We are concerned with the existence of infinitely many solutions for the problem \(-\Delta u=|u|^{p-2}u+f\) in \(\Omega \), \(u=u_0\) on \(\partial \Omega \), where \(\Omega \) is a bounded domain in \(\mathbb {R}^N\), \(N\ge 3\). This can be seen as a perturbation of the problem with \(f=0\) and \(u_0=0\), which is odd in u. If \(\Omega \) is invariant with respect to a closed strict subgroup of O(N), then we prove infinite existence for all functions f and \(u_0\) in certain spaces of invariant functions for a larger range of exponents p than known before. In order to achieve this, we prove Lieb–Cwikel–Rosenbljum-type bounds for invariant potentials on \(\Omega \), employing improved Sobolev embeddings for spaces of invariant functions.  相似文献

Let \(n\in \mathbb {N}\), A and B be Banach algebras and let B be a right A-module. We say that a linear mapping \(\varphi :A\longrightarrow B\) is a pseudo n-Jordan homomorphism if there exists an element \(w\in A\) such that \(\varphi (a^nw)=\varphi (a)^n\cdot w\), for every \(a\in A\) and \(n\ge \) 2. In this paper, among other things, we show that under some conditions if a linear mapping \(\varphi \) is a (pseudo) n-Jordan homomorphism, then it is a (pseudo) \((n + 1)\)-Jordan homomorphism. Additionally, we investigate automatic continuity of surjective pseudo n-Jordan homomorphisms under some conditions.  相似文献

We study the existence problem for a class of nonlinear elliptic equations whose prototype is of the form \(-\Delta _p u = |\nabla u|^p + \sigma \) in a bounded domain \(\Omega \subset \mathbb {R}^n\). Here \(\Delta _p\), \(p>1\), is the standard p-Laplacian operator defined by \(\Delta _p u=\mathrm{div}\, (|\nabla u|^{p-2}\nabla u)\), and the datum \(\sigma \) is a signed distribution in \(\Omega \). The class of solutions that we are interested in consists of functions \(u\in W^{1,p}_0(\Omega )\) such that \(|\nabla u|\in M(W^{1,p}(\Omega )\rightarrow L^p(\Omega ))\), a space pointwise Sobolev multipliers consisting of functions \(f\in L^{p}(\Omega )\) such that
$$\begin{aligned} \int _{\Omega } |f|^{p} |\varphi |^p dx \le C \int _{\Omega } (|\nabla \varphi |^p + |\varphi |^p) dx \quad \forall \varphi \in C^\infty (\Omega ), \end{aligned}$$
for some \(C>0\). This is a natural class of solutions at least when the distribution \(\sigma \) is nonnegative and compactly supported in \(\Omega \). We show essentially that, with only a gap in the smallness constants, the above equation has a solution in this class if and only if one can write \(\sigma =\mathrm{div}\, F\) for a vector field F such that \(|F|^{\frac{1}{p-1}}\in M(W^{1,p}(\Omega )\rightarrow L^p(\Omega ))\). As an important application, via the exponential transformation \(u\mapsto v=e^{\frac{u}{p-1}}\), we obtain an existence result for the quasilinear equation of Schrödinger type \(-\Delta _p v = \sigma \, v^{p-1}\), \(v\ge 0\) in \(\Omega \), and \(v=1\) on \(\partial \Omega \), which is interesting in its own right.

Professor Andrzej Fryszkowski formulated, at the 2nd Symposium on Nonlinear Analysis in Toruń, September 13–17, 1999, the following problem: given \(\alpha \in (0,1)\), an arbitrary non-empty set \(\Omega \) and a set-valued mapping \(F:\Omega \rightarrow 2^{\Omega }\), find necessary and (or) sufficient conditions for the existence of a (complete) metric d on \(\Omega \) having the property that F is a Nadler set-valued \(\alpha \)-contraction with respect to d. Com?neci (Stud. Univ. Babe?-Bolyai Math. 62:537–542, 2017) provided necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a complete and bounded metric d on \(\Omega \) having the property that F is a Nadler set-valued \(\alpha \)-contraction with respect to d, in case that \(\alpha \in (0,\frac{1}{2})\) and there exists \(z\in \Omega \) such that \(F(z)=\{z\}\) . We improve Com?neci’s result by allowing \(\alpha \) to belong to the interval (0, 1). In addition, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a complete and bounded metric d on \(\Omega \) such that F is a Nadler set-valued \(\alpha \)-similarity with respect to d, in case that \(\alpha \in (0,1)\), there exists \(z\in \Omega \) such that \(F(z)=\{z\}\) and F is non-overlapping.  相似文献

