We previously reported the use of imidazole as starting compound for preparing a bicyclic imidazolium ionic liquid, [b-3C-im][NTf2], with an overall 29% isolated yield in four synthetic steps. This new room temperature ionic liquid was shown to be far more chemically stable than commonly used [bmim][PF6], [bdmim][PF6], and [bdmim][NTf2]. Because of this intriguing chemical stability, it prompted us to develop a more generalized and high yielding synthesis so that molecular diversity of bicyclic ionic liquids may be explored. In this work, we amended the previous synthetic route by employing 4-chlorobutyronitrile or 5-chlorovaleronitrile as starting materials and successfully developed a five-step synthesis of a series of novel bicyclic imidazolium-based ionic liquids in 40-53% overall isolated yields. We investigated intrinsic reactivity of all bicyclic ionic liquids prepared and found that, under strongly basic conditions, among all tested ionic liquids the 5,5-membered [R-3C-im][NTf2] ionic liquids were most stable to solvent deuterium isotope exchange while the previously reported [bdmim][NTf2] ionic liquid was 50% deuterium exchanged at its C-2 methyl in 30 min at ambient temperature. Under identical condition, the commonly used [bmim][NTf2] ionic liquid was deuterium exchanged instantaneously at its C-2 hydrogen. In the absence of bases, only [bmim][PF6] was deuterium exchanged (50% within 1 h) and all other ionic liquids gave no detectable exchanges even after 25 days at ambient temperature. Moreover, both [bmim][NTf2] and [bdmim][NTf2] ionic liquids were readily methylated at C-2 position with methyl iodide under basic condition at room temperature. Under the same condition, [R-3C-im][NTf2] and [R-4C-im][NTf2] ionic liquids were completely stable and chemically inert. We envisioned that [R-3C-im][NTf2] should be well suited as solvents for organic synthesis.  相似文献

The permeability of carbon dioxide (CO2) through imidazolium-based ionic liquid membranes was measured by a sweep gas method. Six species of ionic liquids were studied in this work as follows: [emim][BF4], [bmim][BF4], [bmim][PF6], [bmim][Tf2N], [bmim][OTf], and [bmim][dca]. The ionic liquids were supported with a polyvinylidene fluoride porous membrane. The measurements were performed at T = (303.15 to 343.15) K. The partial pressure difference between feed and permeate sides was 0.121 MPa. The permeability of the CO2 increases with temperature for the all ionic liquid species. Base on solution diffusion theory, it can be explained that the diffusion coefficient of CO2 in an ionic liquid affects the temperature dependence more strongly than the solubility coefficient. The greatest permeability was obtained with the [bmim][Tf2N] membrane. The membrane of [bmim][PF6] presents the lowest permeability.The separation coefficient between CO2 and N2 through the ionic liquid membranes was also investigated at the volume fraction of CO2 at feed side 0.10. The separation coefficient decreases with the increase of temperature for the all ionic liquid species. The membrane of [emim][BF4] and [bmim][BF4] gives the highest separation coefficient at constant temperature. The lowest separation coefficient was obtained from [bmim][Tf2N] membrane which presents the highest permeability of CO2.  相似文献

Using imidazole as the starting material, the synthesis of a new bicyclic ionic liquid [b-3C-im][NTf2] is described. Except for the alkylation reaction in the second step (40% yield) of this four-step synthesis of [b-3C-im][NTf2], others were all high yielding reactions (85-94% isolated yields). We investigated intrinsic reactivity of this and other imidazolium-based ionic liquids and found that, under strongly basic conditions (KOD in CD3OD/D2O (1:1) solution), the new ionic liquid was stable to solvent deuterium isotope exchange while the previously reported [bdmim][NTf2] and [bdmim][PF6] ionic liquids were 50% deuterium exchanged at its C-2 methyl in 30 min at ambient temperature. At the same experimental condition, the most commonly employed [bmim][PF6] ionic liquid was deuterium exchanged instantaneously at its C-2 hydrogen. In the absence of bases (CD3OD/D2O = 1:1), only [bmim][PF6] was deuterium exchanged (50% within 1 h) and other ionic liquids gave no detectable exchanges even after one week at ambient temperature. It is therefore concluded that the new [b-3C-im][NTf2] ionic liquid is far more chemically stable than previously reported [bmim][PF6], [bdmim][NTf2], and [bdmim][PF6].  相似文献

