In a Kerr nonlinear blackbody, bare photons with opposite wave vectors and helicities are bound into pairs and unpaired photons are transformed into a new kind of quasiparticle, the nonpolariton. The nonpolariton system constitutes free thermal radiation in the blackbody. The present paper investigates the spectral energy density of the thermal radiation. We find that amplitude-squared squeezing of the photon field is present in a new blackbody, namely, a Kerr- nonlinear blackbody. The squeezing effect decreases as temperature T increases. The amount of the amplitude-squared squeezing in a Kerr-nonlinear blackbody is much larger than the corresponding squeezing in normal blackbody, and the degree of amplitude-squared squeezing is much larger than the amplitude squeezing for the same range of parameters in a Kerr-nonlinear blackbody. 相似文献

A Kerr nonlinear blackbody (KNB) is a new kind of blackbody in which bare photons with opposite wave vectors and helicities are bound into pairs and unpaired photons are transformed into nonpolaritons. In the present paper, we focus our investigation on the modified radiation laws, such as Planck and Stefan-Boltzmann radiation laws, of a rectangular KNB. Besides, the case of a KNB with no symmetry axes is also discussed. Finally, we make a numerical calculation of modified radiation laws of a cubic KNB under appropriate conditions, and we consider this work may lay the foundation for the experimental verification of the model of a KNB. 相似文献

The nonpolariton system can constitute free thermal radiation in the blackbody. The present paper investigates the radiation of a KNB in a cavity of finite-size. For a given geometry, we obtain explicit expressions of the modified Planck and Stefan-Boltzmann blackbody radiation laws as a function of the temperature, size and shape of the cavity by using semiclassical techniques. Moreover, we discuss these corrections of a spherical KNB and the range of parameters (temperature and size of the cavity) in which these effects are accessible to experimental detection. Finally, we calculate the finite-size corrections (FSCs) under these conditions, and this work may lay the foundation for the experimental verification of a KNB. 相似文献

Spectral hole burning is investigated in an optical medium in the presence of Doppler broadening and Kerr nonlinearity. The Kerr nonlinearity generates coherent hole burning in the absorption spectrum. The higher order Kerr nonlinearity enhances the typical lamb dip of the hole. Normal dispersion in the hole burning region while Steep anomalous dispersion between the two hole burning regions also enhances with higher order Kerr effect. A large phase shift creates large delay or advancement in the pulse propagation while no distortion is observed in the pulse. These results provide significant steps to improve optical memory, telecom devices, preservation of information and image quality. 相似文献

We study the thermodynamics of phase transitions of a blackbody whose interior is filled by a Kerr nonlinear crystal. There is a transition temperature To, above which the Kerr nonlinear blackbody is in the normal thermal radiation state, and below which it is in the squeezed thermal radiation state. At To, the Gibbs free energy of the two phases is continuous but the entropy density of the two phases is discontinuous. Hence, there is a jump in the entropy density and this leads to a latent heat density. The photon system undergoes a first-order phase transition from the normal to the squeezed thermal radiation state. 相似文献

The dynamics of atomic dipole momentum and atomic dipole-squeezing effect are investigated inside a Kerr nonlinear blackbody. It is found that in a Kerr nonlinear blackbody, the atomic dipole momentum and its squeezing effect are heavily dependent on the Kerr nonlinear coefficient. It is also found that below a transition temperature T c , the dipole momentum and its squeezing effect in a Kerr nonlinear blackbody can vanish much faster with time than those in a normal blackbody. Above T c , the Kerr nonlinear blackbody becomes a normal blackbody, and the dynamics of the atomic dipole momentum and its squeezing effect behaves as those in normal blackbody radiation. The physical origin of the sudden-vanishing phenomenon in a Kerr nonlinear blackbody is also discussed. 相似文献

The existence of a new class of double humped grey and dark solitons in a Kerr nonlinear medium has been predicted in this paper. Following well known variational procedure, the dynamics of the propagating soliton has been converted to a Hamiltonian formulation. A set of ordinary differential equations is then derived, which was subsequently examined to predict the existence of double humped grey and dark solitons. Linear stability analysis, numerical appreciation and phase plane dynamics show that these solitons are stable. 相似文献

高功率固体激光驱动器的负载能力已经成为限制驱动器发展的瓶颈问题,负载能力研究的主要是激光束近场和光学元件的相互作用过程。采用功率谱密度(Power spectral density,PSD)方法分析了多程放大构型高功率固体激光驱动器实验输出近场强度的频谱在激光强度提升过程中的演变规律,分析了引起近场强度调制的主要因素。结果表明,高强度下,激光驱动器的输出近场存在明显的频谱特征,二维功率谱密度近似满足各向同性,近场调制主要源于小尺度自聚焦效应,PSD曲线显示获得增长的频率主要是各级空间滤波器截止频率所限定的频段。 相似文献

Based on the new development of nonextensive statistical mechanics (NSM), i.e., the so-called “optimal Lagrange multipliers” (OLM)approach, we revisit the generalized radiation laws of a Kerr nonlinear blackbody (KNB) and obtain the analytical expressions of generalized Planck radiation law and Stefan-Boltzmann law. In order to illustrate the influence of the parameter q on the two generalized radiation laws, we make a numerical calculation of the two laws under appropriate conditions. The article proposes a multispectral image compression scheme using nonlinear spectral transform for better colorimetric and
spectral reproducibility. In the method, we show the reduction of colorimetric error under a defined viewing illuminant and
also that spectral accuracy can be improved simultaneously using a nonlinear spectral transform called Labplus, which takes
into account the nonlinearity of human color vision. Moreover, we show that the addition of diagonal matrices to Labplus can
further preserve the spectral accuracy and has a generalized effect of improving the colorimetric accuracy under other viewing
illuminants than the defined one. Finally, we discuss the usage of the first-order Markov model to form the analysis vectors
for the higher order channels in Labplus to reduce the computational complexity. We implement a multispectral image compression
system that integrates Labplus with JPEG2000 for high colorimetric and spectral reproducibility. Experimental results for
a 16-band multispectral image show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. 相似文献