Let \(n\ge 3, \Omega \) be a bounded, simply connected and semiconvex domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(L_{\Omega }:=-\Delta +V\) a Schrödinger operator on \(L^2 (\Omega )\) with the Dirichlet boundary condition, where \(\Delta \) denotes the Laplace operator and the potential \(0\le V\) belongs to the reverse Hölder class \(RH_{q_0}({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) for some \(q_0\in (\max \{n/2,2\},\infty ]\). Assume that the growth function \(\varphi :\,{\mathbb {R}}^n\times [0,\infty ) \rightarrow [0,\infty )\) satisfies that \(\varphi (x,\cdot )\) is an Orlicz function and \(\varphi (\cdot ,t)\in {\mathbb {A}}_{\infty }({\mathbb {R}}^n)\) (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights). Let \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) be the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space whose elements are restrictions of elements of the Musielak–Orlicz–Hardy space, associated with \(L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n}:=-\Delta +V\) on \({\mathbb {R}}^n\), to \(\Omega \). In this article, the authors show that the operators \(VL^{-1}_\Omega \) and \(\nabla ^2L^{-1}_\Omega \) are bounded from \(L^1(\Omega )\) to weak-\(L^1(\Omega )\), from \(L^p(\Omega )\) to itself, with \(p\in (1,2]\), and also from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to the Musielak–Orlicz space \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself. As applications, the boundedness of \(\nabla ^2{\mathbb {G}}_D\) on \(L^p(\Omega )\), with \(p\in (1,2]\), and from \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) to \(L^\varphi (\Omega )\) or to \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) itself is obtained, where \({\mathbb {G}}_D\) denotes the Dirichlet Green operator associated with \(L_\Omega \). All these results are new even for the Hardy space \(H^1_{L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\), which is just \(H_{\varphi ,\,L_{{\mathbb {R}}^n},\,r}(\Omega )\) with \(\varphi (x,t):=t\) for all \(x\in {\mathbb {R}}^n\) and \(t\in [0,\infty )\).  相似文献

Let \(\pi _{\varphi }\) (or \(\pi _{\psi }\)) be an automorphic cuspidal representation of \(\text {GL}_{2} (\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\) associated to a primitive Maass cusp form \(\varphi \) (or \(\psi \)), and \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\) be the jth symmetric power lift of \(\pi _{\varphi }\). Let \(a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)\) denote the nth Dirichlet series coefficient of the principal L-function associated to \(\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }\). In this paper, we study first moments of Dirichlet series coefficients of automorphic representations \(\mathrm{sym}^3 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{4}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\), and \(\pi _{\psi }\otimes \mathrm{sym}^2 \pi _{\varphi }\) of \(\text {GL}_{6}(\mathbb {A}_{\mathbb {Q}})\). For \(3 \le j \le 8\), estimates for \(|a_{\mathrm{sym}^j \pi _{\varphi }}(n)|\) on average over a short interval have also been established.  相似文献

We study the properties of Carnot–Carathéodory spaces attached to a strictly pseudoconvex CR manifold M, in a neighborhood of each point \(x \in M\), versus the pseudohermitian geometry of M arising from a fixed positively oriented contact form \(\theta \) on M. The weak Dirichlet problem for the sublaplacian \(\Delta _b\) on \((M, \theta )\) is solved on domains \(\Omega \subset M\) supporting the Poincaré inequality. The solution to Neumann problem for the sublaplacian \(\Delta _b\) on a \(C^{1,1}\) connected \((\epsilon , \delta )\)-domain \(\Omega \subset {{\mathbb {G}}}\) in a Carnot group (due to Danielli et al. in: Memoirs of American Mathematical Society 2006) is revisited for domains in a CR manifold. As an application we prove discreetness of the Dirichlet and Neumann spectra of \(\Delta _b\) on \(\Omega \subset M\) in a Carnot–Carthéodory complete pseudohermitian manifold \((M, \theta )\).  相似文献

