For all subgroups H of a cyclic p-group G we define norm functors that build a G-Mackey functor from an H-Mackey functor. We give an explicit construction of these functors in terms of generators and relations based solely on the intrinsic, algebraic properties of Mackey functors and Tambara functors. We use these norm functors to define a monoidal structure on the category of Mackey functors where Tambara functors are the commutative ring objects.  相似文献

We establish the homological foundations for studying polynomially bounded group cohomology, and show that the natural map from PH*(G;Q) to H*(G;Q) is an isomorphism for a certain class of groups.  相似文献

We prove relations between the evaluations of cohomological Mackey functors over complete discrete valuation rings or fields and apply this to Mackey functors that arise naturally in number theory. This provides relations between λ- and μ-invariants in Iwasawa theory, between Mordell-Weil groups, Shafarevich-Tate groups, Selmer groups and zeta functions of elliptic curves, and between ideal class groups and regulators of number fields.  相似文献

Suppose k is a field. Let A and B be two finite dimensional k-algebras such that there is a stable equivalence of Morita type between A and B. In this paper, we prove that (1) if A and B are representation-finite then their Auslander algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type; (2) The n-th Hochschild homology groups of A and B are isomorphic for all n≥1. A new proof is also provided for Hochschild cohomology groups of self-injective algebras under a stable equivalence of Morita type.  相似文献

Let Uζ be the quantum group (Lusztig form) associated to the simple Lie algebra g, with parameter ζ specialized to an ?-th root of unity in a field of characteristic p>0. In this paper we study certain finite-dimensional normal Hopf subalgebras Uζ(Gr) of Uζ, called Frobenius-Lusztig kernels, which generalize the Frobenius kernels Gr of an algebraic group G. When r=0, the algebras studied here reduce to the small quantum group introduced by Lusztig. We classify the irreducible Uζ(Gr)-modules and discuss their characters. We then study the cohomology rings for the Frobenius-Lusztig kernels and for certain nilpotent and Borel subalgebras corresponding to unipotent and Borel subgroups of G. We prove that the cohomology ring for the first Frobenius-Lusztig kernel is finitely-generated when g has type A or D, and that the cohomology rings for the nilpotent and Borel subalgebras are finitely-generated in general.  相似文献

Classical homological algebra takes place in additive categories. In homotopy theory such additive categories arise as homotopy categories of “additive groupoid enriched categories”, in which a secondary analog of homological algebra can be performed. We introduce secondary chain complexes and secondary resolutions leading to the concept of secondary derived functors. As a main result we show that the E3-term of the Adams spectral sequence can be expressed as a secondary derived functor. This result can be used to compute the E3-term explicitly by an algorithm.  相似文献

Following the work [B. Deng, J. Du, Frobenius morphisms and representations of algebras, Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 358 (2006) 3591-3622], we show that a Frobenius morphism F on an algebra A induces naturally a functor F on the (bounded) derived category Db(A) of , and we further prove that the derived category Db(AF) of for the F-fixed point algebra AF is naturally embedded as the triangulated subcategory Db(A)F of F-stable objects in Db(A). When applying the theory to an algebra with finite global dimension, we discover a folding relation between the Auslander-Reiten triangles in Db(AF) and those in Db(A). Thus, the AR-quiver of Db(AF) can be obtained by folding the AR-quiver of Db(A). Finally, we further extend this relation to the root categories ?(AF) of AF and ?(A) of A, and show that, when A is hereditary, this folding relation over the indecomposable objects in ?(AF) and ?(A) results in the same relation on the associated root systems as induced from the graph folding relation.  相似文献

Let G be a connected reductive algebraic group and B   be a Borel subgroup defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic p>0p>0. In this paper, the authors study the existence of generic G-cohomology and its stability with rational G-cohomology groups via the use of methods from the authors' earlier work. New results on the vanishing of G and B  -cohomology groups are presented. Furthermore, vanishing ranges for the associated finite group cohomology of G(Fq)G(Fq) are established which generalize earlier work of Hiller, in addition to stability ranges for generic cohomology which improve on seminal work of Cline, Parshall, Scott and van der Kallen.  相似文献

We develop some new aspects of cohomology in the context of semi-abelian categories: we establish a Hochschild-Serre 5-term exact sequence extending the classical one for groups and Lie algebras; we prove that an object is perfect if and only if it admits a universal central extension; we show how the second Barr-Beck cohomology group classifies isomorphism classes of central extensions; we prove a universal coefficient theorem to explain the relationship with homology.  相似文献

Let R be any ring (with 1), G a torsion free group and RG the corresponding group ring. Let be the cohomology ring associated with the RG-module M. Let H be a subgroup of finite index of G. The following is a special version of our main Theorem: Assume the profinite completion of G is torsion free. Then an element is nilpotent (under Yoneda’s product) if and only if its restriction to is nilpotent. In particular this holds for the Thompson group. There are torsion free groups for which the analogous statement is false.  相似文献

We define H-Galois extensions for k-linear categories and prove the existence of a Grothendieck spectral sequence for Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology related to this situation. This spectral sequence is multiplicative and for a group algebra decomposes as a direct sum indexed by conjugacy classes of the group. We also compute some Hochschild-Mitchell cohomology groups of categories with infinite associated quivers.  相似文献
