high scales. The production of selectrons in the continuum will allow us to determine the Yukawa couplings in the selectron sector, scrutinizing the identity of the Yukawa and gauge couplings, which is a basic consequence of supersymmetry. The theoretical predictions are elaborated at the one-loop level in the continuum, while at threshold non-zero width effects and Sommerfeld rescattering corrections are included. The phenomenological analyses are performed for e + e- and e-e- linear colliders with energy up to about 1 TeV and with high integrated luminosity up to 1 ab-1 to cover the individual slepton channels separately with high precision.Received: 21 October 2003, Revised: 12 January 2004, Published online: 23 April 2004  相似文献

The differential cross sections of the reactions e+e? → e+e? and e+e?λλ are measured at energies between 33.0 and 36.7 GeV. The results agree with the predictions of quantum electrodynamics. A comparison with the standard model of electroweak interaction yields sin2θW = 0.25 ± 0.13.  相似文献

The reaction γ + Be → e+e? + X was studied with a bremsstrahlung beam of 7.2 GeV maximum energy. For invariant pair masses 1.8 ? Me+e? 2.6 GeV, no evidence for narrow resonance of width smaller than 40 MeV was found. For the mass interval 2.1 ? Me+e? ? 2.6 GeV, we obtained an upper limit of σ · Be+e? < 2 × 10?35 cm2/nucleon (90% confidence level), assuming a production mechanism similar to the θ (1019) meson.  相似文献

It is argued that unitarity and muon-electron universality are sufficient to determine the contribution of hadrons to the imaginary part of the forward amplitude for the process e+e?μ+μ?. With these assumptions Im T1h(e+e?μ+μ?) = (e+e? → hadrons) to all orders in α. Some consequences of this formula are discussed.  相似文献

We investigate selectron pair production and decay in e - e - scattering and e + e - annihilation with polarized beams taking into account neutralino mixing as well as initial state radiation and beamstrahlung corrections. One of the main advantages of having both modes at disposal is their complementarity concerning the threshold behavior of selectron pair production. In e - e - the cross sections at threshold for and increase proportional to the momentum of the selectron and in e + e - that for . Measurements at threshold with polarized beams can be used to determine the selectron masses precisely. Moreover we discuss how polarized electron and positron beams can be used to establish directly the weak quantum numbers of the selectrons. We also use selectron pair production to determine the gaugino mass parameter M1. This is of particular interest for scenarios with non-universal gaugino masses at a high scale resulting in at the electroweak scale. Moreover, we consider also the case of non-vanishing selectron mixing and demonstrate that it leads to a significant change in the phenomenology of selectrons. The reactions e+e?μ+μ?γ and e+e?→e+e?γ have been studied with the CELLO detector at the PETRA storage ring. Data have been collected from s=14 GeV up to46.8GeV. In a Dalitz plot analysis of the data, good agreement is found with QED, except for the region Mxμγe>0.8 where the probability that QED describes the high energy data is at the percent level.  相似文献

Within the hidden local symmetry framework, the Dalitz decay η→Ve+e-is studied with the vector meson dominance model. It is found that the partial width Γ(η→ωe+e-)≈40 e V and branching ratio B(η→ωe+e-)≈2×10-4, and Γ(η→ρe+e-)≈10Γ(η→ωe+e-) and B(η→ρe+e-)≈10B(η→ωe+e-). The maximum position of the dilepton distribution is m e+e-≈1.33 Me V. These decays are measurable with the advent of high statistic ηexperiments.  相似文献

New quarks and new flavor-changing neutral currents give multiple lepton plus hadron final states in e+e-, vμN, vμN. We observe that (i) e+e- is a favored place to search for their effects through inclusive ratios σ(e+e-+x:σ (μ+μ- +x): σ(e±μ±+x) and same sign leptons e±e±+x, μ±μ±+x,e±μ±+x. Above a new flavor threshold four charged lrpton final states may become important. (ii) Trilepton final states in vμN, vμN are not sensitive to the presence of flavor-changing neutral currents. Much more sensitive are the processes vμN are +e-+βand (for charm changing neutral currents) vμN→e+β.  相似文献

We have looked for the decay ηπ0e+e? in an optical spark chamber experiment at the Rutherford Laboratory. Our observations are consistent with no events being seen and give an upper limit rate (ηπ0e+e?)/ rate (ηall) < 4.5 × 10?5 (90% C.L.).  相似文献