The spectral unit ball \(\Omega _n\) is the set of all \(n\times n\) matrices M with spectral radius less than 1. Let \(\pi (M) \in \mathbb {C}^n\) stand for the coefficients of the characteristic polynomial of a matrix M (up to signs), i.e. the elementary symmetric functions of its eigenvalues. The symmetrized polydisc is \({{\mathbb {G}}}_n:=\pi (\Omega _n)\). When investigating Nevanlinna–Pick problems for maps from the disk to the spectral ball, it is often useful to project the map to the symmetrized polydisc (for instance to obtain continuity results for the Lempert function): if \(\Phi \in {\mathrm {Hol}}(\mathbb {D}, \Omega _n)\), then \(\pi \circ \Phi \in {\mathrm {Hol}}(\mathbb {D}, {{\mathbb {G}}}_n)\). Given a map \(\varphi \in {\mathrm {Hol}}(\mathbb {D}, {{\mathbb {G}}}_n)\), we are looking for necessary and sufficient conditions for this map to “lift through given matrices”, i.e. find \(\Phi \) as above so that \(\pi \circ \Phi = \varphi \) and \(\Phi (\alpha _j) = A_j\), \(1\le j \le N\). A natural necessary condition is \(\varphi (\alpha _j)=\pi (A_j)\), \(1\le j \le N\). When the matrices \(A_j\) are derogatory (i.e. do not admit a cyclic vector) new necessary conditions appear, involving derivatives of \(\varphi \) at the points \(\alpha _j\). We prove that those conditions are necessary and sufficient for a local lifting. We give a formula which performs the global lifting in small dimensions (\(n \le 5\)), and a counter-example to show that the formula fails in dimensions 6 and above.  相似文献

We consider a class of subnormal operator tuples \(M_z\) consisting of multiplications by coordinate functions on a class of reproducing kernel Hilbert spaces associated with certain bounded domains \(\Omega \) in \({\mathbb {C}}^m\), with the closure \({{\bar{\Omega }}}\) of \(\Omega \) being the Taylor spectrum of \(M_z\) and the topological boundary \(\partial \Omega \) of \(\Omega \) being the Taylor essential spectrum of \(M_z\). If T is a subnormal operator tuple quasisimilar to \(M_z\), then we show that the Taylor spectrum of T is \({{\bar{\Omega }}}\) provided \({{\bar{\Omega }}}\) is polynomially convex and provided \(\Omega \) is either strictly pseudoconvex with \(C^2\) boundary or is starlike, and that the Taylor essential spectrum of T is \(\partial \Omega \) provided \(\Omega \) satisfies the Gleason property as well. This generalizes some previous work of the first-named author in the context of the unit ball and the unit polydisk. The relevant theory is then applied to the multiplication tuples on the Hardy and Bergman spaces of complex ellipsoids.  相似文献

Let \(\varphi \) be an analytic self map of the open unit disc \(\mathbb {D}\). Assume that \(\psi \) is an analytic map of \(\mathbb {D}\). Suppose that f is in the Hardy–Hilbert space of the open unit disc \(H^2\). The operator that takes f into \(\psi \cdot f \circ \varphi \) is a weighted composition operator, and is denoted by \(C_{\psi ,\varphi }\). In this paper we relate the convergence of the sequence \(\{ C_{\psi _n,\varphi _n}\}\) in different operator topologies to the convergence of the two sequences of maps \(\{\varphi _n \}\) and \(\{ \psi _n\}\).  相似文献

