We prove the existence of globally defined variational solutions to the compressible magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations with the coefficients depending on the temperature. As a by-product, we give a simple proof for the nonexistence of nontrivial weak time-periodic solutions by the entropy principle of Clausius–Duhem and a new Poincaré-type inequality.  相似文献

In this paper, we are concerned with the global existence and convergence rates of the smooth solutions for the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations in R3. We prove the global existence of the smooth solutions by the standard energy method under the condition that the initial data are close to the constant equilibrium state in H3-framework. Moreover, if additionally the initial data belong to Lp with , the optimal convergence rates of the solutions in Lq-norm with 2≤q≤6 and its spatial derivatives in L2-norm are obtained.  相似文献

The compactness of weak solutions to the magnetohydrodynamic equations for the viscous, compressible, heat conducting fluids is considered in both the three-dimensional space R3 and the three-dimensional periodic domains. The viscosities, the heat conductivity as well as the magnetic coefficient are allowed to depend on the density, and may vanish on the vacuum. This paper provides a different idea from [X. Hu, D. Wang, Global solutions to the three-dimensional full compressible magnetohydrodynamic flows, Comm. Math. Phys. (2008), in press] to show the compactness of solutions of viscous, compressible, heat conducting magnetohydrodynamic flows, derives a new entropy identity, and shows that the limit of a sequence of weak solutions is still a weak solution to the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations.  相似文献

Global solutions of the nonlinear magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) equations with general large initial data are investigated. First the existence and uniqueness of global solutions are established with large initial data in H 1. It is shown that neither shock waves nor vacuum and concentration are developed in a finite time, although there is a complex interaction between the hydrodynamic and magnetodynamic effects. Then the continuous dependence of solutions upon the initial data is proved. The equivalence between the well-posedness problems of the system in Euler and Lagrangian coordinates is also showed.  相似文献

The quasineutral limit of compressible Navier-Stokes-Poisson system with heat conductivity and general (ill-prepared) initial data is rigorously proved in this paper. It is proved that, as the Debye length tends to zero, the solution of the compressible Navier-Stokes-Poisson system converges strongly to the strong solution of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations plus a term of fast singular oscillating gradient vector fields. Moreover, if the Debye length, the viscosity coefficients and the heat conductivity coefficient independently go to zero, we obtain the incompressible Euler equations. In both cases the convergence rates are obtained.  相似文献

The low Mach number limit for classical solutions of the compressible magnetohydrodynamic equations without thermal conductivity is, here, studied. A uniform existence result for the Cauchy problem in is proved under the assumption that the initial data are uniformly bounded with respect to the Mach number in and are well‐prepared in . The global stability of Lipschitz continuous solutions with discontinuous initial data is established in a broad class of entropy solutions in containing vacuum states. In particular, the uniqueness of Lipschitz solutions with discontinuous initial data is obtained in the broad class of entropy solutions in .  相似文献

We are concerned with global entropy solutions to the relativistic Euler equations for a class of large initial data which involve the interaction of shock waves and rarefaction waves. We first carefully analyze the global behavior of the shock curves, the rarefaction wave curves, and their corresponding inverse curves in the phase plane. Based on these analyses, we use the Glimm scheme to construct global entropy solutions to the relativistic Euler equations for the class of large discontinuous initial data.Received: May 23, 2004  相似文献

The electro-diffusion model, which arises in electrohydrodynamics, is a coupling between the Nernst-Planck-Poisson system and the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. For the generally smooth doping profile, the quasineutral limit (zero-Debye-length limit) is justified rigorously in Sobolev norm uniformly in time. The proof is based on the elaborate energy analysis and the key point is to establish the uniform estimates with respect to the scaled Debye length.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a one-dimensional nonisentropic compressible planar magnetohydrodynamic flow with general initial data, whose behaviors at far fields x→± are different. The low Mach limit for the system is rigorously justified. The limit relies on the uniform estimates including weighted time derivatives and an extended convergence lemma.  相似文献

In the present paper, we investigate the large-time behavior of the solution to an initial-boundary value problem for the isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations in the Eulerian coordinate in the half space. This is one of the series of papers by the authors on the stability of nonlinear waves for the outflow problem of the compressible Navier-Stokes equations. Some suitable assumptions are made to guarantee that the time-asymptotic state is a nonlinear wave which is the superposition of a stationary solution and a rarefaction wave. Employing the L2-energy method and making use of the techniques from the paper [S. Kawashima, Y. Nikkuni, Stability of rarefaction waves for the discrete Boltzmann equations, Adv. Math. Sci. Appl. 12 (1) (2002) 327-353], we prove that this nonlinear wave is nonlinearly stable under a small perturbation. The complexity of nonlinear wave leads to many complicated terms in the course of establishing the a priori estimates, however those terms are of two basic types, and the terms of each type are “good” and can be evaluated suitably by using the decay (in both time and space variables) estimates of each component of nonlinear wave.  相似文献

This work establishes two regularity criteria for the 3D incompressible MHD equations. The first one is in terms of the derivative of the velocity field in one direction while the second one requires suitable boundedness of the derivative of the pressure in one direction.  相似文献

A formulation of certain barotropic compressible Navier-Stokes equations with third-order derivatives as a viscous Euler system is proposed by using an effective velocity variable. The equations model, for instance, viscous Korteweg or quantum Navier-Stokes flows. The formulation in the new variable allows for the derivation of an entropy identity, which is known as the BD (Bresch-Desjardins) entropy equation. As a consequence of this estimate, a new global-in-time existence result for the one-dimensional quantum Navier-Stokes equations with strictly positive particle densities is proved.  相似文献

The connection between the compressible viscous quantum magnetohydrodynamic model with low Mach number and the ideal incompressible magnetohydrodynamic equations is studied in a periodic domain. More precisely, for well‐prepared initial data, we prove the convergence of classical solutions of the compressible viscous quantum magnetohydrodynamic model to the classical solutions of the incompressible ideal magnetohydrodynamic equations with a convergence rate when the Mach number, viscosity coefficient, and magnetic diffusion coefficient simultaneously tend to zero.  相似文献

The global solutions in critical spaces to the multi-dimensional compressible viscoelastic flows are considered. The global existence of the Cauchy problem with initial data close to an equilibrium state is established in Besov spaces. Using uniform estimates for a hyperbolic-parabolic linear system with convection terms, we prove the global existence in the Besov space which is invariant with respect to the scaling of the associated equations. Several important estimates are achieved, including a smoothing effect on the velocity, and the L1-decay of the density and deformation gradient.  相似文献