A novel task-specific ionic liquid, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium p-toluenesulfinate, [bmim][p-TolSO2] has been synthesized and used as a nucleophile for the reaction with alkyl bromides and phenacyl bromides to prepare sulfones and β-ketosulfones in excellent yields (80-93%) in [bmim][BF4] ionic liquid. The isolated yields of sulfones and β-ketosulfones were higher in [bmim][BF4] than other organic solvents at room temperature.  相似文献

Diffusion coefficients of the ionic liquids [C2MIM][EtSO4], [C4MIM][OcSO4], [C2MIM][NTf2] and [C4MIM][NTf2] in water at high dilution have been measured using the Taylor dispersion technique. Data on the diffusion coefficients have been obtained for each solute at six temperatures between 288 and 313 K. The data have been fitted by the Arrhenius equation and activation energies of diffusion have been determined. Effective radii of the ionic liquid molecules have also been obtained using the Stokes–Einstein relationship.  相似文献

Sequential type one pot Nazarov/Michael reaction of pyrrole derivatives has been demonstrated using 5 mol% Fe(ClO4)3·Al2O as catalyst in an ionic liquid as solvent. We succeeded in obtaining 4,5-dihydrocyclopenta[b]pyrrol-6(1H)-one derivative in good yield for five repetitions of the reactions without any addition of the catalyst using an ionic liquid, [bmim][NTf2], as solvent system.  相似文献

以1-甲基咪唑为原料, 制备了6个常规离子液体: 1-正丁基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐及六氟磷酸盐(简称[bmim][BF4]及[bmim][PF6])、1-正己基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐及六氟磷酸盐(简称[hmim][BF4]及[hmim][PF6])、1-正十六烷基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐及六氟磷酸盐(简称[C16mim][BF4]及[C16mim][PF6])和4个功能化离子液体: 1-(2-羟乙基)-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐及六氟磷酸盐(简称[2-hemim][BF4]及[2-hemim][PF6])、1-乙氧羰基甲基-3-甲基咪唑四氟硼酸盐及六氟磷酸盐(简称[eocmmim][BF4]及[eocmmim][PF6]). 研究了这两类离子液体的一些物理性能, 旨在挖掘离子液体在香料香精化妆品工业中的应用价值. 分别检测了它们与一般溶剂的互溶性, 并测定了它们的表面张力和发泡性能, 实验结果表明, 仅[C16mim][BF4]和[C16mim][PF6]具有发泡性能, 发泡力分别为68和120 mm.  相似文献

Density, electrical conductivity and viscosity of binary liquid mixtures of γ-butyrolactone, (GBL) with 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [pmim][NTf2], were measured at different temperatures from (293.15 to 323.15) K and at atmospheric pressure (p = 0.1 MPa) over the whole composition range. Excess molar volumes have been calculated from the experimental densities and were fitted with Redlich–Kister’s polynomial equation. Other volumetric properties have been also calculated in order to obtain information about interactions between GBL and selected ionic liquid. All the results are compared with those obtained for binary mixtures of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [bmim][NTf2], with GBL. From the viscosity measurements, the Angell strength parameter was calculated for pure ionic liquid indicating that [pmim][NTf2] is a “fragile” liquid. Electrical conductivity results were discussed in the scope of Bahe–Varela theoretical model.  相似文献

Many chemical processes rely extensively on organic solvents posing safety and environmental concerns. For a successful transfer of some of those chemical processes and reactions to aqueous media, agents acting as solubilizers, or phase-modifiers, are of central importance. In the present work, the structure of aqueous solutions of several ionic liquid systems capable of forming multiple solubilizing environments were modeled by molecular dynamics simulations. The effect of small aliphatic chains on solutions of hydrophobic 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethyl)sulfonylimide ionic liquids (with alkyl = propyl [C3C1im][NTf2], butyl [C4C1im][NTf2] and isobutyl [iC4C1im][NTf2]) are covered first. Next, we focus on the interactions of sulphonate- and carboxylate-based anions with different hydrogenated and perfluorinated alkyl side chains in solutions of [C2C1im][CnF2n+1SO3], [C2C1im][CnH2n+1SO3], [C2C1im][CF3CO2] and [C2C1im][CH3CO2] (n = 1, 4, 8). The last system considered is an ionic liquid completely miscible with water that combines the cation N-methyl-N,N,N-tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium [N1 2OH 2OH 2OH]+, with high hydrogen-bonding capability, and the hydrophobic anion [NTf2]. The interplay between short- and long-range interactions, clustering of alkyl and perfluoroalkyl tails, and hydrogen bonding enables a wealth of possibilities in tailoring an ionic liquid solution according to the needs.  相似文献

