Low-lying states of theN=50 nucleus87Rb have been investigated in the (, ') reaction measuring- and delayed-rf-coincidences. A half-life ofT 1/2=6(1) ns was obtained for the level at 1578.1 keV. This experimental result confirms the 9/2+ assignment and the proton 1g9/2 single-particle character of this state. Experimental M2 transition strengths in85,87Rb are compared with predictions of the shell model and the particle-core coupling model.This work was partly supported by the Bulgarian National Research Foundation.  相似文献

Experimental data of the elastic scattering of-particles on10B forE = 30–50.6 MeV are presented. They are analysed together with the data of a previous measurement forE = 5–30 MeV in the frame of the optical model including spin-orbit coupling. The interaction radii of the-10B-systems are determined with the Inopin-Ericson model forE = 5–50 MeV. The mean free path of-particles in10B is calculated.  相似文献

Production of strange and charm particles by hadron-proton collisions is analyzed in terms of a fire-ball (FB) model assuming the multiplicity of secondaries of a given massm, to be proportional to the FB mass: n(m)M *, the FB kinematics being determined by the Feynman-Yang scaling, as in the case of production. It is found that (m)1/m 2 and that, using this property together with the scaling, no-free-parameter fits to currently available data of strange and charm particles frompp and p collisions are satisfactory, as well as for the photoproduction of charm mesonD and charm hyperon c .  相似文献

One expects a similarity of the energy dependence of the difference tot(*p)– tot(*n) for virtual (deep inelastic scatteringQ 2m 2) and real (Q 2=0) photons. The uncertainties in interpreting photon bremsstrahlung in the process with matrix element calculations ofO(s) are discussed. We address the stability of the calculations with respect to the emission of collinear photons and to higher-order QCD corrections and discuss the bias due to experimental photon isolation cuts. We analyze the resulting uncertainties for various procedures to define an event with a final state photon. Of particular interest are (i) a two-step procedure where first jets are reconstructed from hadrons alone and in a second step the photon is required to be isolated from these jets, and (ii) a democratic procedure where the photon is inculded in the jet reconstruction but a certain maximum hadronic energy is allowed in the photon jet. In both cases we estimate that the uncertainties of the theoretical predictions, hadronization effects and the experimental photon isolation are of the order of 4%. To obtain this level of accuracy, however, the democratic procedure requires very hard cuts that reduce the event samples significantly.  相似文献

From the analysis of a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.63 pb–1 taken during the 1990 run of LEP at centre of mass energies between 88.2 GeV an 94.2 GeV, the tau decays and their charge conjugates have been studied. The following branching ratios have been measured; , , Br( (K)v)=11.9±0.7±0.7%, BR ( v)= 22.4±0.8±1.3%, in good agreement with world averages. The measured electronic and muonic branching ratios lead to a measurement of the strong coupling constant, s (m) = 0.26 –0.12 +0.09 . Extrapolating the s value fromm tom Z yields s (mZ) = 0.109 –0.028 +0.012 .The average polarizationP of taus produced in Z s s decays has also been measured using the above decay modes. The weighted mean of the polarizations obtained from the four decay modes isP =–0.24±0.07. This value ofP gives, in the improved Born approximation, a ratio between the axial and vector coupling constants of the tau of /a = 0.12 ± 0.04, and hence a value of the effective electroweak mixing parameter sin2 W(m Z 2 ).  相似文献

Using experimental results on |V ub /V cb |, (K0), (B0) and two experimental limits onm t , and assuming that these five observations are fully described by standard physics, we determine values and errors for the two CKM matrix parameters and with a maximum-likelihood fit. The systematics of-decay modes and radiative widths of highly excited states in28Si has been extended by taking-ray spectra on 60 resonances of the27Al(p,) reaction in the range 1097 keVE p 4492 keV (12643 keVE x 15915 keV) and on the24Mg(,) resonances atE =3355, 3431, 4003 keV (E x =12860, 12925, 13 415 keV). The-decay modes of levels in the sub-resonance region (E x =10–12.5 MeV) were studied with both the27 A1(p, ) reaction and the27 A1(d, n) reaction at Ed=4,5,6 MeV. Information on radiative widths of levels was obtained by measuring the resonance strengthsS =(2I+1) p / for 52 resonances of the27Al(p, ) reaction with an emphasis on prospective T=1 states.  相似文献

Near threshold photoproduction of-mesons from the proton has been measured at the MAMI accelerator with the TAPS spectrometer. The mass of the-meson was deduced from the threshold energy for-photoproduction. The result of m =(547.12 ± 0.06 ± 0.25) MeV supports the low value of the-mass reported from a dp 3He measurement at SATURNE in 1992. Two new neutron-deficient isotopes,213Pa and214Pa were produced in complete fusion reactions of51V-ions with170Er targets at (5.2–5.6) AMeV. The assignment was based on delayed evaporation residue - - time and position coincidences. The- decay energies of213,214Pa were measured to be E=(8236±20) keV and E=(8116±20) keV, respectively. The half-lives of213,214Pa were determined to be T1/2=(5.3 –1.6 +4.0 ms and T1/2=(17 ±3) ms, respectively.This article was processed by the author using the LATEX style filecljour2 from Springer-Verlag.  相似文献

