An investigation is made of the low-temperature (4.2–78 K) photoluminescence of single crystals of cadmium diarsenide grown from the gas phase and by the Bridgman method. Radiation near the fundamental absorption edge is detected, which is attributed to annihilation of free excitons with simultaneous emission of phonons (the lines 1.0029 and 0.9840 eV at 4.2 K). We have developed a method for solubilization of hydrophobic CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals of the core/shell type, obtained by high-temperature synthesis in coordinating organic solvents. The method is based on chemical modification of the surface of the nanocrystals with hydrophilic organic mercapto compounds. We have observed that long-chain mercaptoundecanoic acid molecules effectively protect the surface of CdSe/ZnS nanocrystals in water, increasing (compared with short-chain molecules) the photostability of the nanocrystals. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 73, No. 4, pp. 506–509, July–August, 2006.  相似文献

We consider II–VI narrow gap semiconducting alloys: mercury cadmium telluride, Hg(1−x)Cd(x)Te (MCT), mercury zinc telluride, Hg(1−x)Zn(x)Te (MZT), and mercury zinc selenide, Hg(1−x)Zn(x)Se (MZS). MCT is emphasized for actual calculations, but a table of values needed in all calculations is presented. These materials are of interest because of their application to infrared detectors and related devices, and because they are candidates for low gravity crystal growth to improve uniformity. We present new calculations of the scanning tunneling optical spectroscopy (STOS) current from which the local energy gap, a function of x, and hence the stoichiometry (x) can be determined as a function of position with presumably high spatial resolution. The low temperature tunneling current (vs. photon frequency) has a sharper onset at the band gap than the low temperature optical absorption. This sharp onset originates from the rapid increase in the integrated transmission probabilities and is greatly enhanced by large diffusion lengths. Thus, STOS should be a competitive technique, compared to optical absorption, for determining the local stoichiometry, a property that is important for characterizing crystals.  相似文献

Electron spin resonance studies were carried out on VO2+ in cadmium maleate dihydrate single crystals at 303 K. The spin hamiltonian parameters were evaluated. The results lead us to conclude that like Cu2+, VO2+ enters the lattice interstitially.  相似文献

We have experimentally studied the characteristic features of a laser beam, polarized at angles of ± 45° to the horizontal (vertical), passing through plates of varying thickness cut from a CdP2 crystal and placed between crossed polarizers, as a function of their angle of rotation relative to the vertical axis. We show that a periodic variation in the intensity is connected with the variation in polarization of the laser beam. We have established that the laser beam remains linearly polarized not only when it passes through the sample along the optic axis, but also when it travels at up to a 17.5° angle to the optic axis. The lattice parameters of CdF2 andβ-PbF2 have been determined over the temperature range 300–670 K. The coefficient of expansion at room temperature is 21·3 × 10−6 K−1 and 25·4 × 10−6 K−1 for CdF2 and PbF2 respectively and it increases linearly with temperature over the range of temperature covered. The Grüneisen parameter decreases with temperature in both the crystals.  相似文献

 为了对水中的痕量镉进行高灵敏快速检测,实验采用一种未受污染的薄木片作为基底来吸收水样品,将其晾干后再用激光诱导击穿光谱(LIBS)技术对其进行分析,克服了用LIBS技术直接分析水样品时灵敏度低和稳定性差等问题。实验中选择214.44 nm的镉离子线作为分析线以提高光谱检测的灵敏度,建立了用于定量分析的校正曲线,镉的检出限达到55 μg/L,重复测量的信号相对标准偏差小于5%,单次测量的时间短于5 min。  相似文献

In this study, cadmium sulphide (CdS) nanorods doped ferroelectric liquid crystal (FLC) sample cells have been prepared and studied. A memory effect has been observed in CdS nanorods (≤0.3?wt%) doped FLC mixture and confirmed by textures, dielectric and optical studies. The addition of nanorods increases the memory behaviour and efficiency. The occurrence of memory behaviour has been explained due to charge transfer from liquid crystal molecules to CdS nanorods and exists there for 5–15?min in 0.1–0.3?wt% CdS nanorods doped samples. An improvement in polarization, switching time, threshold voltage and rise time parameters has also been noticed in CdS nanorods doped FLC samples.  相似文献

The simultaneous determination of zinc and cadmium using derivative synchronous and multiwavelength synchronous spectrofluorimetry is described. Effects of experimental variables on the fluorescence intensities and on the spectral resolution of the fluorescent chelates of these metals with 8-(p-toluenesulfonamido)-quinoline (TSQ) in a sodium lauryl sulfate micellar medium have been studied. Mixtures containing 10–200 g L–1 Zn and 15–250 g L–1 Cd have been analyzed with good results. The proposed method has been applied to a biological sample.  相似文献

