Let E and F be Banach spaces, f: UEF be a map of C r (r ⩾ 1), x 0U, and ft (x 0) denote the FréLechet differential of f at x 0. Suppose that f′(x 0) is double split, Rank(f′(x 0)) = ∞, dimN(f′(x 0)) > 0 and codimR(f′(x 0)) s> 0. The rank theorem in advanced calculus asks to answer what properties of f ensure that f(x) is conjugate to f′(x 0) near x 0. We have proved that the conclusion of the theorem is equivalent to one kind of singularities for bounded linear operators, i.e., x 0 is a locally fine point for f′(x) or generalized regular point of f(x); so, a complete rank theorem in advanced calculus is established, i.e., a sufficient and necessary condition such that the conclusion of the theorem to be held is given.   相似文献

Consider an operator equation B(u) − f = 0 in a real Hilbert space. Let us call this equation ill-posed if the operator B′(u) is not boundedly invertible, and well-posed otherwise. The dynamical systems method (DSM) for solving this equation consists of a construction of a Cauchy problem, which has the following properties: (1) it has a global solution for an arbitrary initial data, (2) this solution tends to a limit as time tends to infinity, (3) the limit is the minimal-norm solution to the equation B(u) = f. A global convergence theorem is proved for DSM for equation B(u) − f = 0 with monotone operators B.  相似文献

The paper studies differential equations of the form u′(x) = f(x, u(x), λ(x)), u(x0) = u0, where the right‐hand side is merely measurable in x. In particular sufficient conditions for the continuous and the differentiable dependence of solution u on the data and on the parameter λ are stated. © 2011 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Applications of locally fine property for operators are further developed. LetE andF be Banach spaces andF:U(x 0)⊂EF be C1 nonlinear map, whereU (x 0) is an open set containing pointx 0E. With the locally fine property for Frechet derivativesf′(x) and generalized rank theorem forf′(x), a local conjugacy theorem, i. e. a characteristic condition forf being conjugate tof′(x 0) near x0,is proved. This theorem gives a complete answer to the local conjugacy problem. Consequently, several rank theorems in advanced calculus are established, including a theorem for C1 Fredholm map which has been so far unknown. Also with this property the concept of regular value is extended, which gives rise to a generalized principle for constructing Banach submanifolds.  相似文献

In this paper, we determine the general solution of the functional equation f1 (2x + y) + f2(2x - y) = f3(x + y) + f4(x - y) + f5(x) without assuming any regularity condition on the unknown functions f1,f2,f3, f4, f5 : R→R. The general solution of this equation is obtained by finding the general solution of the functional equations f(2x + y) + f(2x - y) = g(x + y) + g(x - y) + h(x) and f(2x + y) - f(2x - y) = g(x + y) - g(x - y). The method used for solving these functional equations is elementary but exploits an important result due to Hosszfi. The solution of this functional equation can also be determined in certain type of groups using two important results due to Szekelyhidi.  相似文献

We consider solutions of the singular diffusion equation t, = (um?1 ux)x, m ≦ 0, associated with the flux boundary condition limx→?∞ (um?1ux)x = λ > 0. The evolutions defined by this problem depend on both m and λ. We prove existence and stability of traveling wave solutions, parameterized by λ. Each traveling wave is stable in its appropriate evolution. These traveling waves are in L1 for ?1 < m ≦ 0, but have non-integrable tails for m ≦ ?1. We also show that these traveling waves are the same as those for the scalar conservation law ut = ?[f(u)]x + uxx for a particular nonlinear convection term f(u) = f(u;m, λ). © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

We investigate the behaviour of solution uu(x, t; λ) at λ =  λ* for the non-local porous medium equation ${u_t = (u^n)_{xx} + {\lambda}f(u)/({\int_{-1}^1} f(u){\rm d}x)^2}We investigate the behaviour of solution uu(x, t; λ) at λ =  λ* for the non-local porous medium equation ut = (un)xx + lf(u)/(ò-11 f(u)dx)2{u_t = (u^n)_{xx} + {\lambda}f(u)/({\int_{-1}^1} f(u){\rm d}x)^2} with Dirichlet boundary conditions and positive initial data. The function f satisfies: f(s),−f ′ (s) > 0 for s ≥ 0 and s n-1 f(s) is integrable at infinity. Due to the conditions on f, there exists a critical value of parameter λ, say λ*, such that for λ > λ* the solution u = u(x, t; λ) blows up globally in finite time, while for λ ≥ λ* the corresponding steady-state problem does not have any solution. For 0 < λ < λ* there exists a unique steady-state solution w = w(x; λ) while u = u(x, t; λ) is global in time and converges to w as t → ∞. Here we show the global grow-up of critical solution u* =  u(x, t; λ*) (u* (x, t) → ∞, as t → ∞ for all x ? (-1,1){x\in(-1,1)}.  相似文献