In an experiment carried out to identify element 110, we have observed an-decay chain, that can be unambiguously assigned to269110. In a scries of preexperiments the excitation functions of the fusion reactions50Ti +208Pb258104* and58Fe +208Pb266108* were measured with high precision in order to get the optimum projectile energies for the production of these heavy elements. The cross-section maxima of the 1n evaporation channels were observed at excitation energies of 15.6 MeV and 13.4 MeV, respectively. These data result in an optimum excitation energy of 12.3 MeV of the compound nucleus for the production of269110 in the reaction62Ni +208Pb269110 + 1n. In irradiations at the corresponding beam energy of 311 MeV we have observed a decay chain of 4 subsequent a decays. This can be assigned to the isotope with the mass number 269 of the element 110 on the basis of delayed - coincidences. The accurately measured decay data of the daughter isotopes of the elements 108 to 102, obtained in the previous experiments, were used. The isotope269110 decays with a hair-life of (270 -120 +1300 ) s by emission of (11.132±0.020) MeV alpha particles. The production cross-section is (3.3 -2.7 +6.2 ) pb.  相似文献

The couplings of conventional and hybrid mesons to (real and virtual) and their production amplitudes in M are described in a unified manner. Existing results for heavy quarks are recovered, extensions to light quarks and to virtual couplings are made and phenomenological applications discussed. In particular we discuss relativistic corrections to 0+, 1+, 2+ for both real and virtual photons and offer a resolution to a long standing puzzle in perturbative QCD concerning the helicity structure of 2++. We suggest that the production off 2 (1720) involves gluons in an essential way or that this meson hasJ2.  相似文献

The130Te(,n)133Xe,130Te(,p)133I,130Te(,pn)132I and130Te(, n)129Te excitation functions for alpha particle energies between 14.7 and 36.5 MeV are presented. Excitation functions for the last three reactions are measured for the first time and more consistent results for (, n) are obtained. The isomeric ratios for the ( n), (, pn) and (, n) reactions were deduced. Calculations based on different theoretical models of equilibrium and preequilibrium decay are compared with the experimental results and discussed. Acceptable presentation of the energy behavior of the measured isomeric ratios was obtained when higher angular momentum depletion for preequilibrium emitted particles was included. The absolute values of the isomeric ratios however remain overestimated.We want to express our gratitude to Prof. Ts. Vylov and Dr. V. Detailed calculations of far infrared absorption in ultrafine metallic particles are reported. Effective medium treatments of the composite of particles and their surrounding are carried out within the Maxwell Garnett and Bruggeman theories. Generalizations of these to encompass dipole-dipole interaction and oxide pellicles are discussed. The dielectric permeability of the particles is specified either by the Drude (D) model with a size limited mean free path, or by the quantum mechanical derivation of Gor'kov and Éliashberg (GE). Excepting narrow diameter (x) and frequency ( ) intervals the absorption coefficients can be approximated by =fCx , wheref is the filling factor (taken to be small),C is a constant which depends on the free electron parameters, and and are integers. Results for largerfs are included also. The magnitudes ofC, and differ in general for the Drude and Gor'kov-Éliashberg theories; they are also different forxx C , wherex D C 5 nm andx GE C is typically 20 nm. The quantityx c signifies a transition from a range where is dominated by the dielectric polarisation to one where the magnetic polarisation is largest. An interesting multiple peak structure is found from detailed calculations of GE vs. for sufficiently small identical particles. The decays of neutral kaons produced in decay, K L K S , exhibit interesting quantum mechanical interference. The effects of this phenomenon on searches for CP violation have been previously been worked out for two body decays where the decay amplitude is a simple constant. For three body modes where the matrix element varies across the kinematically allowed region, the quantum correlations with enhance or cancel certain terms in the decay distribution. We work out the results for two interesting modes ()() and (3)(3). In the former case, the quantum correlation allows the isolation of the direct emission component of the decay, while in the latter case the intensity asymmetry can uniquely pick out the direct CP violating amplitude.Research supported in part by the National Science Foundation  相似文献

The divergent large-order behaviour of the perturbative series relevant for the determination of s from decay is controlled by the leading ultraviolet (UV) renormalon. Even in the absence of the first infrared (IR) renormalon, an ambiguity of order 2/m 2 is introduced. We make a quantitative study of the practical implications of this ambiguity. We discuss the magnitude of UV renormalon corrections obtained in the large-N f limit, which, although unrealistic, is nevertheless interesting to some extent. We then study a number of improved approximants for the perturbative series, based on a change of variable in the Borel representation, such as to displace the leading UV renormalon singularity at a larger distance from the origin than the first IR renormalon. The spread of the resulting values of s (m 2) obtained by different approximants, at different renormalization scales, is exhibited as a measure of the underlying ambiguities. Finally, on the basis of mathematical models, we discuss the prospects of an actual improvement, given the signs and magnitudes of the computed coefficients, the size of s (m 2) and what is known of the asymptotic properties of the series. Our conclusion is that a realistic estimate of the theoretical error cannot go below s (m 2)±0.060, or s (m Z 2)±0.006.On leave of absence from INFN, Sezione di Milano, Milan, Italy  相似文献

The resonant states in the key reaction8Li(,n)11B for the inhomogeneous Big Bang Models were studied experimentally through the9Be(,p)12B reaction at 64 MeV. This reaction is found to excite all the resonances of interest in12B. The most crucial resonant state at 10.572 MeV in12B (0.572 MeV above the threshold) was found to have tot20±10 keV and J=(1), suggesting that the S-factor of the (,n) process should be larger than that obtained before.  相似文献

The absolute cross section of the fusion reaction 10B(p, 1)7 has been measured at the c.m. energy range E=48 to 159 keV via the 429 keV secondary -ray transition. The studies involved high proton currents and thick solid 10Btargets.
