Intrinsic microphysical irreversibility is thetime asymmetry observed in exponentially decayingstates. It is described by the semigroup generated bythe Hamiltonian H of the quantum physical system, not by the semigroup generated by a Liouvillian Lwhich describes the irreversibility due to the influenceof an external reservoir or measurement apparatus. Thesemigroup time evolution generated by H is impossible in the Hilbert space (HS) theory, which allowsonly time-symmetric boundary conditions and a unitarygroup time evolution. This leads to problems with decayprobabilities in the HS theory. To overcome these and other problems (nonexistence of Dirac kets)caused by the Lebesgue integrals of the HS, one extendsthe HS to a Gel'fand triplet, which contains not onlyDirac kets, but also generalized eigenvectors of the self-adjoint H with complex eigenvalues(ER – i/2) and a Breit-Wignerenergy distribution. These Gamow statesG have a time-asymmetric exponentialevolution. One can derive the decay probability of the Gamow state into the decay productsdescribed by from the basic formula of quantummechanics (t) = Tr(|G ›‹G|), which in HS quantum mechanicsis identically zero. From this result one derives the decay rate (t) and all the standard relations between(0), , and the lifetimeR used in the phenomenology of resonancescattering and decay. From a finite size analysis we extract the structure factorS(p, N=) of the one dimensional AFH-model in the groundstate: The gross structure is well described byL (p) = –ln(1– p ). The fine structure which only contributes a few percent reveals a pronounced non-linear behavior inL(p) with a maximum atp=0.20 and a minimum atp=0.82.  相似文献

In order to obtain sum rules and spectral representations the Hermiticity property , A = A, of observables is used. Nuclear emulsions were used to study the energy spectrum and forward-backward asymmetry of neutrons from the Co59(p,n) reaction forE p 6·5 MeV. It was found that the decay of the compound nucleus makes a maximum contribution of 50% to the reaction yield. Energies of some excited states of the Ni59 nucleus were also determined.

The paper describes a double-crystal monochromator unit. The influence of vertical divergence of the beam on the luminosity and degree of monochromatization is discussed in detail and experimentally proved. Finally, the author shows how to apply a double-crystal monochromator unit (using analyzing crystals of germanium (111)) in fluorescent X-ray emission analysis, especially for an X-ray quantometer.

The tensor of reflected and refracted light was first introduced into the principal axes and then the latter were transformed into thep ands direction of the electric field strength. The amplitude coefficient of thep-components of refracted light has different forms depending on which complex unit vector is unit with respect to the square or the absolute value. The energy coefficient has the same value in both cases.

An expression for the decay rate (0 ) has been derived in the frameworkof the spinor strong interaction theory, a first-principles strong interaction theoryproposed some years ago as an alternative to low-energy QCD. The startingpoint is the SO(3) gauge-invariant action for two quark mesons which has beensuccessful in accounting for confinement, + + , e+, and 0 e+, nonexistenceof the Higgs boson, and other low-energy mesonic phenomena. The quasi-four-quarkmeson equations developed for the decay of a vector meson into twopseudoscalar mesons V PP has been taken over here to apply to P(0) VV(+ ) (plus + and which annihilate each other). This mechanismin principle agrees with that of the assumption of vector meson dominance inthe literature. It, together with the effect of form factors, arises naturally in theformalism and need not be assumed. Equations for the perturbed vector mesonwave functions cannot be simply solved and an assumption has been made toobtain an estimate of their magnitude. Together with a constant associated withthe strong coupling obtained earlier from V() PP(K+K), the estimated decayrate is 19.2 eV, in order-of-magnitude agreement with data (7.74 eV).  相似文献

A solution of the stress, deformation and deformation energy is given for an edge dislocation with its dislocation line having the shape of a circle in an unlimited isotropic medium. The possibility of using this solution in studying the dislocation loop in a crystal is discussed.

For the Ising model with nearest neighbour interaction it is shown that the spin correlations A B - A B decrease exponentially asd(A, B) in a pure phase when the temperature is well belowT c. This is used to prove that the free energyF(,h) is infinitely differentiable in and has one sided derivatives inh of all orders forh=0. The bounds are also used to prove that the central limit theorem holds for several variables such as e.g. the total energy and the total magnetization of the system, the limit distribution being gaussian with variances determined by the second derivatives ofF(,h).  相似文献

We study perturbative QCD at the five-loop level. In particular we considerR = tot(e + e hadrons)/(e + e + ) andR = ( v+hadrons)/( ev). We use our method to estimate the five-loop coefficients. As a result, we obtain s (M z ) = 0.1186(11) and s (34 GeV) = 0.1396(16), which are accurate at the 1% level. We also findR = 3.8350(18), which is consistent withR and is accurate to 0.05%.  相似文献

A detailed analysis is reported examining the local magnetic susceptibility (r), in relation to the correlation functionG(R) and correlation length , of a spherical model ferromagnet confined to geometry =L dd × d ( d 2,d>2) under a continuous set oftwisted boundary conditions. The twist parameter in this problem may be interpreted as a measure of the geometry-dependent doping level of interfacial impurities (or antiferromagnetic seams) in theextended system at various temperatures. For j 0, jd-d, no seams are present except at infinity, whereas if j = 1/2, impurity saturation occurs. For 0 < j < 1/2 the physical domain phys =D dd × d (D>L), defining the region between seams containing the origin, depends on temperature above a certain threshold (T>T 0). Below that temperature (T>T 0), seams are frozen at the same position (DL/2,d-d'=1), revealing a smoothly varying largescale structural phase transition.  相似文献