Given \(\rho >0\), we study the elliptic problem
$$\begin{aligned} \text {find } (U,\lambda )\in H^1_0(\Omega )\times {\mathbb {R}}\text { such that } {\left\{ \begin{array}{ll} -\Delta U+\lambda U=|U|^{p-1}U\\ \int _{\Omega } U^2\, dx=\rho , \end{array}\right. } \end{aligned}$$
where \(\Omega \subset {\mathbb {R}}^N\) is a bounded domain and \(p>1\) is Sobolev-subcritical, searching for conditions (about \(\rho \), N and p) for the existence of solutions. By the Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequality it follows that, when p is \(L^2\)-subcritical, i.e. \(1<p<1+4/N\), the problem admits solutions for every \(\rho >0\). In the \(L^2\)-critical and supercritical case, i.e. when \(1+4/N \le p < 2^*-1\), we show that, for any \(k\in {\mathbb {N}}\), the problem admits solutions having Morse index bounded above by k only if \(\rho \) is sufficiently small. Next we provide existence results for certain ranges of \(\rho \), which can be estimated in terms of the Dirichlet eigenvalues of \(-\Delta \) in \(H^1_0(\Omega )\), extending to changing sign solutions and to general domains some results obtained in Noris et al. in Anal. PDE 7:1807–1838, 2014 for positive solutions in the ball.

Let mn be positive integers and p a prime. We denote by \(\nu (G)\) an extension of the non-abelian tensor square \(G \otimes G\) by \(G \times G\). We prove that if G is a residually finite group satisfying some non-trivial identity \(f \equiv ~1\) and for every \(x,y \in G\) there exists a p-power \(q=q(x,y)\) such that \([x,y^{\varphi }]^q = 1\), then the derived subgroup \(\nu (G)'\) is locally finite (Theorem A). Moreover, we show that if G is a residually finite group in which for every \(x,y \in G\) there exists a p-power \(q=q(x,y)\) dividing \(p^m\) such that \([x,y^{\varphi }]^q\) is left n-Engel, then the non-abelian tensor square \(G \otimes G\) is locally virtually nilpotent (Theorem B).  相似文献

Let \(\Omega \) be a smooth bounded domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^N\) (\(N>2\)) and \(\delta (x):=\text {dist}\,(x,\partial \Omega )\). Assume \(\mu \in {\mathbb {R}}_+, \nu \) is a nonnegative finite measure on \(\partial \Omega \) and \(g \in C(\Omega \times {\mathbb {R}}_+)\). We study positive solutions of
$$\begin{aligned} -\Delta u - \frac{\mu }{\delta ^2} u = g(x,u) \text { in } \Omega , \qquad \text {tr}^*(u)=\nu . \end{aligned}$$
(P)
Here \(\text {tr}^*(u)\) denotes the normalized boundary trace of u which was recently introduced by Marcus and Nguyen (Ann Inst H Poincaré Anal Non Linéaire, 34, 69–88, 2017). We focus on the case \(0<\mu < C_H(\Omega )\) (the Hardy constant for \(\Omega \)) and provide qualitative properties of positive solutions of (P). When \(g(x,u)=u^q\) with \(q>0\), we prove that there is a critical value \(q^*\) (depending only on \(N, \mu \)) for (P) in the sense that if \(q<q^*\) then (P) possesses a solution under a smallness assumption on \(\nu \), but if \(q \ge q^*\) this problem admits no solution with isolated boundary singularity. Existence result is then extended to a more general setting where g is subcritical [see (1.28)]. We also investigate the case where g is linear or sublinear and give an existence result for (P).

Let \(\varGamma \) be a class of formulas. We say that a theory T in classical logic has the \(\varGamma \)-disjunction property if for any \(\varGamma \) sentences \(\varphi \) and \(\psi \), either \(T \vdash \varphi \) or \(T \vdash \psi \) whenever \(T \vdash \varphi \vee \psi \). First, we characterize the \(\varGamma \)-disjunction property in terms of the notion of partial conservativity. Secondly, we prove a model theoretic characterization result for \(\varSigma _n\)-disjunction property. Thirdly, we investigate relationships between partial disjunction properties and several other properties of theories containing Peano arithmetic. Finally, we investigate unprovability of formalized partial disjunction properties.  相似文献

Let A be a 0-sectorial operator with a bounded \(H^\infty (\Sigma _\sigma )\)-calculus for some \(\sigma \in (0,\pi ),\) e.g. a Laplace type operator on \(L^p(\Omega ),\, 1< p < \infty ,\) where \(\Omega \) is a manifold or a graph. We show that A has a \(\mathcal {H}^\alpha _2(\mathbb {R}_+)\) Hörmander functional calculus if and only if certain operator families derived from the resolvent \((\lambda - A)^{-1},\) the semigroup \(e^{-zA},\) the wave operators \(e^{itA}\) or the imaginary powers \(A^{it}\) of A are R-bounded in an \(L^2\)-averaged sense. If X is an \(L^p(\Omega )\) space with \(1 \le p < \infty \), R-boundedness reduces to well-known estimates of square sums.  相似文献