Amino acid methyl esters were used as amine nucleophiles in palladium catalysed aminocarbonylation of iodobenzene and iodoalkenes (1-iodo-cyclohexene and 17-iodo-androst-16-ene). 2-Oxo-carboxamide type derivatives can be isolated as a result of double CO insertion by using iodobenzene as a substrate at elevated carbon monoxide pressure. On the contrary, carboxamides of expected structure were obtained exclusively in excellent yields in the whole pressure range by using iodoalkenes. The aminocarbonylation of 17-iodo-androst-16-ene in [bmim][PF6] or [bmim][BF4] (where bmim=1-butyl-3-methyl-imidazolium cation) ionic liquids was also carried out and the ionic liquid-catalyst mixtures have been reused several times with only a small loss of activity.  相似文献

This article represents a step towards how to choose an ionic liquid as the solvent to improve metal ion (Ag+ and Pb2+) extraction. The liquid-liquid solvent extraction is proposed with the following imidazolium ionic liquids (ILs): 1-ethyl-3-ethylimidazolium, or 1-butyl-3-ethylimidazolium, or 1-hexyl-3-ethylimidazolium bis{(trifluoromethyl)sylfonyl}imide [EEIM][NTf2], or [BEIM][NTf2], or [HEIM][NTf2], or 1-butyl-3-ethylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [BEIM][PF6], or 1-hexyl-3-ethylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [HEIM][PF6] and the popular 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [BMIM][PF6] for comparison. The effect of anion type (NTf2 versus PF6) and the effect of structural components of an ionic liquid including alkyl chain length at the cation and the ethyl substituent instead methyl at the cation, on the extraction and re-extraction processes by using dithizone as a metal chelator, were studied at 296 K. Dithizone was employed to form neutral metal-dithizone complexes with heavy metal ions to extract them from aqueous solution into the ILs. The amino induced elimination of benzisoxazole into the relevant o-cyanophenolate ion (Kemp elimination) has been studied in [bmim][BF 4] solution at 298 K. To have information about the interactions between reactants and ionic liquid, the reaction has been carried out at different temperatures (293-313 K). Several primary, secondary, and tertiary amines have been used to study the effect of amine structure on the reaction rate. The collected data show that the amine structure seems to have a crucial role in determining the reaction rate. Furthermore, as different cation or anion structures of an ionic liquid can significantly affect its properties, the title reaction has been performed in four different ionic liquids ([bmim][PF6], [bmim][NTf 2], [bm 2im][NTf 2], and [bmpyrr][NTf 2]), using pyrrolidine and piperidine as model amines. An H-donor negative solvent (MeOH and [bmim][NTf 2]) effect on reaction rate was detected. Finally, a narrow range of activation parameters was calculated both for the reaction induced by different amines and for pyrrolidine and piperidine, in the presence of different ILs. This fact suggests the occurrence of an "early" transition state.  相似文献

The chelation-controlled asymmetric aminohalogenation of α,β-unsaturated 3-aryl-N-acyl-N-4-phenyl-2-oxazolidinones have been established by using palladium(II) acetate as the catalyst and as the chelation metal. The reaction is very convenient to perform by simply mixing the three reactants, cinnamates, N,N-dichloro-p-toluenesulfonamide and catalyst together with 4 Å molecular sieves at rt in any convenient vial of appropriate size without special protection from inert gases. Unlike the previous asymmetric aminohalogenation, the ionic liquid, [BMIM][NTf2], was found to be superior to [BMIM][BF4] as the reaction media. It was also found that palladium(II) acetate has to be used together with 1 equiv of MeCN to achieve the opposite chelation control. The resulting absolute stereochemistry of the product was unambiguously determined by X-ray structural analysis.  相似文献

We have used Raman spectroscopy to investigate the high-pressure phase behavior of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim][BF4]), a representative ionic liquid, at pressures up to ~7.5 GPa. We have also studied how increasing pressure leads to conformational changes in the [bmim]+ cation. We have found that liquid [bmim][BF4] undergoes pressure-induced solidification (freezing) into a superpressed (metastable) state at 2.5 GPa; another structural change probably occurs at ~6 GPa. Remarkably, conformational changes in the [bmim]+ cation between trans and gauche conformers are concordant with the metastable structural changes of [bmim][BF4]. As the pressure is increased from ambient, the fraction of gauche conformers increases, but the gauche fraction decreases above the solidification pressure (2.5 GPa), and slope of the gauche/trans ratio changes again above 6 GPa. We interpret these results in terms of the fragility of the ionic liquid.  相似文献

