A monolithically active-passive integrated colliding pulse mode-locked semiconductor laser is demonstrated in the InGaAsP/InP material system.The device is mode locked at the second harmonic passive mode-locking regime with a wide mode-locking range.Pulse trains with the repetition rate of 40 GHz,3-dB rf line width of 25 kHz,the pulse width of 2.5ps,and a nearly transform-limited time-bandwidth product of 0.53 are obtained.  相似文献

本文用文献提出的理论模型对脉冲主被动锁模钕玻璃和Nd:YAG激光器作了计算机模拟。得到了主被动锁模激光器的锁模阈值、输出稳定性、脉冲宽度、脉冲不对称度等特性对调制器的调制深度、失调以及可饱和染料的浓度、弛豫时间的依赖关系。理论计算结果与实验相比定性地符合得很好,由此解释了若干实验现象,并使我们更好地理解主被动锁模的物理过程。 关键词:  相似文献

Cr4+∶YAG crystal was used as a saturable absorber in an active-passive mode-locked Nd∶YAG laser. The stable and complete mode-locked pulse train was achieved at 1064 nm. The duration of ~0.8 ns to 2.4 ns for a single pulse was obtained by using Cr4+∶YAG crystals with the different initial transmissions, and there was a shortest pulse width. The mode-locking dynamic process of Cr4+∶YAG crystal was discussed to explain the experimental result, and the effect of excited-state absorption was considered.  相似文献

The theory of active-passive mode-locked solid-state lasers is developed where the passive mode-locking is achieved by a nonlinear mirror. Steady-state cw numerical solutions are analyzed in detail for the case of a Nd: YAG laser. Synchronized mode-locking of monolithic mode-locked diode lasers has been demonstrated by injecting the light output from a master monolithic mode-locked diode laser. The master diode laser is a 10 GHZ hybridly mode-locked two section InGaASP quantum well laser. The slave lasers are a 10 GHz two section laser which is similar to the master laser, and a 20 GHz three section colliding pulse mode-locking laser. Both the slave lasers were greatly stabilized at 10 GHz frequency by a synchronous mode-locking mechanism under the injection of master laser pulses.  相似文献

本文报道用Nd:YAP (Nd:YALO_3)激光介质在带抗共振环的平-凸非稳腔结构中,选用五甲川-1,2-二氯乙烷染料,实现对撞脉冲被动锁模,获得良好锁模脉冲波形的实验结果.在1Hz的重复频率下,锁模脉冲平均脉宽<10ps,输出脉冲系列平均能量80mJ,脉冲系列能量集中于中央的三个脉冲,锁模成功率100%.输出能量稳定性80±4mJ.  相似文献

介绍了一种能够直接检测飞秒脉冲啁啾大小的方法。采用共轴结构的迈克尔逊干涉自相关二次谐波检测系统对自制碰撞脉冲锁模循环染料激光器输出的最窄脉冲宽度约为200fs的脉冲进行了测量。测得的飞秒脉冲自相关二次谐波曲线表明:实测曲线的下包络两翼明显隆起,包络外形很不整齐,对称性较差,说明光脉冲含有啁啾。通过比较干涉测量曲线和理论曲线的形状与面积的大小,可以直观地反映出光脉冲所含啁啾的大小。实验结果分析表明,利用满足光相关检测所需精度的光学元件和满足光相关探测基本条件的实验装置,能测得含有相位及啁啾信息的快干涉项信号,是一种能够直观检测光脉冲所含啁啾大小的可行方法。  相似文献

We report on the generation of 267 fs long pulses with a peak power of 661 W emitted by an InGaAs diode laser master-oscillator power-amplifier (MOPA) system with an external grating compressor. The oscillator emits strongly chirped picosecond pulses with several nanometer of bandwidth, which can be amplified without significant phase modulation and are compressed to femtosecond pulses after leaving the amplifier. We used a diode laser module for asymmetric colliding pulse mode-locking and optimized the collision point and the relative intensity of the counter-propagation pulses.  相似文献

We demonstrate the experimental observation of different operation states in erbium-doped fiber ring laser with normal cavity dispersion. The Q-switching, Q-switching mode-locking (QML), continuous wave mode-locking (CML), harmonic mode-locking (HML), double-pulse and multiple-pulse operation states can be manipulated by only adjusting the polarization controller with the same pump power. The output spectral bandwidth and pulse width of operation states are measured. The central wavelength dynamics of different operation states achieved by adjusting the polarization controller are also observed and analyzed. It is shown that pulse width, polarization, chirp and stability of different operation states are diverse by using nonlinear polarization rotation technique.  相似文献

A realistic numerical theory of the temporal and spectral development of picosecond light pulses in a passively mode-locked Nd-glass laser is presented. The effects of the inhomogeneous gain profile of the active medium are considered. The calculations include the pulse development in the prelaser, the linear laser and the mode-locking region. In the mode-locking region twophoton absorption and self-phase modulation in the active medium as well as the bleaching dynamics of the mode-locking dye are included. The influence of self-phase modulation on the temporal pulse shape in active media of finite spectral gain width is analysed. 报道了掺Yb3+光纤激光器产生超短脉冲的实验研究超短脉冲激光器抽运源采用波长为976 nm的半导体激光器,采用非线性偏振旋转相加脉冲锁模技术,通过调节偏振控制器的方向,实现了掺Yb3+光纤激光器的稳定锁模输出,获得了最大输出功率为7.02 mW,脉冲激光光谱宽度为6 nm,重复频率为13.7 MHz.  相似文献

An experimental and theoretical study of a high repetition rate laser source operating on a novel mode-locking technique is presented. This technique relies on the fast saturation and recovery of a semiconductor optical amplifier induced by an external optical pulse and has been used to obtain 4.3 ps pulses at 20 GHz. A complete mathematical model of the fiber ring laser is presented describing the mode-locking process in the laser oscillator and providing solutions for the steady-state mode-locked pulse profile. The critical parameters of the system are defined and analyzed and their impact on the formation of the mode-locked pulses is examined. The comparison between the theoretical results and the experimental data reveals very good agreement and has allowed the optimization of the performance of the system in terms of its critical parameters.  相似文献
