We present a new family of biorthogonal wavelet and wavelet packet transforms for discrete periodic signals and a related library of biorthogonal periodic symmetric waveforms. The construction is based on the superconvergence property of the interpolatory polynomial splines of even degrees. The construction of the transforms is performed in a “lifting” manner that allows more efficient implementation and provides tools for custom design of the filters and wavelets. As is common in lifting schemes, the computations can be carried out “in place” and the inverse transform is performed in a reverse order. The difference with the conventional lifting scheme is that all the transforms are implemented in the frequency domain with the use of the fast Fourier transform. Our algorithm allows a stable construction of filters with many vanishing moments. The computational complexity of the algorithm is comparable with the complexity of the standard wavelet transform. Our scheme is based on interpolation and, as such, it involves only samples of signals and it does not require any use of quadrature formulas. In addition, these filters yield perfect frequency resolution.  相似文献

Notions of interpolating variational splines and Paley–Wiener spaces are introduced on a combinatorial graph G. Both of these definitions explore existence of a combinatorial Laplace operator on G. The existence and uniqueness of interpolating variational splines on a graph is shown. As an application of variational splines, the paper presents a reconstruction algorithm of Paley–Wiener functions on graphs from their uniqueness sets.   相似文献

We show that every sub-weak embedding of any singular (degenerate or not) orthogonal or unitary polar space of non-singular rank at least 3 in a projective space PG , a commutative field, is the projection of a full embedding in some subspace PG of PG , where PG contains PG and is a subfield of . The same result is proved in the symplectic case under the assumption that the field over which the polarity is defined is perfect if the characteristic is 2 and if each secant line of the embedded polar space contains exactly two points of . This completes the classification of all sub-weak embeddings of orthogonal, symplectic and unitary polar spaces (singular or not; degenerate or not) of non-singular rank at least 3 and defined over a commutative field , where in the characteristic 2 case is perfect if the polar space is symplectic and the degree of the embedding is 2.  相似文献

The continuous wavelet transform has become a widely used tool in applied science during the last decade. In this article we discuss some generalizations coming from actions of closed subgroups H of GL(n,R) acting on R n . If R n has finitely many open orbits under the transposed action of H such that the union has full measure, then L 2(R n ) decomposes into finitely many irreducible representations, L 2(R n )V 1V k under the action of the semidirect product H× s R n . It is well known, that the space V j contains an admissible vector if and only if the stabilizer in H t of every point in V j is compact. In this article we discuss the case where the stabilizer of a generic point in R n is not compact, but a symmetric subgroup, a case that has not previously been discussed in the literature. In particular we show, that the wavelet transform can always be inverted in this case.  相似文献

In this research paper we present a modality for generating splines in H-locally convex spaces which allows us to solve some problems of best approximation by linear subspaces of spline functions in these spaces. In this way one shows that the elements of best vectorial approximation coincide with the spline functions introduced by us in a previous research work. These splines are also the only elements of best simultaneous approximation by their generated linear subspaces with respect to any family of seminorms which induces the H-locally convex topology and, consequently, they are the only solutions for some frequent strong and vectorial optimization programs. Moreover, as we shall see in the numerical examples, our construction leads to discover orthogonal decompositions for H-locally convex spaces which, in general, are difficult to be identified.  相似文献

The goal of this paper is to provide wavelet characterizations for anisotropic Besov spaces. Depending on the anisotropy, appropriate biorthogonal tensor product bases are introduced and Jackson and Bernstein estimates are proved for two-parameter families of finite-dimensional spaces. These estimates lead to characterizations for anisotropic Besov spaces by anisotropy-dependent linear approximation spaces and lead further on to interpolation and embedding results. Finally, wavelet characterizations for anisotropic Besov spaces with respect to Lp-spaces with 0<p<∞ are derived.  相似文献

The motivation for this work is a recently constructed family of generators of shift invariant spaces with certain optimal approximation properties, but which are not refinable in the classical sense. We try to see whether, once the classical refinability requirement is removed, it is still possible to construct meaningful wavelet decompositions of dilates of the shift invariant space that are well suited for applications.  相似文献