A holomorphic functionf defined on the unit disk d is called a Bloch function provided {fx73-02} For α ∃ (0,1] letB∞(α)denote the class of locally univalent Bloch functionsf normalized by ∥fB ≤1f(0) = 0 andf’(0) = α. A type of subordination theorem is established for B∞(α). This subordination theorem is used to derive sharp growth, distortion, curvature and covering theorems for B∞(α). A dual integral equations on the whole real axis with an unknown function f is considered. It is supposed that the kernel functions of the equations are even and representable as superposition of exponents. The equation is transferred to a system of integral equations on the positive semi-axis with two unknown functions: f 1(x) = f(x) and f 2(x) = f(−x). Applying a factorization method and using the solution of Ambartsumian equation, a system of Laplace transforms α 1, α 2 of functions f 1, f 2 is obtained. Under some conditions on the free term, the existence and uniqueness of the solution of that system is proved in the semi-conservative case. A construction of the functions α 1, α 2 is given by means of successive approximations, and a construction method of the solution (f 1, f 2) by α 1, α 2 is described.  相似文献

Let k(y) > 0, 𝓁(y) > 0 for y > 0, k(0) = 𝓁(0) = 0 and limy → 0k(y)/𝓁(y) exists; then the equation L(u) ≔ k(y)uxx – ∂y(𝓁(y)uy) + a(x, y)ux = f(x, y, u) is strictly hyperbolic for y > 0 and its order degenerates on the line y = 0. Consider the boundary value problem Lu = f(x, y, u) in G, u|AC = 0, where G is a simply connected domain in ℝ2 with piecewise smooth boundary ∂G = ABACBC; AB = {(x, 0) : 0 ≤ x ≤ 1}, AC : x = F(y) = ∫y0(k(t)/𝓁(t))1/2dt and BC : x = 1 – F(y) are characteristic curves. Existence of generalized solution is obtained by a finite element method, provided f(x, y, u) satisfies Carathéodory condition and |f(x, y, u)| ≤ Q(x, y) + b|u| with QL2(G), b = const > 0. It is shown also that each generalized solution is a strong solution, and that fact is used to prove uniqueness under the additional assumption |f(x, y, u1) – f(x, y, u2| ≤ C|u1u2|, where C = const > 0.  相似文献

Let X be a real Banach space, ω : [0, +∞) → ? be an increasing continuous function such that ω(0) = 0 and ω(t + s) ≤ ω(t) + ω(s) for all t, s ∈ [0, +∞). According to the infinite dimensional analog of the Osgood theorem if ∫10 (ω(t))?1 dt = ∞, then for any (t0, x0) ∈ ?×X and any continuous map f : ?×XX such that ∥f(t, x) – f(t, y)∥ ≤ ω(∥xy∥) for all t ∈ ?, x, yX, the Cauchy problem (t) = f(t, x(t)), x(t0) = x0 has a unique solution in a neighborhood of t0. We prove that if X has a complemented subspace with an unconditional Schauder basis and ∫10 (ω(t))?1 dt < ∞ then there exists a continuous map f : ? × XX such that ∥f(t, x) – f(t, y)∥ ≤ ω(∥xy∥) for all (t, x, y) ∈ ? × X × X and the Cauchy problem (t) = f(t, x(t)), x(t0) = x0 has no solutions in any interval of the real line.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a nonlinear integrodifferential equation (the delay logistic equation) governing the growth dynamics of a single species N(t) for time t > 0. This equation contains a positive parameter λ. Suppose that there exists a positive equilibrium solution N = c which is stable for all small values of λ. Assume also that this solution loses stability as λ is increased past a critical value λ*. This will correspond to a simple pure imaginary conjugate pair of roots of a characteristic equation associated with the linearized stability of N = c at λ = λ*. Then we will construct a unique bifurcating time periodic solution of the equation as a Taylor series in a parameter ε. Furthermore this solution exists either for supercritical values of the parameter (λ > λ*) or for subcritical values (λ < λ*). The stability behavior of this small periodic solution can be characterized according to whether the bifurcation is supercritical or subcritical-supercritical solutions are stable, but subcritical solutions are unstable. Therefore these results are analogous to Hoprs bifurcation theorem for autonomous systems of differential equations.  相似文献

