In this paper, we consider a non-local PDE model with delay for population dynamics in ℝ n . First, we prove the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions under some suitable decayed assumptions on non-local term at infinity. Then, we obtain the global attractor by proving ω-limit compactness property of the solution operator semigroup.  相似文献

We present a new approach to analyze the validation of weakly nonlinear geometric optics for entropy solutions of nonlinear hyperbolic systems of conservation laws whose eigenvalues are allowed to have constant multiplicity and corresponding characteristic fields to be linearly degenerate. The approach is based on our careful construction of more accurate auxiliary approximation to weakly nonlinear geometric optics, the properties of wave front-tracking approximate solutions, the behavior of solutions to the approximate asymptotic equations, and the standard semigroup estimates. To illustrate this approach more clearly, we focus first on the Cauchy problem for the hyperbolic systems with compact support initial data of small bounded variation and establish that the L 1-estimate between the entropy solution and the geometric optics expansion function is bounded by O(?2), independent of the time variable. This implies that the simpler geometric optics expansion functions can be employed to study the behavior of general entropy solutions to hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. Finally, we extend the results to the case with non-compact support initial data of bounded variation.  相似文献

Consider a linearly degenerate hyperbolic system of rich type. Assuming that each eigenvalue of the system has a constant multiplicity, we construct a representation formula of entropy solutions in L to the Cauchy problem. This formula depends on the solution of an autonomous system of ordinary differential equations taking x as parameter. We prove that for smooth initial data, the Cauchy problem for such an autonomous system admits a unique global solution. By using this formula together with classical compactness arguments, we give a very simple proof on the global existence of entropy solutions. Moreover, in a particular case of the system, we obtain an another explicit expression and the uniqueness of the entropy solution. Applications include the one-dimensional Born–Infeld system and linear Lagrangian systems.  相似文献

In this paper we are concerned with the initial boundary value problem of the micropolar fluid system in a three dimensional bounded domain. We study the resolvent problem of the linearized equations and prove the generation of analytic semigroup and its time decay estimates. In particular, LpLq type estimates are obtained. By use of the LpLq estimates for the semigroup, we prove the existence theorem of global in time solution to the original nonlinear problem for small initial data. We obtain several new regularity results for solutions of scalar conservation laws satisfying the genuine nonlinearity condition. We prove that the solutions are continuous outside of the jump set, which is codimension one rectifiable. We show that the entropy dissipation vanishes away from the closure of the jump set. We prove that the solution decays algebraically in L as t → ∞, and we compute the presumably optimal decay rate. All these results are based on a local oscillation estimate that is obtained properly adapting some ideas of De Giorgi from the context of elliptic equations. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

We analyze the two‐dimensional parabolic‐elliptic Patlak‐Keller‐Segel model in the whole Euclidean space ?2. Under the hypotheses of integrable initial data with finite second moment and entropy, we first show local‐in‐time existence for any mass of “free‐energy solutions,” namely weak solutions with some free‐energy estimates. We also prove that the solution exists as long as the entropy is controlled from above. The main result of the paper is to show the global existence of free‐energy solutions with initial data as before for the critical mass 8π/χ. Actually, we prove that solutions blow up as a delta Dirac at the center of mass when t → ∞ when their second moment is kept constant at any time. To derive this result, we prove an alternative characterization of entropy solutions involving stationary solutions, and work with macroscopically stationary states rather than the unknown stationary measures of the process. We investigate the large time behavior of solutions to the spatially homogeneous linear Boltzmann equation from a semigroup viewpoint. Our analysis is performed in some (weighted) L1‐spaces. We deal with both the cases of hard and soft potentials (with angular cut‐off). For hard potentials, we provide a new proof of the fact that, in weighted L1‐spaces with exponential or algebraic weights, the solutions converge exponentially fast towards equilibrium. Our approach uses weak‐compactness arguments combined with recent results of the second author on positive semigroups in L1‐spaces. For soft potentials, in L1‐spaces, we exploit the convergence to ergodic projection for perturbed substochastic semigroup to show that, for very general initial datum, solutions to the linear Boltzmann equation converges to equilibrium in large time. Moreover, for a large class of initial data, we also prove that the convergence rate is at least algebraic. Notice that, for soft potentials, no exponential rate of convergence is expected because of the absence of spectral gap.  相似文献

We construct a deterministic, Lagrangian many-particle approximation to a class of nonlocal transport PDEs with nonlinear mobility arising in many contexts in biology and social sciences. The approximating particle system is a nonlocal version of the follow-the-leader scheme. We rigorously prove that a suitable discrete piece-wise density reconstructed from the particle scheme converges strongly in Lloc1 towards the unique entropy solution to the target PDE as the number of particles tends to infinity. The proof is based on uniform BV estimates on the approximating sequence and on the verification of an approximated version of the entropy condition for large number of particles. As part of the proof, we also prove uniqueness of entropy solutions. We further provide a specific example of non-uniqueness of weak solutions and discuss the interplay of the entropy condition with the steady states. Finally, we produce numerical simulations supporting the need of a concept of entropy solution in order to get a well-posed semigroup in the continuum limit, and showing the behaviour of solutions for large times.  相似文献