In investigating the e+e? → e+e?γ process the radiation probability is oberved to be substantially less than that calculated in the standard QED. The effect is due to the fact that the characteristic impact parameters in the process are much greater than the transverse sizes of the colliding beams. 采用包含Davidson修正多参考组态相互作用(MRCI)方法结合价态范围内的最大相关一致基As/aug-cc-pV5Z和O/aug-cc-pV6Z, 计算了AsO+ (X2+)和AsO+(A2∏)的势能曲线. 利用AsO+离子的势能曲线在同位素质量修正的基础上, 拟合出了同位素离子75As16O+75As18O+的两个电子态光谱常数. 对于X2+态的主要同位素离子75As16O+, 其光谱常数Re, ωe, ωexe, Be和αe分别为 0.15770 nm, 1091.07 cm-1, 5.02017 cm-1, 0.514826 cm-1和0.003123 cm-1; 对于A2∏态的主要同位素离子75As16O+, 其Te, Re, ωe, ωexe, Be和αe分别为5.248 eV, 0.16982 nm, 776.848 cm-1, 6.71941 cm-1, 0.443385 cm-1和0.003948 cm-1. 这些数据与已有的实验结果均符合很好. 通过求解核运动的径向薛定谔方程, 找到了J=0时AsO+(X2+)和AsO+(A2∏)的前20个振动态. 对于每一振动态, 还分别计算了它的振动能级、转动惯量及离心畸变常数, 并进行了同位素质量修正, 得到各同位素离子的分子常数. 这些结果与已有的实验值非常一致. 本文对于同位素离子75As16O+(X1+), 75As18O+(X1+), 75As16O+(A1∏)和75As16O+(A1∏)的光谱常数和分子常数属首次报导.  相似文献

The cross section for the reaction e+e-→π+π-π+π- has been measured at the e+e- storage ring Adone, in the to tal c.m. energy range 1.42–2.20 GeV. The peak and the following descent of the ?′(1600) resonance is observed. Using also lower energy data, and assuming that only one resonant amplitude contributes to the observed cross section, the parameters of the ?′(1600) are deduced.  相似文献

Considering the constraints from collider experiments and dark matter detection, we investigate the SUSY effects in the Higgs production channels e+e-→Zh at an e+e- collider with a center-of-mass energy above 240 GeV and γγ→h→bb at a photon collider with a center-of-mass energy above 125 GeV. In the parameter space allowed by current experiments, we find that the SUSY corrections to e+e-→Zh can reach a few percent and the production rate of γγ→h→bb can be enhanced by a factor of 1.2 over the SM prediction. We also calculate the exotic Higgs production e+e-→Zh1 in the next-to-minimal supersymmetric model (NMSSM) (h is the SM-like Higgs, h1 is the CP-even Higgs bosons which can be much lighter than h). We find that at a 250 GeV e+e- collider the production rates of e+e-→Zh1 can reach 60 fb.  相似文献

The analysis of 12827 e+ + e- → e± + e-+ events observed in the s-range 1.44?9.0 GeV2 allows measurement of the energy dependence of the cross-section for the most typical QED process, with ±2% accuracy. The rotational analysis of some bands of the B3Σu?-B3Πg system of nitrogen (14N2 and 15N2) excited in a microwave discharge and recorded under high resolution with a Fourier transform interferometer allowed the determination of molecular constants for the v = 0, 1, 2 levels in the B3Σu? state. Measurements of the charged multiplicities for hadron production in e+e? annihilation in the center of mass energy range 9–32 GeV have been made. The average charged multiplicity has an energy dependence much stronger than ln s and similar to that reported for pp collisions. Quantitative differences are observed in the magnitude of both the average multiplicity 〈nch〉 and the dispersion Dch for e+e? and pp interactions at the same center of mass energy. 〈nch〉 and the ratio 〈nch/Dch in e+e? annihilations are significantly larger than in pp collisions and are found to be in overall agreement with QCD predictions. We calculate cross section for e+e? scattering into four-lepton final states such as e+e?e+e?, e+e?μ+μ?, μ+μ?μ+μ?, μ+μ?τ+τ?. We also give exclusive cross sectionsfor all cases where one or more lepton tracks are at large angles to the beams. The calculations are performed using a Monte Carlo event generator which takes into account the complete set of relevant lowest order Feynman diagrams.  相似文献

The production of multipion events by e+e? annihilation has been measured at centre of mass energies 915,990 and 1076 MeV. Both channels e+e?π+π?πo and e+e?π+π?π+π? have been analysed. An energy threshold effect analysed. An energy threshold effect around 919 MeV (mω + mπo) has been evidenced for the π+π?πoπo channel and the cross section is consistent with the quasi two-body process e+e?ωπo. The cross section for π+π?π+π? is lower by an order of magnitude and increases with the energy.  相似文献