The interaction of enzymes with nanoparticles is important in the field of biotechnology and medicine. Due to the various uses of cadmium telluride nanoparticle in protein science, biotechnology and biophysical chemistry, drug delivery, and cellular imaging, study of this nanoparticle interaction with protein seems to be necessary. Therefore, the interaction between cadmium telluride semiconductor nanoparticle and bovine alkaline phosphatase, a clinical marker enzyme, were investigated by assaying kinetic parameters and fluorescence absorption, UV–vis absorption spectra, and circular dichroism spectroscopic techniques. Obtained results showed that cadmium telluride nanoparticle could quench the fluorescence signal of bovine alkaline phosphatase effectively with a static quenching mechanism. Moreover, the binding of cadmium telluride nanoparticle to the enzyme was spontaneous and van der Waals and hydrogen bonding forces played a key role in the complex stabilization. Circular dichroism spectra measurements indicated that cadmium telluride nanoparticle decreased α-helical content and increased the β-sheet structure of bovine alkaline phosphatase. These findings suggest that cadmium telluride nanoparticle changes the structure and activity of bovine alkaline phosphatase.  相似文献

Dutt and Spitzer experimentally observed the localised vibrational modes related to the phosphorus defects in CdTe andr eported that P would go either to substitutional or interstitial site. In this paper we have theoretically investigated the P defect behaviour in CdTe for those two possible sites by Green’s function technique and we believe from our calculations that P goes interstitially rather than substitutionally.  相似文献

Based on analysis of optical absorption data for CdS nanocrystals obtained by sol-gel technology in gelatin, we have studied the effect of technological factors (reagent concentrations, gelatin concentration) on the growth process and size distribution of the synthesized nanocrystals. Depending on the reagent concentration, we synthesized CdS nanocrystals with mean radii in the range . We have shown that for a low gelatin content (1%), nanocrystals of different sizes are formed (1.7 nm and 2.6 nm). With an increase in the gelatin concentration, the size dispersion decreases and nanocrystals of a single mean radius (2.3 nm) are formed. In this study, a new series of cadmium halide/pseudohalide complexes with a novel Schiff base ligand containing imidazolidine ring has been successfully synthesized. The structure of the ligand and its complexes was characterized by analysis tools such as Fourier transform infrared, UV‐visible, proton and carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, molar conductance, and thermal analysis. Also cadmium bromide and iodide nanostructure complexes have been prepared via sonochemical method. X‐ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy techniques confirmed nanostructure sheets for these 2 cadmium complexes. All the newly prepared compounds were screened for their antimicrobial activities, against 4 bacterial and 2 fungal strains using disk diffusion and serial dilution methods. The CdL(N3)2 and CdLCl2 complexes showed the best antimicrobial activity as compared with other compounds. Moreover, DNA cleavage potential of all compounds was investigated by agarose gel electrophoresis method. The results showed remarkable ability of some cadmium complexes for DNA cleavage. Furthermore, thermal behaviors of all cadmium complexes were studied in the range of room temperature to 800°C under nitrogen atmosphere. The complexes were thermally decomposed via 2 to 4 steps. Cadmium metal was suggested as final residue at the end of thermal decomposition process.  相似文献

Using ovariectomized rats as a model of postmenopausal women, we studied the effects of estrogen (Es) deficiency and in combination with cadmium (Cd) exposure on the calcified hard tissues related to the development of itai-itai disease. Es deficiency suppressed the synthesis of carbonic anhydrase required for the crystal nucleation process, causing the crystal structure defects in the tooth enamel. Regarding the combined effects of Es deficiency and Cd exposure on the bone, in which rats were given drinking water containing Cd ions, soft X-ray radiography revealed a development of labyrinthine pattern in the calvaria, and micro-computed tomography demonstrated the declining trabecular architecture of the tibia, suggesting Cd–induced osteoporotic change. Further, electron microscopy showed the increase of amorphous minerals in the calvaria. In conclusion, the combined effects of Es deficiency and Cd exposure can be responsible for accelerating the declining bone strength together with the crystal structure defects resulting in the preferential occurrence of itai-itai disease in postmenopausal women.  相似文献

Photoinduced changes in the optical absorption of large crystals of cadmium sulphide doped with cadmium and copper, are used to store Bragg-angle holograms by means of a He-Ne laser. The recordings are stable in the dark at room temperature and can be erased either optically or thermally. Diffraction efficiencies of over 1% at a write energy of about 1J/cm2 are obtained.  相似文献