We prove that the Cramér functional of a Markov process can be controlled by a function of an integral functional if the transition semigroup is uniformly integrable in L p . As an application of this result, a general large deviation upper bound is obtained. Then, the notation of F-Sobolev inequality is extended to general Markov processes by replacing the Dirichlet form with the Donsker–Varadhan entropy. As the other application, it is proved that the uniform integrability of a transition semigroup implies a F-Sobolev inequality.  相似文献

By proving an L2-gradient estimate for the corresponding Galerkin approximations, the log-Harnack inequality is established for the semigroup associated to a class of stochastic Burgers equations. As applications, we derive the strong Feller property of the semigroup, the irreducibility of the solution, the entropy-cost inequality for the adjoint semigroup, and entropy upper bounds of the transition density.  相似文献

The Stokes semigroup on a bounded domain is an analytic semigroup on spaces of bounded functions as was recently shown by the authors based on an a priori L -estimate for solutions to the linear Stokes equations. In this paper, we extend our approach to exterior domains and prove that the Stokes semigroup is uniquely extendable to an analytic semigroup on spaces of bounded functions.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to prove the well-posedness (existence and uniqueness) of the Lp entropy solution to the homogeneous Dirichlet problems for the anisotropic degenerate parabolic-hyperbolic equations with Lp initial value. We use the device of doubling variables and some technical analysis to prove the uniqueness result. Moreover we can prove that the Lp entropy solution can be obtained as the limit of solutions of the corresponding regularized equations of nondegenerate parabolic type.  相似文献

We present a semigroup analysis of the quantum Liouville equation, which models the temporal evolution of the (quasi) distribution of an electron ensemble under the action of a scalar potential. By employing the density matrix formulation of quantum physics we prove that the quantum Liouville operator generates a unitary group on L2 if the corresponding Hamiltonian is essentially self-adjoint. Also, we analyse the existence and non-negativity of the particale density and prove that the solutions of the quantum Liouville equation converge to weak solutions of the classical Liouville equation as the Planck constant tends to zero (assuming that the potential is sufficiently smooth).  相似文献

Let G be a connected reductive Lie group and K be a maximal compact subgroup of G. We prove that the semigroup of all K-biinvariant probability measures on G is a strongly stable Hungarian semigroup. Combining with the result [see Rusza and Szekely(9)], we get that the factorization theorem of Khinchin holds for the aforementioned semigroup. We also prove that certain subsemigroups of K-biinvariant measures on G are Hungarian semigroups when G is a connected Lie group such that Ad G is almost algebraic and K is a maximal compact subgroup of G. Abstract

We consider stochastic semilinear partial differential equations with Lipschitz nonlinear terms. We prove existence and uniqueness of an invariant measure and the existence of a solution for the corresponding Kolmogorov equation in the space L 2(H;ν), where ν is the invariant measure. We also prove the closability of the derivative operator and an integration by parts formula. Finally, under boundness conditions on the nonlinear term, we prove a Poincaré inequality, a logarithmic Sobolev inequality, and the ipercontractivity of the transition semigroup.  相似文献

Divergence-measure fields are extended vector fields, including vector fields inL p and vector-valued Radon measures, whose divergences are Radon measures. Such fields arise naturally in the study of entropy solutions of nonlinear conservation laws and other areas. In this paper, a theory of divergence-measure fields is presented and analyzed, in which normal traces, a generalized Gauss-Green theorem, and product rules, among others, are established. Some applications of this theory to several nonlinear problems in conservation laws and related areas are discussed. In particular, with the aid of this theory, we prove the stability of Riemann solutions, which may contain rarefaction waves, contact discontinuities, and/or vacuum states, in the class of entropy solutions of the Euler equations for gas dynamics.Dedicated to Constantine Dafermos on his 60th birthday  相似文献

We consider a semilinear stochastic differential equation in a Hilbert space H with a Lipschitz continuous (possibly unbounded) nonlinearity F. We prove that the associated transition semigroup {Pt, t ≥ 0}, acting on the space of bounded measurable functions from H to , transforms bounded nondifferentiable functions into Fréchet differentiable ones. Moreover we consider the associated Kolmogorov equation and we prove that it possesses a unique “strong” solution (where “strong” means limit of classical solutions) given by the semigroup {Pt, t ≥ 0} applied to the initial condition. This result is a starting point to prove existence and uniqueness of strong solutions to Hamilton - Jacobi - Bellman equations arising in control theory.
