We prove the pairwise disjointness of representations T z,w of the infinite-dimensional unitary group. These representations are a natural generalization of the regular representation to the “big” group U(∞). They were introduced and studied by G. Olshanski and A. Borodin. The disjointness of these representations reduces to that of certain probability measures on the space of paths in the Gelfand-Tsetlin graph. We prove the latter disjointness using probabilistic and combinatorial methods.  相似文献

We discuss unitary representations of groups in Hilbert spaces of functions given together with reproducing kernels, and in particular irreducibility. Our main focus is on examples, including spherical representations of orthogonal groups, distance-transitive finite graphs, irreducibility of induced representations, the discrete series of SL(2, ), and some representations of PGL(2, p).The appendix contains examples involving groups acting on rooted trees.  相似文献

Let G be a connected simply connected nilpotent Lie group, K an analytic subgroup of G and π an irreducible unitary representation of G. Let DπK(G) be the algebra of differential operators keeping invariant the space of C vectors of π and commuting with the action of K on that space. In this paper, we assume that the restriction of π to K has finite multiplicities and we show that DπK(G) is isomorphic to a subalgebra of the field of rational K-invariant functions on the co-adjoint orbit Ω(π) associated to π, and for some particular cases, that DπK(G) is even isomorphic to the algebra of polynomial K-invariant functions on Ω(π). We prove also the Frobenius reciprocity for some restricted classes of nilpotent Lie groups, especially in the cases where K is normal or abelian.  相似文献

For any unitary representation of an arbitrary Lie group I construct a moment mapping from the space of smooth vectors of the representation into the dual of the Lie algebra. This moment mapping is equivariant and smooth. For the space of analytic vectors the same construction is possible and leads to a real analytic moment mapping.  相似文献

Let be a projective unitary representation of a countable groupG on a separable Hilbert space H. If the set B of Bessel vectorsfor is dense in H, then for any vector x H the analysis operatorx makes sense as a densely defined operator from B to 2(G)-space.Two vectors x and y are called -orthogonal if the range spacesof x and y are orthogonal, and they are -weakly equivalent ifthe closures of the ranges of x and y are the same. These propertiesare characterized in terms of the commutant of the representation. It is proved that a natural geometric invariant (the orthogonalityindex) of the representation agrees with the cyclic multiplicityof the commutant of (G). These results are then applied to Gaborsystems. A sample result is an alternate proof of the knowntheorem that a Gabor sequence is complete in L2d) ifand only if the corresponding adjoint Gabor sequence is 2-linearlyindependent. Some other applications are also discussed.  相似文献

In this paper we determine the projective unitary representations of finite dimensional Lie supergroups whose underlying Lie superalgebra is g=A?k, where k is a compact simple Lie superalgebra and A is a supercommutative associative (super)algebra; the crucial case is when A=Λs(R) is a Graßmann algebra. Since we are interested in projective representations, the first step consists in determining the cocycles defining the corresponding central extensions. Our second main result asserts that, if k is a simple compact Lie superalgebra with k1{0}, then each (projective) unitary representation of Λs(R)?k factors through a (projective) unitary representation of k itself, and these are known by Jakobsen's classification. If k1={0}, then we likewise reduce the classification problem to semidirect products of compact Lie groups K with a Clifford–Lie supergroup which has been studied by Carmeli, Cassinelli, Toigo and Varadarajan.  相似文献