We will investigate the stability problem of the quadratic equation (1) and extend the results of Borelli and Forti, Czerwik, and Rassias. By applying this result and an improved theorem of the author, we will also prove the stability of the quadratic functional equation of Pexider type,f 1 (x +y) + f2(x -y) =f 3(x) +f 4(y), for a large class of functions.  相似文献

We consider the class of equations ut=f(uxx, ux, u) under the restriction that for all a,b,c. We first consider this equation over the unbounded domain ? ∞ < x < + ∞, and we show that very nearly every bounded nonmonotonic solution of the form u(t, x)=?(x?ct) is unstable to all nonnegative and all nonpositive perturbations. We then extend these results to nonmonotonic plane wave solutions u(t, x, y)=?(x?ct) of ut = F(uxx, uxy, ux, uy, u). Finally, we consider the class of equations ut=f(uxx, ux, u) over the bounded domain 0 < x < 1 with the boundary conditions u(t, x)=A at x=0 and u(t, x)=B at x=1, and we find the stability of all steady solutions u(t, x)=?(x).  相似文献

Let us assume that A and B are non-empty subsets of a metric space. In view of the fact that a non-self mapping T:A?B does not necessarily have a fixed point, it is of considerable significance to explore the existence of an element x that is as close to Tx as possible. In other words, when the fixed point equation Tx=x has no solution, then it is attempted to determine an approximate solution x such that the error d(x,Tx) is minimum. Indeed, best proximity point theorems investigate the existence of such optimal approximate solutions, known as best proximity points, of the fixed point equation Tx=x when there is no solution. Because d(x,Tx) is at least d(A,B), a best proximity point theorem ascertains an absolute minimum of the error d(x,Tx) by stipulating an approximate solution x of the fixed point equation Tx=x to satisfy the condition that d(x,Tx)=d(A,B). This article establishes best proximity point theorems for proximal contractions, thereby extending Banach’s contraction principle to the case of non-self mappings.  相似文献

We consider the nonlinear operator equation B(λ)x + R(x, λ) = 0 with parameter λ, which is an element of a linear normed space Λ. The linear operator B(λ) has no bounded inverse for λ = 0. The range of the operator B(0) can be nonclosed. The nonlinear operator R(x, λ) is continuous in a neighborhood of zero and R(0, 0) = 0. We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of a continuous solution x(λ) → 0 as λ → 0 with maximal order of smallness in an open set S of the space Λ. The zero of the space Λ belongs to the boundary of the set S. The solutions are constructed by the method of successive approximations.  相似文献

The main theorem states that if f(x 1, x 2, x 3) is an indefinite anisotropic integral quadratic form with determinant d(f), and t a non-zero integer such that d(f)t is square-free, then as long as there is one integer solution to f(x 1, x 2, x 3) = t there are infinitely many such solutions for which the product x 1 x 2 x 3 has at most 26 prime factors. The proof relies on the affine linear sieve and in particular automorphic spectral methods to obtain a sharp level of distribution in the associated counting problem. The 26 comes from applying the sharpest known bounds towards Selberg’s eigenvalue conjecture. Assuming the latter the number 26 may be reduced to 22.  相似文献

An Application of a Mountain Pass Theorem   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
We are concerned with the following Dirichlet problem: −Δu(x) = f(x, u), x∈Ω, uH 1 0(Ω), (P) where f(x, t) ∈C (×ℝ), f(x, t)/t is nondecreasing in t∈ℝ and tends to an L -function q(x) uniformly in x∈Ω as t→ + ∞ (i.e., f(x, t) is asymptotically linear in t at infinity). In this case, an Ambrosetti-Rabinowitz-type condition, that is, for some θ > 2, M > 0, 0 > θF(x, s) ≤f(x, s)s, for all |s|≥M and x∈Ω, (AR) is no longer true, where F(x, s) = ∫ s 0 f(x, t)dt. As is well known, (AR) is an important technical condition in applying Mountain Pass Theorem. In this paper, without assuming (AR) we prove, by using a variant version of Mountain Pass Theorem, that problem (P) has a positive solution under suitable conditions on f(x, t) and q(x). Our methods also work for the case where f(x, t) is superlinear in t at infinity, i.e., q(x) ≡ +∞. Received June 24, 1998, Accepted January 14, 2000.  相似文献

We improve some previous existence and nonexistence results for positive principal eigenvalues of the problem —Δpu = λg(xp(u), x ∈ ℝN, limx‖⇒+∞u(x) = 0. Also we discuss existence, nonexistence and antimaximum principle questions concerning the perturbed problem —Δpu = λg(xp(u) + f(x), x∈ ℝN.  相似文献