X-ray diffraction measurements for the ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [BMIM][BF4], mixed with CO2 were carried out at high pressures using our developed polymer cell. The intermolecular distribution functions obtained for [BMIM][BF4]–CO2 mixtures showed that CO2 molecules are preferentially solvated to the [BF4] anion. The similar preferential solvation was previously observed in analogous 1-btuyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate, [BMIM][PF6], with a different anion, which is in harmony with the present results in [BMIM][BF4]–CO2.  相似文献

The present work is devoted to the thermochemical study of solvation of ionic liquids (IL) in benzene. The solution enthalpies of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tricyanomethanide [EMIM][C(CN)3], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [BMIM][BF4], 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate [HMIM][PF6], 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate [OMIM][BF4], 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [EMIM][NTf2], 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide [BMIM][NTf2] and 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate [BMIM][TfO] in benzene were measured. The solvation enthalpies of imidazolium-based IL were calculated. Molar refractions of imidazolium-based IL form literature data on density and refractive indexes of IL were also calculated. The linear correlation between solvation enthalpy and molar refraction of IL was observed. This correlation can be used to calculate the vaporization enthalpy of imidazolium-based IL from solution calorimetry data.  相似文献

The enzymatic synthesis of polyesters by ring-opening polymerization (ROP) and polycondensation in three ionic liquids, i.e., [bmim][Tf2N], [bmim][PF6] and [bmim][BF4] was investigated. For the enzymatic ROP of ε-caprolactone it was found that [bmim][PF6] and [bmim][BF4] result in an inhomogeneous reaction mixture upon polymerization, causing polymerization characteristics similar to bulk polymerization. In contrast, for [bmim][Tf2N] characteristics similar to toluene were observed. Molecular weights of 7000-9500 g/mol were obtained. In the polycondensation of dimethyl adipate and dimethyl sebacate, respectively, with 1,4-butanol the low volatility of ionic liquids was successfully utilized to perform the reactions in an open vessel at temperatures close to the boiling point of the condensation by-product. Molecular weights up to 5400 g/mol were obtained. This, in combination with the tunable solvent hydrophilicity of ionic liquids could offer an advantage in the polymerization of highly polar monomers with low solubility in organic solvents.  相似文献

Song and Mason equation of state (EOS) with a simple modification has been extended to modelling PVT properties of ionic liquids (ILs). The considered ILs are [C1mim][MeSO4], [C1mim][CH3OC2H5SO4], [C1mim][(CH3)2PO4], [C2mim][MeSO4], [C2mim][BF4], [C2mim][SCN], [C2eim][NTf2], [C4mim][C(CN)3], [C4mim][CF3SO3], [C4mim][SCN], [C5mim][NTf2], [C8mim][NTf2], [(C6H13)3P(C14H29)][Cl], [(C6H13)3P(C14H29)][NTf2], [(C6H13)3P(C14H29)][Ac], [C3mpyr][NTf2], [C4mpyr][NTf2] and [Py][C2H5OC2H4SO4]. Three temperature-dependent parameters in the proposed EOS have been scaled as functions of reduced temperature with the use of the law of corresponding states. It is shown that the knowledge of just critical temperature and critical density is sufficient to predict the PVT properties of these ILs. The overall average absolute deviation of calculated densities from literature values for 1347 data points of 18 ILs was found to be 0.58%. The predicted density of ILs from proposed EOS has been compared with those obtained by other literature work. Moreover, we indicate that the Zeno line regularity can well be predicted by proposed model for ILs.  相似文献

Cyclic voltammetric measurements at platinum electrode have been carried out to investigate the electrochemical oxidation of ascorbic acid and uric acid in ionic liquid, [bmim][BF4]. It is important that a typical redox couple of ascorbic acid was obtained and it is oxidized to dehydroascorbic acid in [bmim][BF4]. However, there is no electron-transfer for uric acid and no electrochemical oxidation carried out in the same ionic liquid. It provides a new way to eliminate the interfering between ascorbic acid and uric acid in the study of the electrochemical behaviors for them.  相似文献