Differential and falsified sampling expansions \(\sum _{k\in {\mathbb {Z}}^d}c_k\varphi (M^jx+k)\), where M is a matrix dilation, are studied. In the case of differential expansions, \(c_k=Lf(M^{-j}\cdot )(-k)\), where L is an appropriate differential operator. For a large class of functions \(\varphi \), the approximation order of differential expansions was recently studied. Some smoothness of the Fourier transform of \(\varphi \) from this class is required. In the present paper, we obtain similar results for a class of band-limited functions \(\varphi \) with the discontinuous Fourier transform. In the case of falsified expansions, \(c_k\) is the mathematical expectation of random integral average of a signal f near the point \(M^{-j}k\). To estimate the approximation order of the falsified sampling expansions we compare them with the differential expansions. Error estimations in \(L_p\)-norm are given in terms of the Fourier transform of f.  相似文献

In an earlier paper, we introduced the following pre-order on the subgroups of a given Polish group: if G is a Polish group and \(H,L \subseteq G\) are subgroups, we say H is homomorphism reducible to L iff there is a continuous group homomorphism \(\varphi : G \rightarrow G\) such that \(H = \varphi ^{-1} (L)\). We previously showed that there is a \(K_\sigma \) subgroup L of the countable power of any locally compact Polish group G such that every \(K_\sigma \) subgroup of \(G^\omega \) is homomorphism reducible to L. In the present work, we show that this fails in the countable power of the group of increasing homeomorphisms of the unit interval.  相似文献

Let f be a \(C^{1+\alpha }\) diffeomorphism of a compact Riemannian manifold and \(\mu \) an ergodic hyperbolic measure with positive entropy. We prove that for every continuous potential \(\phi \) there exists a sequence of basic sets \(\Omega _n\) such that the topological pressure \(P(f|\Omega _n,\phi )\) converges to the free energy \(P_{\mu }(\phi ) = h(\mu ) + \int \phi {d\mu }\). We also prove that for a suitable class of potentials \(\phi \) there exists a sequence of basic sets \(\Omega _n\) such that \(P(f|\Omega _n,\phi ) \rightarrow P(\phi )\).  相似文献

We prove that, for arbitrary Dirichlet L-functions \(L(s;\chi _1),\ldots ,L(s;\chi _n)\) (including the case when \(\chi _j\) is equivalent to \(\chi _k\) for \(j\ne k\)), suitable shifts of type \(L(s+i\alpha _jt^{a_j}\log ^{b_j}t;\chi _j)\) can simultaneously approximate any given set of analytic functions on a simply connected compact subset of the right open half of the critical strip, provided the pairs \((a_j,b_j)\) are distinct and satisfy certain conditions. Moreover, we consider a discrete analogue of this problem where t runs over the set of positive integers.  相似文献

This paper introduces the notion of log-regularity (or log-irregularity) of the boundary point \(\zeta \) (possibly \(\zeta =\infty \)) of the arbitrary open subset \(\Omega \) of the Greenian deleted neigborhood of \(\zeta \) in \({\mathbb {R}}^2\) concerning second order uniformly elliptic equations with bounded and measurable coefficients, according as whether the log-harmonic measure of \(\zeta \) is null (or positive). A necessary and sufficient condition for the removability of the logarithmic singularity, that is to say for the existence of a unique solution to the Dirichlet problem in \(\Omega \) in a class \(O(\log |\cdot - \zeta |)\) is established in terms of the Wiener test for the log-regularity of \(\zeta \). From a topological point of view, the Wiener test at \(\zeta \) presents the minimal thinness criteria of sets near \(\zeta \) in minimal fine topology. Precisely, the open set \(\Omega \) is a deleted neigborhood of \(\zeta \) in minimal fine topology if and only if \(\zeta \) is log-irregular. From the probabilistic point of view, the Wiener test presents asymptotic law for the log-Brownian motion near \(\zeta \) conditioned on the logarithmic kernel with pole at \(\zeta \).  相似文献
